Biggest thing on this years game that gains you lap time compared to last year is prioritising exits, even by focusing mentally on the exit and not charging in with speed can gain you time!!

4:33 does that seem like 6M to you mate :D go outside and measure 6M. Don't rely on everything the game shows you. 4:29 you can see Lucas is on the line, but it says 3M. If the circuit is scaled down a bit compared to real life it might be 3M, but no way otherwise D:

The thing is, matching an esports driver is one thing, matching lucas is another
Some notes on the comparison, lucas is probably the best person on corner exits. He does brake a tiny bit early (thats why his braking points are almost same as alex, but you can see he can drop more speed due to his better use of available braking grip) to really maximize the exit, which is a key thing in f1 games, especially in the wet. Alex actually tends to drive more realistically imo but it cost him some time since this game really requires exit speed in most tracks. On heavy braking zones, its also possible to see esports drivers to miss the apex a tiny bit due to pushing the braking zone as far as possible, which was most common at hockenheim hairpin and you can also see lucas doing it the tiniest amount on turn 3.
How they find traction so early on corner exit is beyond me. I'm not Top 1%, but at some tracks I'm in the top 3-4% and I just cannot figure out how to find any more speed through a corner. I'm sure some of it has to do with not having a rigid racing rig, but its mostly just down to proper technique and natural gaming ability. There's a reason they are the fastest of the fastest.
Funny thing is a lot of these guys are top drivers in a racing game before they even learn how to drive in real life. Probably explains why they are so fast. They don't have any bad/realistic driving habits holding them back. They're just exploiting game mechanics.

Lucas uses higher gears, especially in the hairpin at the start of the second sector, Alex in 2nd Lucas in 4th gear
Pretty much every corner Lucas is in a gear higher and some corners 2 gears higher.
Like Turn 3 you are in 2nd gear and Lucas in 4th and Turn 5 you are in 2nd and Lucas in 4th.
also use more track. you're leaving a lot of space on the exits compared to him. he goes so much wider over the kerbs
Having more grip makes it even more crucial to use all of the track so its a huge advantage to use every pixel available even if its not realistic
@@user-zp3xc4to1t true, although using the full track makes margin for error even smaller considering a little moment will result in an invalidation/off track
The gearing from Lucas is crazy, he’s in 4th for the hairpins but by doing so he can stamp on the throttle.

You're quicker at some corner entries & even apex speeds but all this seems to prove is the adage 'Slow in, Fast out' is the true key to better lap times...

Hi Alex interested to see this, one thing I noticed is that he comes out of the exit of all the corners in a higher gear, this may explain the better acceleration that you mentioned.
Alex I think you should try league racing on this game as you do seem very quick and quicker than previous games.
he could be competitive in some of the highest leagues out there
Also Remember Lucas uses a controller.....which is even more nuts
He's slower on the apex but it looks like he get on throttle quicker

Better trail brake and better exit =Better lap time
I think they lines Esports drivers drive is weird and unrealistic, they drove so far outside of what would normally work, but in this game pretty much it doesn't matter.
At top level, you need to do anything that makes you faster, realistic or not
For example, marcel kiefer is really against being able to use this much curb but he has to do it or his esports career is over

Is there anyway that we can have say "Thrustmaster"" 150 pro times recorded for comparison purposes as they are entry level wheels. I think it might be a good video to do. Or maybe get ps4 to show it on the leader board.
He is using more of the track, especially on exits (but sometimes on entry too). Try be closer to track limits
Esport player says that using gears under 4 in this game is lost of time and if you watch he always use minimum 4 and that’s maybe the tenths you loose around the circuit
