It's functionality looks a lot better than I thought it would do when I first saw it last year. Looks really good. I have had no issues with Maytech stuff.

Pavel...just got my remote but there was an issue with the LCD screen bleeding. Contacted Maytech and got a call from China and they are sending me a new remote DHL...and will send the first one back. Great customer service so far but bummer on the first one. Thanks for the how to video...much appreciated.....
Hi Marc! Thanks for watching and very sorry that you had an issue buddy. Most importantly - it is sorted and you are not stuck with a faulty item. Keep me posted on how you get om mate! Ride safely and stick around ; )
Nice one Pavel. ordered mine (along with 6374 170kv motors) on Sunday and got it today! excellent service. pity i'm likely going to be waiting months for the Unitys to arrive.
Hi! Nice one mate. Same here - 4 days to come in. Sorry to hear about the unity though.... this is why i did go for the Flipsky 6.6 plus - 7 days and I had it : )
You have a first class remote there, Pavel, and it looks like you did have a bit of a ride:) A test of the water proofing, as well. You paid the price in getting soaked, but well worth for another informative and well done video. Heavy rain this morning and strong wind so I doubt I will get out on my board, but I did enjoy your ride on The Beast! I am having internet problems here. I think my router is going bad. So, if I should be absent for a few days, that is the reason.
@@PavelGarmas I watched a UA-cam video on router problems, followed the directions on how to do a hard reboot, and things are back to normal, at least for now:)
@@PavelGarmas Well, not quite:) Things are back to abnormal again, but I do have an somebody coming in the morning who does know IT:) I see you are up early again, my friend!
Hello Kian, Yes I am nut I have never tested it in fully submerged conditions, I did use it a really heavy rain but that's it. It does have a nice trigger travel that's for sure.
Hi, Thank you for the question. The remote in the video is the generation 1 and is duel use - skateboards and the electric surf boards. Maytech do now sell esk8 based remote and it does show more information.
Hello, i discover your channel, very impressive ! I order my first electric skateboard, i am a newbie, this remote is compatible with a skateboard SYL 08?
Hello buddy, Welcome to my channel! I have just looked at the SYL 08 but there are no details of what speed controller is being used. Looking at the price of the board, I would assume that it does have a lower range none-programmable esc. The remote in the video can be used with any board that has a speed controller with a separate ( not integrated ) remote receiver. you can open up the enclosure ( if you are comfortable with DIY ) and check what esc is used. My guess is - NO you can not use this remote.
@@PavelGarmas Thank you for your answer...hard for me to all understand because i just wait for my SYL08, english is not perfect for me and technical about electric skate board is totally new...I ask same question to Maytech, and for the seller on Ali, so i wait an answer (Maytech answer me this : Our remote cna only work with PWM signal format VESC/ESC, please confirm with the skateboard supplier if theie skateboard can work with PWM signal. )...I see on a forum somebody who use a remote VX1 and it is ok with the SYL 08...so i have supposed it is ok with other remote, but all is totally new for me, so i try to understand :)
I finally find the review of a SYL08 buyer, he buy a VX01 and it works, i don't understand anything...maybe a VX2 works also wth a SYL08? Here his review :" I charged it up and went for a ride only to find it had intermittent cutoff issues. I opened it up and found some sort of very proprietary FOC controller. I do believe it's true sinusoidal control. Anyhow, I did attempt to solder what appeared to be loose connections but all to no avail. I contacted GB and went through the process of providing them with videos of the issue and I was refunded $100 which I used towards the purchase of a Flipsky Dual 4.20 FSESC and VX1 remote/receiver combo. All of that installed very easily and I now have no intermittent cutoff issues plus I have access to the Vedder ESC programming software- which is beyond incredible."
Did you get the speed showing correctly on yours mine isnt at all, I'm going easily 25mph and shows like 1.6 lol if tried in data I tried vesc and motor wire mode.
Hi John, I do not use the speed reading on the controller to be honest but what you could do is play around with pulley sizes and rearing to get the speed right ... use phone gps app to compare to the screen readings.
Hello, Thank you for watching! I have not tested the Top speed as yet.... motors are set to 60% only and I am hitting 25 -28 mph without even trying. Not sure but will test soon - need to replace the bushings : )
