In the commuter category,
- The Norden gives you bright LED lights, a height adjustable seat, comfortable ergonomics, a sturdy and large windscreen, good ground clearance, ABS, Seat Warmer, Heated grips, fog lights, ride modes and adjustable suspensions, and you can access basic maintenance items like the battery and the airbox just by removing the seat which requires no tools.
- I wish the gas tank was slightly larger than only 5 Gallons, but that should get you over 240 miles of range according to Husqvarna’s website.
- As for pricing, at $16,499 USD, The Norden is not cheap, but not excessively expensive either. Adventure bikes cover a huge range of price anywhere from $7,000 dollars to over $30,000 dollars. This bike is pretty much in the middle of the price point.
- the only potential drawback to this bike would be the saddlebags; they sure are unique being soft and having to fold it to shut it. The upside is that it opens from the top and not the side and it comes off the bike very easily with 2 safety tabs so you can take them inside your tent during night for safety and those hungry animals looking for a snack.
- The Norden earns a 19 out of 20 in the commuter category.
Performance/Dope Factor Category.
- As for track specific tech and features you get steering damper, a Q-shifter, Traction control, and on the fly fork adjustments!
- As for power, the average of 95 rearwheel horsepower and 74 ft.lbs of torque is 84.5 which is certainly enough for any kind of adventuring.
- Sitting at 514 ish pounds it is not too heavy or too light. It’s pretty average for this size of bike.
- As for the design choices and marketplace, I personally think they did a great job designing the bodyworks and the lights to give you the feeling of original Paris-Dakar racing machines. The bikes definitely feels high quality to the touch. Unlike BMW, I don’t see a Build your own Norden button on their website indicating it is not much of a customizable bike. It essentially comes in one color for the expedition, and a single other color for the base version. As for brand opulence, Husqvarna has set a higher-end precedent for itself amongst dual sport and ADV bikes. Certainly, higher than its sister company, KTM. The Norden gets 12.5 out of 20 for the overall Performance and Dope Factor Category.

I always say, the rule of thumb for who makes a better adventure bike is to look at the rest of the company’s lineup. If they are known for and only build supersport or cruisers or naked bikes, I personally wouldn’t buy an adventure bike from them because that simply shows they are trying to enter in a market they have no business being in just for the profits. But if they are already making a lot of simpler off roading machine, these types of companies make better adventure bikes. And I am confident that a company like Husqvarna that exclusively makes dual sports and super motos is gonna give you an adventure bike you are bound to love.
I researched bikes for more than 3 years to find best best option for long highway rides with the option of doing green and blue trails/roads. I ended up deciding that the Honda AT AS was the best option.
Then I saw the Husqvarna Norden 901 Expedition. 😮 Within 2or 3 days, I fell in love with this bike. The Norden 901 Expedition was my unicorn bike.
On January 2, 2024 my wife and I ordered one. On January 9, we took it home. I have ridden this on some red trails(that used to be green) and it blows my mind every time.
I would not recommend this bike to anyone shorter than 5’ 11”.

You kind of caught me by surprise when you mentioned you thought the Harley-Davidson was around the same price the Harley-Davidson starts at 20,000 but it is a 1180 cc motorcycle also but if you've ever ridden one they're definitely not and off pavement motorcycle by a long stretch of the imagination in my opinion😊

The number 901 has nothing to do with the displacement, it is how KTM wants to imply that HUSQVARNA is of higher quality it's a way to say, HUSQVARNA, GASGAS, KTM EJ: 701, 700, 690 but all bikes haf the same engie
