    I think the craziest part of Hot Ones, is that Sean asks the most in depth, deep, and intelligent questions of any interview show there is. They dig deep, to learn everything they can about their guests, and don't just ask them the generic same set of questions over and over.

      It causes a certain irony when he appears on other shows, and it's clear those interviewers know him nowhere near as well as he's known his own past guests and their bodies of work. I get that they have too many guests for that to be feasible, but the difference is stark. Hot Ones is the only celebrity interview show I've ever found interesting, because you actually get to see the real people underlying the facades. (Maybe not in Conan's case - I think he's always fully himself...)

    This interview just helped me realize that Sean Evans has started to change the game for mainstream media interviewing as a whole. Hoda asked him about his first job as a tour guide years ago. That’s the exact type of question that Sean asks people:) All these interviewers are seeing the value of deep, thoughtful, well researched questions from hot ones and are taking notes. It’s a beautiful thing for the industry to honor the guest and it increases the viewership experience. Years ago Tori Kelly was interviewed on Sway in the morning. One of the hosts started commenting about her music and then said “I’ve only listened to two songs”. Kelly made a nice, gentle zinger back to him about listening more to her music before making a judgment call. Sean Evan’s probably spends 40 hours researching and crafting questions for a single guest. I do think 10 years from now the average mainstream interviewer will have at least moderately improved questions based on Sean’s influence!!

    I appreciate that he asks questions that are not the norm for a celebrity. Questions that surprise and tickle the celebrities. Sean treats them like people not movie stars. It's very humanizing considering the 'persona' that celebrities normally have in public.

  • @joeskienz
    @joeskienz 5 місяців тому

    Sean Evans deserves an Emmy as he does the best research out of any talk show and asks the widest range of questions outside of the usual boring stuff that other talk show hosts usually ask. He can deep dive into a guest's past, ask an oddball question, talk about family, or chat about their guest's early song/album/sports team/book/acting career/job. Only Narduwar can compare and he is the O.G. deep dive interviewer. Sean is the next best.
    Also I wish that Sean would talk about how the hot sauce causes the guest to drop their guard or safety net and how it can help get the truth out by forcing their brain to concentrate on the question and not the heat level, and how the hot sauce can make the person feel drunk or high.

      @@sarahvangorden7551 Guys surprisingly he kinda is always like that. I've watched and listened to his podcast. He talks about how he can't "turn it off" and it's a common complaint among his friends and his wife. Yes the Dr. Arroyo bit was fake (it was still unscripted), but other than the "doctor", Conan is really like that pretty much 100% of the time. He's insanely hilarious, but sometimes listening to him too much is literally infuriating for me because he can't turn off the comedy. He's just like that. He can have more sincere moments with his normal friends and celebrity friends, but he always closes a point with a joke. His podcast co-hosts always point it out to him that he just couldn't leave the sincerity of the moment alone.

    The thing I've noticed with Hot ones interviews..
    The real person comes out.
    Soo many famous people that I really wasn't that fond of..
    They go on hot ones, and they're some of the most down to earth genuine people that I end up having a huge amount of respect for.
    And then there's the flipside to that.
    Quite a few famous people that are household names, they go on hot ones, and my opinion of them by the end of the interview is that of "wow, you're actually a real PoS in real life".

    Been a fan since the Hot Ones🔥 show started on UA-cam. To finally see Sean Evans & the team of the show getting the recognition & respect they deserve is ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! 👏🏼His interview questions are so insightful the guests are always impressed as are we the audience. His charming demeanor with his ability to lead the conversation or sit back to ensure the guests get to answer in totality are appreciated. Main stream media has intervened in the interview process so much seems we’ve lost the connection to their guests. Almost always just an appearance to promote promote promote which we understand yet still feels lacking in any & all sincerity. It’s too the point it’s overly orchestrated & curated. We as the audience enjoy the authenticity of the Hot Ones🔥 interviews that they provide by being in a fun relaxed environment. Sean is STELLAR as at his job! He has navigated so many personalities & although you can see guests are sometimes resistant with their stories, he makes it seem effortless. Seeing his guests appreciate him as much as we do is the cherry on top! Congratulations to Sean Evans & everyone who makes the Hot Ones🔥 the success IT IS!!! 👏🏼 Please keep doing what you’re doing & growing your platform without losing its Value. We’ll be here to support you all & the journey 💜
