Ok, i get why he has been in Conan's writer staff for so many years. Quick wit, deadpan delivery..
He was giving me some Bob Einstein (who was the absolute master of deadpan) vibes with how good he was, even with Sona and Gourley laughing the whole damn time.
"I am a WONDERFUL ... first opinion."
Just KILLER work.
I remember this guy from Doctor School. We both graduated in the top 100% from Hollywood Upstairs Medical College.
That straight face and crazy eyes.. What a LEGEND!
To me one of the best lines was “how does that help me?” “Well it gets you out of the house” lol
I was dead lol. These guys are legendary!
When he responds to Matt “I think you should get a second opinion”. Brilliant and quick
That was so nice of Dr. Arroyo to even give Conan a $1 discount on this visit while he totally didn’t have to. Goes to show how generous of a doctor he is
I was one of his patients last year. His number was kinda difficult to get since one of the main ways to get it was through a hidden subreddit. But when I called him about my aches, he told me that I had a deficiency in carbohydrates and sodium. We met at Olive Garden. Thank you Dr. Arroyo!
Wow! I can’t believe this guy wrote for Conan - none of his writers perform so naturally and patiently. Flawless, what talent!
I love it when Conan interviews actual working professionals like Dr Arroyo, so humble 🙏
I love that they played the entire thing completely straight. Classic comedy improv right here folks.
Dr Arroyo episodes are phenonminal. Its improv comedic genius. 10/10
“You can look it up. If you ever find it.” is such a funny line.
At what time, in the interview, did he say that? Never mind, I'll watch it again, at least, a dozen times, it was that good! 😅

This needs to be an ongoing bit. Bring him in as different characters. Conan’s personal mechanic, chef, yoga instructor, etc.. He delivered laughter to over 9 million people which honestly makes him more accomplished as a doctor than most. ❤
Ive watched this now about 20 times and its still funny! This is just unreal comedic genius with improv that everyone needs to see to appreciate
He doesn't break character the entire time - it's so great to see Dr. Arroyo talk more about experiences after having gone through doctor school.
True, not everyone can graduate in the top 100% of their class afterall.
what do you mean, character? He is a doctor! He graduated doctor school!
Almost broke at 15:02 with the dirty labcoat!! 🤣🤣
This is a master class in improve between Dr arroyo and Conan. Both of them lead each other perfectly into creating set ups and punchlines.
I have listened to this so many times that I can no longer remember how to pronounce Mayo.
Almost everyone connected to Conan becomes famous. Sona, Gourley, Schlansky as well as some of his other staff and now Dr. Arroyo. The most affordable Doctor that graduated at the top 100% of his Doctor School.
Several writing staff interns have gone on to become noted actors or writers including Vanessa Bayer, John Krasinski, Mindy Kaling, Ellie Kemper and Jack McBrayer.
If you really think those 5 people are his entire staff then you have no clue how a massive show and its production works.
Don't forget the most famous one of all, masturbating bear.
Matt is a terrific comedian, a founder of the Superego improv group.
He is a 2 time emmy award winner writer/producer.
YESSSS!!!! This is why Conan is the GOAT. viewer demands were satiated immediately
When Conan gets really serious, you know that he knows that he has struck gold.
He is SUCH an affordable doctor!
$19 is a little expensive for me, but worth every penny.
"TAKE my pulse... like take it away" that was hilarious!
I was listening the podcast at work and I couldn’t control myself, just laugh out loud with that one!
I honestly have not laughed this hard, this loud or so viscerally in a very loooong time. Truly, big thanks to you all for this joyous moment.
One of the best guest the podcast ever had and probably the most affordable guest too.
I was a patient of Dr. Arroyo, and I can vouch for his legitimacy. I came to him with a fractured leg, and he told me that I "was made of sterner stuff." Additionally, he reminded me that sticks and stones may break my bones, but words could never hurt me. It really boosted my morale! My leg is kind of crooked now and sort of just dangling there, but I got a major confidence boost! And only for $10.99!
This doctor seems like a legend, sacrifices so much in his own life to lives on the street so he is close to all of his patients, This man deserves a movie.
9:10 i'm crying, love that conan couldn't keep it together either
17:03 “I do feel like I played a part”
really clever choice of words
Jose is one of the best writers weve ever had. So hilarious. Him an conan work so well together
"hippopotamus oath" im dying 😂
FYI: Homer Simpson actually said that line about 20 seasons ago. I was eagerly hoping it would get used here.
Call Dr Arroyo ASAP.
@@palaceofwisdom9448 was conan writing for them back then or was that 90s he wrote for them?
@@JamoonXerxesSauber The line is from Simpsons season 4, episode 11 (Homer Gets a Triple Bypass), and Conan was a writer at the time, so it's possible that it was his.
"We're going to cut you open and tinker with your ticker."
"Could you dumb it down a shade?"
I trust when Dr. Arroyo checks my pulse, because he uses both hands around my neck at the same time for maximum accuracy.
It's there
most people just use two fingers, he uses all 10 fingers for high precision
@@KB44444yes cause taking a patient pulse is a serious medical task you can clerly see that doctor arroyo doesnt like to half ass it.
Like they said in the field, "measure twice, cut once"
It’s for stability… something I hear the Nintendo Switch could use these days…
“I thought you said *TAKE* my pulse” had me IN TEARSSSS
You can tell he went to a doctor school. He perspires doctor excellence. But I bet that if he had gone to judge school he'd be just as good.
It's not a doctor school, it is Doctorschool-auf-mainkopf, in southern Bavaria. Famous for its mountain springs rich in sulfur, known cure for hiccups and leprosy. Jud Geschooll is the Prime Minister of Holland.
Don't forget, he's in the elite top 100% of his class.
@@brianbagnall3029 I'm sure he is just being humble and was really at the top 110%.
So that's why the one dollar bill was moist.
The “take my pulse” bit was brilliant
Girl asked me what do you do in free time... I said to her I watch Conan. Now I am waiting for her reply. What better way than re-watch Dr. Arroyo
This is a HUGE treat. pretty please make Dr Arroyo a recurring character. I beg you.
I could see this "Dr. Arroyo" actor playing Jordan schlansky in bits. With his not breaking and taking things literally (like taking conan's pulse).
I don't understand why some people on the internet questioned Dr. Arroyo expertise. How many doctor you know graduated from Doctor School at the top 100% of their class? I'm sure not that many. And considering Conan found him, just outside of the Mayo Clinic, you know that he probably a really fine doctor.
"Is this something you always dreamed of, as a boy growing up...?" *nods* "UP."
This character is gold!😂😂
Looking for this. this is comedy.
"UP" is what got me too!
I don't understand. Can someone explain the joke?
@@TheNobleCleg Conan is prompting him to tell him where he grew up but Arroyo avoids the question by just repeating "Up!"
Just keep coming back rewatching this. Their comedy is so high level.
THE DOCTOR HAS ARRIVED 😍
Conan steamrolled Hot Ones (in the best possible way), and Dr. Arroyo really brought the entire thing to another level. Conan managed to have multiple running gags throughout the show, was an absolute psycho with the hottest hot sauces, and somehow managed to be thoughtful and interesting while also rubbing hot sauce on his nipples. Conan is the GOAT host in general and easily one of the best Hot Ones guests of all time, if not #1.
Easily THE BEST hot ones guest.
There's no question he's number one. He was frugal by putting partially eaten wings in his pockets. If someone else does his laundry, they're in for a special treat.
@@d.e.7467 Frugality is the wise man's feast of choice.
Conan broke when Jose dropped the "Take your
Pulse" retort. This is
Andy Daly level brilliance.
I love how this character has to improv his entire presence.
This is some improv masterclass. So damn hilarious
