back in the day i found that album too simple in contrast to the earlier works, looking back it was the perfect bridge between older and daybreaker - holy hell architects
It could take a second To tear down years of work And we won't get these days Back again (back again) I can't understand why I've been put here I'm stuck in a world of sympathy With nobody watching over me And the words roll over and over Yet our hearts will never be lifted Someone, tell me how I've ended up here With nobody watching over me? We need to bring back the days we used to love Before all the color drains away I can't understand why I've been put here I'm stuck in a world of sympathy With nobody watching over me I can't understand why I've been put here I'm stuck in a world of sympathy With nobody watching over me To all those not living in the here and now To all those not living in the here and now To all those not living in the here and now To all those (sing it loud) Where did they go? The days we used to know Where did they go? Have I forgotten what it feels like? Where did they go, where did they go The days we used to know Where did they go, where did they go Have I forgotten what it feels like? And the words roll over and over Yet our hearts will never be lifted
If I had to guess I'd say sam and the rest didnt like the album cos it made them look emo and the songs were based on self sympathy. I think sam also said he missed the more aggressive and fast track atmosphere. still a great album though in my opinion. :)
I love the song "Hollow Crown". No one ever mentions it. Sam has a really nice singing voice so that's why they're trying to show it in their newer material as well. Yeh, of course Early Grave is brilliant, but you can still hear it through your speakers or if you see them live.
So I guess Daybreaker is the album they should have released after Hollow Crown, and The Here and Now is the one they should have released after Holy Hell
the here and now is genuinely one of the best albums i've heard for a long time its a lot softer than hollow crown, ruin, nightmares however they have been interviewed saying that they listen to different artists such as coldplay and listening to artists such as these has impacted their sound but this in no way a boring album just a softer more melodic album but at the same time quite thrashy and punky and i think its great.
Their older stuff is very djent/mathcore. For those who aren't sure of the term, it's a heavy sounding palm-muted chord technique. Djent is the onomatopoeia for it. Bands like TesseracT, Periphery & Meshuggah are very "djent" - it was Meshuggah who coined the term & it's now evolving into a very popular subgenre. The use of Mathcore in it is the strange time signatures which jump around a lot & mess with your head. The two often go hand in hand. Architects' older stuff (Nightmares, Ruin & som
I don't understand why people always complain about new stuff, bands want to change, to evolve, not to sound the same during their whole career... musicians grow up, and their sound with them.
Bring on the Post-Hardcore, The day Architects adds techno beats to the songs and start crabcoring will be the day were Post-hardcore becomes the most powerful genre, with Absolute talent and brilliance. Post-Hardcore and Architects
Sams voice has evolved so much, i personally love this album, i been listening since i heard ruin, hollow crown was then my favorate, now this album has alot of what i personally prefer for this band. unless machine head bring an album out this year, i doubt any band is gonna bring out a better one this year in my oppinion
i wasn't quite sure i was gonna like this record, but a couple of runs in winamp and bang: can't get that crap out of my head... yet another architects album on heavy rotation on all my devices... massive thumbs up for the band and everyone else in the here and now
Architects have changed their sound on every single album. Regardless of you liking the change or not, we should give them respect for putting effort in doing this, instead of endlessly making the same album over and over again. All things considered, I prefer Ruin and Hollow Crown and I was put off first times I listened to The Here and Now, but it grew on me. It's still an entertaining album.
im well into this. they've always needed to cut down on the noisy, dischordant stuff and get some proper good melodies in. which is exactly what they've done, so im happy.
Like im loving the new sound ! I had a little conversation with Sam Carter last night about their album ,I said to him like Architects are the band who loves changes and they not going to record the same album twice ,becouse it's boring ! he completly agreed! That's why the new songs sounds like this. It's fresh and diffrent ,this is what people need to hear ! In my opinin there's only two bands from UK who doing this. and it's BMTH & Architects.
cant wait to hear the whole album . i hope it doesnt let me down like bmth new album . s/season was awesome and the new one was ok , such a let down ! good to see carter is getting sleeves though !
I have now listen three of their song's and i like it very much's. Lyric's are good and instrument's are very clear and playing is also good. So there is no reason that why, i shouldn't like it this much's. This bring's me mind of the early The Rasmus and H.I.M. in some strange kind of way.
ruin: mathcore hollow crown: metalcore the here and now: almost post-hardcore next album: hopefully not pop -.- i like the here and now. but please architects, don't get even softer!
got into this band after nightmares(great album)! this band musically have got so much better not as techy but understand how to make a mind blowing song
ya I'm kind of missing his long hair as well :/ I asked him "why are you having your hair cut?" after a gig and he said it was because of the hot weather in some countries since they're touring. agh dun be sad mate:) He promised that his hair will come back:)
As a sort of B-Side album, not compared to the rest - it is really good, especially this song. Although I've listened to it when travelling on a train through the country years back, so it hits differently for me :D

Back when Sam Carter was a scene kid XD

This is one of my favorite Albums of all time!
Been listening to Architects since Nightmares, and they never cease to impress me
It seems like it was yesterday when I listened to this song for the first time. Memories.
i really really like his voice. he definately should sing more often.
Love you Sam, the best voice on the scene

Old and new styles might be different, but they're still both insanely good.

What a band !
Never really cared for this song, or even The Here And Now, but they played this one in Lisbon like a month ago and it blew my mind away!
They started so young, and they're only getting better as they mature. It's sweet to hear that progression.

I'm listening to this song day in and day out.
Saw this performed live a while back. As soon as the drummer did the intro, the whole crowd knew what was coming and went wild
Its like that with most there songs and its so amazing
So I guess Daybreaker is the album they should have released after Hollow Crown, and The Here and Now is the one they should have released after Holy Hell
Nah it's too youthful. Holy Hell is a lot more matured
Sam's voice is amazing it's so perfect awesome video as well
