Dave isn't overrated. He is loved. There is a large difference. To be loved you must love. Never has he called himself the best. He will openly tell interviewees that he is blessed and lucky.
Dude, 16 isn't that much of a young age to be a good drummer... there're literally kids who are younger than that who can play far better than what you saw dave play at his best.
portaccio you can't break quality drums just by playing. The only thing that will break are the drum heads and those are very inexpensive to replace. Cymbals on the other hand are a different story.

Awesome thanks for putting this together!!! Love Foo Fighters and Dave so much, but I truly love drumming! Been an air drummer many years😎🤘time to get a kit!
I'm still super fucking butthurt that I'll never get to see Queens of the Stone Age with Dave Grohl on drums. That was, in my opinion, one of the best rock records ever recorded, especially for all of the drum tracks.
you're not the only one mate. you're not the only one. I'd give a kidney to be in the same room as that lineup just to hear them play No One Knows or First it Giveth
so glad they have a Them Crooked Vultures clip. Some people really don't appreciate they group enough, especially with and allstar team of Dave Grohl, John Paul Jones, And Joshua Homme.
there is not a person on this planet that I owe a thank you more than this guy, I have since grade school played in one way or another drums but after hearing D. G. play and watching the amount of enjoyment he got from playing I took the art serious. now I won't be famous nor rich with dollar dollar bills but thanks to him I enjoy playing just for mine and for those listening .
Most consistent drummer I've ever seen. He and Stewart Copeland are the reason I picked up drums in 1994. Seeing Dave form Foo Fighters gave me the courage to learn guitar as well in 1995. More of a drummer and producer nowadays. People still get pissed when I'm playing drums in a band and correcting the guitarists' shoddy music theory tho lol
Adam Hitze Monster of Spex is great, and the band at their prime, but they coulda picked a better segment than Floyd the Barber. Not even a Dave Grohl drum part
Dave grohol u are a great musician I have never been to any of ur shows never have had the money to go why I say I live in a one bedroom apartment with my two girls and have to work factory job to get by not asking for anything just I like ur music and hopefully one of theses days I will get to meet you and shake ur hand or see u in concert
Grohl has been always an inspiration for me as a Musician, funny thing I started with guitar and vocals, then switched to the drums. Now I'm the making of my own "Probo" project !
As a kid he looked up to Corrosion of Conformity’s drummer Reed Mullin.. In other words Reed Mullin is why Dave Grohl started drumming.. Rip Reed Mullin 2020
He is the best drummer in 80s. I see drummer in his enjoyment from body and face expression but skill. Hes like keith moon and keith moons just like dave
Dave isn't overrated. He is loved. There is a large difference. To be loved you must love. Never has he called himself the best. He will openly tell interviewees that he is blessed and lucky.
im not sane production s i dont think hes recognized enough for his drumming
Mr. Wapojif
but where is he now? 🤔
Mr. Wapojif your argument would be valid if he weren’t in 2 world famous bands, one for drumming lmao
He earned it
People just love to compare and don't know how to enjoy the music.
He puts everything he has into every performance
Even at 16 he was an amazing drummer
Even in his youth, he was something
ehhh not so much but he improved drastically for sure
Dude, 16 isn't that much of a young age to be a good drummer... there're literally kids who are younger than that who can play far better than what you saw dave play at his best.

truest words have never been said. Future generations will look back on those crazy motherfuckers and go "fuck yeah."
I love the "to be continued"... cause u know he'll be at it for another 30+ yrs!
Dave can play in any band. That's how good he is!....insane!
If he likes playing the drums so much why is he always trying to break them?
portaccio Rock drums are made to be beaten.up
portaccio you can't break quality drums just by playing. The only thing that will break are the drum heads and those are very inexpensive to replace. Cymbals on the other hand are a different story.
It’s impossible to avoid cracking cymbals, it sucks cause of the price but eventually it will happen
The harder you beat the better it sounds

There is no drummer with more raw power than Dave Grohl and that is one of the few absolutes in this world
Wow...
You know youre good when the people around you stare at you, with eyebrows raised and smiles on their face.
Thanks for putting this together. Nice job! Love it.
I always feel like I simply 'love tap' my drums after watching Dave play.
Grohl served the songs be played, that makes him pretty good to me.
You know what serving a song means? Bc Krist did it too in Nirvana, i wonder who wanted that....Hhmmmmmmm
The guy is pure energy and heart.

Grohl taught Animal how to play drums!
:-)
Nah, that was Keith Moon. There's a great huge music play list on my channel if you like good music, you might know some of them ? :)
I once heard that Animal was based on Keith Moon & Dr. Teeth on Dr. John.
dysfunctionaldamagemusic not even close but still a great drummer
dysfunctionaldamagemusic Dave likes john wright from the band nomeansno
Dave checks on the checkboxes on my list of what it takes for greatness... that’s hard work passion and dedication without the drugs bring excellence

I agree completely. So happy they have Theodore drumming for them now. The guy that followed Grohl wasn't great.
My name Yes the frequent tempo changes and lack of steady rhythm were bad ass ;)

Always preferred Dave grohl as a drummer. He's is epic, a powerhouse.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE DRUMMERS, and he seems to play better and better through the years!
The 1997 gig was at Brixton Academy - I was there it was the 23rd November. I saw them twice that year. Great gig.

3:45 ik thats something really simple, but even the way he hits those cymbals are tasteful. what a drummer
Best of the Best ....this is the legend....salute DG
All bs we know him today because of his songwriting abilities, he writes very good music
His drum kits surely owed him money
Dave was the reason I started playing drums.
should have put the one where he plays with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones at the stadium
Absolute drum beast

Dave Grohl, Chad Smith, Jimmy Chamberlin, Sean Kinney and Matt Cameron are the legends of drums.
Love how Anderson Cooper was not expecting Dave to pound the drums in that small space and just blinks and leans back trying to cover his shock. lol
I love Dave grhol the very great drummer♥️
Should have had mtv unplugged, that was pretty iconic in his drumming career. 1 triplet away from being replaced
