Tom was an incredible guitarist and seemed like a sound dude. It was so upsetting hearing the news of his death. May he rest in peace and all the best and love for this amazing band.
Dude same here rob! It was a long time ago. Back when architects were playing at the masquerade with BMTH, Norma Jean, The Chariot and others. Such an amazing show and people.
Watching this video today (21/08/16), this video was the first time I met Tom. Blown away by how humble and down to earth a man could be. A extremely talented guitarist and even more talented songwriter. These songs are your legacy.
good old days when i was 15- 16 , going to the local gig venue every friday and saturday night, where we all used to wear drop dead drink monster .... good old days now im 21
Yaaas is soo weird to evolve with theses bands and listen something old af and see de evolution in a band and how cheap and shitty they used to sound but back at time this was the shit hahahaha
Now he uses False Chord screaming style, whilst back in those days that was simply yelling (emotional, but hell, after even one show of screaming like this your voice will be completely destroyed at least for several days).
Can I blame it on you? I just can't win Two years spent wondering through the loneliest of minds Can't seem to find a good excuse this time, for me and for this to fall apart Shall I blame it on myself, or this routine that I've been stuck in? I've lost count of how many times I've tried to get out of this routine But it's holding so tight I just can't handle another day of this I just can't win Get me out alive Oh God, I mean it These are violent days for you and me I just can't handle another day of this routine Two years spent wondering through the loneliest of minds I've found my excuse this time Your words are wearing me down A constant frown upon my back Follow the water Drain the lake and bring it back to me
Remember this as a young lad with questionable tattoos & large ear stretchers queuing up hyped out my mind in Central London before even in the gig just to hear this live alongside parkway drive... memories made
Rest in peace Tom. Had to come back and see him go hard in this music video after hearing the news. I hope his family and the rest of the guys make it through alright
Unpopular opinion, but mathcore Arhitects are my favourite Architects. Don't get me wrong, what is considered theirs golden years (2014-2018) were also good, but most of the songs just feel very heavy emotionally. Great for some, but for me, it put me into dark place mentally. This era of the band, however, felt like a carefree youth - still alive Tom, young Sam and the rest of the guys, simply having fun. Good times, what is there to say. And amazing song too
I was supossed to see them in Chicago 1 month ago where they would headline but they canceled the tour.. oh well. I think they would play this song since their setlist would be bigger. Btw v Praze jsem zil 8 let. Dobry casy :D
nah i go to a lot of metalcore shows still and there's always a few people taking pictures n shit but the majority of people go hell for leather in the pits and there's no phones to be seen
That's pretty much what got me into *whatever*Core aged 14. Now I'm 27, Deathcore and Melodic Death Metal Nerd xD had an Emo Phase, Hardcore Phase, Beatdown Phase.. now I know I just like Core and it startet right here. Crazy :D Also the first song I learnt to play on guitar and bass
This instrumental is so fucking complex! COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from whatever mainstream metal instrumental you're going to hear! And the screams with powerful lyrics! I almost passed out the first time I heard this song! ARCHI MOTHERFUCKING TECHTS!!
Been lucky enough to experience this live more than once in the golden years it was released.. still thankful to this day.. best set ive ever seen live in central london was devil wears prada, bmth, architects & parkway drive
Wasn't into this album before. I now understand! I just needed to get through a massive nervous breakdown and then spend some time after retreating myself from the fit of rage and anger towards myself. Now I listen to Sam's harrowing vocals with a smile as It now represents my feelings!
have to say, best song on the album, what a song to pick to release. And i want to be Sam Carter, i got the scream right, and the voice, now all i need is the look ¬_¬
Who cares about how much like BMTH they are? Sure, I like BMTH, but them and Architects are so much different! Follow The Water is a great song and the video brilliant. Both bands' new videos are two of the best around right now =]
I thought the same thing man. Simple video but it's actually done really well, the editing is so cool and works so well with the song. They made it so intense and the church setting is sick too
2023 and still jammin this song. Man has it helped me get through some tough times. Thank you Architects.
❤
Wish they still played this live. The whole album is incredible
When I saw them with BMTH, ETID and Oh Sleeper they did. And it was great.
They tend to at least play the last minute or so of it, or have done the last few times I've seen em
Why they dont play it anymore ?
Both True
Absolutely!!
That opening riff is what got me into this band.
Patrick Hogan me too man
Same
I love the vocals
Same
Same.
Rest In Peace Tom! We love you!
Follow the Water
This bro. Rip
That classic DropDead merch makes me feel old.
RIP Tom, absolute legend among men.
Tom was an incredible guitarist and seemed like a sound dude. It was so upsetting hearing the news of his death. May he rest in peace and all the best and love for this amazing band.

good old days when i was 15- 16 , going to the local gig venue every friday and saturday night, where we all used to wear drop dead drink monster .... good old days now im 21

Wow hardcore
Yaaas is soo weird to evolve with theses bands and listen something old af and see de evolution in a band and how cheap and shitty they used to sound but back at time this was the shit hahahaha
Rest in Peace Tom, you legend.
this guy screams better than most. just sayin, especially in their newer stuff. You can just feel the energy... its awesome
I love how Sam Carters voice are a lot thicker and raw-er nowadays
Now he uses False Chord screaming style, whilst back in those days that was simply yelling (emotional, but hell, after even one show of screaming like this your voice will be completely destroyed at least for several days).
Can I blame it on you?
I just can't win
Two years spent wondering through the loneliest of minds
Can't seem to find a good excuse this time, for me and for this to fall apart
Shall I blame it on myself, or this routine that I've been stuck in?
I've lost count of how many times I've tried to get out of this routine
But it's holding so tight
I just can't handle another day of this
I just can't win
Get me out alive
Oh God, I mean it
These are violent days for you and me
I just can't handle another day of this routine
Two years spent wondering through the loneliest of minds
I've found my excuse this time
Your words are wearing me down
A constant frown upon my back
Follow the water
Drain the lake and bring it back to me
Oh God, how i miss their older records. Its was pure sickness.
His semi clean vocals starting at 2:50 are just incredible. Just like his vocals in The Sadness Will Never End. He's so talented.
Who was here when this dropped and who is still here in 2018?
Since ruin m8
2020
Im still😎
2021
Remember this as a young lad with questionable tattoos & large ear stretchers queuing up hyped out my mind in Central London before even in the gig just to hear this live alongside parkway drive... memories made

Rest in peace Tom. Had to come back and see him go hard in this music video after hearing the news. I hope his family and the rest of the guys make it through alright
That ending is really beautiful

Well, I've seen them twice last year, once in Prague and once once on Mighty sounds festival, and I think they played it both times. It was awesome
I was supossed to see them in Chicago 1 month ago where they would headline but they canceled the tour.. oh well. I think they would play this song since their setlist would be bigger. Btw v Praze jsem zil 8 let. Dobry casy :D
I'm relatively new to Architects, now I'm surfing through their older materials and I'm in awe the best metalcore band in 🌏
i miss it when the music scene was like this, now everyone just pulls out their damn iphones most of the time and dont even move like what the fuck
truuuu
nah i go to a lot of metalcore shows still and there's always a few people taking pictures n shit but the majority of people go hell for leather in the pits and there's no phones to be seen

Also the first song I learnt to play on guitar and bass
i love how its one of the heaviest songs ive heard and sam is screaming in a cute cat shirt
This video was shot 10 years ago today! Just popped up on my memories. Was a fantastic day and one to remember.
This instrumental is so fucking complex! COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from whatever mainstream metal instrumental you're going to hear! And the screams with powerful lyrics! I almost passed out the first time I heard this song! ARCHI MOTHERFUCKING TECHTS!!
