Send the data to EA after you're done Alex, they might need it lmao
EA doesn't create the game they just promote and publish it, code masters is the one who needs to see this
EA will probably focus more on F1 Life than Game to real life optimization.
@@JoyKazuhira they can make this a ....paid DLC!!!
Ea wont care, although they should give it to codemaster
@@jj72rg then no one would buy it lmao
in Monza, cars are running with a much flatter wing compared to Hungary so the difference DRS creates is a lot less, I assume teams adapting the car to each circuit isn't simulated in the game and the devs would probably need to tweak the physics by every track to achieve this
yea there needs to be a mod that reduces the DRS effectiveness the lower your rear wing angle is, obviously Codies wont do this because it is against their philosophy in the F1 games of improving raceability
Not necessarily, they would need a consistent physics model, that takes in count setups, and the setups need to apply those modifications properly
@CoastalLab Wait please don't expect too much from codies
The first have to implement some new features that no one will ever use and then they focus on the important stuff
How is the game computing DRS? Is it constant boost to the engine power or does it simply reduce rear wing drag and downforce like it should?
Youre just wrong bro. The game isn’t supposed to be realistic lmfao, it needs an actual simulation physics model
do you think you could make a collective file of these in a google drive or race department for us to download and use our selves?
please 🙏🙏
please 🙏🙏
it’s scales. your running high downforce at Hungary so the affect of the DRS is more then the low downforce and small rear wing you would run at Monza. it isn’t one number for the DRS it’s just depending on the amount of downforce your running
It’s more that the drs strength is the same at every track. Which isn’t true in real life because the more wing they run, the more drs there will be. In the game it’s the same no matter what wings you run.

2 people beating a whole company at making a game💀
*2 people changing some numbers on a game that has been worked on for over a decade.
I’m sorry, but I’m pretty sure that Gillon didn’t make a whole game
@@justinburley8659 2 people changing game physics based off readily available data that codemasters could’ve utilized
@@RW38B Like Gillon said, changing one thing can change multiple other things. His mod was no where near as realistic when he hot lapped Monza. At least the base game is more consistent.
I too feel that there’s a lot of improvements for Codies to make, but I abhor when people discredit devs because someone tweaked a view lines of code that where developed by the devs. Modding and building a whole game from the ground up is incomparable
@@justinburley8659 FINALLY SOMEONE WITH BRAIN
@@RW38B the tires bring less sensitive and the drs being less powerful are clearly design choices to improve accessibility/racing
One solution to aid in consistency is Laser Scanned tracks. there are other complications of course but that is a start for more accurate performance gathering.
I reckon that in game low wings give you more additional top speed relative to irl but irl the DRS delta is smaller with low wings, yet the game ignores that
I think a large part of the difficulty of making a realistic game (aside from choosing to build the game for accessibility) is the lack of data, which the teams are probably unwilling to share. I understand releasing the 2022 game in the 2022 season from a marketing perspective. But from a driving perspective, I think it would be cool to develop the games with (probably several) years delay, with the teams giving full access to their data.
I think what’s probably the hardest part for the game is when you play career and your car improves. It makes it harder to nerf the car then. Just a theory. I hope F1 can implement this data to get the cars more closer to real life figures.
The cars improve at a ridiculous rate in career. In F121 heading towards the end of my first season I'm almost 1.5 secs quicker in qualifying compared to the realistic time trial car which is basically the same car that you start out with at the beginning of career mode.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to do this at Australia since that track is actually scanned and thus the most accurate to real life?
But that's not as fun to drive.
@@oonmm certainly more fun than hungary
@@janmacsween3689 That's nothing compared to Miami.
How effective DRS is depending on how much wing you’re using. I think they did not code that into the game and the DRS is good now in Hungary but it’s way to strong in Monza, because the cars have much lower wing, which should mean the DRS effect is much less but it’s not in the game.
One solution for this could be track modes. Each track could have it s own set up and after that they will be more realistic.
Yea that would be the way to do it. Let’s see if any modder puts in the work to do it😭
thats what we have had before f1 22. for example in f1 2020 you could use 11/11 wings in monza and you would still be faster on the straights than for example in hungaroring with 1/1 wings
@@Bilalx1905 thats true but that’s not what he means.
For example, let’s say you ran 0-0 wings for a track like monza, you would gain less of a benefit from the slipstream and drs because your wings are smaller, therefore opening the wing wouldn’t bring much benefit.
But then at a track like Brazil, you may use higher wings, so being in the drs and stream would bring more benefit.
As the game stands now, and have been forever, you do not gain or lose drs advantage by lowering or raising wings.
@@talibjames2659 yeah my bad i know what he means now thanks
This is really cool stuff. It would be fascinating to try this with the good old Factor which still today is the best reference for simulation apart rFpro.
Interesting video. I would have wanted to see similar data analysis against the real car for the Monza lap.
Would be interesting what F1 eSports drivers could archive with this mod. Maybe send it over to them might be a cool video
You should change the ers sistem, because in a quali lap drivers actually puts ers on recharge before the braking point(actually the car software does it by itself). It would slow down the cars a lot at the end of the straight, not allowing them to reach very high speed
If they would ever make f1 23 with aero and things like you made, I think I'll buy it in the day one edition
Please make thomas ronhaar mod. You need to increase mechanical grip to do that.
you should do a video where Brrrake is your engineer during a race
In terms of the DRS, there needs to be a modifier for it getting weaker the less rear wing you have on. At Monza, the DRS is of minimal assistance because the rear wing already generates so little drag, whereas Hungary being a high downforce track, the rear wing is significantly larger and the difference is huge.
It seems like DRS in game is just a flat increase; I gain just as much at Monza as I do elsewhere
Since in F1 22 lower wings are overpowered, you could add drag from the car body and lessen the drag given by wings
Love how latifi is the benchmark
The tyre temperature thing is so complex you'd probably have to redesign the whole temperature physics in the game to make it more realistic
You still gotta add grip in the lower gear too
I think the best way to modify the DRS should be make it more powerful the more downforce you have in your rear wing. I think that should fix the Monza problems
You should link to files or upload them to Race Department mods section. There have been quite a few video's of yours that were really interesting. Like this one and the why are the AI so much faster on the straights.
What about the high altitude in Mexico for instance? I'm fairly certain the F1 games don't take that into account either.
You can run with pretty high wings in Mexico and still achieve incredible speeds on the straight (in real life) due to the air resistance being much lower there. In the game however, running high wings there will make you crazy slow on the straight...
Very interesting haha, would have been too cool if the mod worked for every track basically, but then again, why would EA not have done it then ;)
Looking good! Where can we download this Beauty?
Please post this mod somewhere F1 22 pc community need this
Install some grip mods to make up for the fact the game's mechanics are lacking on high speed corners, that's sure to improve lap times!
You should increase weight in the game and increase downforce. Increase downforce for high speed and slower in slow speed from weight
Very interesting video but I do think it's quite poor to have tested the mod in One Shot Qualy as the grip the track offers is quite reduced. Short qualy would have probably worked but if you want maximum grip, you need to do a full qualy and wait till Q3. That would have provided you the best track conditions possible.
Especially how they messed up the DRS in 2022 its super annoying, its not at all strong
Could the reason for there being a large difference at other tracks be due to track inaccuracies? I don't think the F1 game uses track scans for every track and so could this explain the difference we are seeing with the realistic mod working at some tracks and not others? Would it be possible with the mod you're making to add laser scanned tracks?
Sainz actually had a 360KMH in the race, with slipstream tho
Tyre temps/wear, make different aerodynamic models (DRS is less effective in Monza because of low downforce wings) than in Bahrain for example, and tyre compounds. I'm not sure but I think there's only 3 compounds available for all tracks instead of the 5 there were available. Also for 23 I think there adding 2 compounds so that's gonna make it even worse
As it is in Real life: for each track/race weekend all teams get 3 different compounds of tyres from the 6 in the overall selection (Softest C0 - Hardest C5). Those 3 Compounds are always named and marked for Soft, Medium and Hard but f.e. on a track like Monza it can be the Soft Tyre (C0) Medium Tyre (C1) and hard Tyre (C2). which are the softest in the collection. But in Austin it can be the Soft (C3) Medium (C4) and Hard (C5). which are the hardest tyres in the collection. In fact u might know all the tyres from a couple of years ago hypersoft (C0), ultrasoft (C1), supersoft (C2), soft (C3), medium (C4), hard (C5).
@@DraqzF1 you think I don't know how tyres work IRL? I meant it as in the softs from Bahrein (for example) are the sames as the softs on Monaco. There's not 5 compounds in the game. Only 3
you didn't think about the fact that the setups are differents for every race.
Is there a possibiliy to get the file so that i can use it in my game. Lately the game has been frustrating and maybe this will make it better again.
I suspect the Sim Engineers have to treat each track like a different game, because you have to factor in things like altitude, air pressure, wind speed, track and air temperature, etc.
They have hundreds of employees, I'm sure they can put a team of 5 on adapting the base physics to each track with some tweaks to at least get it closer to reality.
I see EA not caring at all cause this game is an annual release. I think that they would give a bit more careif itwas a singular launch and improve plus update it periodically, like other sims do.
7:26 he did the mr beast thing
reason why you faster in straigghts is stupid wing settings in game 50/50 options whille in real life teams only had 3-4 wing options for rear and front wing flaps was adjustable propably 10-ish option.
I don't know if the term "realistic" is appropriate and more like "I fiddled with the dials until they kinda lined up in this specific circumstance".
Now I understand why AI is so fast in straights and so slow through low speed corner entreis
But one more question how can be even faster than E-sports driver in corner exits (especially in low speed). Tyre temperatures?
Is this legal to do in the game tho? like if you wanna do multiplayer runs, apart from time attacks. or maybe even for the grand prix campaign
i d love something similar but 2013 ....
it would actually be fun to play if the game was realistic
where do we get the mod?
Can you share the mod?
Considering how Mexico is a max downforce track jn real life, it sucks in the game how you have to run a max speed setup to even be competitive
Like 97% engine power in this mod and 103% more downforce would fix it i think
i feel like in the game there is just a huge amount of understeer compared to IRL
Thomas ronhaar mod
i just want them to fix tyres so we dont need to always run minimum pressures
I was always under the impression that you used brakes to heat up the carcass but when i was doing the tire warm up and using brakes to warm them up it wasn't really affecting the temps at all. I just use surface now instead of carcass and surface.
I have one question. You talk about making the game more "realistic" while using "T-Cam"?
Fix the unrealistic downshift
woahhh
Drive in cockpit mode with no display
Goatifi 💀
So is this mod not publicly available? I see no links🤦🏻♂️
If u r faster than real pole time in realistic mod ask f1 team to get u
Why do you wear the gloves? Is the wheel really that hard on your hands or is it just to make it more realistic? If we're going for realism then why not a helmet too? That would be badass.
amaizing how Alex can fix the game and EA cant do shit.
In this very video Alex mentions that "fixing" Hungary made Monza extremely wacky, meaning it is obviously not as simple as just tweaking a few things to universally make the game better. So he clearly hasn't fixed the game.
The game is also developed by Codemasters, btw, not EA. The games were fucky before EA came in. The state of the games is on Codies, not on EA.
But even then - there is a massive difference between making an entire game where everything has to work together as a whole (aka not just 1 track needs to work well, but all of them) and a modder who tweaks values on the already existing systems put there by the devs.
The problem of the game has always been too much low speed cornering
It’s because the “ground effect” isn’t a thing in the game. It’s basically just heavier cars with 2021 regs. More proof of this is the 2022 cars were able to do Copse flat out. On the F1 game it’s just not possible.
@@talibjames2659 Hell you couldn't even do Copse flat in 2021 but you could in F1 2020.
@@Nicolas_Cage_Bees you definitely could on f1 2021. At least on FOM cars
@@talibjames2659 I always lost it trying to do it flat in 2021. I could just barely do T1 flat in that game but always had to lift at Copse.
@@Nicolas_Cage_Bees I mean this in the nicest possible way, but that is definitely a skill issue😭
the point should be making the videogame as much closer as possible to IRL and even if you don't reach the perfect equality but you're on/off 2 tenth well it's ok but how the game works now it's not real at all
Setup your plz

...don't get me wrong, but you should switch to a game that is more simulation then sim-cade as F22 is, maybe like Assetto Corsa or some similar real sim game...
?
The point of the videos was just to see how the F1 game differs from reality. Because it's interesting.
i find it so funny that the original creators cant fucking docus on these. like the cars have too much grip at low speed, and too little grip at high speed.
Because the original creators also have to create every other system in the game.
In this very video they mention that "fixing" Hungary made Monza extremely wacky, meaning it is obviously not as simple as just tweaking a few things to universally make the game better.
I find it funny that creators putting together the entire engine and entire game is always equated to modders tweaking a few values in an already built system.
From the programmers point of view to make a realistic game in which there are a lot of variations of different things is impossible. Give due credit to what they have achieved with the game and continue to upgrade with each passing year
Just goes to show you how little the devs care about actual driving experience
Please make this mod available!!!
Why just dont play asseto corsa ?
Because then there wouldn't be a video?
The point was to see how to make THIS GAME closer to reality because... it'd be an interesting experiment.
Don't post this kinda thing too often caue Thomas Ronhaar is watching and he might wanna use this cheat too lmao!
To make racing game realistic it should simulate physics as precisely as possible. This kind of arcade game probably is not very good simulation and uses some made up variables.
Increasing overheating? Ew
'More realistic' yet constantly drives in t-cam.
0:25
If you (Alex Gillon) have made quite the same time as George Russell, how can you say that it's anything close to reality?
Do you consider yourself to be a sim driver at George Russell's level? Do you think you'd have any chance to match his pole time?
That's just annoying to hear as an argument for proving this a more realistic mod. You could have pulled out who knows how many better arguments to prove your point, but you've chosen one that not only doesn't prove it but it contradicts your point.
Chill homie
"More realistic," just get Assetto Corsa if you want simulation
And then there wouldn't be a video.
The point was to see how to make THIS GAME closer to reality because... it'd be an interesting experiment?
@Senny I understand, but the physics in that game are no where near AC either way. AC would be cheaper too, IF you have a PC
brakef1 is the most overrated F1 content creator. change my mind
but porposing
Put this mod straight in for co-op and leave Benny "the restart" bottler in the bin 🤣
Great win first race back and glad you came back after he wined and dined you 🤣🤣 but I have to admit...it's a pretty cool card 🫶⛳
