I but vintage, the quality was wonderful. I use my vintage bags and enjoy them. I only buy what I use and love. Would not buy any of the lacking new ones. Waste of money.
Mmhhh LV canvas is renowned for its durability. LV is originally a trunk manufacturer and they started using a special combination of canvas at the end of 19th century to differentiate the brand from its competitors and make their products hyper resistant to wear and tear. LV to my knowledge brags about their canvas and not their leather. It would have been more interesting to take one of their leather bag (because this one is clearly sold as canvas) or even better do that exercise with Hermes which is selling it self as the ultimate luxury brand in term of leather bags
As the PVC coated LV canvas gets older and wears out, it begins to crack along the edges and any points that experience a lot of bending, folding and flexing. The Monogram canvas is shit.
@@katemiller7874 You're correct. Older and vintage LV canvas pieces can and will still hold up to their namesake. Newer pieces, however, are lacking in both quality and craftsmanship. LV has become the fast fashion of luxury brands.
Been trying to learn leathercraft as a hobby and possibly part time second job for like a few months or so now. Watched 3 of your dissect videos. First was a "short one" without much explaination of why you do things, thought "this guy is a maniac, he destroys stuff, just cuts it, burns it, etc.", then I clicked on your profile, watched pink puff bag and realized how there is a purpose in it. And now I realized how much more I learned just by watching those 3 videos. Custom makers on youtube that "teach stuff" don't mention things you do. They are in their own "makers world" while your video seems to have deep insight on actual production side companies use. Now gotta go watch some more and expand my horizons even further. Thanks a lot for your work.
I am so glad I found your page…SO GLAD! After watching ALL your videos, it was really eye opening and it clicked in me exactly what is going on. First thing I did was unsubscribed to all those influencers. Recieved it yesterday and not only was it a great price but it is so beautiful and it feels great to the touch. I expect it to last a very long time, and not become trash in a couple years like my old one.
Oh i want that briefcase baaddd. I have quite a few LV bags. My favorite is a huge 3 compartment zip travel bag/ suitcase. But i love his creation when he reinvents that LV with some real leather. I knew mine were canvas before buying them.

Would love to see you deconstruct a Top Grade Replica of those luxury bags to see whats all the hype about. Lots of my friends have those mirror copy and was really curious as they’re claiming its the same materials and all..
I just can't help but think that Tanner is a genuine full grain leather Whisperer. I remember in 1985, I asked my niece Laurie what she would like me to get her for Christmas. And she told me a leather strap from the Louis Vuitton store. I asked her, what do you mean leather strap why don't I just buy you the whole purse that comes with the strap? She said well I only need a new strap. I don't know why I can still remember going into the store and asking to purchase a specific length of a strap and standing at the checkout counter like it was just last year. When the guy rang up the total amount he told me my total was $150. I was absolutely flabbergasted as I was expecting a strap to be no more than $30. So I had to go walk an extra 45 minutes to the other side of the mall at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa California to get to the ATM machine take out more money. To think that I could get a 100% full-grain top-grain leather double strapped unlined purse for less than $50 at a store called Marshalls which I still use to this day just blows my mind! So about three years later my niece was laying out by the pool at my condominium in Irvine she asked me to grab something out of her purse before I come out with the appetizers. So when I was standing next to her laying on the chair I asked her why she wasn't using the strap I bought her for that particular bucket bag. She said oh that is the new strap that you bought me but it definitely wasn't leather because the one Giancarlo bought me in Italy smelled different and it felt much thicker and it lasted much longer and we were walking all over Hungary and Italy everyday. So what I have learned over the last 55 years is that leather is just one solid piece and if you see something between the leather it is obviously not actual leather. I have leather belts where it is just one solid piece and then faux leather which clearly when you bend it it breaks the cardboard in between it.
Wait, so the strap on her bucket bag *was* the one you bought 3 years ago but it had broken down? So they sold you fake leather and cardboard for $150?
As mentioned previously highly doubtful any part of that purse strap is leather since you can see fabric between the 2 vinyl pieces. So there is this spray that you can buy at any store and it's called leather smell. A couple times I sprayed it in my car and my passengers asked me if I just had my seats polished. You can even spray your shoes with new leather smell.
I just discovered your channel and I absolutely love what you are doing! I love the designs of LV - BUT after this I am not happy with their price points for mediocre materials and would much rather look for similar styles in high quality leather that will last a lifetime! Thank you for all you do!! Have you ever done a video on Celine Sangle Seau or Everlane Studio Bag? Those are the two I have been comparing and I'm so curious about your thoughts!
Tha k you for educating the society . Dont buy with emotions , buy with logic. People pay the brand to fool them with ads on the next collection 😜. The leather bag will last you for decades
I knew they sucked. 7 months with a “small leather goods” product put me off of the brand so bad, I’ll never even consider buying any LV bag in the future and I’d return it right away if I ever was gifted one and spend the money on a better brand that sells soft beautiful leather that has that smell 😌
Wow 🤩 the end real leather bag 😍 beautiful wow Thank you so much for educating us about it It’s soo beautiful I would want to buy the bag you did 🤎🧡 the details the colors And the inside i lke it light and so worth the money 😊 Oh God bless you, you’re doing amazing job Soon I will love to buy bags from you if I find something I like maybe next year

Same here. I've never been into brands. But I do love quality and decadent looking pieces like that.

Keep upp the good work! May God bless you!
Amazing video. Very entertaining and informative. I liked. I subscribed. Thank you ❤
I would love to see you review/ inspect an Hermes Bastia Purse. It is made only from a piece of leather
I wouldn't even buy the LV one for 170 usd. I might pay 85 usd if i'm generous. Your final bag is stunning.
Tha k you for educating the society . Dont buy with emotions , buy with logic. People pay the brand to fool them with ads on the next collection 😜. The leather bag will last you for decades
Thank you for this video ❤
Wow did you turn that into a beautiful leather bag!
I've never understood the appeal to the Louis Vuitton bags. Your bag turned out beautiful.
Gorgeous 😍
Where can I buy the bag you made 😅?
What a great video thanks so much
I knew they sucked.
7 months with a “small leather goods” product put me off of the brand so bad, I’ll never even consider buying any LV bag in the future and I’d return it right away if I ever was gifted one and spend the money on a better brand that sells soft beautiful leather that has that smell 😌
I would buy that frankstein bag
Wow..this guy should sell his own brand ❤❤❤
May I please have the Frankenstein briefcase sir, it looks awesome?
This is beautiful! Would love to see what you thought of their new embossed leather products!
I just love watching your videos
I would love to see a video review of a JW Hulme bag.
Also, is there a website to buy a bag?
🤯🤯🤯🤯😍😍😍😍this has been eye opening. ❤❤
You are so talented! Amazing eye for detail!
Wow 🤩 the end real leather bag 😍 beautiful wow
Thank you so much for educating us about it

Oh God bless you, you’re doing amazing job
Soon I will love to buy bags from you if I find something I like maybe next year
Very interesting 🤔. Well done . Thanks 😊
Really Nice Work, btw could you tell me what is the inner lining material? Thanks, appreciate it
