When this album came out. Every other band in existence took notice and started worrying. GNR started their tour opening for Aerosmith. Half way through the tour. Aerosmith was opening for GNR.
And the first time Slash heard Aerosmith he had come over to hook up with a girl, but she put on their record. He got so distracted that he forgot and just sat listening to it over and over 😂😂
Guns and Rose's were the biggest rock stars of the 80s check out "November rain and sweet child of mine" both amazing songs oh and Mr. Brownstone yes...
I wouldn’t say they were the biggest rockstars of the 80s since they didn’t release an album until 1987. I think Def Leppard and AC/DC were bigger, maybe Van Halen too during the majority of that decade
You should listen to November Rain if you wanna hear them slow it down and produce an absolute masterpiece! It's up there with some of the greatest songs ever written!
This is what they close their encore with. It's absolutely insane once that whistle blows. People losing their minds. One of the best concert experiences I've had

I was never a huge GnR fan, but everyone was rocking that Appetite for Destruction record when it hit. I was in like 5th grade, but my best friend was super into hair metal, so I heard most of it. You've already done "Welcome to the Jungle", so I'll recommend "Sweet Child O' Mine" or "November Rain". I was in high school when the latter came out and that joint was huge. The video was the most expensive of its time. It's probably one of their best songs, for the grandeur of the music. Slash's guitar solo near the end of the track never fails to hit my emotions in a way that brings tears to my eyes. Not even hyperbole, for real.
Most of this video was filmed at Giants Stadium, but the B&W footage at 8:50 was filmed at a festival in the UK. At least one person died in that madness.

GnR in an iconic band thats music is everywhere. You likely heard a cover, or heard it in a movie. Lots if there songs where in movies. Either all or parts of them
One thing about GNR is that you got what you saw. They were the real deal Rockers. Never faked a thing. What a time to have been alive to see them in their prime. Paradise City is one of my all time favorites. 🤘🏼
1987 - this was their debut album and they opened for Motley Crue on their "Girls, Girls, Girls" tour initially, by the end of that tour they blew up so big they were headling, selling out arenas, and playing stadium shows like the one in this video dude! I saw them twice that year, and again a few years later just two months before they released "Use Your Illusion I & II" - that was at a horse track in Birmingham, AL with Skid Row as the opening act with an estimated 180,000 people in attendance! Yes...it was absolutely amazing to witness.
This came out not long after I joined the US Navy. in 1988. Deployed on my ship USS Conyngham (DDG 17) for a 6 month Med cruise, and that whole cruise we blasted this album (Appetite for Destruction), Metallica's And Justice For All, Skid Row, and Queensryche's operation:MINDCRIME (when it released) the whole time. It was the soundtrack of my 18th year, and it was amazing!
Originally, those fans were to keep the performers cooled off and not too sweaty while playing instruments. Then it became a cool stage image for long-haired rock and metal bands to play over.
This whole album is 🔥 one of the best rock albums of all time! I'm not even joking

There was not a bad song on the "Appetite for destruction" album. This is great cover to cover rock experience.
there is really not every song is so good
I was never wild about "Think About You." It's generic, and to me it's just the song before Sweet Child O'Mine.
COFFEE GAMING NETWORK I did like the Acoustic Version You’re Crazy better
Yep! There are very few albums like this, but AfD is definitely in that very elite club of albums with no duds.
