2:47 - 3:14 I get chills and have to sing this part as loudly as I can. Sam is such a beast at vocals because you can tell he uses so much emotion when he sings or screams. Also, amazing writing by Tom, RIP buddy.
100% with you ! It feels like even your soul is burning ! He transmits so many emotions.. So many songs with softer parts like this one making the subject even more powerful !
The verse, Son of God, son in the sky. If you could speak, I'm sure you'd say: "There's more to me than meets the eye. There's more to me, There's more to me! " Makes me feel all weird inside. I d e k why.
Peacelord2002 The story of Jesus is nearly the exact same as the story of Horus. Born to a virgin mother, crucified and resurrects 3 days later along with many, many other things. The funny part is the story claims he existed 3000 years before Jesus did. Basically, the story of Jesus was plagiarized to strike fear in people. Religion is and always will be about control.
Vargles Ya Right are you referring to Zeitgeist? When they couldn't even get his name right and named him Ra? They Said Horus was just another "tale" like Jesus cause he too was Admired by three Kings like Jesus and the 3 wise men. It was told Horus went around with his 12 "Disciples" and healed people until he was crucified then resurrected. But really he had 7 Friends not disciples and he he never healed the story of horus was mainly about his semen and he never died but followed the Sun since Horus fighted light and day ever morning.
Nothing better than this fucking amazing group. The voice, the words. "Let me say my decency, comes from inside. Just human heart, a decent mind, we all slip up time to time."
I think Sams vocals are amazing, lots of passion and uniqueness. People need to stop insulting Sams vocals, he's not singing just to please you. As always if you don't like the music, don't listen to it! Believe it or not, it's actually that simple
Finally a band does music videos right: a supplement and addition to the audio, not a direct interpretation or repeat of what is being said, but a visual journey that matches the emotion of the song and lyrics as a whole. Architects is 2012. This is your year. This album will be amazing. Well done, as usual!
For those who don't have the patience, in the video it says: Surveillance is protection. Thought is fear. Servility is liberty. Submission is power. Ignorance is unity. Surrender is salvation Obey without question.
This song was a reclamation of sorts for me, from finally being able to step away from my indoctrinated christian conservatism in my teens. It put to words what my heart had been begging to speak and my mind had yet to comprehend. To this day, i am constantly reminded of the closing line: "Let me say my decency comes from inside. Just human heart, a decent mind; we all slip up from time to time." Rest in Peace, Tom //
“Son of God, sun in the sky If you could speak I’m sure you’d say ‘There’s more to me than meets the eye’” That whole part is so fucking deep, mate. What brilliant lyrics. What a brilliant fucking song. Long live Tom. Long live Architects.
It's just unbelievable how well and perfect these guitars sound, is just a piece of art. Tom was truly a genius, a guitar god. Rest in peace Tom Searle.
"SON OF GOD, SUN IN THE SKY, IF YOU COULD SPEAK IM SURE YOU'D SAY THERE'S MORE TO ME THAN MEETS THE EYE, THERE'S MORE TO ME, THERE'S MORE TO ME!"........GOOSEBUMPS!
The Architects are an amazing band, and Daybreaker is an amazing album, why? Because it shows how diverse they are. It shows how they can change their sound and still be good.
Because there is so much meaning behind this video, and exept for the part when you see sam the filming is amazing. I think the concept of the video is really nice, as well as the production, so imo you could even say it's a piece of art for itself. Don't sucks at all.
This song means so fucking much to me and this band will always be one of my favourites no matter what direction they take. Rest in piece, Tom Searle. You will be missed.
My own interpretation is that he's saying that if there were a "Son Of God", then it would be the sun, in all it's majesty. People that truly understand what an amazing thing the sun, and indeed, the rest of the universe, truly are, find it hard to be awestruck by things like walking on water and other Bible miracles. If you feel the sun on your face and then realize that it's 93 million miles away, and that the equivalent of 100 billion nuclear bombs just went off inside of it in that 1 second, it puts a lot of things in perspective. It's not a miracle, it's the beauty of nature.
I'm also discovered them at Warped Tour. If I hadn't been for Oli Sykes saying something about them I may not have ended up seeing them, so props to Oli for giving them a shout out!
I have been listening to them for 3-4 years as well. I don't know what it is about this band, but they never get old. Even though they have adjusted their style of music a bit, they always seem to make anything & everything sound amazing.
I think that this song is more about the secular view of the world. Which is shown through references to being no afterlife such as "I'll find peace, buried in the ground. The lights go out, the fuse has blown, No heaven or hell to bring me home." or when they discuss how decency comes from themselves not a higher power "Let me say my decency comes from inside. Just human heart, a decent mind. We all slip up from time to time."
fuuuuuck just got such mad chills at "the lights go out, the fuse has blown, no heaven or hell to bring me home"...Love the intensity and meaning behind this album!
it's "sun of god, sun in the sky", referencing the fact that jesus (the son of god) is actually just a pagan portrayal of the sun.... This song is amazing and everyone should listen to it and understand the meaning. The world would be a much better place.
Ladies and Gentlemen, please let me introduce you the best metalcore band in the world. ARCHITECTS, BETTER THAN EVER, GREAT VIDEOS AND EPIC LYRICS. I have never loved a band like this
this has given me shivers. I'm sitting in front of my laptop and can't really find words to explain what I just watched, but I definitely love the direction this album is taking!

"Son of god, sun in the sky" probably reffers to the fact that Jesus is a copy of horus the sun god from egipt that existed 3000 bc
David Leon Egypt*
David Leon He's "a copy?" How on earth is he that?!!

We just read that book in my year 12 AP english class and the whole time I actually thought of this video! It's really similar
