@@bjwal6 i testdrove the MK8. For me interiuer does not matter that much. I also testdrove the MK7 ST200. Both on racetracks, both great cars. But in my opinion the MK7 is a bit more funny. But the MK8 is also awesome!
How it is compared with 208 gti by PS or corsa vxr pp?
I work for Ford and initially when we were called in for a meeting to first see the new shapes I was like mehh. Then when I finally got my hands on one (we get them gfot company cars) they are brilliant. Yes the back end needs to be a bit more aggressive but honestly the new shapes are brilliant. Higher build quality, the interior is spot on, voice control, apple car play, sat nav and a touch screen multi media system. The seating position is spot on. The suspension is not as firm. Ford have build the new gen for more mature people so they’re a lot more practical. With the LEDs and styling pack it looks👌🏻 AND it’s so much cheaper than a Polo GTI

Ghulam Afzal the one thing missing are the half leather seats on the ST2 like the old model, shame they are only offer them on the ST3 trim.

Fun on the road is where I'm at now. It was great owning the super-saloons and coupes but I've now bought an Up GTi and having a blast on B roads now. These cars excite me more than supercars.

This Fiesta ST is *a lot* of fun.
I have it myself and my parents a 911 996 Carrera 4s. The fiesta with the diff held pretty good in slow & fast corners. As soon as you hit full throttle on the apex it just pushes you in and absolutely 0 understeering. Really happy, 11/10 car, would buy the mk9

Great video sid, one thing I’ve learnt from nearly a year of focus RS ownership is that power isn’t everything, I miss my old ST and will be defo looking at the new one

Good video Sid you rounded that up real well, personally I think the front end looks smart, but the previous gen had a much more appealing rear end, but the exhaust sounds like it has more character from stock, overall I think Ford did a good job again

Nice review - first one I've seen of yours Sid. I have been waiting for a decent video review since they announced it came out. Yours is the first that I like. I wanted to buy the old ST but just missed it so I've been waiting a year for the new one to come out. Relieved to hear it is as good/better 'cos I already ordered it!. Honestly, for me the important thing was the speed/handling but also the interior for music/google maps on the iPhone, which the old one didn't have but which in day to day life is really important. I ordered the LSD and white so I am looking forward to driving down to the South of France too..... c u there!

Very good early review Sid! For what it's worth, you've gained a Portuguese subscriber mate. I'm seriously considering buying one of these which is a bit more of a challenge here, since they start at 28 grand (euros). Can't get my head around how cheaply these are priced at 19k in the UK. The engine and drive looks amazing. But the shape of the back end. What have they done to it? It looks more like a Honda jazz than a fiesta.

Great review Mate, Ford teased us about six months ago saying there were bringing the 3 door hatch & the 5 door but just decided to discontinue all of its Car line here in the USA, Pickups, SUV’s, & Crossovers, that Sucks, I have the 2014 ST with 52,000+ Miles and have loved every minute of it, has Visual and performance mods, it’s bad Ass, I just wanted to get the new one because of all the new amenities, especially the infotainment system & seats, it blows my Mind that Ford is an American founded company and Europe gets all the Cars they make and we get 💩💩, keep us posted on the accessories, i’d like to see what I’m missing. 😢

Great video. Best new Fiesta ST video I've seen as you've focused more against the old ST and what people day to day will get from the car whether they push it hard or just cruise.
Now I just have to justify the price as a well specced one is a fair amount for a fiesta in my opinion although by the sounds of it it is probably worth it !

Thanks for replying. I had a Fiesta ST for 4 years in spirit blue and still miss it even since moving onto a Golf R (content on that on my channel). I think if I was to change the R it would only be for a 2016 5 Door Mk7.5 Fiesta as for a 2 year old car it would have reduced quite a lot in price with the new Mk8 coming out and the small facelift revisions in 2016 improved the ride quality a bit as well as reducing the gear ratios. Potentially down the line then moving onto a Mk8 Fiesta ST after the hype has passed :-)Do you think you will replace your ST for a Mk8?

Sideways Sid we should. The fiesta was just released in SA this week. So we can expect it probably end of 2018 there abouts. Sweet driving by the way.
Looks like a B-Max at the rear, so not a huge fan of the styling. 1 less cylinder and a smaller capacity which is actually bad because the fiesta st community love to modify their cars and I doubt you'll see 300+ bhp from these. I imagine tuning options will be a bit more limited
JustTahmid True. But this 3 cylinder is way more interesting. Plus I find these perfect out of the box. 👌🏽
it doesn’t need more than 200bhp
If you take a look at what some tunners were getting from a 1.0 ecoboost 3 cylinder engine, then my guess is you'll get tunners getting 300bhp from this displacement. Though I do agree it will be limited for now, untill they develop better understanding for tuning capacity in terms of what can be done with a 3 cylinder turbo charged engine.

If Carlsberg did car reviews! 👍 Only thing I’d add personally is the Polo GTI is the closest contender to the ST, it has the same 0-60 & has a better interior, however it doesn’t sound as good and bogs down when you throttle it.

Great quality video and review! I disagree with your dismissal of the Abarth but the American spec car is slightly different and much cheaper than what you guys get. No fiesta or focus ST for us on this side of the pond anymore.

Great review there but I'm surprised you didn't mention the rear springs. We're calling dibs on them as patented industry's first. They're really the enablers for long journey comfort without sacrificing cornering performance. A comfy hooligan, if you will :)

I live in a country where the vaunted Ford hot hatches are not available, so reviews like this make me sort of live the experience by proxy even though I end up green with envy. Well done! I do have a next closest thing: a Fiesta 1.0 ecoboost with lowered sports suspension, (and ST bodykit) which is quite playful and entertaining especially compared to the boring many (read: japanese cars). However I do agree with you and other mk7/7.5 fans/owners that the new rear end look too pedestrian. I also prefer the wheels, side skirt, spoiler and rear diffuser of the old ST to this new one.

Sadly the day is not coming with Ford shutting down small car sales in North America and other markets where their pickups, SUVs and crossovers outsell their small cars like here. We may never even see these next generation Fiesta and Foci. Therefore, the only performance Ford to look forward to is the Mustang (uh review pls?) ... though Im not fond of cars with long bonnets, having had a Nissan Silvia before. Not ideal for tight urban maneuvers and nosing out other cars in traffic gridlock melee. Of course there is the Golf GTI (but a generation late), or used Peugeot 208 GTI

The only thing I'd want on my mk7 st is lower seats, sometimes it does feel like an awkward position so that's a good thing on this mk8.
But overall I'm happy with my mk7 and won't be upgrading to this. I like the lower wider stance and interior is nice.
I'd rather keep mk7 also knowing that it can be modded reliably to very high power, that cylinder deactivation puts me off this new one.
I also like how the styling doesn't make the old one feel outdated with similar side profile and front end.
Overall it definitely looks all good but for me it's not enough different from old one but it's great for people new to the fiesta ST.
I'll keep my mk7 another 5 years or so and maybe just add mods

Very well rounded and thorough review Sid! As you say Ford are going to shift a boat load of these. Still unsure on the engine.....not the 3 cylinder but the cylinder deactivation down to 2. Seems over complicated. Looking forward to testing one of these. 👍🏼

What I don't like about the new Polo GTI/Clio RS models is the fact that they are(for now at least) automatic only. I don't want a car like that to be automatic

INCREDIBLE!... best new Fiesta ST review ive seen so far! so glad that its as fun to drive as the previous one! tbh the softer bushings in the new one is just going to allow it to ride along our bumpy B roads even better without loosing composure. And oh btw, in ur drifting clip at the last 11:05, the inside rear wheels locked up nicely but the outer rear wheel was still spining, is that normal, or does the hand brake not lock up both rear tires equally???

It's just because the weight is transferred to the outside wheel and therefore more rotational force (not sure if that's the 'correct' term) is applied to the outside causing it to overcome the braking force.
