😂😂😂😂😂me either. Plus it may be wrong but when my 13 year old see this she be like "can I please try this on you". I play hesitant and be like " gosh I suppose"😂😂😂. She cooks, she's creative on her cricut. She's been sewing for a year on her sewing machine and I can barely thread a needle. I'm not like her and my sisters. I'm here for their support 👌
I actually think I can do this. I’m so excited to try this Sunday! Edit: I did this on MLK Day and it came out beautifully. it took me 5 hours and the parts are a little off but for my very first time ever doing a protective styling on my own head or any head really, I'm proud of myself! Thanks for this tutorial!
It gets better every time when I start doing box braid on my head it will take me all day cause my hand can't handle it now it's just easy even though it will take some time
GIRRRRRLLLLLL I’ve had 5 packs of braiding here in my closet for months, too afraid to even attempt knotless box braids after failing horribly to do one damn braid! I cannot wait to try this for February!!🙌🏾 UPDATE: So I just finished using this method to create thigh length box braids! The EASIEST method I ever tried!! 💯 So freaking happy I tried it✨
M00n.child Im with you 😂 I really want to learn how to do them on my own, but I am just too even start lol keep us updated and let us know how it goes! Good luck!
Girl you have done it again!!! Girst you had me rocking twists all last semester and now I'm going to be rocking braids!! Thank you!!! Please keep these easy, cheap, long lasting styles coming because they are great for college students
@jaimari thank you soo much for this video!! I’m a licensed cosmetologist for 8years and from texas living in LA the only thing I can’t do is box braids and lace fronts the girl who was supposed to braid myself and my daughter hair for our birthdays May 26th and May 27th canceled this weekend 😣she’s the only stylist who I’ve trusted to do myself and my hair once! Because I’m very very particular about who I let in my head I do my own hair and my daughters hair and crochet saves me alll the time when I’m looking for protective styles for our vacation trips or summer because my daughter loves to swim. Well we’re leaving for San Diego May 28th and ive been searching all over Instagram and StyleSeat because I wanted to get knotless braids for the first time I was soo excited! But I told my husband I’m just going to save my money and try to figure something out to do to both of our hair. Well I got on UA-cam and typed in crochet knotless braids and you were the first video!!!🙌🏽🎊😆I’m so happy that I seen your video and that there is a option for people who can’t braid. Thank GOD for crochet it is a life and money saver!!😳😂ok I’m sure I’ve talked long enough! I’m going to do me and my daughters hair and I will definitely tag 🏷 you on Instagram thank you soo much beautiful!!!! My anxiety and stress is relieved we bout to be soo Cute!!😍😜😂🤣
Omg you saved my life last night! I started braiding my hair 4 days ago medium size box braids but quickly got overwhelmed cuz I'm pregnant, so when I found u I removed what I had done already and did it your way! I've never been happier!!😁🥰😘😄
I know this video is from a while ago, but this tutorial was a life saver in getting my daughters hair done! I couldn't find any available stylist and didn't really want to pay $150-$180. I tried this, and her hair came out great. Looked like real feed-ins, although it was crochet'd in. We received many compliments. Thank you! ❤
I started on mine last night now I’m finally done. This was my first time doing braids and they’re far from perfect, but everyone loves them💕 thank you!
You are God sent! Watched this vid yesterday. Braided the roots of my hair last night couldn't have taken more than 45 min. Bought hair at 11am finished my whole head at 2pm. Quickest set of box braids I've ever done. Not the neatest, but it's eveything a busy mom like myself needs. Next time it will be better. Thank you!
I’m definitely going to split this up into a two day process too and do it your way braid the roots then install the hair the next day. But I’m looking forward to doing it!
I’ve watched endless videos but your method is the easiest and least confusing because I can braid but I cant feed in and hate rubber bands so yeah this saved me $300 because stylists know my area are robbing us blind! Thank you so much!
Girl you just saved me so much time and frustration. I was about to start doing my own knotless braids and this is so much easier especially since don’t have to feed in hair and this protects hair way more than the traditional knot less braids. Thanks so much for putting us on.
Is that price for smaller ones which generally takes longer. These seem to be less than 50 braids in her hair. I had some done in summer for bday and she worked from home. Took her 15 hours in total and they went pass my chest and were medium size. Never again though. I had box braids before and the longest would be 10 hours. Shes just a slow braider. I had done some gorgeous loc crochet myself and had them in for 3 weeks and took me like 7 hours with breaks to do it. I may try these out one day.
I don’t have any kids and I still ain’t dropping that much on box braids. I can’t afford the braiding game to any capacity anymore. I’ve had to turn into a DIYer
Omg I’m two years late😭 but this is the EASIEST method I’ve seen so far… I’m not too good at feeding in hair so this is definitely beneficial I did a tester braid yesterday and it came out BEAUTIFUL. Doing my whole head tomorrow. Thank You So Much for this video 💕.
I just tried one on the front of my hair and I love it!!!! It was super easy and I'm excited to do the rest once I find a good edge control. Thank you so much! Sincerely a mom of 3 girls💖
I am certainly not a hair gal. I recently learned how to cornrow about 3 yrs ago. And still I need more practice. I can't wait to try this on my sister this weekend and on myself one day! It looks VERY easy, great explanations. You are MADD gorgeous too!!!
I've done two jumbo braid styles for feeding braids, jumbo twist and now jumbo knotless box braids. I've high key been coming across some gems that have made it so easy for ue. And I thank ya for that!!! I'm excited to do this style and technique. 😊🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
im going to do this the next time i braid my hair, i usually use rubber bands but this is so cute and uses alot less tension and still seems relatively easy
I just had to come here to thank you. I found this video (and subscribed) in April when here in Canada went into quarantine. I have been rocking this method of braids ever since then! My hair has grown so much, my edges have gotten thicker! Thank you so so so much for this video! I have since binge watched all your videos and love your channel ❤
Your videos have helped me so much. So so so much monetarily especially. I have 4 daughters plus myself. My teenager wants all the latest styles and I’ve been able to do that for her. I’ve applied your techniques to make kid appropriate styles for them. I really can’t do anything but like and subscribe but I really do love your videos.
I've been trying to learn how to do box braids ALL MY LIFE and this video was the BEST I've ever seen!!! I watched it ONE TIME and practiced on my son's head because he has LONG HAIR, lol and my SECOND braid, Y'ALL; It came out PERFECT!!!! Thank you soooo much... Your method was easy, quick and very well explained.... #IDidIt☺
OMG!!!!!! You are such a lifesaver!!!!!! Your techniques have given me the confidence to do my own twists and braids and to stop shelling out hundreds of dollars to pay to get them done!!! Thank you so much!!!!!!💕💕💕😭😭😭
So I’ve had this video saved for a few months now...did it on my 5yo (combined your method with a few other tips I got from some kid-oriented mommy hairstylists I follow)...and it looks GREAT!! She is over the moon with her box braids, and I’m over the moon that I don’t have to do her hair for another month 😆
I def love the thickness of the braids added with the crochet method!😍 BOMB!.. straight genius my love👌👌I've been doing hair for years and I am pumped to try this on myself😇💇
Great Job!!! So... I have been wanting to try knotless braids. I installed small waist length braids using this method and they look AMAZING!!! It looks just like knotless braids. I have been receiving compliments nonstop. Everyone is constantly asking if I can do their braids and how much I would charge lol. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing!!!
As a mother of two daughters who can't do hair to save her life, thank you so much for these easy tutorials. I've just subscribed and can't wait to see more.
You are a lifesaver I have been wanting to wear braids for almost 20+ years because I used to wear them a lot in high school I am now 40 years old and I’ll be damned if I’m going to be paying $200 when I can just learn how to do it myself and do it for free thank you so much for showing me this technique❤️
This is amazing ❤️ I Love Braiding Hair been doing my own hair since a teenager and been trying protective styles on my own saves me so much money and its at the comfort of my own home 👍🏽 This is well described and so neat . Thanks
😊Jai, just want to thank you for sharing your talents on media platforms. I always wanted to do my own braids, jumped on UA-cam to find an “interesting DIY” and WOW...you are the first one I clicked. I’m subscribed and ready to learn ALL your techniques and styles. This COVID pandemic sad as it is, has also allowed me to do all my beauty care needs right at home. 🥳THANK YOU AGAIN and I will post my braids when complete, will attempt this week👍🏽🤦🏽♀️🤗!,
Yes!!! I’m a mom of FOUR girls and one boy! It is EXPENSIVE to get 3 heads braided (my youngest girl is only 2)!! I used to be decent in box braiding and cornrows when I was a teen and early 20’s! I used to do mine and my sisters weaves! Even did my sister hair for 5th grade graduation when flat twists and curly ponytails were popping! But I lost my touch and this video helps soooo much and it’s giving me confidence to try beauty school!!! Thank you!!!!
This is SO helpful! I’ve been doing my own box braids for almost 6 years and my grip has always been awful! I can’t wait to try this method so my roots don’t look so raggedy 😂
I simply adore this video. You had me at " if you don't want to spend a lot of money and you want to do it yourself". Ive been dragging my feet with doing it myself just because of life... But madam, you motivate me to JUST DO IT! My goal is to do it for my new job - fingers crossed!!! Thank u again.. Love this vid😘
You’re the queen of protective styling. Thanks for this video! I will be trying this in a few days. When you say super cheap hair, you mean the kanekelon hair for like $2-3 right?
I never thought of doing them this way..needed a last minute style and didn’t want to spend to much and came across your video and honeyyyyyy THANK YOU!!!! Worked out perfectly 🥰🥰😍👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
7 months late but I’m currently trying this method after trying the normal method everyday for a week and crying because I couldn’t grip my hair😭. I love you and you have a new subscriber. I’ll tag you on ig once I’m done.
Listen, I have been trying since January to do these braids on myself because I like the look and it has less tension than the regular box braids. I cannot thank you enough for this. I’ve had my braiding hair sitting collecting dust because I could not afford to try this and fail and I’ve been trying the conventional method with no success. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. P.S I love that chunky blanket. New Subbie❤️
I've used this technique before. It's so much easier because I can't grip my own hair and braiding my hair and crocheting it through was so much easier . It lasted for my trip to the islands.
I'm so excited to try this on Friday! I checked out your Amazon list and I didn't see the Mane Choice oil or the cream you used to moisturize your hair beforehand. Can you please tell me the names of those products please? Thanks for sharing this technique, girl! Good looking out. 😊
Im returning to school next week so Ive been looking for a light weight, low maintenance, inexpensive style. I was thinking about getting knotless braids but the price is between $300-400 here in Houston and they take 7-8 hours on average 😫😫😫. I'm a decent braider and I know how to crochet so I think Im going to try this out this weekend. Im not sure if I missed it but how many packs of hair did you end up using and how long did it take you start to finish? Anyway thanks so much for sharing because you just saved me time, money and my edges lol 💕💕💕
This style looks very nice on you! Thank you for this video!! I really struggle with getting a good grip for the hair and my hair, but the method you’re using looks like an easier technique that will make all braids a consistent size! Love it 😍 and I cannot wait to try!
I’ve watched so many tutorials and videos on how to do box braids and your video was THE BEST one! Thank you so much. I am in college, and a natural and doing my hair every week is very time consuming. I’ve tried out your technique and my hair looks amazing, so many compliments. I will never have to go to the hair salon again lol. Thank you #newsubbie ❤️❤️❤️🙌🏾
I can do knotless braid on others the normal way. I wanted to do them on myself and failed miserably. I really think that I can do this method. Thanks for sharing. You are saving us so many coins. I appreciate you
OMB thank you for thiz vid!!!!!💖💗🖖💫♾ I juz tried 1 and I'm in love😍😍😍😍♾ so tomorrow imma do my whole head, I can't wait!!!!! Thankz again sis your a blessing💖💗💫🖖♾
This is the method that I have started to use through my own discovery and I love it. I actually braid all the way down, cause it makes tucking in your ends REALLY easy.
I’ve been so scared to try and braid my own hair but this tutorial gives me confidence and will hopefully help me stay in military regulation for my hair WHILE saving money. Girl, THANK YOU.
Beautiful job!!! I’ve been looking for a crocheted knotless braid tutorial for the summer!!!! I can even see this as crochet knotless twists as well! Thank you so much!!
I'm so happy I have found your channel Jai! I was trying to learn how to braid but they weren't so neat at the base but this will definitely make my work easier. I can officially say goodbye to going to the salon to plait my braids!!
Omg you just snapped I’m definitely going to try these because I can not do knotless braids to save my life but these I believe I can definitely do !!! Thank you so much ☺️
I usually do my own hair but during the pandemic, I hadn't been doing anything to my hair. You have given me 2 styles. I'm going to try this one next time. I saw the video of you doing the Jamaican Bounce so I'll be installing that tomorrow. Thanks for sharing 😍
Oh wow this looks much easier and maybe even healthier for my hair, I’ve really been wanting to try box braids but I don’t want to put the rubber bands in my hair and I think you’ve solved my dilemma 👏👏
This tutorial was so good and detailed thank you! The braids look really good too! It has me feeling like I can actually accomplish this style lol. I’ll try it out this weekend. 🤞🏽
Dont forget to THUMBS UP THIS VIDEO! ❤❤❤❤

As for true knotless braids... I don't think I have the patience for those at all. Lol.
But who knows? I might attempt oneday!

You're so welcome!!! 😀
This is SO helpful! I’ve been doing my own box braids for almost 6 years and my grip has always been awful! I can’t wait to try this method so my roots don’t look so raggedy 😂
Omg!!! You are heaven sent!!!!!! I can’t really grip the best but this crochet method is really going to help!!!
I clicked so fast. I've never seen your vidoes before but I paused my FAVORITE show, Chicago PD, to watch this. Thank you beloved 💕😍
Ooohlawd Chile I love me some Chicago PD, but I agree this video is so bomb, so informative...Hank n'nem would've had to wait. 🤣🤣🤣💖
When you say super cheap hair, you mean the kanekelon hair for like $2-3 right?
yep! I paid $2 each pack
@@JaiMarii Hi, how many packs did you use or how many packs did you buy? Thanks!
Gurl I looovve this method. I have been trying to do box braids all methods... and this my gurl is indeed the easiest... Thank you sista
Out of all the methods I’ve watched, I like yours the best and will be doing it next time for sure!!!
How did u do?
Thinking about doing mine tomorrow girl. I should follow you. I wanna see yours. ☺️
Liked before watching, I've been wanting to do this for a while...love you!
I was struggling so much doing knotless and this tutorial makes it look so easy using the crotchet needle, definitely trying this tonight❗️🔥🔥
Yes girl! Save that money! It took me ab 3 hrs and I used 5-6 packs of $2 hair😁.
I appreciate you
Best tutorial ever. I’m about to cry happy tears. Lol
OMG! Yeesssss!
Okay living on the wild side I I think I'll do it.

This is genuis!! No feeding in hair and trying to braid the weave in awkward positions.. thank you 🙌💯
You're so welcome!
Girl this salons be charging crazy prices.. All it took me was one video to subscribe.. Hoping to learn how to braid my hair from your channel...
This is the method that I have started to use through my own discovery and I love it. I actually braid all the way down, cause it makes tucking in your ends REALLY easy.
I usually don’t comment on hair videos. I just watch and learn. I just want to say YASSSS! I cannot figure out knotless. This is a perfect alternative
❤❤
I’ve been so scared to try and braid my own hair but this tutorial gives me confidence and will hopefully help me stay in military regulation for my hair WHILE saving money. Girl, THANK YOU.
Thank you for this because I was not paying $200-$300 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
Me either lol
Imeiyah Talbert if you live anywhere near central IL I know someone who does amazing knotless briefs for $125!!
You have won me over!!!!!!!!! I will do this with my hair! Love the tone of your voice and the simplicity of your videos. Keep.up the excellent work!

@@JaiMarii You are most welcome!
I’ve been waiting for someone to do something like this❤️love it
Beautiful job!!! I’ve been looking for a crocheted knotless braid tutorial for the summer!!!! I can even see this as crochet knotless twists as well! Thank you so much!!
This video saved my nappy head life lol. I love my braids and I'll be doing these again!
I'm so happy I have found your channel Jai! I was trying to learn how to braid but they weren't so neat at the base but this will definitely make my work easier. I can officially say goodbye to going to the salon to plait my braids!!
Girl this looks so good! Im going to try this!!
Omg you just snapped I’m definitely going to try these because I can not do knotless braids to save my life but these I believe I can definitely do !!! Thank you so much ☺️
Oooooo girl! This is cute. I'm gonna do this when my edges get stronger. They're growing back from postpartum shedding right now. Lol!
Been there!!! I have a old video on how I grew mine back pretty fast after they fell out from having my son!
Please say how u are growing them back mines been gone for years help please 🗣😐
@@jademoore6206 Honestly, I'm trying everything and I'm not sure if anything is working for real. I'm still having a lot of shedding.
Omg same sis
I usually do my own hair but during the pandemic, I hadn't been doing anything to my hair. You have given me 2 styles. I'm going to try this one next time. I saw the video of you doing the Jamaican Bounce so I'll be installing that tomorrow. Thanks for sharing 😍
This looks like something I could handle. Definitely going to try this. Thank you! 🤗
Meli Novelli girl you’re brave, I cant get myself to try it lol good luck! Keep us updated on how it goes!
Oh wow this looks much easier and maybe even healthier for my hair, I’ve really been wanting to try box braids but I don’t want to put the rubber bands in my hair and I think you’ve solved my dilemma 👏👏
I think this is a great tutorial! Easy to understand, I think I'll be doing it pretty soon 🙂
STTTANKKKSSSSSS
This tutorial was so good and detailed thank you! The braids look really good too! It has me feeling like I can actually accomplish this style lol. I’ll try it out this weekend. 🤞🏽
