If you wonna counter/outplay any champion, you need to understand his kit and their Cd, this is Obvious for everyone but none do it properly.. also if you keep zed in lane and keep it 0/0 both u are actually winning it :)
Get into the review my friend, and see which aspect you failed to execute upon. Was it the maintaining of tempo/lane control, was it not staying healthy enough in lane and giving him kill windows? or maybe you were not alternating your dodging patterns
@@tranquangthienphuoc Actually Galio is a squishy for Zed. Galio’s kits cannot mitigate Zed’s damage really well.

Yeah, using your CC directly behind you like that can really limit Zed's options and prevent him from AA'ing you down.

Yea yone spells trouble for A LOT of people, definitely understandable aha once he gets his boots or vamp scept he is almost non trade-able x')
If you play an ad assassin into him try serpent's fang, it really helps with the all ins later into the game. Nemessis was getting destroyed and complaining about the fang earlier today.

Zil is pretty fun into him as well for counter picks. Less control over the game but shuts zed down in and out of lane. Easy double bomb set up off yourself if he ults you. Can naturally itemize armor and HP with everfrost+seekers

hi coach curtis! been watching u forever and love all your vids. I don’t play much mid anymore, but wouldn’t it be a legitimate use to use ignite as zed around lvl 3 to force the enemy out of lane. if you chunk them low that early it gives you a roam timer, tempo, and since you most likely won’t be using ignite again until lvl6 it would be up back that? is there a down side to the zed doing this (unless enemy has tp)?
Zed needs access to ignite at lvl 6, and also Zed usually can't poke someone out of lane at lvl 3 with ignite because the enemy will still have pots

What do you feel about Sylas or Ekko as counters? They weren't mentionned in the video, but I play zed a lot and both are problematic for me, especially sylas. They both have a low CD mobility spell so they are hard to hit on the W-E-Q combo and Sylas has CC and sustain too.
Also very usefull video as always. I think knowing how to counter Zed will improve my Zed since I will know what good players will try to do to punish me.

One thing i have never understood about tethering: if you always have to stay ot of range (like zed r or w) , then doesnt that mean that he can just walk up and zone you since you always have to back up? How do you punish zed for that? As cassio for example im always getting zoned because i just have to back off if zed walks up... Pls help
listen first of all if u tether perfectly the enemy zed will think ur in range and try to hit lets say fro example his Q then since ur just ou of range or awaiting for it u can dodge it and it will go on cd then its his turn to play safer since he used his ability
plus most zed will use their abilities randomly on the wave or try to hit you every second

Ok i see what you mean but that only works for skillshots, what about point and click abilities?
The only advantage i can see in tethering point and click spells is that this is the closest you can get to someone without getting attacked which puts you in a position to punish his mistakes easier since ur as close to him as possible. Or am i missing something?
Tethering will help you avoid the skill shot when it inevitably comes out, eventually Zed will use his W forwards and go for a combo, and if you are alternating your dodging patterns and tethering appropriately this will allow you to create a counter trading window.
Remember, this is where thinning waves with AA's in the mean time is crucial, because Zed at some point will either Q the wave inwhich you can thin waves easily OR get frustrated that you are thinning the wave with AA's and go for the combo.
It is hard to tether as Cassio because your range is so low, so in this case you have to be creative with your dodging patterns,movement and faking of AA's/abilities to minimize the lane and scale, kind of being proactively reactive. If you hold the wave on your side/in the middle, Zed will die to a gank post 6 quite easily

I have been struggling with my league identity for the past year and i can't seem to fix the issue, let me give a backstory.
I have been a hard katarina main almost a onetrick for 3 seasons - season 7- season 10, my peak rank was platinum 1 79 % wr ( kat onetricking) , then i got perma banned due to toxicity and kinda took a break off katarina and tried to expand my midlane champ pool to ( Syndra, Cassiopea, Ekko) and i did 3 trick them into again platinum 2 65% wr, then i needed to QUIT league for a month due to personal life issues, after that i came back with a new fresh mentality of wanting to master my secondery role which is adc, then i went on to play adc for the past like 8 months but i cant seem to get out of platinum with adc and i keep having these mental shift where i go back to playing midlane again then adc again and i just cant decide beetween the 2 roles. I keep playing both mid and adc, and yesterday i played 5 katarina ranked games where i literally stomped every single game hard carrying.
Im lost beetween a final decision.
Do i keep playing ADC or do i go back to hard onetricking katarina (MID)???
Even after i put in the pros and cons of both roles i cant seem to decide cause i enjoy both, but i know the key of high elo is deciding for one only and mastering it completely.
Can you do a video on how to choose counterpicks? I'm a very low elo player and recently went against a lissandra, and, since no one in low elo picks lissandra other than in urf, it was my first time against her and I didn't know what to pick. I went talon and fed, that is basically why I would like to see a video showing how to counter pick or something
What do you think about rushing seekers into lost chapter into kindlegem from everfrost? And what do you think about everfrost overall
I think everfrost overall is very good into burst oriented assassins, especially with the HP from kindle gem combined with resistances from seekers, super valuable

Hey Coach, can you give an advice for versing Zed as a low range mage like Ryze or Cass? Feel like whit Ori is a little bit easier to not get in range but as something like Ryze he can zone you pretty hard (at least in my experience).

OR as Ryze you can use your offence as your defense and trade your Hp for the wave and consatntly tempo reset

Yo coach, do you think xerath is broken? I win like almost every game with him in high plat. How come? Is he very strong or is it me that's good with him? My winrate on him is 60% in 120 games

Hey Curtis, reached diamond with your zed guide in EUW last season, i gotta say i didnt appreciate this vod at all... anyways, as Zed i find myself in the same situation in all of my games, so i trade pre 6, and at lvl 4 or 5 i get to the point where i used ignite and the ennemy laner (barrier and heal down) is at 1 flash away from death (aa). My question is, should i let them flash away and keep a flash advantage or should i kill and let them have the flash advantage ? What are your thoughts ?

Hey bezos, i one tricked qiyana about 500 games last season, long range wave clear is The simplest solution to keep qiyana on leash, If you wanna play tho, champs who can proc aftershock on trade are good, or champ like fizz, can e, since qiyana trades in short bursts, aftershock is great to tank her full combo, or fizz e is good because If qiyana wants to heavy trade she needs to full commit, fizz e denies all of that
In my personal experience Diana is a good pick against her
The best picks into qiyana ale range champs with a very good waveclear, who csn push her ubder turret and punish for roams. I personally hate playing against neeko, anivia, Vladimir (he wins lane after 6, and u cant do shit about it), heimerdinger. Galio is pretty decent with an early game jungler, because u can kill qiyana over and over. I believe lissandra should be a devent pick as well, but i havent experienced this match up yet
I played 5 games vs qyiana with annie, 5 wins. Just harass her when you can and buy everfrost.

Ive been enjoying the videos a lot, even though Ive only started playing league this week. Can you do a video on how to improve mechanically?
Some quick tips: try to learn how to play unlocked screen, use quick cast and get used to it. The best tip is to just play more and figure out how to play the champions you like to play! League is a difficult game, mechanics will improve as you play more.

Train with aimboost, 90%+ mechanical things are click and mouse movement related. It's the most important thing

I am a Galio main and I always struggling to get farm safely against Zed. I will take the WEQ damage whenever I try to auto the minions. And it is hard for me to land my combo afterwards. That cause me to give up the lane priority, the roaming potential and lots of farm as well just for surviving through the lane.
Is there any tips to make this thing a bit better? I think it is not an easy matchup but I am not willing to auto-lose 40 CS against Zed every time.
You need to fake the AA's and bait out the combo, you can't make your movements very slow and linear.

BTW, is it better to start with corrupting potion (with time warp) against Zed than start with Doran’s ring? I feel it gives me some extra sustain but the wave clear is a bit weaker.

Then you likely have tools to either avoid the combo with mobility or with sheer durability

@@rookeyji5177 Haha I know, but I wanted to know how to play against them with sylas. Just played a match and died 3x for Yone in lane. The dps is so big and the damage so insane that even with sylas I couldn't do anything and i was also controlling the wave to get me safer :( You have any tips ?
@@RA-LT maybe you can consider going for tp and q max and call for ganks as well. Keep in mind of yones E cooldown too since that hes main engage tool. Save your E dash for his Q dash you cna also play for early seekers too and get as much cs as possible. Let yone push to you you can do this buy letting him q the wave so bait him. Honeslty just wait for your powerspikes and map out how you trade. Like if you win at level 3 or 2 or for example like I said when yone q you E to dodge stuff like that. Just review your VOD because there isnt some magic advice I can give you that can win your lane it really depends on you so hit that VOD up and see your mistakes.

@@rookeyji5177 I've been seen some replays of people and it's basically it, focus on csing (which I really need to learn, I'm terrible XD) and roaming to get plays. Basically focus on getting yourself good for the late game

Although the match up is Zed favoured, Katarina is actually my least bad champion vs him. As with many match ups, you have kill threat (especially with conqueror) on the Zed levels 2-5. You have to just push through his initial burst as after his combos he has nothing left, and you can run him down. Post 6 things are a lot more difficult as his R gives him a lot of safety and kill threat. Tracking his ultimate is extremely important as without it, you kill him no problem, but with it he can simultaneously dodge your damage and increase his. Waiting in the river after a Zed roam has resulted in a few kills. Although Seekers is awful now, Zhonyas is still excellent for Katarina so there is that, also Katarina has better teamfight potential due to her massive AoE and resets so as weird as it is as an assassin, doing nothing is a viable way to deal with Zed as Katarina. I have yet to test running exhaust and ignite vs Zed but from my testing so far it seems like this could tilt the match up for Katarina as it has worked vs Annie and other burst focused champions, unfortunately vs wind shitter 2 it wasn't successful as he is disgustingly broken and anyone with hands can carry with that abomination. I would be interested in a video of how to execute Camille mid vs assassins, I have not played her much (and without much success except for shredding towers and one shotting ADCs in top lane) but I see how she could be good in the mid lane as a counter.

Coach, I was playing a Syndra and an experienced Zed counterpicked me. Dude could kill me under my own tower and run away. Syndra is such a scaling champ, I'm not sure how to play against that. I went 0/7. He killed me a handful of times before I even hit level 6.

@@W1ndyyyyyyyy not really, u cant poke yone, he will sustain it back, on top of that his trading post 3 is ultra op, cant outtrade him as a mage
@@kapmeister5735 He has practically 0 sustain at the start except for fleet footwork, which is honestly not enough. If he gets Scepter, you can just farm safe since he doesn’t have a low cooldown on his Q.
