i think (??? im entirely guessing) it's because the one picture of biden with obama in that spread is on the "N" of BIDEN... and the "N" is on Obama... who is a black man... so i guess the humor is that they could have put that picture on any of the other squares but, as is, there's the unwanted association of a word that starts with the letter N and black people. Yeah, maybe someone could have caught it, but there's a 99% chance that whoever set that up just wasnt thinking like that.

I feel like the worst part, though, is that this doesn't feel that different from the way Dhar Mann looks at the world: You should be nice about ____ because the person might turn out to be rich/president/your boss someday. Except this one adds on the idea that a parent should try to take care of a kid despite absolutely terrible circumstances. Jordan is right. It feels so weirdly creepy and sinister

I’m sick of this whole “Family’s all you have! You don’t choose your family!” ideology in media. This kind of message is what led me to accept abusive behavior from those closest to me when I was a kid, and why it took me so long to finally get those people out of my life when I was finally an adult.
At the end of the day; it doesn’t matter who they are. They don’t have a right to mistreat you, and they don’t have a right to be in your life after they’ve done so. Also, having to give up a child isn’t a bad thing. I wish my dad would’ve left me out of his life instead of forcing me to be in it, seeing how he never really wanted me there in the first place.

growing up in the social services system is terrifying and cruel but having no knowledge of what her life was like when her son was born, it easily couldve been a kindness to put him up for adoption. clearly, he had a good enough life to become president, which is far better than the chance he couldve had his mother be so neglectful that he mightve died etc - we have no idea if she was homeless or suffering from addiction etc... this idea of keep family together no matter what can do more harm than good (obviously not universally applicable)

Also, finding out about unknown biological family members at such a late stage in life, while it can sometimes be enlightening, can also be traumatic.

Likw, I haven't gotten to why she did it yet but there was a other video about abandoning your kid and the lady was literally struggling to feed them both and it was framed that true kid was predestined to become successful. The fa CT that a stable family took them in and could provide for the child in a way the birth mother obviously couldn't was just completely ignored, of course and I don't get that.
