From the best as I can understand it. Literally the song is about taking care of his mother. And we promises he will. And the video symbolizes how at the same time they want to be with their family taking care of them a part of them always has to be on the road and touring. So they are kind of ripped apart being pulled in two directions.
He played a piece of this in their concert last night, so cool and what a great mom he must have😊👍
@@ReactionTherapyOfficial you finally saw them? Did you get Trees confetti?
2 points: First, the key lyric is “She asked me, ‘Son, when I grow old…’”-it’s for his mom. And the second isn’t as easy-Tyler has explained that he and Josh always feel kind of split in half when they are on the road because they care so much for their families but literally aren’t there for them. I do enjoy your enthusiasm!
could it be that they have no legs to stand on while singing this song. Tyler sings about his mom while also doing different tours around the world. that's just my interpretation of the visual
Very well said, thanks for this insight😊👍
A special person in my family (won’t name) passed away due to mental health issues and committed suicide. She was so full of joy and amazing and no one saw it coming. At her funeral her daughter had this song played and it’ll always have a soft spot in my heart beautiful work of art
Thanks so much for sharing, what a sweet story about this song meaning that yo you😊🙏
It’s a song to his mother. The half bodies is the split of work and taking care of your family
His mother asked him to build a house of gold when his father dies and take care of her. While part of him wants to make his mother happy, this would kill his dreams of pursuing music. The fact that his heart is with his mom and his legs are elsewhere shows that he is truly torn between pursuing his dreams and taking care of his mother.
Ultimately, he dies when he stays with his Mom, which represents his pursuit of a music career dying.
Hey Doc, Jones here again. I’m glad you reacted to this. I lost my mother last Thursday, and well I’m having a hard go at it. But somehow watching you helps me understand my feelings to a degree. Keep up all the great things you’re doing. Thank you.
I hope you’re doing good ❤️
Sorry for your loss, stay strong ✌
Thank you Jones! Appreciate you and the sharing. Praying for you and grateful you would take the time to watch😊🙏
I literally played this on repeat when I was like 7. It used to be my absolute favorite song in the world. I would sing along all the time! 😂
I love this song so much! When they play It live Tyler usually mentions this song Is for his mother.
FUN FACT! this video was actually filmed in Will Smith's property. :)
This song isn't about God's love, its simply what it sounds like. He says "She asked me 'Son, when I grow old, will you buy me a house of gold? And when your father turns to stone, will you take care of me?" Its his mother asking him if he will care for her when she's too old to take care of herself and he responds with his love for his mother by saying "i will make you queen of everything you see" as a good son should ❤ its just a song about a son's love for his mother and I sing it to my mom whenever it comes on
Thanks Anthony!😊👍
@@ReactionTherapyOfficial no problem! Also, I believe the symbolism in the music video of both musicians missing their lower halves is that even in death, their love for their mothers will still go on just as though they were still alive, hence why they sing and play so loudly from a distance using whatever instruments are within their vicinity then fall down once the song ends
your happiness when you react to them is so contagious I love it
I love how much you enjoyed the song 💕 your reaction was EVERYTHING 💗
He’s just promising his mom that he will take care of her when she gets older.
I went and saw 21 Pilots with my mom when I was 14/15 during the Blurryface tour, now Im 22 and she is fighting a rare cancer, she got news on my birthday (September 1st) that it has progressed to stage 4 (terminal) so seeing this video is bringing my attention back to one of my happiest memories with her 💖
So sorry to hear this and thank you for sharing this….prayers😊🙏
The Song itself is about his mother, and how he will take care of her when his father is dead, but I'm honestly not sure about the mv itself lol.
I think it was a farming accident that cut them in half, judging by the machine he was next to at the beginning, wich I think had blood on it. And now they come back to look out for the woman (probably the mom) in the house when the sun is up, until it sets again. When I first watched this video it disturbed my pretty hard, to the point that I didn't really like the song because of it. Until I learned that it's a love letter to his mom. I think this is also the first song they did where he plays the Ukulele :)
Funny story. This week I have been training someone from our Houston Office. We started talking about music and he actually knows who TOP are. Then we discussed Suicide Boys. He was at the concert. Then I asked the biggest question yet... Do you ever watch Reaction Therapy. As soon as he said yes, we bonded! LOL He's 21 and I'm 51. My son who loves you is 15. Keep up the wonderful work you are doing and know that you are touching lives from all age groups. Love you guys! ❤️
This made my day lisa! I needed this today, thank you and what a cool story😊👍
@@ReactionTherapyOfficial I'm glad it made your day. I don't think you realize how many lives you touch! You guys are amazing and I can't wait for the first meet and greet!!!
Love your reactions and I'll always keep watching you guys. Just read through the comments people have already left and you'll figure out the video. It is very odd, but as you well know Twenty One Pilots is deep and they always require deep thought and an analysis of their music.
My then 15yo taught herself this song on the uke & played a few teen open mics. Parents of other teens loved the song, but were scared of the video, lol.
His reaction when he finally saw it i was cracking up waiting for it
Thank you for the posts!
Love your job! Best regards from Brazil ;)
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ One of my favorite songs and so completely different!!!
My homeboi played this once back when we were in 1st year of high school and since then it became the classroom's theme song. Mannn I miss those days.
We never really looked into the lyrics. We're just busting of lungs out singing the song
❤
I'm so excited for you getting to go to the Icey tour show
Thanks Kim! It was beyond amazing!!😊👍
As much as I love you're reactions, you've started to bop along to them without paying too much to the lyrics. Like with Guns For Hands, that quite a deep song which I was expecting to hear you talk about the lyrics a lot but all you did was just bop along to it for most of the vid
Yeah, he got lot of subscribers now, it's now about money, views, no more pure reaction.
Thanks for the comments, sometimes I don’t feel like I understand until later, so my lyric breakdown happens when I get it….and that’s why I lean on you for help and I’m so grateful for the insight.👍 keep teaching me when I can’t get it, and I do LOVE the music and rhythm 😊
@@imamleza why the hate? We make nothing on these videos and just trying to have fun and spread mental health, you should join us!👍
@@ReactionTherapyOfficial don't get me wrong, I love seeing how much you enjoy their songs (it really warms my heart seeing someone fall in love so quick) but I think something that you could try would be to listen through it as an initial reaction and then maybe go back a second time and analyse the lyrics (plus it's more watch time lol)
Edit: and as for not understanding it immediately, that's fine. Tyler has said that most of their songs are up to personal interpretatio
At the end of the day hes putting in the effort to learn the meaning. theres so much to just about every tøp song and you cant expect someone to pick up every on the first listen
Loved it, ta very much.
amazing vid per usual
Thank you!😊👍
nice vid, you should hear "no pressure" by logic (9min version)
You should do TOP - Kitchen Sink next!!!!!!!
Thanks to Will Smith for letting them use his house !
Really???😳
hey! great video. would you consider doing "young and doomed" by frank iero and the future violents. it's loaded with mental health stuff.
You should react to "Meant to be yours" from Heathers
I know Tyler is religious but I can't help love his music anyways. I used to think it was the opposite and took comfort in his understanding the deconstructing process. He actually helped me understand my daughter more (who is still religious) so I am grateful to him. They are both amazing people that make life better. 🥰
can you react to pnb rock's middle child and selfish, in memory of his death?
You should listen through their regional at best songs that weren't on this album.
Sometimes it's as easy as the lyrics make it...start by not overthinking things at first and then go deeper into other meanings. Plus feel free to pull up lyrics if you need them!!
Nice take veruca…I get nervous with TOP and get scared to take chances😳😳
@@ReactionTherapyOfficial the great thing about TOP music is that there's no wrong interpretations...Tyler writes like that so we can all enjoy the songs the way we feel them!! And the Clique doesn't judge differing opinions so no need to be nervous!!
Did you see them last night in Houston??? I wish I could have been there.
I think he is, because in the description it says "A little throwback but in honor of the TØP concert we are at tonight!!!" so yes, Yes he probably was there.
Yes!!!! We got to see them last night! Thanks for asking lisa…it was amazing and I can’t wait for the next one😊👍
I think this song is just a song about his mother and taking care of her when she’s older. It’s an awesome song… just a weird music video 😂
Facts!
🔥
It took me so many times watching this to understand what it means but thats only how i interpret it, who knows if i'm right or not

Money change u (maybe) i used to enjoy your opinion when u pay all your attention, but now it seems like u just do this for views only,
