    I can't believe people are blaming Chad. Chad rushed to get the wrecker ready in times for the games. It's a testament to Chad's near OCD level of organization that given the time constraints that the entire harness doesn't need to be scrapped and started new. To just be chasing small gremlins is a huge win for the job Chad was asked to do.

    • @joshuafeagle7009
      @joshuafeagle7009 9 місяців тому +73

      Considering he didn’t even have time to even field test his fabrications after design,build and install the small gremlins they are chasing should be considered a miracle.

    • @Avi8tor857
      @Avi8tor857 9 місяців тому +65

      If you blame Chad you probably have never built a car's wiring harness from scratch in your life, or your project is still in the garage waiting to be perfect, everyone else gets it good enough and then field fixes what they find later.

    I was once "rescued" in my '74 GMC Jimmy by a buddy with a "borrowed" logging skidder. Why does the Wrecker remind me of that day? Mostly because it comes across as unstoppable. The articulation combined with the rear steering, the tires and the power make the Wrecker an awesome offroad recovery vehicle. The combination of winches beats a logging skidder hands down.

      He's no electrical genius, the dude has the electrical sense of a Pepsi can. Let's not get this twisted. The dude might have been able to do it, but it's not done well. 6 weeks is plenty of time to wire up a vehicle. He's slow and inefficient. Just because he's on UA-cam doesn't make him good, let's leave credit to our electrical boys where it belongs. We're only seeing the problems that Matt and crew feel like sharing with us, not the entire story, and after seeing what he did, it's not great. I'm all for giving credit where it's due, but Chad aint it. Good on Matt for supporting his team though, it's good to see.

    It's amazing that you have been able to build an offroad wrecker from the bottom and a white piece of paper like this. The rig is incredible and an impressiv construction. A construction that should be fantastic good also in other situations and other industries. Just think of one simple thing, tractors used on bad roads or paved roads. The problem often is that a rig is good on the fields or offroad, but not so good on different types of roads. Some will maybe be angry with me, but I have never seen a rig like this one. I'm bowing my disabled old body in the dust because I'm madly impressed. Congratulations to Matt, Tom and all the rest of the team. Definitely better for a kid than having their nose burried in a screen playing games all day most my kids have automotive related careers a couple went the fabrication/welding route 1 works for the co-op and my oldest boy is now the DON (director of nursing) at the nursing home he worked in the kitchen throughout high school and while they paid for his CNA classes he just keeps taking the next step everytime he gains a new title (he's the youngest and first male DON they've ever had) and on top of working long hrs for a living they've all bought into the family farm we call a hobby and somehow we all find time to work in our 25 acre garden so we don't buy much food at the store and I take fruits vegetables eggs and honey to the farmers markets around the area we use that money to feed the yard birds slaughter steers and hogs and our guard dogs that run the first 300 acres I purchased myself (my kids all got 10 acres along side mine overlooking the river to build their house into the hill for a copy of their high school diploma I could hang in my family room) they all grew up in my shop now they have their own shops next to my salvage and towing yard the 10 acre bribe for a diploma began with my oldest daughter and set of twins who were going to drop out of school to take care of me and the farm when I was all messed up in a wreck and couldn't work they all ended up going to trade school and I helped them build and start their own shops and they're all taking a college buissnes course to learn the bookwork side of it anyway before I got distracted my point was it's good to see kids with a good work ethic still instead of glued to a screen

    The way you pulled that out is how cable skidders pull wood. They will kick the winch into free spool. Then Climb over the obstacle then pull then wood back into them.

    The last three videos of the Wrecker makes it apparent why you put in the rear steer. Without that your job would not have been very possible. Also good to see the dedication of your 'camera crew'. Mud, rain, dust sand...whatever, they are there to document everything going on.
    BTW - Still miss seeing Lizzy on your recoveries. Hope she is doing great with her ranch life.

    Matt - those mud tires don't work if they arent spinning fast enough to clear the treads. Put the pedal to the floor and let the mud fly. You can see that they just held onto the mud and turned into slicks.

    • @tramvaj12
      @tramvaj12 9 місяців тому +7

      Yeah, but you can use mud just as sherp. Swim through it. If you eject all the mud it will lay on the axels.

    • @ParkerUAS
      @ParkerUAS 9 місяців тому +13

      @@tramvaj12 Exactly, you have to have a good idea of what is under your layer of mud. If it is is harder below it, then sure spin out if you think you won't bottom out. However, in a situation like this where you are on a river that just flooded, there is no guarantee there is a reachable bottom and you could wind up stuck. Sticking the "World's Largest Off-road Recovery Vehicle" means there aren't really many things that will be getting you out.

Jaymie is so awesome she loves that big wrecker and so do we! Rhett, Colby, and Tom did a good job assisting with this recovery too. Good recovery video Moor team! Love seeing you stop at Fab Rats and checking out the new shop and trailer turnaround spot. Always good to see Paul, Ben, Hunter and the team there.

      I hope my guess is right on the next build and those monster military axles TomTom got awhile back go under that C65 Matt picked up and the worlds largest off-road rollback gets built to complete their growing fleet of off-road recovery vehicles and I agree with the cancer sucks sticker I have them stickers made in 6 inch pink letters for all my vehicles and 2 inch for my tractors combines and all other motorized farm equipment we get it's the first modification I make in memory of all family and friends lost to that misery

    The wrecker will always be a 'work in progress' vehicle, but it's impressive what it can do now. As all the bugs get worked out of it, that thing will only get better. I also appreciate that Matt knows his/it's limitations. He knows it's not unstoppable so he figures out the best way around what would stop someone who just charges on.

When there's shots of you driving (and not talking), we see the trail, the trucks, the wheels, the mud, the water... but so many times I was thinking "AIM THE CAMERA UP!". Dear Matt and Tom, I think both of you are really what we in Norway would call solid wood (solid people). You dont blame others or each others for your own mistakes. Of course its importent with a light tone where you can joke and correct each others in a friendly way. And then you really are compleeting each other in a nice and friendly way. Its easy to see that you respekt each other, and you are looking like good friends. All of you are really looking like a good team where we never have seen anybody been nasty or bad to someone. Of course bad situations can arise in any organisasjon, but the pleasant tone indicates good cohesion in all the team. All of you are really good role models. Its too much fake and people thinking its tough to be really bad and ugly with other people. Therefore I'm glad so many are looking at your videos. Best Regards Arne Gerhardsen.
