I’m a huge Irish whiskey lover. I have about every bottle you can get your hands on without going into the second hand market and i refuse to pay those secondary prices. But for a 55 dollar bottle of Irish whiskey. RedBreast 12 is the top of the totem pole for me. Bourbons are fine. But Irish whiskey is the gasoline you need to drive through the pearly gates. Love the channel. Keep it up brother.
Agreed
It's fantastic, plus the lustave and 15 aren't too much more if you wanna splurge a little
How in hell are you getting it for $55? Even online I’m seeing $80
$75 minimum around me😢
Just got into Bushmills. Thought I found something with the Proper Twelve but the fifth tastes a lot lower quality than the pint I had the other day so maybe I'll give this a try next time
Jameson black barrel is really good, especially for the value. It feels like a good crossover for bourbon drinkers
I did not notice you commented that I just commented the same right above you it’s a 16 year old Irish whiskey, aged for an extra eight years and bourbon in charred barrels. It’s one of my top favorite.
Jameson Black Barrel is great!
Agreed. Normal Jameson is too generic for me but the black barrel has a lot of interesting notes
Had it ,it's really good
That's redbreast px not 12
Red breast 12 is my go to Irish whiskey. However, I recently purchased redbreast cask strength, and it is at even a higher level. 🥃👍🏻
Green spot is where it's at. There's a whole line up of different "spots". but I enjoy green and have switched hard core red breast guys to green spot.
Yellow is superior imo
If you find you a bottle of Redbreast Kentucky Oaked, pick it up. It's a very good pour.
Try Yellow Spot. My favorite Irish whiskey by far.
You need to try limavady! Single malt irish whiskey aged in used bourbon barrels and sherry casks its phenomenal!
Yes this stuff is top tier. I don’t drink often but I buy a bottle of this every few months it is very good for an Irish whiskey. I am more of a bourbon or brandy guy but still this stuff is great.
I enjoy a Bushmills Single Barrel or a RedBreast 12 from time to time
Teeling single grain is probably my favorite Irish whiskey. Give it a try!
That is a good one.
Jameson Black Barrel is good too 👍
The Tamnavulin Red Wine Cask edition always brightens my mood. Fantastic stuff.
Jameson Black Barrel is pretty good
Just got a bottle of redbreast 12 as a gift. By far the best I’ve had yet!
Jameson crested is so damn good. Definitely worth the $80 to ship from Ireland to the US
Writers tears is a fun simple copper pot Irish whiskey. You started well with the red breast.
You should Bushmills 10 year old single malt. Delicious
Powers
No age statement on the px, aged in bourbon and sherry cask. It's pretty good, 12 is great, 15 is amazing.
You’ve hit on one of the best. I like the 15 even better - higher proof & even smoother. The “spots” are terrific as well, and I’m off too browse thru your collection of videos to see what other Irish whiskeys you’ve reviewed!
Great choice. Redbreast is my favorite along with bushmills 10 &12.
There is also the experimental brand that the Middleton distillery has called method and madness range from 80 to 120 they got 3 different bottles great for going deeper into Irish whiskey
I've a bottle of the M&M single grain. Very drinkable with lovely citrusy flavours with a hint of shortbread and spices. Definitely a good intro to less mainstream Irish whiskey. At around $50 it's not going to break the bank either.
Bushmills, dubliners and teeling are great irsh whiskeys
Irish, Scots and Americans fighting over Whiskey, Whisky or Bourbon. As a Scot I have my bias
Red breast is the only Irish whisky I like. Super good.
agreed it was good
A friend of mine brought this to a bonfire/jam session that we hosted and god-dayum....that bottle didn't last long.
For shots, my go to is Tully.... Can't go wrong!
You had me at Redbreast. Never been an Irish whiskey lover but I would try that.
For anyone who’s a fan of the Jameson Black Barrel, they brought out a 50%ABV version 18 months ago! Called Barrel Proof.
You should definitely go full beans and get the 21 year old if it’s available in the states it’s the best whiskey I have ever had
So far I’ve found Greenspot to be a nice drink. You should definitely give it a try
Redbreast is my fav Irish whiskey. Definitely took a price hike some years ago
As a total Bourbon and Rye guy, I will say, Redbreast 27 is totally BTAC/Pappy good. No joke.
Totally agree
Should try jamesons black barrel their premium product
Love Red Breast! The 18 is even better! Alot better!
@Brewzle I'd suggest Green Spot. One of the best Pot Still Irish Whiskies out there for the price.
Lost Irish, just got it today love it, it's aged in 6 different casks for 6 different continents
I need to try this 😮
A friend gave me a bottle of this for my birthday one year. A good friend.
Red breast is by far my favorite whiskey, period. So smooth and beautiful flavors! You don't find it everywhere, but not too hard to find.
Trying this one tonight!
I got white chocolate and malt balls like Whoppers. Amazing whisky.
Redbreast 12 is my daily. I keep a bottle of 21 just to casually sip, it's hands down the absolute best. Have yet to try the 27yr.
20 year old here. About 1 year away from tastings, and I’m excited to get into it.
Midleton Very Rare is phenomenal. Anything carrying that name is superb. 10/10 Irish
Quiet Man is good for me .. the one I got was under $50 ...really smooth and mild
Middleton very rare - if you can swing it!
Malt guys (like myself) are going to shout GREEN SPOT at you. But as a bourbon guy you might actually just prefer Jameson Black Barrell or Teeling small batch.
Irish potstill, is big, bold, buttery, beautiful fruity flavours with some mellow fudge while being very, very approachable. Something about triple distilling, some unmalted barley and the cuts done just leaves this profile that's less polarizing than Single malts (yeah, also the unpeated). If you want to preserve those fruits and complexity you want the Irish young. If you just want 'smoothness' and less complexity, go older. Green Spot is all about green apple, coconut, buttery cookies and toffee. I absolutely love it, and because it is a younger whisky it has this strange balance between being extremely friendly while still having complexity. The living proof IMHO that complexity doesn't have to mean polarizing.
Had that redbreast at an irish pub last year and Im a huge fan. So smooth and the fruity notes hit just right.I used tousually jusut drink the tulle 12 year as my go to irish but the red breast changed that.
Green Spot is amazing too. Writers Tears is a good choice too
I always loved Kilbeggan and Paddy. So I recommend those
Red Breast 12 is our absolute favorite. Me and all the fellas always buy it for eachother on our birthdays. Great choice!
Maybe give Tullamore Dew 12 and Green Spot a try
A couple of my personal favs
Bushmills is my favorite. Their steamship sherry cask reserve is fantastic if you can find it
I agree. For such a cheap price it's a great whisky!
Bushmills black bush is my favorite.
I agree that is good
Red Spot is definitely my favorite!
The Whistler Marsala cask is on of my new favorites and is getting me into whiskey. It’s not expensive and I can handle the vanilla note.
Absolutely my favorite bottle especially at the price point
My friend had a bottle of Kavanagh that I very much enjoyed. It was the regular release, but I recall seeing fancy releases from them on store shelves.
My dad got it as a gift and I could never buy it for myself, but redbreast 27 is the single best glass of whiskey I’ve ever had. It almost tastes like it’s infused with apricots and honeysuckle.
Jameson stout addition is a must try for cheap..
You can't go wrong with anything from Tyrconell. My family has a friend who's off the boat Irish, and it's his favorite company. He's got us all drinking it.
Thanks I will add this to my wish list. Always looking for the best other whiskeys to add to my bourbon collection.
Have you tried any Japanese whiskeys yet? Hibiki Harmony is excellent if you can find it!
Redbreast is amazing. The Spots are pretty good too. Redbreast 12 cask is hands down the best that I've had so far
Jameson 12 0r 18 year old. No regrets when I tried it
Never had Redbreast. I might have to get a bottle to add to the collection!
You should try laphroaig and johnny walker blue label , Cardhu , Dimple and Glenfiddich. They are quite amazing. Laphroaig is very smokey , blue label is very smooth , and the rest are very rich in flavour with special notes of ingredients!
The cask strength version is the GOAT.
Redbreast is my go to for Irish whiskey. And every st.pattys day I have some.
If you like this redbreast PX finish and the standard 12 year the 12yr cask strength will knock your socks off. It’s amazing.
Like yourself, I don’t drink a lot of Irish whisky (mostly bourbon rye and scotch) but I ALWAYS have a bottle of redbreast 12 year CS *chefs kiss*
I'm from Ireland and would recommend 'tullamore dew' or 'killbeggan' . Redbreast 12 as described is pretty good too😁🤯😁
Tully is the best bottle of whiskey you can find for under 30 bucks in the US. Really like Teeling small batch as well
I like the spots. I have red, yellow, green, and gold spot.
Bushmills Red delicious for $27 a bottle and add to your infinity bottle w/ regular Jim Beam. Awesome flavor very inexpensive 👍🏻
FYI, I don't think Redbreast PX carries an age statement, so it's not necessarily 12 years old. But I've heard great things! As for Irish recommendations, I bet you'd love Redbreast Cask Strength, or maybe Powers John's Lane, or if you come across the new Gold Spot at a reasonable price. Or if you're feeling spendy, Midleton Very Rare is stunning!
I collect and love redbreast like a maniac, best whiskey i ever had was RB27 batch 1
Redbreast is the "Pappy" of Irish whiskey. Try the Redbreast lustau.
Awesome bottle.
Huge fan of Powers three swallows, or any of their line. It’s worth a try.
I love Redbreast Lustao - it’s finished in sherry so all the floral sweetness notes come out more. It’s great and I’m more of a smoky scotch laphroaig type
I enjoy the Redbreast 12 and would recommend the Tullamore D.E.W 12 year. That triple distillation is where it's at.
I e had my eye on that bottle for a while, just haven’t pulled the trigger. When I go with the Irish, I usually go with Tullamore Dew and I enjoy it quite a bit. Thanks for the review.
Cheap option here, I really like the Powers Three Swallows
Redbrest 21 amazing 😮 Middleton very rare now them 2 are hands down amazing I am a bar manger btw
Yes, Redbreast is delicious!
Try the cask strength 12 year. Definitely worth it. But that price.
Thank you for the suggestion!
You should try Middleton Irish Whiskey. They have very expensive super top quality whiskies, but you can also try the more affordable bottles.
Thanks for the review I will purchase this now it's available in my Whisky Club 🥃🥃
You need the redbreast finished in bourbon barrel! Blue box…. Good juice!
Fighting Irish is a great choice
Greenspot
Red breast cask strength and green spot are great. Yellow spot is amazing if you can find it and it’s got that sherry cask flavor profile I’ve heard you enjoy
As an Irish man, try powers or paddy if you want cheaper options
Green spot is worth a try. And powers gold label
I’am a bourbon drinker but the best of all is middleton’s Irish whiskey 🥃 I would only drink that if I could afford it 😊
Jamesons 18 if your feeling frisky at the store…. Otherwise, the Red Breast 12 year Cask Strength!! The Cask Strength isn’t finished, but it’s good!
Green Spot, Blue Spot, or RedBreast Cask Strength. Can’t go wrong with either of those 3.
Bushmills black is onr you should definitely try.
Not sure if its classed as mainstream, but I enjoy Teelings single malt /small batch Irish whisky
Bush mills 12 yr old done in a sherry cask was my best followed by the millennium
The Jameson bow street is also very good. Tho expensive.
It was my go to Irish until I stumbled across Power’s John’s Lane 12 Year Special Release… imagine Redbreast but turned up to 12🥃
