Now I've had a day to process it and have a look at opinions on the song I thought I'd leave my thoughts here for anyone that cares to read them. You have to remember this is their first ever time writing anything with a completely new process without any input what so ever from Tom (Holy Hell being written mainly based off ideas he left behind). I believe Dan has written alot of this album and he never bothered with song writing before Tom died so this album was bound to sound different. Also they are at that point as a band where they can either evolve their sound to be slightly more mainstream and start playing REALLY big shows (like bring me) or just keep churning out stuff with the same niche sound and watch their fanbase age and slowly drop off. I think personally they are doing it in the right way and the album is still gonna be full of sick riffs and fingers crossed a wee "blegh" tucked in there. Yes Sam could have just sang that chorus in his usual super unique high scream/shout but the way it's been done really highlights the power and versatility in his actual singing voice in a way we've never really heard before. I think this release is perfect and there's going to be alot more to come both different and heavy but at the same time more anthemic and stadium sing along based. Do you all forget the band's main riff+lyric writer tragically passed away after Sam and him locking themselves away and pouring their souls into AOGHAU. The fact this band even continued in any way is a blessing to us all. Everyone saying "UhH MuH BrInG mE tHe ArChItEcTs" please just stop. Your opinion is just close minded and not required.
If i think that this is a fucking copy of a BMTH song is not close mindness. It’s a fact. And i hate it cause i love their sound in the last two albums. But i’m not offending anyone, so Who are you to tell to other people that their opinion is not required?
People seem to also forgot this is a SINGLE. It’s meant to help promote the album to as many people as possible. That means it will be a song that sounds the most radio friendly to draw attention to it. How business works.... I love the song personally. But I’m easy to please clearly. :)
This was the first Architects song I've ever heard. I stumbled across it randomly when it was few weeks old and enjoyed it so much that I got into the band for years. I've listened to every single album on repeat ever since. But there is something unique in this one, its atmosphere is just on an another level
I love how the synth in the chorus is like a sign of "DANGER! DANGER!". Considering how the album tracklist etc gives me an apocalyptic vibe, it's very fitting.
Damn this song hits hard. Architects bringing it, so glad to have another badass band to look forward to as they, and we, grow in these tough times. Stay safe fellow headbangers. Much love.
Just started listening to metal, bmth introduced me and just found these guys. The drummer was going ham the whole time. I've always listened to indie rock but I think I found my new favourite genre.
I can always appreciate a band that adapts with time and over comes their challenges. I’ve been listening to architects since I can remember. I thought the passing of their guitarist Tom may have been the beginning of the end, yet here we are years later listening to them absolutely kill a new genre. So much respect for these guys. This is a fucking great song.
What "new genre"? I keep seeing you folks talking about Architects making a new genre and I'm supremely confused. This is what we call buttrock - it's been around a while.
@@galaxybrain9928 I don’t know what’s so hard to understand. Architects have always been metalcore or whatever you want to call it. This is a new genre for them. They have never done anything like this. Nobody said that they invented a new genre.
Honestly for me, I couldn’t get into Architects’ sound for the longest time. Holy Hell changed a lot for me, turning into one of my favourite records. This kind of follows up on that, and it’s great, but I do hope you guys keep some metalcore tracks on the album.
Honestly this isn't the far off Royal Beggars structurally, etc (Sam's obviously dialled back on the vocals compared to that), shouldn't really come as a surprise that something like this was coming. I hope the new album is half this and half metalcore, gives them a balance for live sets so Sam in particular doesn't strain himself as time and other vocalists have proven does happen.
I agree but I'm not sure how vocals like this would strain his voice less, this style of false chord is much harder than fry screaming for me personally, if anything this style is architects staying one foot in front of the trends haha

It's not about being heavy or not, it's about not being basic or generic. Metal is different because it's either technical or has effort put into it, not "Riff A > Riff B > Riff A > Riff B" for an entire song like pop/"mainstream" stuff. This one falls into the latter, unfortunately.

Man now I know you listen to architects makes you even more sympathetic
Until now
Bruh I didn’t know you liked metalcore. I like you even more now aside from the amazing FH gameplay
Hey stranger
Fancy seeing you here 👀
Now I've had a day to process it and have a look at opinions on the song I thought I'd leave my thoughts here for anyone that cares to read them.
But i’m not offending anyone, so Who are you to tell to other people that their opinion is not required?
i couldn't have said it better
Couldn’t agree more dude , I’m just happy there still making songs hey
ok ok ok how about Architects on the Horizon?
Jokes aside i agree and this song is a banger
People seem to also forgot this is a SINGLE. It’s meant to help promote the album to as many people as possible. That means it will be a song that sounds the most radio friendly to draw attention to it. How business works.... I love the song personally. But I’m easy to please clearly. :)
This was the first Architects song I've ever heard. I stumbled across it randomly when it was few weeks old and enjoyed it so much that I got into the band for years. I've listened to every single album on repeat ever since. But there is something unique in this one, its atmosphere is just on an another level
This is my first song too just learned about these guys can't wait to go through the catalog of music 😂

Much love.

Architects never let me down.
Still? First time my man.
This shit GOES, H A R D
Just started listening to metal, bmth introduced me and just found these guys. The drummer was going ham the whole time. I've always listened to indie rock but I think I found my new favourite genre.
Exactly , never let me down either
And they won't give us up and won't run away and desert us
I can always appreciate a band that adapts with time and over comes their challenges.
This kind of follows up on that, and it’s great, but I do hope you guys keep some metalcore tracks on the album.
i agree with you, also nice profile pic bro, el psy congroo.
this is metalcore
Honestly this isn't the far off Royal Beggars structurally, etc (Sam's obviously dialled back on the vocals compared to that), shouldn't really come as a surprise that something like this was coming. I hope the new album is half this and half metalcore, gives them a balance for live sets so Sam in particular doesn't strain himself as time and other vocalists have proven does happen.
Actually if he performed everything 100% correct he would have easily completed every set in a big tour
@Aaron Plant
Couldn’t have said it better man! 🤘🤘
Thanks for the essay
I agree but I'm not sure how vocals like this would strain his voice less, this style of false chord is much harder than fry screaming for me personally, if anything this style is architects staying one foot in front of the trends haha
