- Hey Lovely's,
A real time "mini tutorial" starts at around 11:53
I braided my hair on Feb 7th into this half and half style. This was my first time doing knotless box braids, and I really enjoy them and how much less bulk there is. I did cut the hair in half and I only ended up using about 2 out of 3 "bundles" in the pack. The total time it took with breaks, and prep and trying to film was around 7 hours. I finished the back half in 3 hrs, but was getting tired and slowed down for the top half which took a lot longer than it should have, lol.
Thanks for watching!

Now that I've watched someone do it themselves I feel much more confident
unknown mystery I’m glad it was helpful! 😊
I did mine 3 weeks ago.
Super easy if you know how to braid! I wish I discovered this method sooner!!
They came out cute! That feed in cornrow is a true skill, especially on yourself..great job!
I like that U did them on yourself to give that visual beyond doing them on someone else’s head....u did an amazing job❤️❤️..I will be trying this method on myself and my clients
I saw so many videos on how to do the knotless box braids on yourself and had no understanding of how to do it until I watch your video. You did a good job of showing how to do it on your own hair and your hair looks beautiful. Keep up the good work!
Sherry Fridia awesome! And thank you! I actually just finished editing another tutorial! Hopefully I’ll get it up tonight!
Ok, after watching I feel confident that I can do this myself. Great video ❤️❤️❤️
Wow girl. You made this look so easy; now I can't wait to try it.
Sherrica Bryant this was my first time and once you start, it’s easier than expected! ♥️
Finally a tutorial where i can see what is being done!! Thank you so much
Y'all are sooo patient. I wish I had it.
I came here for the braids but fell in love with the piano 😘😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you for not babbling throughout your video. All detail work, less noise.
You did a great job! Your braids turned out beautifully
These are beautiful. Love it.
Black women are just EXTRAORDINARY!!!!
Looks Amazing! You did good 👏 tfs God bless you❤🙏
You did a great job and I watched careful on how you feed in the braids and I get it now. Thanks.
Nicely done! After watching this I’m definitely gonna try it bc now I understand the concept better.
sabett198x thank you! I’m going to do my hair again, but I’m gonna do my whole head sometime soon before I give birth so hopefully I can record the process again and give a clear talk through of what I’m doing. I’m glad it motivated you tho! You definitely just have to grab some hair and give it a go.
Your style is very cute and neat. I have been waiting to see someone do their own braids. I think I got this. Thank you for the inspiration!!
I have more braiding videos of my doing my own hair all over my channel! I hope they help you!
That style fits you. Nice job.
How do you know if it looks right in the back while braiding and parting
I am number 550 on liking this. Great job.
YES MA'AM SELF RELIANT GREAT JOB! IJS QQN
These are cute. I peep the boot camp marriage in the background lol
I'm loving your braids!!! 😍😍😍 where did you get the braids from?
You go girl
Great but I struggled to watch. No sound. Not a great idea. At least some music would have been better. Thanks for the tutorial.
Furr Smith I had issues uploading, but there are two other videos on my channel!
You did a great job!!! 💞 the style. I did this about a week ago but my back braids isn't that small( arms & fingers get too tired) 😁
Beautiful... where did you get that oil bottle from with the top that looks like a comb?
Nicole Kemp Sally’s! It’s like a couple of bucks.
i am so ready to try my own hair
It’s so expensive, I’m learning to do my own braids. Thank you 😊 but the back part is the worse part I can’t even handle. You make it look so easy 😩😩💔
Good job!
You nailed it. New sub, thanks for sharing. I watch Mary video as well. I learn a lot from her video's.
You made that parting look so easy. I was on the struggle bus for hours just trying to get mine parted 🤣. You did a really good job.
I have a parting tutorial!! ♥️
@@Shaaanelle thank you, I’ll check it out.
Do you find this to take less hair than regular box braids?
Shainna Medina no, but I think you can get away with using less hair then you might normally use just because of the overall finished look.
Love it
Good job 👏👏👏
I am so glad you did this type of braid, because I have been wanting to try this way of braiding since seeing the styles on Pinterest. Thank you Beautiful.
I did it on myself but only struggled with parting the back of my hair. You did it much neater for not looking.
Huda Ismail a hand held mirror works so well!!
If you have a medicine cabinet next to your bathroom mirror it works even better!!! ♥️♥️
Noted, thank you !
Wow! No sound. I Love it and was able to focus. Thank you♥️
Am subscribing now
Hello how many packs did you use
Alexis Alexander hey! 👋🏾 I used two out of the three sections in the jumbo pack
Good job.
You can buy the hair pre stretched saves A lot on time.
Misty S. Brown thanks! I’ll definitely look out for some next time I go to the beauty supply!
I need to get on this! I’m just afraid because my hair is like 3-4 inches in the front but in the back it’s like 2 inches, which is stopping me but I shouldn’t let it. But this video gave me an understanding on how easy it is to actually feed it in so thank you for this!
Astralpeace yes!!! It is very easy!! I hope it works out for you!
Knotless can be achieved by starting with 3 strands of braiding hair is how I do mine....time saver.
Antoinette Samuels do you have a video?
Waaw u try thanks for sharing dear
These are really nice. How long did it actually take you?
Ebony Griffin like seven hours lol but I was working into the middle of the night and got really slow
@@Shaaanelle Ahh okay. The ones I tried the other day were going to be a little bigger than that. I'd gotten through five braids and had to stop, had a few things working against me. I will try again soon though. Im not very fluent with styling my hair, but you made this look easy. 👌🤗
Ebony Griffin I have more clips of me doing my hair because I just did the braids again, this time the whole head and no feed-ins. Hopefully I can edit it and post it real soon! But yes! Definitely try again!
@@Shaaanelle Awesome!!! Ill be looking for it!
Wow
Like it
How many braids did you do ?
kamryn williams girl I do not know lmao. They were medium sized tho. I didn’t want to spend all day doing them so I didn’t go small.
Can't eait to do my own hair
Great video! I’d love if you could do another one and possibly show the rest of how you did your feed ins so it could be more clear
Tory Jefferson I’m not really good at feed-ins and I don’t really have a technique. I just put the hair in and keep braiding, lol. So sometimes you can see where I added the hair, which is why I chose to leave that part out.
Shaaanelle oh I understand. Thanks
How Yu keep them from curling up 🤷🏾♀️
Tiffany Graves giiiirrrrl, Lmao. The only solution I could find was to add the hair in sooner. So instead of doing a full plait, do like half of a plait then add the hair. I might have mentioned it in one of the other two videos I made. I kept thinking that maybe it was the way I braid or how I split my hair in three for the braid but i wasn’t sure so on the next time I did it I added the hair sooner on some braids to see and it worked.
Damn I tried doing this technique go knotless braids on myself for the first time I’m still in the process of finishing my hair 4 days later 😭🤣 cause I keep getting interrupted but my braids do not look this good at all I can barely part and the braids are meh I keep messing up and redoing them to make them look decent at least I just know I’m not braiding my hair again smh 🤦🏽♀️ it’s too much work
*for
jameliamartin the first time I did my own braids they were wearable, lol. I’m so much better at it now but I’d say it look at least 5-7 tries. And when I say tries I mean, braiding my whole head or a crown of individuals and wearing and and then just knowing what I wanted to do differently next time. If braiding your own hair to save money and for comfortability is your goal then just keep doing it lol. You’ll find your technique and unique braiding style that suits you!
please do a video on how you part. And, the different parts. I would really really really appreciate it. Thanks
why don't i have this talent lmao
Joelle t. You just gotta jump in and try! Lol
How long did it take u to learn this?
jenny jones I just ran across a tutorial on UA-cam and decided to try it. This was my first attempt.
@@Shaaanelle WOW!
I'm so Impressed it was your first try! Really looks Great! I'm going to try on my Granddaughter this weekend and all goes well I'll do mine next week. THANKS!❤
There’s no sound...
TheBabysassy I know this one was just to watch. I have more footage coming of me doing it another time where I’ll do a voiceover and explain what I’m doing.
O ok thanx I didn’t know if it was supposed to be like that or not
No sound
Joyce Wright I know. This is an old video where I was having a lot of technical issues. I have another tutorial on my channel a few videos away from this one as well as one on jumbo knotless box braids and one on parting! Hopefully those are helpful to you and they have sound lololol ♥️
i hate how quiet this video is.. no music no nothing. i also feel like it helps if you could explain what you’re doing.
Shaniya Stylik there’s another video on my channel where I added music and did a voice over! Check it out, you’ll probably like that one better. AND I just filmed myself doing jumbo ones last night!!!
I wish you she was talking, could of make it easier and fun to watch.
Mouizat Raki well this one in particular had some editing issues which is why I did two other tutorials on my channel! ♥️
She lost me with the music
Good job.
