MATCHBOX Restoration No 46b Pickfords Removal Van 1960
Вставка
- Опубліковано 19 кві 2019
- This is the second Pickfords removal van that I have done. No drilling on this one as the base is held on in a different manner. This van was close to being thrown out by it's previous owner. Luckily they gave it to me and I got it up to scratch. This model will now be around for another 50 years!

This dude is a never ending source of entertainment. Especially the humor.
That brought back memories of my childhood when I had little fleet of those Guy lorries,(all of mine was blue) my late father got me them because he actually worked for Pickfords driving those same lorries for real in the early 60s
@@CheekyTime Small world Vaughn, yep may they RIP.
Love the Pickfords Lorry .......My Dad worked for them in the 50's before i was born ....so this reminds me of him........seen all the videos.......love what you do .......and i have many of the matchbox cars etc that you have done......
I wasn't flashing my willy, I was shoplifting sausages! LOL!
That's why I watch!
*Pecker*
@Kirk More Most definitely.
Hold up
When he removed the inflatable doll he gave almost a classic Hitchcock look at the camera and didn't say a word. It's up to you to provide the backstory. That was great. Love your work from San Diego, Ca.
It was more like an Oliver Hardy's "camera look".
I'm surprised nobody mentioned the box of merkins
@@kevinvawser8003 he sent the merkins to the whitehouse
Wow ! A disappearing dog at the end ! Another great restoration
I love this green screen effect you working with Marty. Very entertaining. Great video. Thumbs up 191.
What green screen? That was all real buddy!
Is that Kevin's doll he pulled out of the van?
Aha the real-life scale view was amazing!!!!!
Marty is either the most wholesome person on UA-cam, or a serial killer that keeps a restored Matchbox as a trophy for each of his kills. Either way, his videos are great.
Another great makeover .....maybe not the most exciting model but definitely deserves to be restored
Wow, models came with a lot of interesting accessories back in the 60's.
And modelers too, presumably.
You have outdone yourself once again on that intro. Thanks for blurring out the blow up person, I just finished my breakfast!
I love your restoration work. Still working on decaling my brown Budgie Pickfords van . Your once piece decal was easy to put on compared to "BEST moving & storage" decal
I must do every single letter! On both sides no less.😣 You're the best!👍👍
Marty holy crap are you funny! I just love your sense of humor. And you are great at restoring the cars too! Thank you for taking the time to entertain us!!! It is much appreciated!
I was gobsmacked when you reached into the back of the truck. Well done great effects, when you are finished with the doll, send it back.
I’m glad Tyla is returning, whoever she is.
Lovely model. I had one of these. A simple model, yes, but much-loved. You're right about that silver pen obscuring the details. You're living and learning. Great!
Always a pleasure. The most relaxing videos on UA-cam!
You are by far my favorite UA-camr, these intros are the best.
HAPPY EASTER MARTY AND HAPPY EASTER COMMENT SECTION HAVE A AWESOME WEEKEND...
Happy Easter to You, too!
Same to you bud
Those vans look fantastic! One would have never guessed by the contents that the green one could ever be redeemed. 😗
Thanks Cathy, they turned out not too bad, thanks for commenting.
You are THE BEST!!!
From Italy! 🔝✌
I have one of these Pickfords vans someplace in my basement. Always been one of my favorites. And the roller door still works. 😀
In Poland, you also have loyal fans. Guy removal truck from Matchbox was my favorite toy when I was 7. Thank you, Happy Easter
Thanks for contributing from Poland! - Awesome!!
Another fine restoration Marty - well done. A wee suggestion I've seen used online :- if you squeeze a little paint out of the chrome/silver pen, into a shot glass, you can apply it with a small paintbrush. It will give you more control over the thickness/flow rate of the paint.
Hope it helps.
All the best,
Dougie.
Agreed...that is the best way to apply the chrome. I only use it to touch up plastic parts that had a chrome finish...for die cast I prefer to use Tamiya silver. Chrome has it's place but only on certain models.
I use these these Molotow? chrome pens. They are great for refreshing the chrome hubs on Matchbox superfast wheels. Really brings scratched wheels back to life.
that is impressive work. I am glad to see you save a piece of history.
I have too say, watching you take what looks like a piece of trash and turn it into a real piece of art is amazing. Cheers
🇩🇪 My little brother Dustin and I had about 50% SIKU cars, 40% MATCHBOX / LESNEY cars and about 10% other manufacturers. Including MAJORETTE. It's so nice to see these videos and even inspiring. Some models were or were better still from our father. One day I will start restoring. I am 38 and i am working as a car mechanic with the main field of motorcycles. But that will my job in a future...
OOEEEE, one of Kevin's plastic toys, no worry's .....Yep, Marty at every reveal, a smile you put on my face... thanks ...
The newspaper headlines in your spray booth are always hilarious
You had fun with Matchbox as a kid and still having fun with them. Proves you are never to old to enjoy diecast cars
Always having fun with the matchbox cars.
Once again you have taken a piece of junk and restored it. Good job. I enjoy watching your restorations. I had a childhood friend whose father would buy him matchbox vehicles when he was on business trips.
Hi Marty, What more can you say but fantastic , keep it up , All the Best Brian 🤗
Thanks Brian.
Great Restore, Marty! The Sun is never short on silly headlines!
It’s amazing what you can find in a Pickfords van....
Pickford Removal Van, great job, I was surprised to see that there was no wind screen or interior details with this model. Great work.
This is great , the way you make these trucks and vans look live size .😋😋😋😋😋
I love your videos, especially the newspaper headlines in the paint booth.
Always love the last couple of bloopers and the tips on restos im tempted to have a go myself looks like a lot of fun
These intro skits with green screen, are getting better and better! brilliant work!
I never thought watching someone bringing matchbox cars back to life could be so entertaining. Thank you Marty.
Wonderful, as always! Your wife is lovely.
The inflate a date was hilarious, love the tabloid headlines, supermarket perv, missing link found in Glasgow mall, so funny. But seriously, you should consider writing a book about how to do this, peppered with the humor too.
I have watched quite a few episodes of your show the last couple of months, but the newspaper part is always by far the best! Great humor!
Hahaha.. that was a beauty Marty. The passengers sitting near me in the train are wondering why I keep chuckling as I watch this. Great work. Keep them coming
LOL. I love the humour you put in your videos Marty
We still have Pickfords over here in the Uk!
Nice to see the old type of truck and I'm now going to look out for one to do myself.
I have always had a laugh at the news papers in your spray booth ! great videos Marty
Magical Matchbox Makeovers!
Makes my day!
Greetings from Greece. As always a perfect restoration.
Great job Mary Pickford would be proud
BA-DA-BA-DOOOMP *TSHHH*
That came up beautifully.
Love your wacky humour. Top class restoration.
Marty, you are the best!
Model on, friend!
Jajaja...las restauraciones, como siempre, son increíbles...pero los vídeos cada vez son mejores...un 10 para tí, Marty
I think one of the things I like best about you is your willingness to try suggestions made by other people even if they don't work. I think there is a lesson in that somewhere for me. Thanx.
Looks good!
Bravo on a job well done, as usual. Marty, you're such a card. Don't ever change.

Another excellent restoration, well done.
It just keeps getting better. Great video.
Well done that's a lovely restoration.
Marty you never stop amazing me with your awsome restorations and sense of humor. Keep sharing because I'm always looking foward to what you'll come up with next. Thank you and God bless, from the Southern tip of Texas
Another awesome resto Marty, I've been lucky enough to have found 8 of these and will be restoring all the variations, just hope I can do them justice. You have raised the bar to a great Height HaHa. ' Top Job Fella' still my preferred resto channel, even with all the new competition
DAMN MARTY...Bloody Spot On Again with you Mate!
Always fun and relaxing.
I like watching you restore the tiny cars and vans. The newspaper on your work bench makes me smile!
Excellent episode! I have that model myself, near mint... got it new about 52 years ago.
"ASSORTED MERKINS" LMAO! That, along with the shoplifting sausages. Nice job on the van & the videos.
Yet another great resto mate ,,,,,,,, GUY motors of Wolverhampton England got swallowed up in the great bmc jaguar triumph ..ETC leyland merger and shut down around 1981 they made some good trucks buses and trolley-buses and some military vehicles in the war
Top notch job sir and thank you again!
Great job Marty. Thanks.
Well done Marty love to watching 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Another fan from Bulgaria! We look and look forward to the next restoration.
Miroslav,,, In early 80s one of the first English and Bulgarian companies was called BKC Impex in London,I worked there,,assembling and selling Balkankarimpex Forklifts,,loved the food, wine and great colleagues,,,glad you like Matchbox too,,,there were some rare ones made in Bulgaria,,have as super Easter weekend,,
THANK YOU...for sharing.
Another great video Marty! Especially liked where you made it look like you were pulling boxes out of the van.
Another phenomenal job. Looks really great, you have a great talent.
Marty you continue to amaze had a laugh when you pulled out them boxes from the back of the van. Yet another martys marvellous makeovers always a total joy to watch. Regards from pom land 😊
Hi Marty, bloody fantastic job and it does look factory fresh, keep up the great work.
I think you should make your own decal sticker and put it on every car you restore.
Wow, that came out amazing.
Enjoyed that one my friend
Thank you
Awesome video
Marty, your sense of whimsey in the beginning of this vid is GREAT ! I can only hope that Koala Kevin appreciates it as much as I do !
Another great job! My suggestion with the chrome pen is to push it down until it blots out, then push it/brush it around lightly. It'll keep it from getting too thick.
Fantastic resto Marty as always, and bloody funny as well
That opening scene was a pisser! Brilliant work!
Excellent work. Looks factory fresh.
Hi Marty, I absolutely love how you brought out the detail of the moving van after the primer coat. I have the exact model, with very little blemishes, and I didn't realize any of those markings, foot strut, etc. Thanks for giving me my memory back!
Not busting your balls Marty..but your right. The silver paint filled in the details of the grill. You are the king of restoration in my book. Your attention to detail is commendable. Great video. Your fan from Massachusetts😁👍
Another fine job, really top shelf. Very enjoyable video, always fun to watch.
It great how you superimpose yourself in these videos next to these projects your going to work on.
Another reason why Saturday is my favourite day of the week. Thank you Marty, can't wait for the next one!
I love the CGI intro where you blow up the van to make it lifesize. It’s such a unique idea and it works so well. Brings back nostalgia of me looking at my old cars and wondering if i could drive them if i shrunk myself.
Very good, Marty!
I'm from Brazil! I love watching your channel.
Thank you Alex, from Australia to Brazil!
Well done as always
Marty your videos are the best. Informative and funny as well. Van looks great. Keep up the good work and thanks.
20 minutes of bliss Marty keep ‘em coming 👍
Another great makeover. love the new format.Who on earth gave you a thumbs down? must be the opposition.
The people who lost their box of merkins
Congratulations Marty!
Marty, Greetings from Bulgaria!!! I love your way to do this restoration videos - more like funny series with alot more from restoration only!!! Keep it that way!!!
Thanks mate, great to hear from a viewer from Bulgaria.
