Minimum wage in CA is more than $15 an hour vs Idaho where their minimum wage is $7.25. So, production of items have to cost more to pay for labor and regulations.

Ralph Lauren is notorious for outsourcing 90%+ of its products to other suppliers. While they often suggest that their items are made in the USA or Europe, the reality appears to be that much of the production happens in China, Vietnam, and Bangladesh. Oftentimes, though, the final assembly occurs in the US or Europe, which would permit them to claim that their items are America or European made. So, I guess we might be able to guess what the quality might be like…
I have 2 Ralph Lauren belts which I bought over 20 years ago, they are still intact. Been using them (only 2 belts I have had) for all these years until about 4 years ago I purchased a belt made by APC and last year a belt from Bally. The 2 Ralph Lauren belts are still being used but I just though I deserved to expand my collection a little bit 😅 I saw some new RL belts on website and they looked very similarly to the ones I have got, good thing about RL is that they are pretty consistent with their aesthetic.

I have taken it on vacations, it has gone through airport security, & when I go clothes shopping, I must take it off and put it back on multiple times. It is still in perfect condition, even after I tried to squeeze it through a non-Hermes buckle. When I needed an extra hole punched, I took it to Hermes and they gladly did it for me. I have definitely gotten my money’s worth! Although I bought it when prices were much lower. But that shows how well it has held up.
My heart skipped many beats when you scraped the real Hermes belt’s glazing. It hurts though it’s not my belt. While I am super curious about the truth, I am at the same time feeling it’s a waste of good leather belt. Thank you for making such a sacrifice.

I will recommend you to visit - it is possible time to time - an Hermes facility and you will see the quality of the leathers used, the respect of the animals providing these leathers ( even if at the end they finished in leather), the hand work of highly skilled craftsmen , happy to work there and happy to be able to Show their incredible quality of work. NOTHING to be compared with automatic machine work with poorly paid worker and leathers produced in poor condition with harmful chemicals. Impossible to compare, there is nothing comparable.

I’m very curious to see you doing one of these if possible - based on my observation the main differences are stitches and hardware/engraving. Not sure about what happens deep down the leather

Actually its true. In India also I know people who worked for big fashion brands, under annonimity, and secrecy contract. But the catch is even if they work this thing is done on assembly line method no bag is made by single or by two people. But always by more people who specialises actually themselves macanised. one is cutting, another sweing and so on. Even now many small factories are making such highend products. You will always find a difference in truly handmade and so called handmade where assembly process been used.
there’s also A- class and B-class fakes, with the A-class made in the same factory as the original-something i learnt from a group tour in an East Asian country
Those aren't really "fakes". At times it is how the factories make their real money. That is quote a low price and then make up thr margin on unsanctioned production runs with the same materials and staff.
When I visited Antalya in Turkey I came across the 'Bazaar' selling mostly fake designer bags and clothes. I asked one of the sellers if they imported from China and they said that they now have factories all over Turkey manufacturing fakes. They even make the Rolex watches in Turkey. I was quite impressed. They do have at least two 'qualities', the cheaper plastic and gilt ones and the real leather and good hardware as an option. As someone who has always worked in luxury in Paris I did study the bags and they were pretty good quality. I'm sure that between the leather quality, the hardware quality, the minimum overheads and salaries it could easily explain how these prices exist. I did buy two Contance belts, one I exchanged the next day as the colour came off on my white fabric but he said that even a year later I could take them back and exchange them. I am soon to be visiting Istanbul and looking forward to seeing what they are doing there ! I am not depriving Hermes of my custom because I would never shop there. My Hermes scarves came from charity shops, my first Birkin from a flea market (I'm told it's real) and my Contance is a 60's copy. I always laugh when I see people in magasines draping Hermes blankets over their beds when you can buy a good copy for 16 euros ! They also always seem to have a Birkin or two lying around.
This was interesting but I must point out, your belt is not a high tier replica. There is no way that belt passes as a so called "super fake" when the buckle is such an obvious call out. High level replicas exist and would never have a buckle that is that obviously fake. I have heard that these fakes can even pass the computer programs. Great video! Would you consider inspecting MSN craft bags at some point in the future? They have a channel here on UA-cam and while they make their own designs, they also make Hermes superfakes at request (they don't do the Hermes logo, so I suppose technically they would be dupes?). Depends on which factory you going , sometimes you can find 1 over 1 exact copy like authentic , just pay a little high price like 300 dollars for example. Sometimes like this example , yeah the H belt looks cool but to me it is slightly off in terms of texture so considered A- grade but great enough. As consumerism trapped many poors , I bet to use these item as it is meant to be worn , sometimes super fake can last long or may be just worn out fast, subject to personal habits. However it is wiser to find great craftmanship of item for long lasting usage.
White contrast stitching with black color on non SO nor bespoke items from Hermès is a dead giveaway that you should be able to identify the moment that light reaches your retina! Also the fonts for the Constance buckles are different between the 38mm and 32mm width and the fake one uses the 32mm font. Another easy giveaway! If the belt was saddle stitched, the belt without the buckle alone would be at least $1500!

Superfakes birkin in China could sell up to usd 2000, claiming they obtain leather from same leather supplier of H and hired ex artisan of H, the story seems feasible but still doubtful to me, wouldn’t Hermes put things like any anti competition clause to retired artisans ?
I bought my belt from Hermes, it wasn’t very durable unfortunately. What about Longchamp Le Foulonne leather? Supposedly comes from same place as Hermes leather.

Hermes has their own tanneries - and have been acquiring more. I suspect you will easily be able to get leather of the comparable or better quality for the same price (even with the best of the best grained calfskin you won't get anywhere near the price Hermes asks for) but getting the exact same leathers may be impossible. That's not a big deal if you are dealing with calfskin without an added (stamped) grain but I think you are out of luck getting an identical grain leather.

It’s a $100 fake but I see it this way. If designer is your journey it may last a couple of years. When someone buys a leather belt at Macy it costs about the same and will look nice for a couple of years.

This exact version of the "China" H Belt is sold for 25 USD on the street market (plus minus). Not 100USD, they have "double scammed" you mate ;( The serif H is Hermes classic and there are several versions on the Chinamarket out there. You Sir have picked the latest model with the 18K stamp on the side. That "premium" version sells for 25USD in any "fakeshop" in south east asia. They ask 100USD because you didnt know better. The half serif is Hermes newer Buckle design. There are aslo fakes of this design as well.
Do a video on Bosphorus Leather. They make high quality watch accessories with various leathers that vary greatly in price. I'd be curious to see if the different leathers are worth their respective prices.

I always laugh when I see people in magasines draping Hermes blankets over their beds when you can buy a good copy for 16 euros ! They also always seem to have a Birkin or two lying around.
The price of 100 dollars is 10x the cost at 10 dollars. Yet the multiplier is worse in some other brands you review like LV which was like 15x.

This was interesting but I must point out, your belt is not a high tier replica. There is no way that belt passes as a so called "super fake" when the buckle is such an obvious call out. High level replicas exist and would never have a buckle that is that obviously fake. I have heard that these fakes can even pass the computer programs. Those are the bags I'd love to see a dissection on. Thank you!

The belt comes in a variety of finishes. It is available from Hermes with different color stitching options from season to season.
Great video! Would you consider inspecting MSN craft bags at some point in the future? They have a channel here on UA-cam and while they make their own designs, they also make Hermes superfakes at request (they don't do the Hermes logo, so I suppose technically they would be dupes?). I'm curious about the quality and materials of those Hermes replicas, as they look pretty good on video.

Depends on which factory you going , sometimes you can find 1 over 1 exact copy like authentic , just pay a little high price like 300 dollars for example. Sometimes like this example , yeah the H belt looks cool but to me it is slightly off in terms of texture so considered A- grade but great enough. As consumerism trapped many poors , I bet to use these item as it is meant to be worn , sometimes super fake can last long or may be just worn out fast, subject to personal habits. However it is wiser to find great craftmanship of item for long lasting usage.

White contrast stitching with black color on non SO nor bespoke items from Hermès is a dead giveaway that you should be able to identify the moment that light reaches your retina!
Also the fonts for the Constance buckles are different between the 38mm and 32mm width and the fake one uses the 32mm font. Another easy giveaway!
If the belt was saddle stitched, the belt without the buckle alone would be at least $1500!

Superfakes birkin in China could sell up to usd 2000, claiming they obtain leather from same leather supplier of H and hired ex artisan of H, the story seems feasible but still doubtful to me, wouldn’t Hermes put things like any anti competition clause to retired artisans ?

I bought my belt from Hermes, it wasn’t very durable unfortunately. What about Longchamp Le Foulonne leather? Supposedly comes from same place as Hermes leather.

Hermes has their own tanneries - and have been acquiring more. I suspect you will easily be able to get leather of the comparable or better quality for the same price (even with the best of the best grained calfskin you won't get anywhere near the price Hermes asks for) but getting the exact same leathers may be impossible.
That's not a big deal if you are dealing with calfskin without an added (stamped) grain but I think you are out of luck getting an identical grain leather.

May I add, if your company can look into using USPS for international orders rather than fedex. Fedex and UPS charge too much for their own brokerage service fees, USPS uses the destinarion countries own postal service and they only charge actual customs fees. Some people will not buy if you ship using fedex. Your products are so good!

This exact version of the "China" H Belt is sold for 25 USD on the street market (plus minus). Not 100USD, they have "double scammed" you mate ;(
The serif H is Hermes classic and there are several versions on the Chinamarket out there. You Sir have picked the latest model with the 18K stamp on the side. That "premium" version sells for 25USD in any "fakeshop" in south east asia. They ask 100USD because you didnt know better.
The half serif is Hermes newer Buckle design. There are aslo fakes of this design as well.
