Just to clarify, I am sure that there are more remotes out there that have screens....I am only talking about the remotes that I have actually bought and tested.

Urban 80 is a nice board but the performance does depend on the riders weight quite a lot. Do you mind me asking how heavy are you?
I’m not sure on my weight exactly, but I’m 18 and I’m average height, but I know I’m light in weight

Hey ,great video btw.I really like your break downs.it helps with the buying and service after you buy something.question for you. I just got a FOCBOX unity but i am having the issue of my Flipsky vx2 pro not wanting to pair with the FOCBOX. I disabled ppm and I am running UART ON BAND 115200 BAUD.Any help or input would be appreciated . thanks

I ad an issue where the receiver has failed and the remote was not connecting. Try emailing Flipsky and ask for the replacement ... alternatively, join ESK8FREEDOM facebook group ( it is my ESK8 group ) and ask the question on there.
Many good DIY guys are there and will be able to help further.
@@PavelGarmas thanks man.after hours of searching, it ended up being that 2 cables came crossed from factory and were plugged in the wrong places.one cable was overlapping the other.ill join the group, thanks.

@@PavelGarmas yea man, I spoke to Flipsky directly last night about that.they told me I had the new version of the control.after spending the whole day looking for what was wrong and testing the Remote with my other VESC and it working fine,I was baffled as to why.Thanks God I found the information online but it was not easy to find.I was upset to find out that it came down to switching 2 cables.lol.lesson learned. Check cables for factory mess ups.
That Maytech is a beauty, Pavel. What steps a person have to take with a factory built board to make another remote work with it? I suppose a matching receiver and anything else?

Good question my friend. All the remotes come with a receiver or need an NRF dongle ( trampa wand ) to work. Unfortunately most of the manufactured boards use esc ( the brain ) that has the receiver inbuilt. The best way to upgrade the board is to replace the esc to a vesc based esc that is programmable and can be customised to the risers needs. All none manufactured board esc units can work with different remotes. There are some exceptions, for instance the WAND does work with VESC based esc only and will not operate with Unity. Most of the more expensive boards ( Trampa, Kaly,Lacroix…. ) do have programmable esc so you could replace the receiver and the remote.

Hi! I have the slick revolution controller for my slick revolution board, but I want to change the esc to a VESC while still using the slick revolution controller and receiver. Do you know if this is possible?

Thank you for the question. Unfortunately it is not possible because the remote receiver is actually integrated into the esc. SR do not have a separate receiver for the remote.
Pavel Garmas thanks for the answer, but are you sure about that? I have the older SR Dual Max board, and there is a separate receiver that is connected with pin-contacts. It may be different with the newer boards you have experience with tho

I do prefer the thumb operated remotes in general so the wand and flipsky Pro are my favorite at the moment....however the maytech trigger remote is now available as an esk8 only version so is very cheap and good quality / price wise.

Unfortunately i did not have the pleasure to try the Photon remote.... thing is that all the remotes in the video belong to the and they do cost quite a bit so id do have a limit of how many things i can review. Maybe in the future i will get a chance to review stuff but not as yet.

Thank you for the question. It is very important to use a good quality esc as well . Good remote will feel like a bad one otherwise.
To me, remote needs to have a smooth and long trigger travel and a strong signal so I would say : Trampa WAND then Maytech waterproof , then Flipsky VX2 in my opinion.
I do use all the mentioned remotes and do have detailed video on each one of them if interested.
can you see any of these in daylight?

Not all are the same brightness.... the best one to see in the day light is the Maytech screen I would say. I can do a short video on how they are in the light if interested,

Got the Flipsky mini , Enertion Nano X ( under 50 ) ; Maytech waterproof ( 200 ) and Flipsky VX2 ( 100 ).

No but I do have two Flipsky4.12 that i am not using but the MBUS does not work on them for some reason so i was using them by "Y" splicing the PPM signal and they do work that way.
@@PavelGarmas sorry, I'm new to DIY eboards. Why is it then dont work?
There are two ways of controlling the esc if two are used. One way is via the mbus connector and the other is splicing the PPM signal cable. MBUS connection on the 4.12 does not work but does operate fine with PPM splice.
Hey, does anybody know of any remotes that would work with an electric skateboard's remote that broke (and the manufacturer is no longer in business)?
I have a "LiftBoard", rode it like a total of 3 hours only and the remote got stuck accelerating (something to do with when it was off and plugged it in to charge via USB and it just got stuck accelerating, tried disconnecting the power/solder after taking it apart which worked, but then i plugged it in again and the same thing happened again).
I read somewhere that you can get them on like AliExpress, but i have no idea how to even configure the frequency to get it to work.
Can anybody provide insight on remotes that would work universally and how you would go about setting them up?

I do not use it and can sell it to you buddy. As I mentioned, I did not test it under water so do not know how waterproof it is....it does say that it is 1 M under water ready. Are you on Facebook? Find me and PM.
