Thing is, it's all over now. *EVEN IF* Rocksteady survives this (and I think their name will in some capacity), it's no longer the Rocksteady we knew.
It's the Rocksteady where some of the talented veterans (including Sefton Hill) have left to make the studio Hundred Star Games.
It's the Rocksteady which got about 13 Sweet Baby Inc people on their payroll and who think it's more important to make SJW/feministic/LGBTQ+ insertions (no matter how clonky they are) in their story, while not caring for overall good storytelling for ALL their players.
It's the Rocksteady that thinks doing that is also more important than doing what their existing playerbase asks for.

Similarly, there is no Arkhamverse anymore. Kevin Conroy passed away. The Arkham Batman was unceremoniously executed by one of his least dangerous rogues for feminism-points.
@goblinounours yup it hurts to see such a talented studio fall off a cliff and unfortunately this isn't just 1 bad game they put out, they unfortunately let in those cancerous pieces of shit from sweet baby inc. And now its a completely different studio, now there isn't a trace of the old studio. So even if they make a new batman game its not going to be good, the writing is dog shit, the art design is crap, and the stupid agenda being pushed is going to ruin it. Its a better idea to support the studio that the old founders of rocksteady started rather than whatever this new rocksteady company is now.

While I would agree normally, this game actually dropped with a complete set of content that was exactly what was promised, so far. All future characters and story dlc will be free, the same cannot be said for most other live services such as Destiny, Anthem, Avengers, just to name a few

DLC is supposed to be extra, not continueing the story to get the true ending. We've let live service do this. And it's messed up.

I've gotten to around level 30 mastery on each of the missions and let me tell you, it does not get better the higher you go. An explanation I've seen floating around is that the people who enjoy the game tend to be from the younger Tik-tok generation, who came for the looter-shooter genre and never cared for the Arkham games, who like all the flashing lights, who have low attention spans, low media literacy, etc.
Not sure if these theories holds any value, but I guess it makes sense to some capacity. IMHO, you have to be idiotic to defend SSKtJL and to purposefully ignore the mountain of flaws.

One thing I'll forever be grateful for this game is we got to hear Kevin Conroy as Arkham Batman one final time and it wasn't what i wanted but I'm still glad I got it because if we got a Superman game Kevin would've passed anyway and the last time you would've heard him as Arkham Batman would be Arkham Knight.
Honestly, I disagree, I'd rather his final role as the Arkham Batman was in Arkham Knight. In any case, SSKtJL wasn't his final role as Batman in general, since we will hear him one last time in the Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3 animated movie. This for me will wash away the awful taste of SSKtJL.

Sweet Baby Inc reminds me of Q5, the focus group who ruined kids cartoons in the 80s. Two of the shows they completely ruined were Pound Puppies and Real Ghostbusters.
Ironically, after ruining these shows and angering the fans and viewers, Q5 vanished into obscurity.
To this day, people are still very angry with Q5.
If you want to know what Q5 did to Real Ghostbusters, look up the vid "The Real Ghostbusters: The Bad episodes." Apparently Q5 were called in to "fix" the show even though there was nothing wrong with the show. It was awesome, it had 100% ratings, everyone loved it, no problems at all, then after Q5 tampered with it, the ratings dropped and it fell apart.
My guess is that Q5 found nothing wrong with the show, so rather than say "looks great, keep it up", they decided to "find" something wrong that wasn't there.

Arkham Knight Ending:

This doesn’t surprise me but then again I don’t care for this game or the continuation of this universe.
One of rule of any business is to deliver to a target group, which exists.
It might be wide or it might be niche (in any case one need to have a properly sized budget).
I have impression that both movie industry and gaming industry lost this principle along the way.
There are examples of games lasting more than a decade. So it can be done.
Fun fact even though game like ETS2 was created way before “live service” become a buzz word it is one of the games which is more than a decade old, got number of patches and upgrades and various smaller (paint jobs) and bigger (map extensions) DLCs.
But the problem I see is companies like SqrEnx, WB do not just want to earn money they want to have the next Fortnite not really understanding why this particular game was successful.
I have a feeling they will release future content, simply because they’ve put all their eggs in this basket. It kind of reminds me of a movie (many DCEU ones lol) that went through heaps of reshoots and didn’t get scrapped. That said the content still probably won’t sell that well, sad to see.
Hopefully this ends the superhero live servicd crap
I feel that everything they promised from seasons 1-4 will come out and be the full year of content for 2024 which includes characters like Joker, Mrs Freeze, Lawless. After that, there’s no guarantee for new stuff after we get Deathstroke in the game
I think people have it mixed about the live service nature of the game. Unlike others like Destiny, Anthem, hell even Avengers, all the future story dlc AND characters are 100% FREE. Not to mention the game was released in a *mostly* completed state with exactly what was promised. Now the reason people aren’t playing is because the servers are having major issues, when it launched from early access till the first patch it was completely stable UNTIL that first patch. Idk if it was the patch itself or some other factor but the connection/server issues have been getting progressively worse which is why people aren’t getting on. Hopefully by season 1 all of this will be patched but guys let’s be fair. This game is far better off than most other live services that have come out and to say they should just give up when all those other games had a dedicated player base and weren’t even fixed until years later is very disingenuous

It was at 500 active players a few hours ago and even got down to around 103- 250 for a while which is just insane since thee games to rely on a consistent growing player base.

I think it’s deeper than that. People who play FIFA and other sports games, probably don’t play other games, and the people who play games like cod probably only play things like cod. As for Fortnite and Destiny, they are supported by whales, but there aren’t a lot of them. That’s the biggest issue with live service games, they cater to a small audience who are most likely already playing something else.

By no means do I love this game but I gotta say I been putting a ton of time into it and I’m psyched for future content
They will keep saying that they will keep supporting it a long time, however they need to say this, is to try to revive the player base.
I have 105 hours played. I'm praying to get at least a year of content, or at the very least, just an end to the story. It was one of my favorite dc stories, I'm a sucker for stories where the good guys lose. As far as batman deaths, they've definitely done better, but they could have at least degraded batman a little bit more considering what he's done to practically everyone in Harleys life lol don't get me wrong, of course they're villains, but people hold grudges and you can't tell me none of those 50 hit combos didn't leave at least one person with permanent brain damage 😅😂
They should've made Arkham Beyond instead RIP Rocksteady
All I want is to see Batman come back. Then the game can die. If this game means anything I’d like rocksteady to at least see that retcon through. Then they can shut off service and I can move on.

The gunplay and traversal attacks it the game are really fun- it’s just the end game loop that’s bad… if they made coop missions and raids like destiny. The game will probably be A lot better and more people will play. But if it’s the same incursion loop it’s doomed

The game do have cool mechanics gameplay, but the story is off and mission have no meaning after the end game.
i thought the game was doing bad on PC performance wise, which is why it’s a low player count.
But the devs got to release these DLC ASAP.

they only said 4 seasons was anounced which each season last 90 days which makes it 1 year of content each season is split into 2 episodes each episode lasting 6 weakes so there was only 1 year of content green lit and not the 3 years that you said in your video
