Was just recording a new video on my M50 today and I love it so much. Everyone who says it's bad because of the materials it's made of must not remember that most people have never held a 5000$ camera. Everything else it awesome! I love it
I'm a supposedly retired 'ex' pro photographer, and the M50 is now my main camera. Although I DO have the 15-45 mm lens that came with the body, my main lenses are L Series, which work like a dream with the adaptor. I actually find that Sigma lenses focus more accurately on the mirrorless than they ever did on my DSLRs, which is a bonus that nobody seems to mention. Keep up the good work!
With a Canon EOS M50 and a few M-lenses, a Canon G7XII and a Yi4K together with a Zhiyun Crane M, a Zhiyun Smooth Q, a mini slider, a great travel tripod, a DJI Mavic Air, a few ND-filters for each unit and a bunch of charged batteries you really are good to go for any kind of filming situation and you can literally carry it with you in a backpack! These times are great for hobby filmmakers! ❤👍
You can customize some of the buttons... if you actually go through the entirety of the menus, you would discover this. I did a lot of research prior to making my first camera purchase. I did purchase a Canon M50 (it should be here Tuesday from B&H). My reasoning was because: 1) The photography field is moving into mirrorless and the M50 would let me learn on a mirrorless 2) I knew I wanted to acquire Canon lenses over time, so I purchased an adapter as well to be able to buy more than just M lenses 3) I knew I would eventually upgrade but wanted to have a solid "travel camera" and the M50 fit that description 4) I didn't want an initial HUGE investment because I wasn't sure what other mirrorless cameras would be coming out 5) The articulating screen is actually great for traveling because you can flip it and won't damage the screen while it's in the bag!
The M50 does everything I need. If they add in DPAF to 4K 60. Maybe lessen the crop. It will be a beast. Maybe 120 fps with at 1080p. Okay I’m know I’m reaching. Or a Fuji XT3 with a flip screen 😒
I got one! I’ve wanted to get into aps-c and better auto focus that my Panasonic for a while now. Dual pixel is the best there is. You gushed so much about this camera this year and I’m such a huge fan of yours, I grabbed one. $600 with a kit lens, adaptable to nearly full frame performance, it’s a no-brained. I bought a dummy battery to try and power it from a power bank. I may film a review once I test it out. I don’t see anybody trying that on UA-cam. Another great video TEDD! Thanks again!
I did buy it!!!!! I just need to get my UA-cam settings just right... PS: Don't use the Technicolor Cinestyle profile. It looks to soft and someone told me it records at a lower bit rate or something. I would love to see someone sit down and make a video on the best settings and how to pimp the video in post (in imovie preferred lol).
At 5:20 when outside switching to the M50, the skin tones on it do seem a lot better than the tripod camera; both seem overexposed but Canon less green in the face and less clipped, at least viewing on an iPad.
Your state perspective at the beginning of all your videos exactly matches up with mine. I am apparently one of your niche audience members and I'm glad to be here.
I've got the m50 paired with a 10-18 for vlogging even in 4k, a 17-50 2.8 and a 70-200 2.8 which i use with the speedbooster so i can get a stop brighter. All this at a crazy low cost!
I have been a Nikon user since i was 10, 30+ years, Bought the canon M50 2 months ago, & 2 more lenses, because nikons are pants for video, and i wanted to get into video, love it, but after seeing your video on this and the Z6, now i want the Nikon Z6, but i will still be keeping this pocket rocket, i agree this is so portable
Yeah what will probably end up happening for me (unless the A7iii with the Tamron 28-75 blows me out of the water) is I'll go with the Z6/M50 combination.
Ya know, I have been going back and forth on this. The last camera I bought was for my wife. Its a product image Canon - PowerShot SX510 HS 12.1-Megapixel. Its not a half bad camera. But, I want a camera of my own. Its all between The M50, Panasonic - G7, Sony - Alpha a6300 or a Nikon. I just cant see dropping that amount on a Nikon. Its only a matter of time before I do something. I should have about $400 (by the end of the year) in reward certs from Best Buy that I'm just itching to use. Which is you favorite to B Roll with?
Which one to purchase? Canon 200D or Canon M50 As a lot of people said 200D has a very solid battery backup when compared to M50! Plus wide range of lens to choose from! Make a comparison and suggest which one to go for! I'm a content creator and a study youtuber who makes on the table videos similar to those unboxing videos! I hope you got the idea and can suggest me a pick b/w two also which lens will go pretty well in my scenario!
You can fit in EF lenses on a mirrorless body using a cheap adapter, but you cant fit EOS m lenses on normal DSLRs like 200d. So in short canon m50 has more lens choices.
I was so close to getting one just this evening. But it was on Ebay, which I don't trust to much and I really couldn't afford it. I would love to have a real camera for my little UA-cam channel.. Some day. Anyways, I have learned so much about cameras from your vids. Thank you so much and keep them coming.
Yeah I have already bought it.. I was really confused between 80D and M50. I think that I have made a good decision of buying M50, and I am very much satisfied by it's performance.
Guys, don't just buy the EF/EFS adapter..get the voltrix speedbooster - which kills the 1.6 crop - and turn the M50 in an almost a full frame for a 1/3 of the price! look it up on amazon: VLTROX EF-EOS M2 0.71x Focal Reducer Speed Booster DOpe Camera! Thanks for the video!
Could you do a walk through video of all the settings needed for close up videos, and then also for outdoor videos for the day, and the night? Thanks so much!!! Love your channel!!!!
I bought mine after watching your previous video on it. I bought it for my C cam but have ended up using it more than my 5div and 80d for casual photo and video
Another superduper fabulous video! 👊😎 I just LOVE my M50! It just is so easy to use and get's you going in no time with amazing focus and video quality for the prize! I still have the original Canon EOS M and oh boy the M-series has come a long way since 2012! And I can still use my M-lenses and my adapter! So my Canon EOS M is on sale right now and instead I keep my Canon G7XII as a second camera or as an even more portable, but still very good option! Canon all the way for me! 🤩😍
What lens can I get for the m50 that would do a similar job to the Nikkor 18-105? Or can I use that lens on an m50 and if so do I need an adapter? Are velo as good as canon adapter? Thanks!! Great video!!
I was going to get the Canon m50 but because I was kind of lazy and late to the game it did not happen. And when I was about to get one I was reading that Canon said they are working on the Canon m5 mkII and I will wait for that one. If it is a combination of the m5 + m50 it has the potential to be great. Everything about the m50 is great for the price but some have said it does lack some controls that the Canon m5 has. Sony lost me when they did not refresh the a6000 and they are working on a high end APS-C but I have no need for that, so it looks like Canon is the way to go.
Some pretty strong arguments! Will you be reviewing the DJI Osmo Pocket soon? it'd be interesting to see how they compare given the similar possible users

The M50 is pretty close to the ideal camera, but that crop and the 24fps :( I didn't know you only had two video modes. Come on Cannon, give us 4k prosumer footage under $1k. Good job. The Nikon Z6 looks great!
You sold me on this a while ago, I'm just waiting for Christmas/Boxing Day when I'll have my Xmas bonus to afford one. But a guy at one of my local camera stores tried to sell me on the M6 for better 4K which doesn't do much for me because I want the fully articulating screen.
the new ef to eos m viltrox speedbooster another reason getting more than a stop improvement 0.71 crop improvement working well no issues with my ef 70 300 usm mk 2 and sig 150 600 c
Great video review. I might have to get one. I use a webcam for my show, I might have to make a switch to this camera. Thank you. Loved seeing you on @technically speaking. Ever since I have been watching you
After watching several videos on UA-cam for M50 black and white versions. Finally, I decided to buy the black one because I felt the white color is exposing more of the plastic build than the black one and buttons are not that good too. Overall, black is looking somewhat professional and makes me easy to maintain focus on the pictures, videos, etc and not on the camera body! But at the end of your day, the main interest should be on the output of the camera and not the body. Color is just a preference or choice.
Hi lol.. I like you review.. But I have seen many ppl reviews they says this camera is only for vlogging purpose.. And photography is not that good.. When compared to sonya6000/6300 I am totally confused with m50 and sony a6300 I am mainly into photography and little videos..
Hi much love from syria❤ I want to get into photography and cinematography as a hobby and maybe start a youtube channel In my country there is no m50 so I will have to ship it from the US it will cost me shipped to me 800$(body + kit lens) but the sl3 and sl2 are available here and they both costs 500$ is it worth the cost difference to get the m50? if not, should I get the sl2 or sl3 considering they are the same price? another point...in syria there is plenty of canon ef efs new and used lenses but not a single efm lense and i will have to ship it from the US and pay double for each lens help me decide! Thanks a lot for your help❤
plz help me ... i have canon 6D +70-200mm f2.8L .. now i need a wide angel lens .. but i confushed between ( Canon 24-70 f4L vs canon M50+15-45mm lens ) .... now which better for me ??..just for Wide angel picture & video ...
u forgot to mention that you need a adapter for most canon lenses. also, the biggest downside: the fucking battery. today, i was shooting some pics in the street, and after just 2 hours, the battery died.
If I already had a bunch of Canon lenses, I would like the idea of adaptation, but the native selection of lenses for this beast is paltry. If I bought this to start, I'd be adapting relatively huge clunky lenses. Micro 4/3rds for this old fart.
Was just recording a new video on my M50 today and I love it so much. Everyone who says it's bad because of the materials it's made of must not remember that most people have never held a 5000$ camera. Everything else it awesome! I love it
I got my m50 last Saturday and WOOHOOHOOOOOOOOOO
Edit: it’s a upgrade from my iPhone 6
Initial damn we are like 😂 I’m getting one to replace my 6s
I watch this video more than 15 times before buying my own m50, no regrets 😊
I am counting on you. I watched this 15 times too and just bought one. Fingers crossed...

I bought a fuji xt3 as a main pro hybrid camera (sold off my nikon d810) and im absolutely in love
A speed booster may help with that. If an official one ever comes out.
Speaking my mind here...
Panfish viltrox released one on amazon!
I just bought it, and now I have to figure out how to use it... lol
Just put it auto 😁👍
Check out Crowle crew so man videos on m50 u will love that channel
That's the fun part! 😁👍
@@TheEverydayDad yeah, that's what I've been doing.. I would love to figure out how to do more. I guess it just takes time, and I'm inpatient. Lol!

Study Morph I use a 700d and love it and I am really torn between the two cameras
If you had an SL2 already that you bought right before the M50 came out would you sell it and get the M50? Asking for a friend. 😳
Depends on how you can sell the sl2 for and how much does the m50 matter to you. XD

I wouldn’t have purchased one, but I won one and it’s pretty great. First thing I did was get the ef adapter. I do like the 22mm f/2 as well.
I bought mines when a month or two after it was released to replace my EOS-M and boy it was a game changer for sure.
In that note, im getting one very soon. Thanks for that great review! 😊
Thanks. Like your reviews! How about a lens review? I am looking for a lens that does everything for travel.
Which does you suggest? The canon m50 or lumix g85? Please respond 😊
My three favourite cameras that I own are the Canon M50, GoPro Hero 7 Black and the Sony RX100V 👍😜
I just absolutely love my m50 it’s such a fantastic camera and at such a low price
I totally agree!
Hope to get mine next week just working on the lens thanks heaps for all your comments stay safe see ýa

Everyday dad... This is a great video... I love the image quality of the M50. I'm on the path to just accepting that I won't get 120fps in 1080p from a camera in my budget... Im steering more towards this little beast... Does it have Clog? I want to shoot stuff to color grade later (Mainly for practice but to increase dynamic range)
If there is one technical issue that makes this camera less than desirable for video, it's the nasty EU tax-driven 29 min 59 sec continuous recording limit. This can be a concern when filming anything live for longer durations (i.e. plays, sporting events, live shows, weddings, graduation ceremonies).
Ok. I bought it. Here we go !!
Wow. If anything the audio of the M50 was better than the mic lol
Yeah the mic had some problems but normally it would be better 😁👍
4K UHD is the cannon everyone shoots. Almost everyone can get by with 1080p no problem. I think the M50 is a good one. As long as you keep your expectations in check and 4K UHD is not a big deal. These are fine. My SL-2 is just fine. I bought a better mic and use external recorder anyway so the preamplifier is not a big deal either.
The biggest disappointment for me was that the Ronin S Gimbal isn’t compatable . I’m hoping the new Zhiyen weebill will be useable.

You show an EF-S 18-135 at the end .. so is EF-S ok with adapter ?.. also speedboost to sort crop..any comment ?

what lens are you using with the m50 in this video?
What lens adaptor do you use? Any thoughts on the Viltrox Ef-eos M2?
Why don’t you shoot in 60 FPS? Just wondering thank you!

I’ve been thinking of getting my first camera and this is my first choice! If I only plan on making indoor videos, do I really need an external mic?
The answer to this is always yes. Audio is sometimes even more important than the video
Should i buy m50 or a6000?
Can you make a review of the Canon M6. After that make a compare video with the m50
love the M50, or Kiss M :)
Didn’t canon openly say they disabled dpaf in 4k so it wouldn’t compete with their high end cameras?

Is it basically a really mini EOSR? I am excited about the new 32f1.4. and the 22f2.

Black looks more premium imo

But at the end of your day, the main interest should be on the output of the camera and not the body. Color is just a preference or choice.
White Is Not good Imagine If you have a Sweaty Hands then Dirts And Finger marks Will show and Yeah It looks More plastic
Hi lol.. I like you review.. But I have seen many ppl reviews they says this camera is only for vlogging purpose.. And photography is not that good.. When compared to sonya6000/6300 I am totally confused with m50 and sony a6300 I am mainly into photography and little videos..
sl2 or the m50?
Will you do a review on the mark iv please!
The negative aspects of this camera are the most important aspects to a videographer lol
What lenses do you prefer for this camera?
Hi
much love from syria❤
I want to get into photography and cinematography as a hobby
and maybe start a youtube channel
In my country there is no m50 so I will have to ship it from the US
it will cost me shipped to me 800$(body + kit lens)
but the sl3 and sl2 are available here and they both costs 500$
is it worth the cost difference to get the m50? if not, should I get the sl2 or sl3 considering they are the same price?
another point...in syria there is plenty of canon ef efs new and used lenses but not a single efm lense and i will have to ship it from the US and pay double for each lens
help me decide!
M50+15-45
M50 vs sl2! I still believe that the sl2 is better. Change my mind
did you move to this because micro four thirds is going dead?
Canon EOS R vs M50?
let me say that is also can shoot at 25fps at pal system
4k 25fps
I think you should try the viltrox ef eos m2 lens adapter 0.71x for 156$
u forgot to mention that you need a adapter for most canon lenses. also, the biggest downside: the fucking battery. today, i was shooting some pics in the street, and after just 2 hours, the battery died.
M50 or panasonic g85
What u use with M50 in minute 3:34
If I already had a bunch of Canon lenses, I would like the idea of adaptation, but the native selection of lenses for this beast is paltry. If I bought this to start, I'd be adapting relatively huge clunky lenses. Micro 4/3rds for this old fart.
I do like micro four thirds a lot too.
Price????
550
$600ish depending on deal.
I bought in during Black Friday deal for only $500.
Thanks
I got mine a few months after it released for $700 but it’s probably cheaper cause of the holidays
