Lyrics
I do my best but everything seems ominous
Not feeling blessed, quite the opposite
This shouldn’t feel so monotonous
It never rains but it pours
We’re just a bunch of fucking animals
But we’re afraid of the outcome
Don’t cry to me because the fiction that we’re living in
Says I should pull the pin
Should I just pull the pin?
I dug my heels
I thought that I could stop the rot
The ground gave way
Now I’ve lost the plot
Fucked it again
That was all I’ve got
It never rains but it pours
Life is just a dream within a….
Buried under dirt
A diamond in the mud
Infinity is waiting there
‘Cause nobody can burn a glass cathedral
….dream within a dream within a….

Epitaph Records is an artist-first indie label founded in Los Angeles by Bad Religion guitarist, Brett Gurewitz. Early releases from a variety of punk heavyweights helped launch the 90s punk explosion. Along the way, Epitaph has grown and evolved creatively while sticking to its mission of helping real artists make great recordings on their own terms.

Sam’s cleans are underrated and out of this world. I’ve got no problem with this direction they’re heading in.
His studio cleans are underrated, but live they are very hit or miss.

The golden age of music?! This song is good, I grant you, and contemporary. However, music is fucked due to streaming, etc. New musicians have very little chance these days to make any money. It's not exactly a sound career choice, even if you're incredibly talented. And then they closed the venues...
@@benmread I agree w you 100 percent. How bout the golden age for making music. Im a musician but also a long time business owner (non music). If your in a band you need spread sheets, business plan, all of it.
Being in a band , unfortunately needs to be run like a business. I get it musicians want to play music but if i wanted to make money i would have an outside business and have it generating money within a year.
Im trying to make this short, i could probably do a long video on this.
2 yrs ago, one of my employees was given a recording deal-contract. I told him let my wife look over it, she's an attorney. She did and advised him not to go w it. Architects is committed to quality. Everything they release is immaculate and well thought out. In an age of throw away singles and forgettable streaming music, Architects keeps giving us timeless music that holds up year after year. Thank you. 🙏
ROCK FEED - FOR LIFE
@maurizio piras piras I wouldn't be surprised if they did what fit for a king did. Release catchy songs for singles and then the rest of the album be heavy. Either way when shows eventually come back this is going to be great live
this is a throw away single. and by far their weakest song to date
@maurizio piras piras Weakest song to date lmfao. You forget about songs like heartburn, unbeliever, etc.... gtfo
@maurizio piras piras Apparently you never heard Heartburn from 10yrs ago. They make all kinds of music. Whatever tickles their fancy. At the end of the day its still better than half the mumble rap and shit Corporate music pushes.
Now I've had a day to process it and have a look at opinions on the song I thought I'd leave my thoughts here for anyone that cares to read them.
You have to remember this is their first ever time writing anything with a completely new process without any input what so ever from Tom (Holy Hell being written mainly based off ideas he left behind). I believe Dan has written alot of this album and he never bothered with song writing before Tom died so this album was bound to sound different. Also they are at that point as a band where they can either evolve their sound to be slightly more mainstream and start playing REALLY big shows (like bring me) or just keep churning out stuff with the same niche sound and watch their fanbase age and slowly drop off. I think personally they are doing it in the right way and the album is still gonna be full of sick riffs and fingers crossed a wee "blegh" tucked in there. Yes Sam could have just sang that chorus in his usual super unique high scream/shout but the way it's been done really highlights the power and versatility in his actual singing voice in a way we've never really heard before. I think this release is perfect and there's going to be alot more to come both different and heavy but at the same time more anthemic and stadium sing along based. Do you all forget the band's main riff+lyric writer tragically passed away after Sam and him locking themselves away and pouring their souls into AOGHAU. The fact this band even continued in any way is a blessing to us all. Everyone saying "UhH MuH BrInG mE tHe ArChItEcTs" please just stop. Your opinion is just close minded and not required.
If i think that this is a fucking copy of a BMTH song is not close mindness. It’s a fact. And i hate it cause i love their sound in the last two albums. But i’m not offending anyone, so Who are you to tell to other people that their opinion is not required?
i couldn't have said it better
Couldn’t agree more dude , I’m just happy there still making songs hey
ok ok ok how about Architects on the Horizon?
Jokes aside i agree and this song is a banger
People seem to also forgot this is a SINGLE. It’s meant to help promote the album to as many people as possible. That means it will be a song that sounds the most radio friendly to draw attention to it. How business works.... I love the song personally. But I’m easy to please clearly. :)
I am not at all a huge fan of Architects but this song is a masterpiece and that main riff does something to my body.

Were just a bunch of fkn animals?
If you know what holy wood is.... Its mockery of us.
Imagine a crowd singing this, many people here it.
And in their Religion.... Come on
I want to say .... Its epitaph records.
This song is so dark and satanic and is a mocking that if we sing along we say that we the darkness.
Its their religion, whatever you want to call this cabbalistic shit.
Maybe it sounds good, but the devil wears prada they say
Ayo?
Love the glitch beginning, really sets the tone for the song from the start.
Just discovered this band today and I'm like "omg" can't stop listening this and the orchestral version
Same bruh
Same here I heard it on satellite radio the octane station
right?
Whaaaaat??!! Yall have never heard of BMTH?!?!?! Well, that's gotta change! Here are some other amazing ones from them... Doomed, Follow You & my all time favorite of theirs is called Blessed With A Curse. You MUST check those songs out by this amazing band!!
@@lucyshea2583 thank you
I'm so glad this band has found the commercial success that they've deserved from making so much incredible music over the years. With that being said, I feel like this is a move away from what made Architects stand out in the scene and they're clearly making a conscious effort to evolve their sound to be something else.
It's not for me and that's okay. Still love these guys and will cherish their earlier releases.
Same. I acknowledge their musical abilities and respect their decision to (at least partially) move towards this new sound but I'm always going to prefer the tech-ier, more progressive work
@@buwumet Lost Forever // Lost Together will always be the pinnacle for me. This band has given me so many good memories. I’ve got enough music from them to satisfy a lifetime. While I haven’t fell into complete love with their releases since LF//LT, this is the first piece of music they’ve released where I just feel distant to it. It happens.
It won’t make Hollow Crown, Daybreaker and LF//LT any less legendary in my eyes.
their music was just copy pasta. Hardly of anything to "stand out" to begin with. With that being said, they went full BMTH lol
I wish there were more comments like this one. Im thinking as you
@@MaggotCZ Literally everyone copied them. People started disliking metalcore once everyone started "sounding like Architects". That's the standard that metalcore is held up to, even today.
Love this song it’s by far my favorite song out right now
This was recommended by UA-cam and I am definitely not disappointed lol.... The instrumentals make me want to just start moving and the leads voice fits perfectly....
Whoo! Here after the full Endwalker trailer!
Man, this song gets better and better every listen!
Architects kick so much ass! I can't wait for February!!!!
100%
IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS SONG FOR MONTHS AND I JUST RANDOMLY DECIDED TO PLAY IT WHILE CHECKING YOUR DISCOGRAPHY AND NOW I FEEL GREAT!
My ears are satisfied immensely
