    Hey, I'm from UK and am having a real hard time finding the right hand/drivers side/offside driveshaft for my MiTo QV. I have looked everywhere and can't find one. Could you please give me the part number as the one on my old driveshaft has rubbed off which is making it even harder to find one.
    Thanks!!!

      Hey, sorry for the late reply. So I went down in the basement where I keep my old shafts but there is no part number visible. However on the packaging of the new Spidan Shafts the number is 25880 which is the same on both sides of the car. The passenger side has an extension going into the gearbox which I didn't replace

      Pretty sure they are the same both sides.

      @@itsaboutcarsythi, when replacing the passenger side, what process did you use to remove it from the extension and then fit the new one?

    NM of zentral-lock-nut, Alfa loves special routines for this nut
    grease bolts if they tend to rust, even if you´re using a new one
    good job, nice english for a german guy

    You cant open the clamp if you want to change the entire shaft, included the housing of the final bearing. Sometimes that "housing" is worn, you need to change it.

    Start by changing the drop links, after much work and investigation the cheapest parts turned out to be the source of the noise the dealer couldn’t find !

      @itsaboutcarsyt  3 роки тому

      Yeah like I said, didn't have the time to find out what's the source. But true, often it's a simple replacement.

    Hallo, 😊
    Wo haste die Antriebswellen herbkommen? Ich hab im Video gesehen, dass die von der Firma Spidan sind. Bei AutoDoc und Co sind sie nicht lieferbar. Hab einen Punto Evo mit dem Multiair Motor und habe das 5 Gang Getriebe auf 6 Gang (c635) umgebaut. Dabei musste ich die Antriebswellen wechseln da die alten logischerweise nicht passen.
    Danke und Gruß

      Hey, ich habe die beim lokalen kfz Teilehandel (hennig/wm/etc) bestellt. Ist sehr teuer aber die Qualität stimmt dann auch :)
      Würde nach SKF fragen, wenn das nicht geht, dann spidan.

    interestingly, I have a 2009 155hp mito Veloce, and my cup didn't have a rubber seal like yours did. Also, should the cup, once the drive shaft is removed, rattle around a little? Mine does and I am wondering if that is where my knocking has been coming from?

    Great video, 2 questions though,
    How did you jack the car up?
    Secondly whats the torque on the cv joint nut (the 36mm)?

    • @itsaboutcarsyt
      @itsaboutcarsyt  3 роки тому +1

      I am jacking the MiTo up right next to the wheelbases, there's a tiny arrow on the sideskirt pointing to the location
      The 36mm central nut is difficult to find a correct spec for, I just went with 200nm plus a quarter turn around and checked it after 100km

    • @randomchannel1712
      @randomchannel1712 3 роки тому

      @@itsaboutcarsyt fiat grande Punto service manual suggests a torque od 66nm and 60 degrees more

    • @itsaboutcarsyt
      @itsaboutcarsyt  3 роки тому +1

      @@randomchannel1712 66nm?? For the central nut holding the axle shaft and the whole wheel together? wth, seems a bit low for me. After all its the only connection between wheel and transmission. I'll ask around, tell you later

    Do you have any idea why the driveshaft damaged?

    • @itsaboutcarsyt
      @itsaboutcarsyt  3 роки тому +1

      Guess I could've skipped swapping the shafts because it wasn't really failing, just a slight noise. Maybe it wasn't assembled correctly or my style of driving caused excessive wear (I usually can't keep moderate speed it bores me)

  • @anthonyho67
    @anthonyho67 3 роки тому

    Where did you order the Driveshaft?

    • @itsaboutcarsyt
      @itsaboutcarsyt  3 роки тому +1

      Got it at a local shop, paid more than I would've paid online though.
