It's amazing the dark and ominous sound of Sabbath, can be so positive and joyous at the same time. Always makes my heart smile. I have friends that love classic rock that still turn their nose up, just hearing the name Black Sabbath.
This "You never know what is coming next" thing carries on for many albums. One of the reasons I love this band.
The remastered box set is way clearer. Cant wait till you guys do Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage
You and me both.
Y'all and me three.
Under the sun (last song on this album) is heavy as f**k!
YES!!!!!!!!!!
Just goes to show the versatility of this legendary band, I could play this for my mom then rock her ass off.
Laguna Sunrise is such a mystical and poetical piece.
Sabbath were really ubiquitous, able to surprise us fans.
In what way were they 'ubiquitous'?
@@sebastianblack6506 Well, probably because they were doing different stuff kind of surprising the listeners, specially in SBS.
@@pabloalvez915 Ubiquitous means being ever present, around all the time. You're describing something else.
St. Vitas is SO HEAVY. My Mom said when she was a kid back in the 30's, she had a classmate who had St. Vitas Dance. I guess it's a side effect of Rheumatic fever!?
Can't wait for Under The SUN!
🙌🙌
My wife and I got married in July of 1982 and this was our wedding song, and we are still happily married.
You guys are always in the groove. When Black Sabbath is on!
st.vitus dance n under the sun our my favorite on this album..
The tone on Tony's ax is epic
I've been trying to figure out what Che likes as reference point, and the needle keeps pointing to Doom/Stoner Doom and Desert Rock.
He might dig some High on Fire "The Falconist"
He's a dirty, rusty old rocker reincarnated.
Looking forward to your comments on the next one Under the Sun, probably the best track on the album
I’m looking forward to the album that comes next, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath! Definitely their greatest work, imo.
Great great reaction gentleman. Love these two songs by the mighty Sabbath. To me these guys are so magical together. They are four phenomenal musicians who just can flat out play. Sabbath is in my top 5 favorite bands. The musicianship is amazing with these guys. Can’t wait until you get to Under The Sun. Keep up the fantastic work La and Che…
Ahhhh yes, Laa and Chee. Heavy Metal violins !😮hold-on, We GOT That!!
Planet caravan is another really smooth track
You guys know how to sweeten my day. Pair of anthems, to me.
Riff kings.
'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath' album released the following year in 1973 after 'Volume 4' from '72 is one of Sabbath's best. "A National Acrobat" a track off the 'Bloody Sabbath' album is smokin' hot and worth checking out. The repeating heavy guitar riffs sink deep down in your soul.💫🎤🎸🥁🔊🔥☮🎧
Their best and my fave of Black Sabbath, awesome album.
And please guys, don´t forget to react to "Who Are You?", with special guest Rick Wakeman, it´s a great track too. "SBS" will always be my favourite BS album. Cheers!
i use Laguna Sunrise as my alarm tone
You dudes are turning into Sabbath fans !!🤣🤘
Black Sabbath "Trashed" is a killer tune. Ian Gillan on the mic. I know Ozzy fans are going to pummel me 😂 but it's a sick tune!
Don't forget to keep away from the Digital Bitch! 😂
my favorite Sabbath song (perhaps, because its so unexpected).......thanks so much for sharing.
I can't wait for Under The Sun!
Sound check 1,2,3. Damn I missed this on a work trip. But I hit the thumbs up, #456!
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is going to blow you away nothing like you have heard so far
Yeahh Black Sabbath ❤❤❤
In general, I liked the song, especially the second part, powerful guitars, powerful riff, the only negative is that the second part could have been longer, it wasn’t enough to feel all the drive of the rock fire.
Thanks!
Gives me Ennio Morricone vibes
Ok 1 more song then Sabbath Bloody Sabbath there 5th Album with 1st song same as title Sabbath Bloody Sabbath a top 5 BS for me, also my 1st 2 albums i stole i mean purchased where Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and LZ Houses of the Holy!!!
If you played this for me sight unseen, I wouldn't guess it was BS in a million years. Well, until the second part.😅
😆😆😆😆😆
Very different I enjoyed it a lot thanks guys.
Vol. 4 is a vibe of its own. Very unique album. Kind of a mashup of ideas, not exactly consistent. But some bangers. I find it the least consistent album they ever made, yet it rates up there. Previous album "Master of Reality" is what I consider one of the best albums of all time.
The fast part in St. Vitus Dance is in a major mode (happy). The song seems schizophrenic when it transitions to the slower and heavier part. The last song Under the Sun has the patented Sabbath transitions - it's probably the heaviest song on the album.
Volume 4 is such a good album, but the one thing that keeps me from putting it up there with Paranoid, Sabotage, or Master of Reality is the production. Bill's drums sound so buried in the original mix. But listening to the 2021 remix they unburied Bill's drums and sounds quite good.
Still a solid release from the Kings of Metal.
hopefully its live at last album review next.came out in 1980 but its from concerts in 1973.mostly consists of first 4 albums
Everyone has their preferences, and this album is one I'm really not crazy about. It's better than “Never Say Die” and “Technical Ecstacy” (I won't listen to those two) , but I'm a purist, I guess.
Thanks, guys.
Vol 4 had a muddy sound. There are some good songs but the engineering was sub-par compared to the first 3 albums.
Another kick ass track from a great Sabbath album
I think k u guys would e joy Andrew rooney drums utube sabbath. But sabbath is anything g you want. They r the most unDer rated, .misunderstood band. They were heavy but could play the light S well. And could be considered the first Christian rock band. ❤❤❤ sabbath.
Not their best song, but still interesting.
that's some BS 😋
Do Sabotage and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath then leave it. All the other albums aren't to the same standard. At all!
Better lay off the Mary Jane...NEVER SAY DIE rules! Technical has "some" decent moments as well..
@@mr.snicker-doodles7081 Everyone to their own. During Sabotage the things I love about Sab, the tone, the warmth of the sounds, the original arrangements that set them apart started to fade out and the traditional boring NWOBHM metal stuff started to appear. By Never Say Die it had taken over completely and that's when I check out. After TE you add Dio to the mix and we're in Dungeons and Dragons, 80s lycra territory. No thanks. That's not what I want from Sabbath. Thank god for Sleep who saved the day with Holy Mountain and their other stuff.
@@Donnybreakfast7777 Exactly, that's why I sad what I said. To each their own..
Loved Never Say Die, bought it the day it came out. Juniors Eyes, Shockwave and Swinging the Chain especially are some of the heaviest songs they ever did. Yes, then came Dio, saw them 4 times with Dio, they were awesome. Saw them with Ian Gillian too, Born again. Boy imagine if everyone was like you thinking "well their career sis over, I don't like them anymore" the music world would be pretty sad. As for Sleep, I'd say that's the perfect name for that band...zzzzz. I wished I'd taken my pillow and jamies when I saw them, oh and earplugs haa. Funny, you like Sabatoge
(I do too...) but it's their most proggy
un-Sabbath like record in the entire catalog. Maybe you should just say you're a prog fan and not a Sabbath fan..? Plenty or YES and King Crimson for you to listen to out there..
@@mr.snicker-doodles7081 I do like some prog but mainly I'm an indie-rock fan, Fugazi, Dinosaur Jr, Pavement etc. Not been into Heavy Metal since my early 20s. Too stagnant and shallow for me. I know what you mean about Sabotage, it's not great but there's still some corkers on it. I love Sleep and Om loads, yeah they are REALLY loud ;)
@@Donnybreakfast7777 ahh, ok I see...fair enough. Well, no offense but you're not really in a position to make a call on Black Sabbath's best albums if you're into the
A-tonal/indie stuff. I think you forgot Sonic Youth by the way too haa. I mean I like Dinosaur & Monster magnet too...but Sabbath is a different thing maybe. I am surprised (based on your likes) that you would like Sabatoge of all records!?? It's probably their slickest and most heavily Produced records!?? Oh haa, YES...Sleep was VERY loud.
