Dave isn't overrated. He is loved. There is a large difference. To be loved you must love. Never has he called himself the best. He will openly tell interviewees that he is blessed and lucky.
Dude, 16 isn't that much of a young age to be a good drummer... there're literally kids who are younger than that who can play far better than what you saw dave play at his best.
portaccio you can't break quality drums just by playing. The only thing that will break are the drum heads and those are very inexpensive to replace. Cymbals on the other hand are a different story.
I don’t understand the debate about whether he’s the best drummer or not. He’s got a really cool drumming style and he’s one of my favorite drummers. What’s wrong with just leaving it at that?
I'm still super fucking butthurt that I'll never get to see Queens of the Stone Age with Dave Grohl on drums. That was, in my opinion, one of the best rock records ever recorded, especially for all of the drum tracks.

Adam Hitze Monster of Spex is great, and the band at their prime, but they coulda picked a better segment than Floyd the Barber. Not even a Dave Grohl drum part
so glad they have a Them Crooked Vultures clip. Some people really don't appreciate they group enough, especially with and allstar team of Dave Grohl, John Paul Jones, And Joshua Homme.
there is not a person on this planet that I owe a thank you more than this guy, I have since grade school played in one way or another drums but after hearing D. G. play and watching the amount of enjoyment he got from playing I took the art serious. now I won't be famous nor rich with dollar dollar bills but thanks to him I enjoy playing just for mine and for those listening .
Most consistent drummer I've ever seen. He and Stewart Copeland are the reason I picked up drums in 1994. Seeing Dave form Foo Fighters gave me the courage to learn guitar as well in 1995. More of a drummer and producer nowadays. People still get pissed when I'm playing drums in a band and correcting the guitarists' shoddy music theory tho lol
Grohl has been always an inspiration for me as a Musician, funny thing I started with guitar and vocals, then switched to the drums. Now I'm the making of my own "Probo" project !
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!! This video is awesome, congratulations Drummer Summer u rocked!!! If Dave saw this video, I think he'd award ir as the best ever, I loved as hell, my applauses! I just missed a bit more of QOTSA here :( but still awesome^^ just a question, in 3:25, which song is that? Thank u!!!

im not sane production s i dont think hes recognized enough for his drumming
Mr. Wapojif
but where is he now? 🤔
Mr. Wapojif your argument would be valid if he weren’t in 2 world famous bands, one for drumming lmao
He earned it
People just love to compare and don't know how to enjoy the music.

🤣👌

You can say whatever, but Dave did it the hard way by relentless touring sometimes playing to empty clubs. I was at a few of those gigs.

It’s impossible to avoid cracking cymbals, it sucks cause of the price but eventually it will happen

Grohl taught Animal how to play drums!
:-)
Nah, that was Keith Moon. There's a great huge music play list on my channel if you like good music, you might know some of them ? :)
I once heard that Animal was based on Keith Moon & Dr. Teeth on Dr. John.
dysfunctionaldamagemusic not even close but still a great drummer

My name Yes the frequent tempo changes and lack of steady rhythm were bad ass ;)
kay, u know what ur talking about, kay

Damn, he's just hammering those fucking kits.
Indeed he is. When it comes to ROCK…you gotta hit those fuckers!
His stuff with QOTSA is some of my favourite work of his. So good 👍🏻
Grohl served the songs be played, that makes him pretty good to me.
You know what serving a song means? Bc Krist did it too in Nirvana, i wonder who wanted that....Hhmmmmmmm
I always feel like I simply 'love tap' my drums after watching Dave play.

There is no drummer with more raw power than Dave Grohl and that is one of the few absolutes in this world

2:03, I've never heard him play like this. It sounds DISTINCTLY like Abe Cunningham, from 95-2001.
2:03 Dave managed to hit ALL the dishes and all the boxes, pay attention to this part
No one ever accused Dave of playing too lightly!
Genius takes a lot of work. Every great drummer has his or her own feel. Distinctive and in Dave’s case spectacular.
Was Dave Grohl ever shit on the drums
Probably when he was learning, lol
Yes. When he was younger. I know people probably don't want to hear this. He has improved dramatically by the early 90's.
He's is as average as average gets. A very fortunate garage drummer that just likes to play loud. Nothing more.
That's the point of Rock, dumbass xD
