My darling Mother was a HUGE Godfather fan. When Godfather 3 came out a theater downtown played all three. We sat in the theater for 16 hours watching 1 thru 3 and 1 again. We were crippled from sitting so long and nauseous from eating theater food all day and part of the night. I wish Mom was alive so we could do it all again! Great memories 💖
Lost my father 2 days ago, 22.02.2023. He recommended me to see the Godfather movies when in 1988, when I turned 14 (don't really know why he picked that year). Sitting here tonight, listening to this music with my eyes closed brings back a huge amount of memories.
The power of music. Rota's score not only sanitized the story of men killing men, but immortalized it. Just like Morricone did the westerns, or John Williams did adventure fantasy.
It's amazing how this music describes The Godfather saga without words, just with pure emotions and feelings through music. No words can describe the power that it conveys. The movies alone without music could not cut it.
Ha. I remember being told at 12 years old that I wasn't supposed to watch "The Godfather" for the longest time because it was supposedly "too gory". I'm 31 years old, and I just watched it for the first time yesterday. "Gory"? Really? I should've watched this a long time ago; this movie is a freaking masterpiece. Your son is in for a real treat.
@@frankgesuele6298 Probably. When I think of gory, I think of slasher horror. This movie is nowhere near gory. But perhaps with Sonny, it seems that way, at least to younger audiences.
Don't wait too long! I've found that how gory a film is isn't nearly as important as how the film treats said gore/violence. The godfather is really respectful about it and gives any violence the consequences and weight it deserves. If anything, should teach your son that hurting people never comes without a cost. Certainly better than slasher horror unapologetic gore.
@@InZane393There's no way I was just about to say the same thing. Also I would recommend him to listen to the ecstasy of Gold from the same movie, pure masterpiece
I know you said like Vito to his son Sonny just for fun. But I think somebody had the right to like or don’t like something The reason that why they don’t like is the most important. I am living in a country that had no right to like or dislike something and I like this theme. Good day !
You can clearly hear Sicily in this Masterpiece. The simplicity and the fact that a real Italian is getting Goosebumps for literally an hour after the Music stopped is remarkable. Grazie
Just imagine this tune when you are sad, happy, crazy, in a romantic mood, serious mood... very few songs or tune in this world can reflect all these moods. This is one such melody
"The Godfather" theme composed by Nino Rota is indeed a timeless masterpiece. Its orchestral arrangement captures the essence of the film's atmosphere and emotions remarkably well. It's no wonder that it's widely regarded as one of the greatest film scores of all time. Love it, the best music connection with the movie I have watched. Thank you
I love reading the comments on this video. No swearing, no personal attacks, just people sharing memories of watching The Godfather with their parents. ❤
The Godfather just about had it all. Great actors, great script, great story, great scenes, great quotes, and this, a great theme score of music to accompany it all. This movie was just great. Never to be surpassed in my opinion - the greatest set of movies ever made. Godfather II in my book probably the greatest single movie ever made in fact.
people talks about titanic great oscar movies, but I feel godfather series is best ever movies I ever seen, if u understand a soul of plot of this. very closest to my soul. I used to hear godfather theme music every day to relax my mind and soul. I don't know what people feel about this movies. My mother took me to watch this movie when I was 15, in 1985. At first I didn't want but I really thank her to have bring me to the cinema. Now she's gone I only have the memories of those moments. Rest in peace mum...

I am 24 years old now, watched this movie a year ago for the very first time and it was pure cinematic masterpiece, what a story, direction, acting all things top notch. That's why after 50 years this movie is still the best. I have learnt so much from this movie. This is the actual cinema which cinephiles loves to watch!!!!
Don Corleone: "Luca, I want you to find out more about this Danish National Symphony Orchestra, I heard they are playing our music. It doesn't make any difference to me what people do for a living, but why didn't they come to me first?"
Still, I want them destroyed! I want to enjoy that rare satisfaction of seeing my enemies in ruin then be the last thing they ever beheld as their blood gushes up their throats out the mouths and noses! Their final thought would be "I shouldn't have done that" while I went on to enjoy all the pleasure of being alive has to offer, knowing them dead bastards rotting away, wishing they hadn't done what they did!
I think people in those professions have odd personalities to begin with. I agree with your observation. Every detail should be looked at when making a masterpiece. @@petesaria-hf1xh
"I believe in America. America has made my fortune. And I raised my daughter in the American fashion. I gave her freedom but I taught her never to dishonor her family. She found a boyfriend, not an Italian. She went to the movies with him. She stayed out late. I didn't protest. Two months ago he took her for a drive, with another boy friend. They made her drink whiskey and then they tried to take advantage of her. She resisted. She kept her honor. So they beat her, like an animal. When I went to the hospital her nose was broken. Her jaw was shattered, held together by wire. She couldn't even weep because of the pain. But I wept. Why did I weep? She was the light of my life. A beautiful girl. Now she will never be beautiful again."
You must make them pay! Cut thier dick's and tongues out of there body!! and shove them up their ass, and make sure you break their spine to crippled them! This way they will always remember what they did was wrong, and you and your daughter will get Justice!

The Godfather soundtrack is the one movie soundtrack that nearly pushes me to tears just because of the raw beauty of the music. There's a pristine and clear flow in the rhythms, the dynamics send chills down my spine, and the crescendo and diminuendos create a heavy sort of flying feeling. Like a bird leaving the nest and falling mid-life before regaining itself. Holy Crap! 139 likes?! Thats the most any comment of mine has been liked! Was not expecting that! Thank you everyone! Ok. To be honest, I've never had this many likes on a comment before. Thank you all so much for the support and kind words. I truly do appreciate your messages. And holy cow! 746 likes? That's amazing!

I was listening to it with tears. Remembering my parents, aunt, cousin and grandparents, who passed away. Missing them a lot. This music reminds me of those beautiful days that we spent , love they gave me.
Stupid cameraman. Whenever other instruments play, he turns the camera that way. But when the artists start playing the cello, the cameraman does not turn the camera to those who play the cello.
The Godfather is virtually the only movie filmed in the 60's and 70's that looks and feels modern, like it was made last year. I think it's because the storytelling, directing, lighting, cinematography, editing, cating, acting, depiction of vilence and music ... were so iconic and influential, many movies still use the same techniques today.
Most people see paramount remastering it as a cash grab which in a way it was, but on the other hand it has brought so much more clarity to it so like you said it looks like it was released in a more modern era but still hasn’t lost its quality from decades of it being part of American film history
Good point. But don't neglect Barry Lyndon (compare it to The Favourite, for example). Sure there are some more examples. The Sergio Leone westerns come to mind.
"Now you come to me and say "Don Corleone give me justice." But you don't ask with respect. You don't offer friendship, you don't even think to call me Godfather"
@@ignacio27 Someday, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me. But until that day, accept this justice as a gift on my daughter's wedding day.
@@TheGreatDearLeaderJimPickens I want you to use all your powers and all your skills. I don't want his mother to see him this way. Look how they massacred my boy.
I am an Italian American whos parents and grandparents came to this Country with a dream of a new beginning . People don't realize what it was like to get on a boat with everything you have and make that journey. I will always treasure that and the hard work that followed to success. Eliss Island and everything that went with it . amazing .
Of Irish heritage mostly here. My family came here with $11 and nothing else. They could never go back to Ireland and see their family, they were too poor. They worked in the mines of Pennsylvania until very recently, when my grandparents could get out, start a business in Connecticut. My father was the first person in his family to go to college
This masterpiece helped me to feel powerful again when I was lying in bed with no ability to stand on my feet after my scoliosis surgery with extreme pain. I used to listen it a lot in my hospital days. It has something magical with bittersweet taste.
