Clicked on it and saw over an hour video…. Immediately cast it to the living room tv and kicked the family out. Lol time for a beer and a movie. Happy father day everyone.
Thanks for clearing the trees! We ended up running part of the route south of Mt Hood today. We didn’t need our saws once. You rarely get to thank the people who cut the trail for you!
That goes for the Feds too. I would bet that burned stand of tightly spaced pecker poles was on Federal land. On the bright side, we won't have to worry about it burning again this year.
Back in the 60's when I was a lot younger, my folks belonged to what was back then, the Rough Riders Jeep club. We didn't take 10 day trips cuz no one back then could afford to take 10 days off of work. So we'd go out for three or sometimes 4 days at a time. We went in some pretty knarly places so watching your videos brought back some long forgotten memories. We have a Polaris RZR now and it goes thru terrain like what you guys went thru waaay easier. But of course we can't carry all the stuff you guys carry so we just camp with our 5th wheel camper and just go out for a day at a time. But at least we're still getting out. I'm 73 now and even though I had a double heart attack last year, i'm still going to keep going out and enjoying our beautiful mountains here in Montana.
Currently watching this in the NICU. I can't wait to take these adventures and make memories with my family. Happy Father's Day, dads, and what an awesome video, Nate!
I agree, absolute amazing video. I live in Oregon and makes me want to go explore Oregon even more. If I could ask for one thing, turn down the music, love engines, loves tires, don't care for music in outdoor videos. If you keep the music I will still watch, you do an excellent job on narrating and video.
47:15 is a prime example why I have a portable/onboard welder in my rig. I have used it on myself, but mostly on friends and stranded strangers. I have used the Miller portable suitcase welder and currently running a on-board Power Welder System. Love them both.
This video rocked! I watched it twice - once on my phone and the second time on the big screen with the sound up! The production quality is amazing! You told the story of the journey, it wasn't a gopro strapped to a truck for an hour or a pile of handheld shots over one obstacle. Your storytelling is top notch. Your channel is the bar for offroad content!
OR resident and not far from the middle section I will definitely be going on the Oregon BDR this year and thankful that you guys cleared the way already for those of us taking it this year!! Great content and always a good day when Nate posts a new video.
Truly interesting video, and mind-blowing stuff you guys did. I imagine doing it one day, but not at this time. Thanks for letting me take the trip vicariously through the efforts of the whole crew!
Fantastic video Nate! You did a great job condensing that marathon of an adventure down to just over an hour. Thanks to David, Kelly, Arron, and Kris as well for an unforgettable journey and for putting your vehicles to the test. Good parts on your rig go a long way! We can't wait to see how this inspires others to go experience all the incredible places your vehicle can take you🤘
Glad to spend time among some of my favorite people. Thank y'all for continuing to support this offroad and adventure community. Powerstop is a leader among its peers.
And for those of us that have older rigs, with proper care, we can do this also.. thank you Nate and friends for all the fun you had and showing us the way.. for me, Mojave road and East Mojave Heritage trail until I get back to the PNW..
A friend ran across this video and emailed me about it. Epic! I was actually attempting to do a solo drive of ORBDR section 5 the same day you were doing that section. Luck had me run across you guys twice on your trip. Both times, I was turning around because of the depth of snow I was seeing. My vehicle was a white F350 superduty. Now that I see what you guys encountered, I think I made the right decision. Maybe someday I will have the skills and experience to accomplish what you all did. That your suburban made it, tells me I am the limiting factor, not my vehicle! Glad you guys ultimately were successful and congrats on overcoming all the natural and mechanical obstacles that occurred during your trip. Best of luck on your next adventure! Hope to see you on the trails again some day!
Detroit Oregon is one of my favorite off the beaten path locations in Oregon. It was sad when the fire destroyed most of the town. There is a beautiful river spot near there called three pools, so beautiful, but I believe the fire also affected the pools as well.
... what a fantastic Off Road video ... everybody into offroading needs to see this. Congratulations to Nate and friends ... what an exciting adventure !!!!!!
I have just recently purchased a Jeep JKU for this very purpose. It will need some serious upgrades but I’m committed to get it done. I have wheeled all over the ozarks and the trips you guys are doing are amazing. I’m torn because I also have a K30 Suburban. This for me is a fine line of weight vs horsepower. I have followed your channel for years ever since the Bleepin Jeep days. I stumbled across Dave’s channel when I started my Suburban path. I think you guys make a great team. Love the videos and the inspiration. Thanks Nate keep up the great work!!!
As an Oregonian I was happy to click this and happier after watching it all. Great video, I'd love to do that trail some day. Ill see y'all next year for the next big trip!
For the bumper that broke, it was mentioned that the bolts were welded on, tuning them into studs. It is possible that is the root cause of the issue. Many bolts do come with a heat treatment to give them their grade (strength) and welding temps will destroy almost every heat treat, reducing the strength of the bolt to almost nothing. (Grade 1)
I can’t imagine the amount of work it would have taken to make this masterpiece of a video. Phenomenal work. I may be highly jealous of the editors skills. Wow
Great job. Looks like a great way to spend time with good friends. You did a good job showing the beautiful areas you wheeled through. As always you have the best content and show it well. Thank you all.
A couple buddies and I are planning on starting an annual BDR trip amongst our friend group. Can't wait. This video much like your other wheeling/adventure ones was amazing. Looked like a blast. Hope Kelly gets his frame fixed soon!
What a great video!!! Truly loved seeing a bunch of good friends have an amazing time without being idiots / clowns. I’m inspired to spend some good time with my buddies outdoors. Thanks for making this.
Nate, you are an incredible story teller. This video seemed like it was 10 minutes long. All of the beautiful scenery, the obvious friendship between you all, it is just amazing. Well done everyone.
This was an amazing video, started it and couldn’t stop. Not an extreme off road guy but gives me the itch to plan something similar. Go with a couple friends and our boys, would be an amazing adventure!
The ending when going down the hill when the s10 is on the verge of total collapse everyone came together put a plan in place and got everyone and everything down and thats what these trips are all about if you ask me..
Thanks for taking us along ! Night trek through snow? not often found on film - difficult I would imagine to record AND navigate. Sooo much glorious scenery, men being men civilly of course... lovin your trip and missing the northwest mountains.
This was a great video to hang out and watch on this rainy Sunday in Oregon, thanks for the production. Definitely motivating me to get my Raptor off road worthy (winch & front locker) soon for some epic trail riding like this.
Just an absolutely epic episode Nate, You're editing skills are crushing it! What Great work from everyone. What an amazing group of guys! The absolute soulfulness of this trip hit me right in the feelers. A+ Happy Father's Day Fellas!
I’ve camped many nights at that clearing campsite near Detroit. So glad it didn’t burn in the 2020 fires. I was worried about it until the area opened back up. Glad you were able to enjoy it!
My brother and I have done the Arizona and Colorado BDRs along with four of our friends. We had my Jeep YJ, with our home built off road trailer, a Sprinter Sportsmobile , and my brother and 3 other friends on dual-sport bikes. I wish I could post pictures in this comment section, but let’s just say that the trips were epic. And yes the Sportsmobile made it the whole way on both trips. Ophir pass was the beginning of some of the most clenching shelf roads I have been on, but some of the trails were a lot tougher. Thanks for sharing this Nate . That was awesome.
Wow! I've been a big fan for a few years now, your videos just get better and better, but this is next level. What an amazing adventure, and with the excellent editing, music & cinematography, I enjoyed every second of it. I also really like your message about people helping people at around 1:08, that really needs to be said more.
Loving the Suburban! That thing is sick, such a cool build but super heavy im sure. Great content and trail clearing. Good job guys thank you for such a long video! ❤
Awesome video! Thanks for putting your message out there about being a good steward to the land. I used to wheel in AZ....("phoenix area").... There was a man made fire that spread over countless acres and toasted everything. Everything was destroyed for tens of miles in all directions. It was very sad to see. It went from a beautiful desert with saguaro cactus, to a burnt waste land.
Such a cool video! I was born and raised in Oregon and have been all over that state, it’s such a unique state cause it has every terrain, land feature, and scenery you can think of. The deserts of Oregon is by far my favorite place. I used to live in Fort Rock Oregon which is just north west of Christmas valley about 35 miles and that is by far the coolest place I’ve ever lived. So many trails out there and miles and miles of nothingness. When you guys got to CV I got a huge smile on my face and was so thrilled you got to check out that area. This is the first video of yours I’ve watched and look forward to the next! I recently bought a 2014 jku I’m building and cannot wait to take it on some trails soon. Thanks for sharing this awesome adventure, safe travels always, and keep the shiny side up!💪
I don't have a truck, but this video sure was fun to watch. Makes me want to get a truck and tackle some trails with some guys that are also a little adventurous! Thanx for sharing this video! Keep up the good work!
What a good upload! Good content and editing as usual! A good time with good friends is hard to beat! Even if there is a little back breaking work involved, it’s worth it! This video is some serious motivation to get my project done! I like how you made sure to remind everyone to be good stewards to the environment. Cause if we’re not, trails like these will be closed down!
Oregon is such a pretty state. I'm from Australia where the 4x4 community is very, very large and very, very different. Interesting to see other nations experiences in the 4x4 world. great video!
Great video and a great trip. I noticed no real snorkels for the dust management as I know most people don’t think they need one up until they do a trip like yours with multiple people on dusty roads. Definitely helps with filter life and sadly a mod that most people like to make fun of while not understanding what they do. Wish yah luck on the onX off-road build, great choice of rig.
We call the end slices the heel. For 70 years we've called them the heel, In fact, this is the first time i've ever heard anyone call them the butt end of the loaf.
This was an awesome video! You guys really fought hard for this one! I used to live in the Pacific Northwest for 10 years. I had to move away to the Midwest. I miss the PNW every day. Such amazing country. How do you find friends like these to adventure with? No one I know is even remotely interested in these kinds of trips, and I’m the only person I know who even has a Jeep! Needless to say everything I do is solo, which severely limits where I go.
Its videos like these and Nates commentary that make me love that dude even more, ya we're watching his videos, but his ultimate and very passionate message was, stop watching me, call your friends and go do this yourself, thats whats important. Awesome job Nate, planning trip right now!
Just finished working on my storage drawer platform for the 4th Gen. Came in to eat some dinner and my son says yeah, Nate just dropped a video. Dinner and a movie with my son. 👍🏻Happy Fathers Day.
@@MuddyBeards4X4 My first vehicle was a 88 S10 Blazer, that I still have and it could use some updating. Still on IFS but with 4" suspension lift and 2" body lift on 33s. That's why the S10 isn't top of the list. Everything that I would do to it, I probably already want to do to the Blazer. Top of the list is a first gen Ford Explorer Sport Trac. Seems like a super solid platform and the front suspension is shared with the Ranger, so there is support there and I've always wanted some long travel. I have a build all planned out, I just don't have room and can't decide if that money would be better spent on my 97 Powerstroke. A long travel TTB kit is calling my name. There's just too many options! 😂
Lightning fires are a natural occurrence. It’s nature’s way of cleaning and clearing undergrowth and cleansing the soil. In 5 years it will be a beautiful landscape and starting of a forest again. I’ve seen it happen before here in the North Carolina mountains. Love all the videos, prayers for you and your family.
Amazing video, fellas. Love seeing the builds, you guys maintaining the woods and the trails, and tackling those obstacles. I grew up in the PNW mountains and I know how that snow gets in the spring! Even with awesome beadlocks and lockers you still gotta WORK to get through.
I've got a SAS 2000 Denali that has a 4L60. I rarely run in 4th gear unless I'm on really flat ground because of the transmission shifting between 4th & 3rd along with the torque converter locking/unlocking in 4th. I' built the truck about 9 years ago and have put roughly 50,000 miles on it with no tranny issues (knock on wood). I hope he gets his tranny issues lined out...love that big square body.
Fantastic video, fantastic trip! 🤙 It's nice to see that you stay on the paths, make them continuous again and thus no nature is destroyed. Top. 👍 Best regards from Germany.
I am also an electric saw convert. I use my gas saw at home but when I go out on trails, the electric saw is king because I don’t need to carry gas for it. The truth is, we need both and they both have their place
On the off camber stuff you’d be amazed how much help throwing a tow strap on a high point of the uphill side and have a guy or 2 standing uphill just pulling on it, it truly helps a lot.
This was beautifully done. The cinematography, the narration as well as showing everyone the natural beauty of our nation as well as touching on the generosity of mankind. Thank you.
Great job, the trip alone is an extraordinary accomplishment, but the filming and production of the video of the trip while doing it blows my mind. Awesome job !
Fun part of snow wheeling in those conditions - if someone had followed your track the next day they would have said "what did they struggle with?" break the crust, the snow melts below very, very quickly.... fun stuff, can't believe how much of that route I've run at various points of my life (used to live near Portland)
I'm tellin ya... CTIS is such an underrated feature. Air up, air down, air up, down up down... as many times you want.... all you gotta do is flip a switch. Great video Nate
What an amazing video! Section 6 starts about 15 mins from my house! I'm definitely going to have to do at least that one this year. Thank you so much for sharing this. ❤️
Thanks for sharing every aspect of this adventure that you chose to include. Truly inspirational. Definitely going to get outside with the lads. Again, thank you.
I just went through every bit of tools I've got and small parts this past week. Incredibly happy with the new Ridgid Gen 2.0 system. They are not as robust as the Milwaukee Packouts but they are stronger, less costly and perfect for my needs. I made additional dividers out of bamboo cutting boards and am not looking back. Removable dolly, drawer boxes got my vote. Being able to use some of my old Ridgid 1.0 organizers and power tool boxes is a plus. Latches together very well. Will be using these for the next 10+ years. Thanks for making a video!
Another epic adventure. I love your advice, stop making excuses and get out there and live. “Tomorrow” never comes for so many. I look forward to watching your next adventure (and going out on my own…).
@ 2:23 luckily for the suburban it was mostly down hill from north to south haha...... That's how that works righr? Haha. Nice video anyone that sees this silly comment have a good day.
Clicked on it and saw over an hour video…. Immediately cast it to the living room tv and kicked the family out. Lol time for a beer and a movie. Happy father day everyone.
Yes dude lol this makes me so happy 😂
Dude, literally same.
Same! Except kicked the dog outside and grabbed a red bull 🤙🏻
I turned it on my tv with my family. Loved my kids watching this with me. Happy father's day.
I always cast natt's vids on my tv also. beer and snacks in hand so epic!
Thanks for clearing the trees! We ended up running part of the route south of Mt Hood today.
We didn’t need our saws once.
You rarely get to thank the people who cut the trail for you!
You are so right in telling and reminding our fellow citizens that we need to take care of our forests.
It's important 🙌
That goes for the Feds too. I would bet that burned stand of tightly spaced pecker poles was on Federal land. On the bright side, we won't have to worry about it burning again this year.
I leave my trash everywhere what’s the problem
Yup, and bringing back logging, and replant, so we're not building endless amounts of fuel, is the key!
Unforgettable adventure with still greater people. It's always worth the drive from TX to hang with y'all in the PNW.
Thanks for making the trip my friend 🙌. We will keep getting closer to you 😁
Love the suburban man.
Awesome getting to wheel with the suburban, and you…😂

the s10 is awesome. Chevrolet all day
This, hands down, is the most entertaining off-road video I have watched in a very long time. Bravo!
Great video and a great trip. I noticed no real snorkels for the dust management as I know most people don’t think they need one up until they do a trip like yours with multiple people on dusty roads. Definitely helps with filter life and sadly a mod that most people like to make fun of while not understanding what they do. Wish yah luck on the onX off-road build, great choice of rig.
that flooded trail crossing was absolutely great, true adventure.
Another banger Nate! Im with david on the all butt bread loaves its the best slice!😅
Lol, I'm told they are called heels... we always called them butts 😎.
@@DirtLifestyle only sissies call them heels, around here they’re butts😂
@@DirtLifestyle Butts > Heels
I'm definitely a butt man as well
We call the end slices the heel. For 70 years we've called them the heel, In fact, this is the first time i've ever heard anyone call them the butt end of the loaf.
Absolutely something that I would love to do!!!! I agree, people do not appreciate the beauty of what is Mother Nature enough.
The scenery and cinematography is this is absolutely stunning. Great job! Loved every minute.
Just finished working on my storage drawer platform for the 4th Gen. Came in to eat some dinner and my son says yeah, Nate just dropped a video. Dinner and a movie with my son. 👍🏻Happy Fathers Day.
The front and rear of a bread loaf is called the heel. 🤷🏽♂️
Also known as a heel, lol. Not sure why I forgot.
I love that S10. I'm wanting to build a 4-door small pickup, and a 4 door S10 is probably second on the list of vehicles that I'd consider.
Thanks, the S10 is a great platform to start with, as long as you can find a clean one. What’s your #1 choice then?
No it won’t. These forests were destroyed because of years of poor management.
Tearing into the 4L80 today!
Fantastic video, fantastic trip! 🤙
It's nice to see that you stay on the paths, make them continuous again and thus no nature is destroyed. Top. 👍
Best regards from Germany.
I am also an electric saw convert. I use my gas saw at home but when I go out on trails, the electric saw is king because I don’t need to carry gas for it. The truth is, we need both and they both have their place
we get to share in some of the joy y'all had out there. thanks for getting after such an adventure. Oregon is amazing but nothing goes to plan.
Absolutely EPIC video!! Thank you so much for bringing everyone along!!!
Thank you 🙌
On the off camber stuff you’d be amazed how much help throwing a tow strap on a high point of the uphill side and have a guy or 2 standing uphill just pulling on it, it truly helps a lot.
This is one of the best videos you've ever made Nate! It makes me want to move to Oregon.
This was beautifully done. The cinematography, the narration as well as showing everyone the natural beauty of our nation as well as touching on the generosity of mankind. Thank you.
Started this on Father's Day and finished it 7 days later . That's fatherhood for ya!! Sick video 🤘🏽🤘🏽
I have never seen so much wilderness in a single video. Love you guys!
I'm tellin ya... CTIS is such an underrated feature. Air up, air down, air up, down up down... as many times you want.... all you gotta do is flip a switch. Great video Nate
I agree! One day, I want a system like that.
What an amazing video! Section 6 starts about 15 mins from my house! I'm definitely going to have to do at least that one this year. Thank you so much for sharing this. ❤️
Just finished my harbor freight camper trailer and this is the perfect inspiration to take it out again. Loving the video!
Get out there! I plan on bringing my HF trailer on the next BDR trip 🤘
Thanks for sharing every aspect of this adventure that you chose to include. Truly inspirational. Definitely going to get outside with the lads. Again, thank you.
Fantastic adventure and video. Better than anything I've seen on network tv. T hank you!!
The production level and quality of this feels like I’m watching top gear USA which was one of my favorite shows growing up. Awesome job, seriously
Fantastic as always. Glad Kelly’s vehicle made it!
Another epic adventure. I love your advice, stop making excuses and get out there and live. “Tomorrow” never comes for so many. I look forward to watching your next adventure (and going out on my own…).
Thank you for showcasing Detroit. That burger joint is fantastic and the owners of the market are amazing people.
Come do the oracle control road on the backside of Mount Lemmon when you make it to southern AZ!
Also gotta check out peppersauce cave when you do that. I used to go there all the time when I was in high-school
@ 2:23 luckily for the suburban it was mostly down hill from north to south haha...... That's how that works righr? Haha. Nice video anyone that sees this silly comment have a good day.
You have a good day, too.
Lol
