I think there's more than that: every country in the world "produces" people with musical talent. Now, why some countries have the greatest number of famous musicians? I think there's nothing to do with musical talent, but with (1) conditions of life, and (2) the insertion of the country in the "musical system". This "musical system" is the structure formed by, among other things, a imposition of musical taste (nearly all the popular music in the world has american influences) that by it's turn is influenced by economic dominance. So, a country that has certain conditions of life in which music is important, and whose music coadunates well with the dominant taste (the american taste), has good chances of produce musicians recognized abroad.
@@R.C.F.2096 I think he was probably refering more to the fact that a large part of the brasilian culture is heavelly based on percursion, all the different parts he played, each one comes from a different state in Brasil and has its own history. I could write this comment in English, but I won't do that.
Enfim, emocionado. Parabéns, Eloy.
It is impossible that there is a perfect drummer... Until Eloy came. Overall creativity, speed, musicality, dynamics, knowledge, culture, accuracy and his maturity. Such a wonderful time to see these kinds of drummers at this time where speed is the only thing in their minds.
There are drummers that are fast. Drummers that hit hard with energy Drummers that have good groove Drummers thst have perfect tempo. Drunmers that are unique and creative. Drummers that can play odd signatures and polyrythms. Eloy is one of if not the only that seems to be S-tier in ALL these aspects.
The dude is the epitome of "power under control". What a legend. It makes sense he was already crushing at 14. Awesome video. Thanks Eloy!! Thanks Drumeo!
I like Slipknot. I have never been to a show and I am a drummer and love going to shows. I loved Joey's drumming. I loved Jay's contribution. When Slipknot played that warmup show with Eloy, I couldn't buy a ticket fast enough for their upcoming tour. See you in August Eloy.
He is a real artist, humble and trying to help people develop their talents... an awesome human being and incredibly talented... All my respect... I love this guy
When he says he cannot play that part anymore I can only think that's because there's not enough time in the day to practice it with all the other parts he practices everyday. You can only get that good with time invested. So much respect.
He broke his right leg 2 years ago and went through surgery where he putted a metal plaque from his knee to his shin 🥲i believe this is the reason why he says it's "impossible" for him to play this pattern nowdays.
I remember seeing that Modern Drummer DVD back then and being completely blown away how good the kid was. Really cool see him now and how far he's come! Awesome drummer.
Jim Root said hilmsef, that got inspired by Eloy and is going to grab his guitar more oftern to reach Eloy's level. Can you imagine that... World Class musicians.
Hi Eloy. The truth about your training for your Modern Drummer Festival 2005 performance is that you were trained by Gustavo Meli and after that you won that MD festival Edition. It's really worth mentioning. Watch the Vera Figueiredo, Eloy and Gustavo Meli live video for further details.
His solo at the Drummers United 2019 is his best performance to me. That solo is so creative and technical it could create an entire new genre on it's own.
I remember vividly watching this video and thinking "this guy is the future of drumming, and were the same age, that’s awesome!". I believe I was right after all these years!
First heard of Eloy through a Jeff Loomis shout out. I absolutely love that he's all about the musicality of percussion, and that his path took him away from the flashy flarey flexy chops and rolls and into just making the most incredible dynamic choices. He's extremely humble and honest for such a machine.
not only Eloy respect his past, we all in the #drummer comunity respect that, not all of us were able to play like that at 14 yo, so humble Eloy but it´s nothing else tha the effort everyday on his development that got him where his now, at the mayor leagues in #drumming ... cheers to Eloy Casagrande

Holy FORKS, the ending had him not only playing fast but LOOKING like he was sped up. I've never seen anyone play that fast/hard without changing form. Like, when people play that fast they are always taking some kind of physical shortcut to achieve it, but this dude WASN'T. Insane.
If only I can put 10000000... likes for this video I would do! Mainly thanks to Drumeo to kept this video till Eloy became the drummer for Slipknot! Thanks to Eloy for having agreed to such a performance. Remembering your performance, making a reaction to it, and then repeating it is worth a lot. Many years of success and collaboration with the best musicians. You are the best!
Thomas Lang has always been my favorite drummer, but I have to say....Eloy is right there with him. Love to see the progression of his career and talent. Awesome.
So awesome that Aquiles went to the festival with Eloy. I couldn't imagine doing something like this at 14, so to have someone like Aquiles there guiding me would have helped me to relax and not be so nervous.
This is a profound video for three reasons: We get to see a side-by-side comparison of an early pro drummer with his final form. We get to hear this important solo performed live on a modern recording. Eloy gets an opportunity to redo a critical moment from his life in front of an even larger audience. That's a very, very rare opportunity. This video did not disappoint on any of these levels. 👌 Joey could not possibly be happier. RIP
The production quality on those videos are absolutly insane. All the shots, the montage, the zoom (they know what to zoom on), the overhead shot, etc... The sound quality of the kit, of each toms, snare, bassdrum, so clear and dynamic... Everything is such on a high level. Super clean and top notch, gotta love it. Huge shoutout to the production crew, sick videos all always. Oh and Eloy is fucking sick

Enfim, emocionado. Parabéns, Eloy.
Eu também fiquei emocionado 😢🔥
nós 3 emocionados
Emocionante mesmo. Incrível esse vídeo!
Drummers that hit hard with energy
Drummers that have good groove
Drummers thst have perfect tempo.
Drunmers that are unique and creative.
Drummers that can play odd signatures and polyrythms.
Eloy is one of if not the only that seems to be S-tier in ALL these aspects.
Dany Carey

He's good. But he's not close to Eloy.
If we are being honest, Carey is a mediocre solo drummer
… since he was fourteen.
Virgil Donati eats Eloy in breakfast
And control
At 10:05 I really like his opinion about this part, and the way he thinks, more drummer/musiciens should have this vision for a solo.
The dude is the epitome of "power under control". What a legend. It makes sense he was already crushing at 14. Awesome video. Thanks Eloy!! Thanks Drumeo!
It's got so much more feel and clarity now, this man is an absolute beast ❤
I like Slipknot. I have never been to a show and I am a drummer and love going to shows. I loved Joey's drumming. I loved Jay's contribution. When Slipknot played that warmup show with Eloy, I couldn't buy a ticket fast enough for their upcoming tour. See you in August Eloy.
He is a real artist, humble and trying to help people develop their talents... an awesome human being and incredibly talented... All my respect... I love this guy
The groove definitely inhabits this guy. Que grande Eloy!!!!
I love the different tone he makes on the bass drum depending on the section. Such a thoughtful drummer
Absolute machine, this guy deserves every ounce of success for all the hard work he’s clearly put in over the years, seems like a super nice dude too
GOAT Gustavo Meli, who trained/coached Eloy, being VERY Grateful with Brazil and it's welcoming Drumming community
When he says he cannot play that part anymore I can only think that's because there's not enough time in the day to practice it with all the other parts he practices everyday. You can only get that good with time invested.
So much respect.
I wondered that myself. How can 14 year old Eloy play something 33 year old Eloy cannot?
He broke his right leg 2 years ago and went through surgery where he putted a metal plaque from his knee to his shin 🥲i believe this is the reason why he says it's "impossible" for him to play this pattern nowdays.
@@marigonzalles I'm fairly certain that if he put his mind and energy into it, he could relearn it. It's not like his right leg is not functioning.
I remember seeing that Modern Drummer DVD back then and being completely blown away how good the kid was. Really cool see him now and how far he's come! Awesome drummer.
My favorite drummer of all time. What a legendary background. Him joining slipknot is downright AMAZING!!!
Jim Root said hilmsef, that got inspired by Eloy and is going to grab his guitar more oftern to reach Eloy's level. Can you imagine that... World Class musicians.
He can navigate from soft ghost notes to full beast mode instantly.
He's a monster, one of the best drummers alive.
Hi Eloy. The truth about your training for your Modern Drummer Festival 2005 performance is that you were trained by Gustavo Meli and after that you won that MD festival Edition. It's really worth mentioning. Watch the Vera Figueiredo, Eloy and Gustavo Meli live video for further details.
I wasn’t expecting to get more Eloy’s video here for now, what a great surprise! This video is one of my favorites!
He's def one the best drummers alive right now. Insanely good and oh so powerful.
I’m getting really inspired to learn Latin drumming after watching Eloy do it. Guess I know what I’ll be searching for on Drumeo soon
Pernambuco, Brazil, representado!! ❤❤❤ emocionante!! ❤❤❤
maluco literalmente trouxe a a culturar dos 5 canto do brasil pro solo kkk
Being 14 year old and already playing like a pro. Holy sh... Seriously what a freakin beast (in a good way obviously) of drums.
I was a Brazilian guitarrist with 15yr in 2005 when i saw Eloy first time doing the solo and legit give me inspiration to be a better musician and pursuit my goals. Wish i have that will power now hahahahaah, kids sure do have something special about the " JUST DOOOO IIITTTT " hahahahaa
Aren't you brazilian anymore?
@@pedromaciel2751 Maybe he's not a guitarist anymore
Eloy is quickly becoming one of my favorites.
Holy FORKS, the ending had him not only playing fast but LOOKING like he was sped up. I've never seen anyone play that fast/hard without changing form. Like, when people play that fast they are always taking some kind of physical shortcut to achieve it, but this dude WASN'T. Insane.
Brazilian and Latin music have such amazing regional grooves. Thanks Eloy for breaking some down for us!
At 14yo he was a professional drummer! Well done champ!
Thomas Lang has always been my favorite drummer, but I have to say....Eloy is right there with him. Love to see the progression of his career and talent. Awesome.
Virgil Donati eats Eloy in breakfast
Not a competition. I just like them.
So awesome that Aquiles went to the festival with Eloy. I couldn't imagine doing something like this at 14, so to have someone like Aquiles there guiding me would have helped me to relax and not be so nervous.
Thanks for watching? Dude, thanks for playing!
U make me a proud brazilian =)
This is a profound video for three reasons: We get to see a side-by-side comparison of an early pro drummer with his final form. We get to hear this important solo performed live on a modern recording. Eloy gets an opportunity to redo a critical moment from his life in front of an even larger audience. That's a very, very rare opportunity. This video did not disappoint on any of these levels. 👌 Joey could not possibly be happier. RIP
He still has quite a few years left of playing ahead of him.. he's nowhere near his final form yet
16:10 Any musician knows that great feeling and empathizes with that smile that says “yep, still got it.” Amazing job!!!
jaw-dropping prowess and power
bravo !
Eloy, you are a brilliant ambassador of Brazilian music culture and heritage, assimilated within the metal tradition
🔥❤
I was at that festival and he was mind blowing 🤯🥁🔥
Respect cultural mix, mf's, this is what you get by taking the best of each race and culture. Brazilian and Latino American with proud. 🇧🇷
I prayed for this video. I can’t believe I found it!
Eloy makes me feel very proud to be Brazilian!!
👏👏👏👏🥁🥁
I saw that performance on my mid 20s and I was in complete awe. Now I realize it was Eloy.

admiration and respect for your drumming Eloy! You have achieved incredible things, it is a shame that you have not named Gustavo Meli, who was your coach and guide at MD festival 2005, trainer and teacher of great drummers, with thousands of students worldwide, whom as his student and I have a deep respect, admiration and affection!...
Long live the love and passion for drumming
He mentions Gustavo Meli in another Drumeo video.
