Do one on talon, zed has a counter on times, you just build seekers and he does no dmg,but talon just pushes you in and never lanes with you, then roams and wins the game
Only suggestion so far is do this for every champion in time as not only is it great for how to counter champions, it also tells you as a player of that champion how people counter you giving you more of an idea of what you could do to stop them.
@@kooldudematt1 True finally someone who says it. I recently have been playing ofa and half of the players are called yasuo but suck ass. Literally hyper inting till min 15 then afk.
@@kooldudematt1 because there are an equal amount of bad players just feeding the heck out of yasuo as well... I would love a "how to counter yasuo" guide, so that every time someone complains about him I can just link them the video.
@@puppetmaster8514 That's true but low elo players can't deal with him.. I saw adcs just sitting on one place and let Zed make his combo on them.. No flash, no positioning just sitting on one place and complain about zed being broken

I'm just pissed by someone being so annoying
One thing to remember when timing his W: his W CD gets reduced by 2 seconds for every champion hit by his E. So when setting up a gank, don't get surprised when he's able to W away if you waited a few seconds after his W was on CD and let him land some E's on both of you.
And most important tip: Report your adc, for trying to right click Zed in the river bush in the end of laning phase. No matter what elo your playing , your adc will try to 1 v1 zed in the river bush when rotation start (trust me i've played zed)
Applies to all assassins. Told my friend who played adc this fizz 10% hp will oneshot him, he shouldn’t fight him. He said no i have flash heal ult (xayah) and hes almost dead. Guess what happened. The 10% Fizz thanos snapped him with ult q e.
if you are playing zed here are a few tips from a plat-dia zed main: Dont get greedy. Almost every matchup is unplayable pre 3 as they said. It doesnt really matter if you dont get the lasthits at those early lvls. Its a very common mistake to get greedy for the lasthit and then eat a lot of dmg by some basics and/or an ability. After you hit 3 try to hit your combo and take your switch if they throw out an ability. Dont go all in unless they use their abilities. If you do go in they generally outtrade you as their combo does about the same dmg as yours does but they get to basic you a couple times after you back off which is just free dmg. It all depends on their current hp but generally speaking you dont want to all in with your first combo. Poke them and if they do use their abilities, dodge them and go all in. You will at least get a flash. Dont throw your W directly at them. Try to throw it a bit left or right of them. This way you will hit your Qs way more often as they are harder do dodge when they come from 2 angles instead of one when you throw your W directly at them. Pressure them. Sometimes not using your W is key. If they play very safe dont get greedy for the kill. Just zone them away from the wave so they miss gold and maybe even xp. If they get greedy go all in. And always look at the wave. Big wave is bad to w into. Only do it if u are guranteed a kill
Patience is a very great general tip honestly. It applies differently on any class, like assassins want to be patient with their all-ins, while control mages want to hold their key cc-abilities. Sitting back and being patient about my actions is what actually helped me the most in League
@Albanian Byzantine Tagmata i Think its just absolut the fact that zed is just really frustrating to play against xd. Let's be real. I never ban Zed even though I might lose the lane to him because I know once we reach a curtain minute he becomes pretty useless and I can avoid him roaming and getting big leads. But I can really understand his point of view. I'm currently plat,so low elo too and if I climb in the future I'm actually really scared to let zed open once his player base in diamond+ has mastered him at least mechanically. I actually think I'll need to ban him then xd
This was the most educational video you guys have produced. Not the other's weren't educational, don't get me wrong. Please do more of these. It can help so many idiots like me learn what a champ actually wants to do especially when playing a role/champ you're not familiar with. Not only are you teaching the counter, but also how to play the champ by teaching what they want to achieve in lane and, to a lesser extent, in game. Thank you sooo much for this video! I cannot wait to practice this in game! If you could do Yasuo soon it'll be great!
This gave me a really good understanding of how to play against Zed. However, it also gave me an understanding of his weaknesses, so now I can go and play around them the next time I pick him.
As a Zed main, I'd like to correct the fact about Zed shadow at 2:23. Zed shadow 's E also apply the slow, thats why Zed mains usually E when casting shadow before casting Q.
what an amazing video! Please make more of these! Zed has been a problem for me for the last few years (im an ahri main) and the only real counterplay i had was to try and charm him when he ults. Thank you all so much. No more zed bans from me!
none of this matters, Zed's not dangerous because of his kit, he's dangerous because of his ultimate: you can deny him all you want, but once he gets a serrated dirk and level 6, you're done.
@@jordanmcree2603 assuming that u are ranged u will have better farm than him bcs u can bully him before that u can actually take armor runes and rush seekers and u should be good
@@jordanmcree2603 Also, his ult is easy to counter if you have cc - take cassio for example: if he ults you he’s guaranteed to appear the opposite side of where he ulted from, so you can time Cassio R to cc him and then throw your w down so he can’t tp to a clone
This is a great guide. You did mention that zed ult appears behind you 11:27, but I think you could include more examples of counterplay vs this specific interaction. A lot of champions can easily time their CC and skillshots against a zed ult and they won't ever need to flash; For example, if zed ults ahri when ahri has charm up, zed will appear behind ahri (or any champion) 100% of the time, so ahri lands a guaranteed charm/ CC /damage onto zed. Of course, the mind games come in when the zed knows you know about this interaction, so they might spam flash right after they ult to dodge the cc and still try to kill you (like people do when coming out of zhonyas). Still worth mentioning though. Also you could include more examples of when Zed went even, so once players go against stronger zeds they won't fall on their face after stomping zeds for so long.
3:33 a good zed will accept that he will be harass by AA and he will try everything that he can to farm with the shuriken by far 11:31 zed will reappear at the oposite side from where he ults not always behind 12:15 this is the window where EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW when playing against zed when zed ult he was a CD to go back to his R shadow so when he ult you throw everything you have on the side where zed reapear the only thing zed can do againt this strategy is to flash away or using his W shadow i never see any guide explaining this
Okay so I didnt see this video on skillcapped, but I think its really awesome and helpful. The only thing I missed were taking boneplating as a rune and maybe coutermatchups (but we all know, that all mages have a hard time against him except lissandra). I really needed this guide, because I also struggle against him, but always use my ban on Kassadin. Speaking of which, that would be my recommendation for the next counter guide, because I also have problems playing against Kassadin with traditional mages and ap meeles. I hope to see more of these guides, because this was super informative and entertaining to watch.
Real talk. This applies to Zed, Riven, and Fizz in particular, but back in my super early days of League I absolutely hated these three with a passion. As I learned more and more about the game I discovered what was probably the biggest wake up call in the form of realizing I didn't have to get kills in lane to be effective; CS was fine or even better in some cases. By learning to play safer in lane, I stopped giving these champions kills early on, and that, in turn, led me to realize just how much easier to deal with they become when coming out of lane 0/0/0. They're like a whole different champion.
You can counter this by tracking the enemy jungler and stay closer to the opposite side and then ward the raptors. If the jungler has taken raptors then hes on the opposite side of the map. When you recall, buy control wards and ward the river and dont die to ganks. When the jungler has revealed himself on map you can play aggressive
Really useful. I came here because as far as I don't don't die or lose CS, I very ofter fall behind in kill/assist as Zed has priority in lane and roams successfully. Thank you.
Thank you for this! As a zed main, I can see where I can optimize my gameplay and counter their counters. Seems like a bigger challenge now, though! Haha.
Some things I want to say as a Diamond Zed player: Saying that you have to dodge the Qs coming from his shadows with a movement ability or flash, while not dodging Zed Q ( he is in melee ) is the right call, but Zed can just R on top of you, then WE in you. Now you are slowed for more than normal slow ( 2 Zed Es hitting together gives extra slow ) and now he has himself and 1 shadow in melee range, which makes it hard to dodge. It was never mentinoned that Zed can E with his shadow up for a second time. Even after he goes for WEQ Some Zed players, knowing that you want to create distance during his E, waiting for his Q, will just WQ then E, since you will be moving straight, awaiting the undodgable E, not the Q. It was also never mentioned how effective exhaust is against Zed R. You can reduce the damage of his triple Q, even when he casts it immediately after ulting and his ult. One small thing, is that his Zed E ( not shadow ) reduces his W CD by 2 seconds, though it doesn't really matter in lane. One interesting fact, is that since Zed R stores pre-mitigation damage, which means using Irelia W to block his triple shuriken, doesn't mean that his ult will do less. It actually guarantees him the triple Q, since you are not moving. The "push in so he can't roam strat" is actually not that good. It requires the Zed to use his W and not have the wave cleared already. He can literally just hold W until he fully pushes. It makes it so his waveclear is a bit slower but it's fine for him. Like, he either Ws to one shot the wave, or he doesn't W. Getting you lower doesn't matter since he will roam.
Play ryze or lissandra, when she goes on u, do a full rotation of spells before she is free to move (u need to land ur cc), aftershock is a must, specially on liss. U can play cassio into her, but u are kinda squishy, and she can dodge ur q kinda easily, so better to play something with point and click or aoe cc.
Leblanc wave clear early is so hard and costly. Playing a strong pushing champion like Malz, Morgana, Rumble, anyone with tiamat,... Will make her unable to play the game till she gets Ludens. Because that's the time she can clear caster with W with Ludens proc ready.
@@Mago.- Aftershock is garbage on Lissandra and electro has 4% more win rate. People who r insecure to play her without Aftershock should honestly just drop her.
Play champs that: Out range her Have high mobility to dodge her E/ her Q W combo Have the same burst or even higher Have DPS (Lucian) - LB is good at bursting but terrible at doing DPS Have good sustain to handle her poke Can push fast, easy farming (Heim, Malz, Morg, Ryze) and you don't even need to fight her She's an assassin. She falls off late game. You don't need to stomp her in laning phase to win.
It's basically the same video. Her W has a long cooldown, you need to understand that once you get a Q on you, you need to wait for the mark to disappear and BUY DEFENSIVE ITEMS.
Hey ive been using these guides for years and have learned so much from them. I finally have time because of the quarantine and am thinking about subscribing. Should I do my placements first, or should I just sign up?
Yeah, I always played more tanky characters, and have recently switched to mid and I’m getting absolutely demolished by Zed. He was never a concern before with his silly shurikens but now I am afraid. Hence why I’m here.
Love this style of video, please make more! Personally, I find Vayne incredibly difficult to Lane against. She seems to deal insane damage and burst early, mid and late, and it's hard to zone her out of CS. I imagine top lanes would also appreciate a Vayne counter guide!
As a zed main, this is much appreciated! Now i understand what others can do to slow me down. Looking out for these things works both ways in my mind :)
For zed mains: taste of blood helps sustain against the poke. exhaust is good to cripple enemy mobility even more (and their damage) when you R and combo, making it easier to land Q's. Q minion wave early to get minion advantage and level 2 first, with which you W Q Aa to get enemy down to 50-60% hp. Then constantly poke and zone them out. Just watch out for ganks at this stage. People dont' respect how much effort it takes to do good with Zed. I could just play Fizz or Leblanc who are simply point and click one-shots with 0 skill and minimal effort. While zed requires gEoMEtRy with his Q's for triple shuriken. For his R to do ANY damage whatsoever early game when enemy laner gets seeker's. I swear... Zed has tons of potential and a high skill ceiling. Champs like leblanc get the same result with a plain and simple Q W. i only mained zed because he was red, ninja-y, and spins when you spam laugh.... ;w; plus his voice is hekkin cool
What about if the enemy midlaner follows this? (my guide vs zed) Get armor in your mini runes Go inspiration perfect timing/resolve bone plating Get Seekers Zed will always re appear behind you or on his W right after ulting. Throw your cc there and root/stun/etc. him and he will instantly get killed. Get barrier Get exhaust if not barrier, since exhaust lasts for 3 seconds (the time zed r shurken is on top of you, and the damage will be heavily reduced which is very good.) Zeds tend to quickly through out there combos, a quick dash, flash, etc will make them miss (only for when they throw our very fast combos) Just stack armor LOL If you happen to face conq zed, don't fight him melee matchup lvl 2 EVEN if you are yasuo, Zed just beats you when he has Conqueror unless he is a trashbag. Stay behind minions or anynthing that could take dmg before you, since Zed's Q dmg is heavily reduced if he lands it on something before it hits you. Play Nocturne Play malphite (You can still fucking one shot zed even if he is 500 gold ahead of you, because zed's dont build resistance since they need their POWERSPIKE ASAP_ Play talon, talon is better than zed at everything. Trading, wave clear, roaming, dueling, everything, only flaw is late game but that's it. If you are an adc, don't split farm in a side lane alone, get a tank support that has cc like Leona, Nautilus, etc. Everybody who mains mid should know this, and if u don't u are probably below gold. and you say take exhaust but it's simply not necessary. and plus the enemy midlaner might take exhaust since it literally counters zed
@@viletic I don't get your point. But if you're just trying to say Zed is weak as hell. Then I completely agree. Everyone over-exaggerates how 'strong' Zed is despite there being literally a bajillion ways to counter him while some champs *cough* fizz *cough* you just can't counter unless the Fizz player is braindead. There are so many other champs that are just better than Zed in every way at winning games that I could spam to climb easily, but I don't. *Cough* Kassadin *cough* (*cough* first 2 games with him in ranked I go 15/3 *cough* not broken *cough*). I lost lane to a Yasuo who went Sunfire cape first item. There was LITERALLY nothing I could do in lane by myself. Yasuo took 0 damage, and dealt more damage despite his only item being Sunfire cape. My entire R combo with triple shuriken landing did 20% of his health despite there not being a single minion in the way either. No he didn't have exhaust or barrier, not even tabis. Just one item can destroy Zed's early game. Not to mention, there's literally an item, Zhonyas Hourglass, that PERFECTLY counters Zed. O-oh what's that? There's more? Barrier counters pretty much Zed's entire combo? O-oh even more? Exhaust counters Zed's entire R combo because it lasts as long as his R does so he deals 40% less damage? lol where was I going with this again. I don't know so... I guess have a good day!
@@viletic ikr Like zeds even at a weak point right now. Has been since season 9 nerfed that removed R rep. He lost so much damage from that. Only good thing I'd QoL change letting you reactivate W at a larger range
For Talon, hard push the wave. Usually control mages get rid of him single-handedly. Respect his level 2. Abuse his W cooldown. Place wards. Itemization is pretty much the same as the one mentioned in the video. This video covers AD assassins in general. The Zed-specific parts are the ones where they mention his abilities. The rest can be applied to other assassins. Talon is much simpler than Zed, but the game plan is similar. They have many videos on assassins in general, and they are very helpful. As for Yasuo, I really can't tell for sure, since he's a skill champ in a similar fashion to Akali, so game plans against him are as complex as this video.
Great guide, loved this type of content. Do a Yasuo or Fizz counter guide next. Asking for a friend who literally always starts ranting when he has to go against Teemo, Zed, Yasuo and Fizz.
Extremely detailed guide! It's fantastic but the is more tailored towards a control Magee vs Zed and not the other lane opponents in the mid lane. Although the same concepts apply, I would have liked to seen how the lane plays a bit different when it is bruisers or melee champions into Zed as opposed to ranged. Great video overall and I would love to see more.
Me playing vs yasuo: Okay, so I'm just gonna shove this wave into turret so I can recall, since the next wave is a cannon wave... *yasuo stays and clears the entire cannon wave over 4 seconds, then takes 2 plates while the entire wave might already be dead by the time I get back due to how fast he shoved* The berserker's greaves powerspike is something man...
Zed relies heavily on his q for dmg so unless he is fed, he has to land those to hurt u. Also, If u play a weak early game champ exhaust shuts zed down. If u are an adc phantom dancer and ga make his job harder and if u are mid rush seekers>zhonyas and If necessary ninja tabi. Zed also heavily relies on his w so try to engage him while it's down. This is coming from a zed main so trust me, u can easily counter.
Hmm originally, I (Zed) push my lane as much as I could when I dont have my lvl 3 combo then go back buy boots and other offensive items then I try to combo using W-E-AA(until the enemy is out of range then I throw my Q) it's either the enemy will run away (with low hp) or he will fight back (trading but you still have an hp advantage) until you force him to use his burst high-cd skills and dodge it with R (this way the enemy will either flash to dodge your Q or use his zhonyas) If he dodge your Q ysing flash just flash onto him and keep on AA and use ignite. If he used his zhonyas without his jungler at his side then he's pretty much dead because you'll wait for him to use his zhonyas then burst him with autos and ignite. Ps sorry for my bad english
A character I always hate playing against is Darius, sustain, damage over time, a grab, a slow, and a reset on his ult just makes it feel like I'm playing a losing lane even when i killed him 3 times and have 50 cs on him :/
@@maseywat For me mord isn't nearly as bad. He works very similarly to Zed. Don't get hit by his q by yourself, side step his e and don't all in if he has his w maxed out.
Darius is impossible to catch if he runs Ghost and Nimbus cloak. For whatever reason, he can E you to him and run away and somehow that stuns you for so long that you're out of range for a gap closer even though he's using it in a completely unintuitive manner. I really think his E should not be an escape tool.
As a zed main, I really enjoy seeing this video cause it shows the counter play potential that I need to watch out for. I do like this video, but it also scares me. However, I play very passive focus on farming in the early levels because of people doing this so often to me. However in the combos you showed and the situations you created, you didn't really show his passive off and how much damage it does. It's so important in his killing potential that even at level 3, hitting his combo isn't necessary if his W-P-E is good enough. It definitely helps with dodging the main source, but be careful below 60-50 range cause sometimes even one Q or W>P>E will be more than enough to have the lane switch into Zed's favor.
This guide was great. I just have one question. Lets say we win level 1 and 2, and crash a big minion wave on level 3 and poking him down while he farms. Lets even say, in ideal case, we get a solo kill on him at level 4 or 5, and we recall and buy seekers armguard or dorans ring and boots or cloth armor (depending on an amount of gold). We get back into the lane both score level 6 and the wave was even in the center of the lane. What if Zed desides to zone us of the lane just by walking up to us and pressuring us with potential W engage, followed up by his ulti. We cant shield ourselves from his Q with minions and we cant play more aggresive because his W isnt on cooldown, and we cant push the wave since he is pressuring us? We can play safe under turret, getting some CS we can get safely, but that gives Zed a free time to roam to our jungle or sides lanes. And lets face it, our junglers usually dont help even if we asked them. What should we do then?
as it was said, place vision and try to grab as much cs you can while communicating with your team to tell them that zed's on his way (cuz even if they have vision in the river on him, they'll blame you cuz they didn't check their map) and try to work with your jungler as much as possible, and if you have a willing toplaner, maybe you can laneswap with him, because zed most certainly will accept to swap with his toplaner, the toplane is a bad spot for him, he has little opportunity to roam. That's all i can think of right now
I could tell no good zed mains were involved in the making of this guide when the video said "start hitting the minions immediately at lvl1". That's just opposite of what you want to be doing against zed.
@@Prophet347 yeah, by doing that we force him into a decision: does he want to use his abilities to harass or to reset the wave so that he can last hit more easily?
There are 57 zed mains disliked this video ... Skill Capped is the BEST channel I've ever seen :D. Can you teach us how to fight DPS-Tanks such as Garen and Darius? Even Diamond+ Yasuo sometimes doesn't execute this matchup correctly, and due to the buff Rito has given to those brain dead champs, meelee carries players keep screaming
Tried it, only thing that works from this video is staying behind minions to mitigate damage. But when Zed ults you, you will not "dodge by avoiding the Q from the furthest caster". It happens instantly, the E will slow you and there is no way to avoid the damage other than zhonya.
There is no counter , when you play against sett you just have to buy Qss and pretend he doesn't exist in fights , just DON'T EVER FOCUS HIM , run past him and kill his team , like he is not there , don't hit him , never hit him unless he is 100% alone .
I can't believe people are scared of Zed. I as a Zed main think its gets countered by every champion and needs a buff. It's just fun to play with at least
@@viletic i think u should stop trying to be cool and use your tools correct and u will be climb to gold fast.(easy double kill, no reason to use flash, shield was wasted to poor panic clicking)
What do you mean it is hard and not fair to lane against Zed? He is one of the weakest, if not the weakest midlaner right now. Q does no dmg when you stand behind minions, e dmg in early is pathetic and melee and w has super high cd. You get seekers and he cant kill you in 1v1. Low elo players cant play him anyways so just let him open and get your free win
If you don't know what you're doing, Zed is very oppressive. This guide is made for people who want to know how to beat Zed in lane if they have trouble laning vs him (that's why he always has a high ban rate in low elo as well). It's also great for perfecting your Zed match-up too!
As a zed main if you are playing zed dont put your shadow directly in front of you. Put it to the left of opponent and they wont know where to dodge, if you have the space. If they flash to dodge it has to be towards you or you’ll hit them. That wayyou AA and land e’s
(TL;DR below) As a Zed 1 trick, I play my lane patiently and only use my abilities when punishing a mistake. I only use my Q to CS or thin out the wave to create a freeze. I make sure I space my opponent out while last-hitting to avoid being hit by their abilities. It's okay to let some CS go, it's just not worth getting chunked for 25-50% of your hp. I set up easy ganks for my jungler and punish my opponent for each and every mistake they make. If they walk up too close I'll chunk them with my WEQ combo, and it doesn't matter whether the Q's do reduced damage or not because I guarantee the kill by creating an easy 2v1 situation where my opponent is overextended and my jungler comes in for the easy gank. Once my opponent is dead, we hard shove the wave and I get a perfect recall. I get back to lane and the wave is in a perfect position where I sit back and let my opponent push the wave as they please. Again, I use the same tactic as before, and I freeze the wave in front of my turret, but this time I stand in front of my enemies minions where it is still safe for me but not for them. They're stuck under their turret out of fear of dying. If they even try to come up for CS or EXP, I all in them and make them pay for their mistake. Whether they die or are forced to recall due to having very low HP. I hard shove the wave and either look for a roam or if nothing is happening on the map, recall, and repeat. Through this tactic alone I'm usually 2-3 levels, and 30-50 cs ahead of my opponent. TL;DR You can't beat a good Zed with just these tactics alone. You also need damn good macro and wave management.
"hardshove the wave so that he's pinned at his tower" m8 that's literally what I do against every assassin I lane against but they all just ignore the wave xD and roam and magically get's free kills on my teammates.... I ping like a mad-man, but my teammates don't listen... I swear this is almost 90% of the time what happens and people say that "if you can't carry low elo you don't deserve higher rank" but those players refuse to listen, has zero map awareness and literally griefs the game by playing aggro when I ping and the assassin mid is missing... THe problem then doesnt become the assassin himself, because yes, he misses crucial experience and gold so he doesnt scale himself that well into mid game, however... his jungler and bot or topside (usually botside) becomes extremely snowballed because of this and he basically just hands them the win in their lanes and if let's say the enemy had a Jinx ADC or Riven top, the game is just over in my elo. If you wonder I'm silver 4 and I struggle with the most is what to do in reaction to my own teammates having no map awareness and literally handing the enemy team kills! Especially if I play an assassin myself. If I become fed on an assasssin, my teammates expect me to be the one to engage the fight only because I'm 5/0/3 and got a Tripple kill.... So lets say I perfectly counter everything in the lane phase, mid game then if they enemy team is just slightly good they will match and drag the game out, scale and my teammates will throw every fight! Maybe I'm playing the wrong champion? I like to play Katarina. Anyway good video otherwise :D
no this is how you really flex uh I mean counter Zed...First you pick Azir in champ select then you slow push the waves every single time, he won't be able to do anything, then when he ults you you ult him back to his shadow, then you use the thumbs up emoji because just neutralized his all in and you outscale him, then after the game has concluded you write in chat "Zed counters Azir btw xd". Collect your free LP from the Zed and move on. No I totally didn't make this comment bc I am a salty Azir one trick that keeps hearing that Zed counters my champ even though it's the other way around. :P
You've never been against a good Zed if you think all it takes is a Zhonyas. Besides, there are so many squishy champions that Zhonyas isn't a good option on them.
Mato me for irelia don’t let your waves stack up just keep pushing them and don’t fight irelia when she is 5 stacks for Darius walk into the middle of his q if you can and don’t fight early unless you have a good champ for that
So a few things to mention after seeing this Video. 1) The strategy doesn't work for every champion/situation. Champions like Kassadin, Veigar, etc are going to have a hard time shoving the wave and getting XP advantages in the early game either due to poor wave clear or not being able to safely push. 2) You didn't really go into favourable/unfavourable matchups and specifically how they can deal with Zed (e.g. walking into your own cage as Veigar) or even more general tips like buying stopwatch I think assassins are the best starting point for this series. I reckon Fizz would be a good next champion to cover
Really helpful video. I always thought only 1 of zeds qs did damage but I guess its only his e. Now I realise I've been playing the lane wrong this whole time.

I guess I can ignore this video because you didn't say "trust me you don't wanna miss this one".
if you are playing zed here are a few tips from a plat-dia zed main:
Dont get greedy.
I _love_ it. Thank you for this extremely comprehensive guide! Would love to see more of its kind.

@Albanian Byzantine Tagmata i Think its just absolut the fact that zed is just really frustrating to play against xd. Let's be real. But I can really understand his point of view.
3:33 a good zed will accept that he will be harass by AA and he will try everything that he can to farm with the shuriken by far
11:31 zed will reappear at the oposite side from where he ults not always behind
12:15 this is the window where EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW when playing against zed when zed ult he was a CD to go back to his R shadow so when he ult you throw everything you have on the side where zed reapear the only thing zed can do againt this strategy is to flash away or using his W shadow i never see any guide explaining this
oh thanks for the last tip, i was wondering how Zed could instantly disappear after ult
Okay so I didnt see this video on skillcapped, but I think its really awesome and helpful.
The only thing I missed were taking boneplating as a rune and maybe coutermatchups (but we all know, that all mages have a hard time against him except lissandra).

They're like a whole different champion.
yea more of those next one for darius maybe i kinda know how to play this but so many people dont and its not bad to know it even better

In my head is playing "here comes the jungleeeer, JUNGLAH-JUNGLAH-JUNGLAH"
You can counter this by tracking the enemy jungler and stay closer to the opposite side and then ward the raptors. If the jungler has taken raptors then hes on the opposite side of the map. When you recall, buy control wards and ward the river and dont die to ganks. When the jungler has revealed himself on map you can play aggressive
Yeah, those guides always disregard the enemy jungler, as if you're playing 1v1.
Really useful. I came here because as far as I don't don't die or lose CS, I very ofter fall behind in kill/assist as Zed has priority in lane and roams successfully. Thank you.

Zed is way to easy to counter, as a zed main i only play him because no other champ has that fun gameplay and outplay potential
Some things I want to say as a Diamond Zed player:
Saying that you have to dodge the Qs coming from his shadows with a movement ability or flash, while not dodging Zed Q ( he is in melee ) is the right call, but Zed can just R on top of you, then WE in you. Now you are slowed for more than normal slow ( 2 Zed Es hitting together gives extra slow ) and now he has himself and 1 shadow in melee range, which makes it hard to dodge.
It was never mentinoned that Zed can E with his shadow up for a second time. Even after he goes for WEQ
Some Zed players, knowing that you want to create distance during his E, waiting for his Q, will just WQ then E, since you will be moving straight, awaiting the undodgable E, not the Q.
I hope u get aids coming from a zed main

Also, can you do a guide about countering Leblanc? She feels impossible to beat in Laning phase. Dash, root, escape, clone, high burst, etc
Play champs that:
Out range her
Have high mobility to dodge her E/ her Q W combo
Have the same burst or even higher
Have DPS (Lucian) - LB is good at bursting but terrible at doing DPS
Have good sustain to handle her poke
Can push fast, easy farming (Heim, Malz, Morg, Ryze) and you don't even need to fight her
She's an assassin. She falls off late game. You don't need to stomp her in laning phase to win.

Enermatrix play talon into her top hit 6 and burst her
As a zed main, this is much appreciated! Now i understand what others can do to slow me down. Looking out for these things works both ways in my mind :)
For zed mains:
taste of blood helps sustain against the poke.
exhaust is good to cripple enemy mobility even more (and their damage) when you R and combo, making it easier to land Q's.
Champs like leblanc get the same result with a plain and simple Q W.
i only mained zed because he was red, ninja-y, and spins when you spam laugh.... ;w;
plus his voice is hekkin cool
What about if the enemy midlaner follows this?
(my guide vs zed)
Get armor in your mini runes
Go inspiration perfect timing/resolve bone plating
Get Seekers
Zed will always re appear behind you or on his W right after ulting. Throw your cc there and root/stun/etc. him and he will instantly get killed.
Get barrier
Get exhaust if not barrier, since exhaust lasts for 3 seconds (the time zed r shurken is on top of you, and the damage will be heavily reduced which is very good.)
Zeds tend to quickly through out there combos, a quick dash, flash, etc will make them miss (only for when they throw our very fast combos)
Just stack armor LOL
If you happen to face conq zed, don't fight him melee matchup lvl 2 EVEN if you are yasuo, Zed just beats you when he has Conqueror unless he is a trashbag.
Stay behind minions or anynthing that could take dmg before you, since Zed's Q dmg is heavily reduced if he lands it on something before it hits you.
Play Nocturne
Play malphite (You can still fucking one shot zed even if he is 500 gold ahead of you, because zed's dont build resistance since they need their POWERSPIKE ASAP_
Play talon, talon is better than zed at everything.

Would love to see one of these for Yasuo or Talon

If he used his zhonyas without his jungler at his side then he's pretty much dead because you'll wait for him to use his zhonyas then burst him with autos and ignite.

A character I always hate playing against is Darius, sustain, damage over time, a grab, a slow, and a reset on his ult just makes it feel like I'm playing a losing lane even when i killed him 3 times and have 50 cs on him :/
For me morde is worse than Darius
Is hard to even fight a guy with a built-in ignite for passive
@@maseywat For me mord isn't nearly as bad. He works very similarly to Zed. Don't get hit by his q by yourself, side step his e and don't all in if he has his w maxed out.
Yeah Darius is a lot worse than Morde. Although you can have a chance against mordekaiser, Darius just skullfucks you
Darius is impossible to catch if he runs Ghost and Nimbus cloak.
That’s a deep question 🤔
as it was said, place vision and try to grab as much cs you can while communicating with your team to tell them that zed's on his way (cuz even if they have vision in the river on him, they'll blame you cuz they didn't check their map) and try to work with your jungler as much as possible, and if you have a willing toplaner, maybe you can laneswap with him, because zed most certainly will accept to swap with his toplaner, the toplane is a bad spot for him, he has little opportunity to roam. That's all i can think of right now
Hector working those guides OUT
WEQ on zed isnt even a true threat until level 4 when q starts to really hurt.
I could tell no good zed mains were involved in the making of this guide when the video said "start hitting the minions immediately at lvl1". That's just opposite of what you want to be doing against zed.

I can't believe people are scared of Zed. I as a Zed main think its gets countered by every champion and needs a buff. It's just fun to play with at least
Thanks for the tips and congrats for the excellent work!
How do you even need a video, it's called Stopwatch
how to counterstop watch. Fucking triple q as soon as the adc is out and laugh at that cancer item
I love it! Please do more of these.
How to counter Zed? Camille :D
yeah camille ua-cam.com/video/3lSw7QWGUaI/v-deo.html ^_^
@@viletic i think u should stop trying to be cool and use your tools correct and u will be climb to gold fast.(easy double kill, no reason to use flash, shield was wasted to poor panic clicking)
This comment gave me cancer as a zed main
@@tseax8454 that was norms with my irl friends lol. Id never attempt such srtupis atuff in nokrmks bro (just op.gg the garen on my team LOL.)
If she ulted u miss all q's then your R is gone like you 2,5 sec later xD
Great video, can we get a guide against Fizz next?
It’s to help people in the lower elos that have no idea what zed does. Anyone in higher ranks knows that he’s a big pile of poopy

Try Katarina. She is even worse than Zed. She can't do damage.
@@krustimolu348 ok troll gtfo kat is broken af
Love this kind of content, would be nice to have more of that on the website and ofc, a freakin searchbar everyone wants a searchbar
advise from one trick zed player: pick something big zed just can’t kill like malphite you should be all good to go.
As a zed main if you are playing zed dont put your shadow directly in front of you. Put it to the left of opponent and they wont know where to dodge, if you have the space.
If they flash to dodge it has to be towards you or you’ll hit them. That wayyou AA and land e’s
zed mains on suicide watch
(TL;DR below)
As a Zed 1 trick, I play my lane patiently and only use my abilities when punishing a mistake.
Anyway good video otherwise :D
your champion choice doesn't matter in low elo
Wonderfull guide. Pls. Make this type of guide for all champions!
no this is how you really flex uh I mean counter Zed...First you pick Azir in champ select then you slow push the waves every single time, he won't be able to do anything, then when he ults you you ult him back to his shadow, then you use the thumbs up emoji because just neutralized his all in and you outscale him, then after the game has concluded you write in chat "Zed counters Azir btw xd".
Collect your free LP from the Zed and move on.
No I totally didn't make this comment bc I am a salty Azir one trick that keeps hearing that Zed counters my champ even though it's the other way around. :P
Awesome vid. I hope you upload more like this
Buy Zhonyas and hes useless
You've never been against a good Zed if you think all it takes is a Zhonyas. Besides, there are so many squishy champions that Zhonyas isn't a good option on them.
This is an absolutely nice guide, thank you guys so much! Can you please tell me which song you used in the early moments of the video? Thank you.
Defenetly more of this pls! I would like to see Irelia or Darius next.
2) You didn't really go into favourable/unfavourable matchups and specifically how they can deal with Zed (e.g. walking into your own cage as Veigar) or even more general tips like buying stopwatch
I think assassins are the best starting point for this series. I reckon Fizz would be a good next champion to cover
it was more of a guide and a counter video :D i learned alot from this
Awesome video, I wait for more from this serie :D
Probably one of the best videos, thanks.
Really helpful video. I always thought only 1 of zeds qs did damage but I guess its only his e. Now I realise I've been playing the lane wrong this whole time.
