Hi I am a housewife and I live in Guadalajara México ( city of tequila) I find your videos so relaxing, my English is not so good but I understand every word ( most of them) you said. 🤗
Thing is you don't know what you will get back at some random cobbler, you might regret it and should have just bought a new pair. This guy does his advertising on youtube, shows his quality of work and knowledge.
@@And-zo8jn I would get quality boots repaired every single time over new replacements. Boots that are worn in fit you like a glove, and have a beautiful patina. New boots/shoes take years to properly break in and become "yours". Plus, why replace them anyway when they can be serviced and last many more years!
This guy is younger than those boots. But still he is the one who makes this profession as art, and make it sure to survive for decades. (I don't know how the hell I got to this channel, but I sacrificed 4 hours to this artist.) Keep on, man!
I got here looking for ways to clean stains out of nubuck. I ended up watching this whole video. This process is fascinating. I really appreciate the detail you put in here. I've learned something new today.
I need a cobbler of this man's incredible skill to repair my comfy worn in nubuck timbs. I've got three pairs that the outsole has detached at the toe. My timbs cost me 120 US twenty years ago, I'd pay that amount again to get them restored because as anybody familiar with work boots knows, once they're broken in you've got some happy feet.
Thanks for including the price of £160 for a full restoration. Cobbler concierge glued a thin elvis sole on my worn out timberlands for US$120. It fell off within an hour and cobbler concierge blocked my calls, I was out $120 plus possible shipping from Hawaii back to New York City. Their long turnaround timeframe prevented me from getting a credit card charge back. Swindled
Dude I just found this channel and subscribed like 2 days ago.... your videos are really realy ace man. I've been trying to be more like my grandfather where when I buy something I take care of it so it lasts forever and your work is just unbelievable and reminds me of him and his generation so much.
The environment thanks you. There really is a lot that can be done if we just live more conscious. Repair, maintain and think about what we really need and what just takes space and gets thrown away later.
Simply amazing pal 🖐️ ,iv had mine for 21 years so not as old but I love em ,my wife's been trying to make me throw them away for years but I just can't and after seeing this I'm certainly not going to,true craftsmanship right there 🖐️
Same lol. I have some that are 20 years old. Got them when I started working at timberland when I was 15. First shoes I got from them. Now I need to restore them. Too good to throw out.
Love your channel. Timberlands are my favourite footwear, I still live in the 90's in my head. Many times iv wanted old boots repaired but the prices quoted where similar to buying a new pair. Unless they're sentimental it's not worth it. These boots cost £150 to buy and would have been £50 in the early 90's. That guy loved them boots.
Hi , greetings from India mate, I visited Tring during my UK holiday 10 years ago. Lovely lovely town. I had few drinks at the Robin Hood pub. Enjoyed ur videos, keep rocking champ, cheers
Dan...you are good...! Really good at what you do! That 30yrs old Timberland shoes looks great and the owner should be delighted about it! Job well done!
That was a pleasure to watch. I have some Doc Martin work boots that are around forty years old and had a resole about fifteen years ago. I did once get a cheap pair of work boots and they lasted about three weeks before the polyurethane soles fell apart. I got my money back
I've just watched this video (10 months late) and I have to say, quite frankly, that was amazing. I'm a military boot nut, owning about fifteen pairs, including Haix, Altberg, Meindl, Iturri etc etc. If any of them ever need attention, I now know exactly who to contact. Just subscribed to the channel as well, so it won't take ten months to see content lol. Brilliant.
My mum bought me a pair about 9yrs ago and passed away sadly. The soles have just started peeling off. Glad to know they can be restored. As they are a bit sentimental.
I fear the worst for this lovely pair of timberlands - you forgot to say "let's get sticky" when you glued up and put on the vibrams!! 😆 Great job yet again!
Good as new. I miss having a cobblers here in the US. We’ve become a throw away society. The price you charge is well worth it for a favorite pair of shoes or boots.
They look good as new. Actually better since the leather will be way more comfortable. I usually just throw out my work boots and get new red wings every couple of years, but the upgrades you added in make me think it is a better value to have them redone by you.
Thanks for the pricing at the end, seems like not a bad price considering the work and materials. My 20 yr old black timberlands are still in good shape, but it's nice to know this is possible.
Almost died when when gluing the new soles on and the "let's get sticky" music didn't come on, however the new "1980's action hero prepping for the final fight by loading his weapons and applying camo paint" montage music was ace!
I’ve actually thought about coming to England and having you resole and heel my patent leather Ferragamo concert shoes for me. You’re very enticing and an expert.
Always had Timberland shoes, moccasins with lug soles or their deck shoes. They wore like iron. Unfortunately they quit making those models which was a shame. Good work revitalizing those hi-tops.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say apron continuity is not critical. Great video man, as usual. Keep it up and thank you! Edit: Holy wow these look stunning!
Respectable shoemaker I'm stonished by your magnificent work even being you a very young one person, such kind of handcraft require a long time experience.
Even though the sole isn't stitched on I figure if it comes loose I can re-glue it. The Vibrum sole that's stitched has the recessed from the edge lugs that I don't care for Good Job again!

Thing is you don't know what you will get back at some random cobbler, you might regret it and should have just bought a new pair. This guy does his advertising on youtube, shows his quality of work and knowledge.
Also it would cost as much as a new pair almost. So that the reason why people mostly do full repairs on quality boots and not cheap ones
Any good cobbler will be able to upgrade your shoe better than factory, so it's a no-brainer. And you can customize sole colors, types, etc.

Cobblering is becoming a lost art and I love watching you bring UGLY shoes back to life. Those super detailed soles you put on are amazing. 👍🏼
2:03 saying freeze and holding a heat gun. Epic!
Always nice to watch a craftsman restoring what once was.
Good lessons for all to learn from. Thnx Dan!

Good job, they look incredible. Should be the firm basis of another 30 years use.
They haven't been used for 30 years. Obviously they laid around in some corner for 25 years.
@@benitofranklyn4237 maybe almost 29 year and half... 😂😂
That moment you find out they were fake after 30 years and a restoration.
That's more that a restoration; that's a total upgrade! Beautiful work!

Hard to believe they are 30 years old.
My work boots look like that after 3 days lol.
