My mom was driving me home from work one day and she had been really upset about a recent passing in the family, especially since she was so close to them. Since this song reminds me of my mom, I grabbed her phone that was already playing music and changed it to this song. Despite my horrible voice I still sang to her, and she looked at me and broke down halfway through the song. By the end of the song we were both crying. It's a sad yet fond memory I have of me and my mom and it's a memory I'll cherish forever.

I have a theory about this video. It's not great and idk if anyone else has already said something similar but whatever. So, the lyrics clearly state that Tyler cares about and loves his mother, so much that he'd give her anything, and do anything for her. We all know Tyler has gone through some hard times and in some of those hard times has written deep shit songs in which he has clearly contemplated suicide in the past. Suicide: the possibility of his mother outliving him. I think this video plays in a scenario in which, unfortunately, our Tyler does commit suicide. To me, this video is about him coming back from the dead and trying to fulfill his promise to his mother, coming back to take care of her, and watch over her and singing to her the promises he made to her when he was still alive.

My nana is 86yrs old, I take care of her cause after having and raising 5 children none of them are will to step up.
This song played last week on the way home from taking her grocery shopping. She said she liked it, so when we got back to my apartment I pulled out my ukulele and played it again for her. I have never seen her cry but that was the closest to it I think I’ll ever get.

I have a theory about this video. It's not great and idk if anyone else has already said something similar but whatever.
So, the lyrics clearly state that Tyler cares about and loves his mother, so much that he'd give her anything, and do anything for her.
We all know Tyler has gone through some hard times and in some of those hard times has written deep shit songs in which he has clearly contemplated suicide in the past. Suicide: the possibility of his mother outliving him.
I think this video plays in a scenario in which, unfortunately, our Tyler does commit suicide. To me, this video is about him coming back from the dead and trying to fulfill his promise to his mother, coming back to take care of her, and watch over her and singing to her the promises he made to her when he was still alive.
Yeah idk, it's kind of a lame theory.
