    I braid my own hair and never had an understanding of the knotless box braids until I saw your video. You did a good and close demonstration of how it's done. I will be trying the knotless box braids on my hair next. I really enjoyed your video. Keep up the good work!

    Thank you so much for the "index finger, thumb" trick for feeding in. I've tried other techniques but this is by far the best technique. You just inspired me to do my own knotless braids. 🤩🤩

      Shaaanelle lol I was so over it!!! but it was only my second time doing braids so I was proud of how it turned out.
      Those are really pretty too, ppl just complain that the crochet hair gets matted fast

    • @Shaaanelle
      @Shaaanelle  5 років тому +2

      Vivid Rose ew I hope not, lol. I got freetress* hair but I plan to use regular braiding hair and add in the freetress hair towards the middle and bottom where I want it to look curly. Idk, lol I gotta play with it. I wonder if you can dip that hair... 🤔

    • @VividRose
      @VividRose 5 років тому

      Shaaanelle you could but without cold wave rods it may straighten.

    • @Shaaanelle
      @Shaaanelle  5 років тому +4

      Vivid Rose imma see what happens. Worse case I’ll just put perm rods or something and re dip it to make it curly again.

      Whoooop! I hope they come out super cute. For the ends, you can loosely braid the bottoms and get a wavy/ curly effect while dipping your hair. You can also use rollers or perm rods too!

    i've been doing my hair for a while now, i get better every time but one thing i've been scared to try is knotless braids bc i don't know how to feed in hair to save my life. this video was the only video where i felt like i could actually SEE what your hands were doing when you added each piece of hair. thank you!!!

      Kristin Johnson you’re welcome! Just give it a try! Hopefully this works out for you. I’ve also seen people doing them crochet style. I personally don’t like the way it looks on large braids knotless braids but it might look cute if you do them small. Just another option if you can’t get this down, but I hope your attempts are successful! ♥️😂

    How do you determine how much hair to use that will give you the size you want?

    • @Shaaanelle
      @Shaaanelle  5 років тому +16

      TRACEY MACHIO by knowing what size you want... a trick you can do is grab some hair to do a regular box braid, unbraid it, and then split that piece of hair into three. The first time I did knotless braid I sectioned all my hair into regular sized pieces first and then broke them down how I just mentioned.

    Hi, not sure if you will see this but i was wondering if you would be able to tell me how many pieces of hair you fed into each braid? and is it important to do a certain amount? pls answer if you can i am having trouble trying to do this style. i have been struggling with the sections and the actual feed in was giving me trouble.

    • @Shaaanelle
      @Shaaanelle  2 роки тому

      I did three pieces. How much hair you use is going to depend on the density of hair. If the hair is thin then you’ll need to use smaller amounts. If it’s thick then you can use thicker pieces of hair.

    Every time i watch your videos i could see how easy it look to do as i say before i will definitely try it,but i mostly do Cuban twist to my hair,can you one day do a twist!! Great job as always 😊😊

    • @Shaaanelle
      @Shaaanelle  4 роки тому

      ClassicMe I tried twists once and I felt like it is capable of damaging my hair since my hair isn’t really woven in. Lol idk if that made sense but I will try them again!

    1:13 off topic, the chair you have here, did you order it from amazon or target? How do you like the quality? I have been thinking of purchasing them for 2 weeks now, I would love your feedback.

    • @Shaaanelle
      @Shaaanelle  5 років тому +2

      ThickNCurly1 I honestly don’t remember where we got the chair but I doubt it was amazon. To be honest, it’s a a little bit scratchy, especially if you get cut hair pieces on it. It’s functional tho!

    Really nice braids and very helpful! I do have a question tho. When you're adding the hair in the process of braiding,is the hair folded in half ?

    • @Shaaanelle
      @Shaaanelle  4 роки тому +1

      Ruth Ziempuo yes! It’s in half using that same U shape you would if you were braiding regularly.

    How do i keep my transitioning hair healthy without shedding a lot of hair? Please help

    • @Shaaanelle
      @Shaaanelle  5 років тому +1

      Shanice Abrahams honestly that depends on your hair. You have to know how it reacts to certain products. Deep conditioning is important tho. And keeping it moisturized. If your hair is shedding you might need to take extra care of your scalp.

    They look great! You said you’ve had them in about 4 weeks right? What do they look like now? Have you gotten them wet at all?

    • @Shaaanelle
      @Shaaanelle  5 років тому +5

      Genevieve LeeAnn I haven’t wet them. Only the mist and whatever from the shower. They’ve grown out a bit but other than that I think they look fine. I was expecting them to get a little messy but it’s not too bad. Maybe I’ll record an update or the takedown.
