I'm in the design field and establishing garment design as legally defendable intellectual property is insanely difficult. The silhette of a boot is not like a logo or a trademarked name and in the history of clothing design it is almost certain that someone at some time previously created a garment very similar as yours. Unless the attempt to deceive consumers with a counterfeit can be established, companies and design houses just steal ideas from each other all the time with no consequence.
The inner city origin of timbs making the mainstream jump is the same as Carhart. Drug dealers in nothern cities like Chicago and NYC love having a durable warm coat with a lot of pockets lol. Started in Chicago first, probably due to the proximity to farming communities in the midwest that have always loved the brand.
I do too. I've got some helly hansen and Patagonia jackets. But I'll usually wear my comfy, warm, easy to layer over whatever, with easy to access and use pockets ugly jacket.

Hey Rose Anvil; I am a professional that works in a variety of environments outdoors, and have been finding these videos to be really fun, informative, and interesting to watch. I especially appreciate the discussions on the history of different styles and companies. One thing though I haven’t seen yet is a video covering some of the big names regarding Mountaineering boots. Would be super interesting to see a breakdown of the La Sportiva Nepal , since it’s such a legendary and iconic boot in the climbing community. Another consideration is the fact that the companies that make this form of boot (Scarpa, La Sportiva, etc) make footwear that the users life depends on. These boots have to be extremely durable, contend with extreme environments, sharp implements, be study enough to bear the Climber’s load on crampons, and manage moisture well. Plus, in my own research, finding information on the specific construction of these boots can be tricky, and I am deeply curious how this piece of equipment is designed and built. Yeah they make a ton of types of Timber Pros (work boot) branch of them. I buy a composite/leather boot that is also electrically insulated solid toes with shank but the things weigh as much as hiking shoes
i got this pretty nice leather wallet from Element Skateboards. is a little big for even a dad wallet, and is a fairly standard fold with 3 cards on the left, change on the right, stash pockets, and 2 cash areas. ALTHOUGH, it came with a mini 3 card on left, window sleeve on right, and one cash pocket fold wallet that inserts into the stash area under the change pocket. looks like a regular middle flap, but pulls out and is like the cop badge wallet thing lol... not bad leather either.
That puncture test was pretty surprising. I don't know what to have expected, but I don't like that for a boot that looks like I would be able to rely on it.
I just realised ive had my timbs for 3 years theyre a bit dirty but perfectly worn in It all started when i worked as a paper delivery guy in the winter and got stuck in a ditch and lost my soles on some cheap 30$ boots I bought a pair of timbs in pure frustration and have never looked back since that Ill probably get the pro version next time, as i find myself in more construction, industrial or landscaping work nowadays
I was thinking the same thing, but not in the UK setting. Like super off brand, super cheap, embarassed to even be seen there let alone wear something from there kind of store. Shoes from a place like that. Here in the US there was a show store like that called payless, and these remind me of that place.

My Timbs have a fabric liner along the heal instead of leather. I have the gray pair but I saw a video from 4 years ago where that color still had the leather. Weird .-.

Timberland isn't the only brand to make that style boot its a really old tride and true Design just the most popular brand making them is timberland when other companies they undermine make the same boot in way higher quality.
It's an art boot manufactured in a limited run. It's not exactly something the average proletarian is going to buy. White collar, salaried proletarians might, and I expect the semi-proletariat, petite bourgeoisie, and bourgeoisie will buy them. But selling a piece of art isn't a successful way to expropriate the proletariat, especially compared to the expropriation inherent to the definition of the proletariat viz. their participation in wage labour. To get a good Doc, you have to go to a company that used to make their boots for them and the only one left is NPS with their Solovair and Gripfast brands.
