Maddie and Ian note the similarities between the character Martha and the real life Fiona Harvey, Ian Collins questions the show's creative licence and stereotypes, while Maddie there could be a strong case for defamation.

After this interview, I believe that the actress deserves every possible award available to an actress.
I think the actress who played her was 99.999 percent her lol
She sure was. She deserves Emmy or whatever 😂
Honestly, after seeing the real her, her onscreen depiction feels generous. She’s even less pleasant in real life.
Can we give Jessica Gunning the BIGGEST AWARD ever please
Exactly and how on earth would she be able to portray her so well if voice messages didn't exist, and if she had so little contact with him as she stated he would have nothing to give the actress to work with 🤷♀️
She is a common face in Scotland. This is what older Scottish women look like for the most part
What an insult to Susan Boyle.
She didn’t deserve that.
" She dreamed a dream " when in the interview
I love Susan Boyle. I like her rags to riches story an how she surprised everyone on Britain's Got Talent.
@@user-og2wt3le4j it was the biggest wake up call to everyone that pre judges a person or persons. Like Piers said that day everyone was laughing at Susan before she sang, no one is laughing at her now. She has an amazing voice. Wild horses was jaw dropping when she performed that
It was a great interview with Piers Morgan; well done. I have to say, I don’t believe for one minute that she has not watched the Netflix show but I do believe she is Martha, truly unhinged!
You will soon come to grips with the fact that the woman Piers interviewed told the truth, and NETFLIX therefore lied to you. You are having problems with this because it triggers within you the subconscious awareness that Israeli and British officials and media personalities are lying to you about Gaza.
Fiona is off her tits on something, just hope she gets the help she desperately needs.
I have watched the interview (which Piers proved what a world class journalist he truly is) twice and watched out for the following
1) she has done her homework on piers and was quick to remind him of his age and also the reason she chose piers to
Do this interview
2) When she is lying because she does tell a lot of fibs she looks up or down but never at piers, she drinks a gallon of water too
3) the afore mentioned degree and about her exams
4) she denounced the emails and then says so what it she did send that many emails there are worse things than a few emails (41,000 which is 118 a day for a year)
Richard did state that he needs a licence to make the story note TV friendly so the courthouse scene etc. having said that it’s easy to find out if Fiona has ever been served an harassment order. Also Richard has NEVER said who it was she is the one wanting her 15 minutes of fame and realised if she is gonna Sue Netflix she will get millions if it’s ruled in her favour but I cannot see how Netflix or Gadd can say yep it was her they have played the anonymity card and it’s her that’s come out kicking off
Think to bring it all in point Piers should interview Richard
The interview was very unsettling. This poor woman contradicted herself in many points in the interview.
Yep, thought the same.
Absolutely clueless.
But, She has a photographic memory! 😅
Because she is nuts.
Poor woman?!
Feel so sorry for her
Dragging Susan Boyle's name into this is not only highly insulting to Miss Boyle it's also unacceptable. Hope for your sake she doesn't come after you for that.
I think Piers did well here knowing that he was speaking to a lady that was somewhat unhinged.
He'll be used to it from the "killer women" series 😅
Let’s forget about Martha, who is the male rapist? who’s the criminal real criminal in the series
Is stalking not criminal?
@@dayatthe_cricketIsn't grooming and drugged sexual abuse worse???
@@dayatthe_cricketoohhhh......apparently to u stalking is worse than rape. Understood
Bill Burr
@@dayatthe_cricket isn't sexual abuse worse than stalking. Stalking is dangerous but does not necessarily have to result in a physical encounter.
Fiona Harvey is 100% Martha, even if she insists that she isn't.
I don't think she is disputing that the character Martha is based on her, that's why she has come forward. She has been aware of the allegations since Gadd was performing his one man show at Edinburgh fringe festival
Martha is definitely based upon this liar. I do not feel sorry for her in the slightest. She has come forward for her 15 minutes of fame.
To no know your grade when you have done a BA is absurd. She has no idea what the grading system is for degrees I was waiting for her to say she had a grade A or grade C
Unfortunately she hasn’t a clue what is real and what is fiction she is a compulsive liar 🤥
@@Kittenwhisperer24 'Unfortunately she hasn’t a clue what is real and what is fiction '
could use this to describe yourself to be honest, you have no understanding of the grading system for degrees judging by that comment. She completed an ordinary degree not an honours, those are marked as a pass or fail and aren't given an individual grade in Scotland. A 1 minute google could have provided that information, so are you ignorant or just intentionally lying?
Loony tunes
She was very mean about Jessica who plays Martha. Jessica is just doing her job. She's rude and I truly believe she believes what she has told herself.
I got the feeling that it really is so close to the true story that she actually saw Jessica as herself and not as an actress at all.
@@karendegenerous8044 I'd agree on that. The pure defensiveness and overall rudeness towards Jessica I think is a deflection
For someone who didn't watch the series she knew alot about Jessica...
@@lululemonpies that's very true. I can understand journalists telling her some of the allegations but I'm sure they would have just said the basics. Not going into detail.
Narcissists are obsessed about their appearance and how others see them. So it makes sense that she focused on the actress who played her and her disapproval.
There’s parts where he enjoyed her stalking him and the psychological explanation he gives, makes sense (as twisted as it may sound).
He did show the good and bad side, because he even m********ed to her photos in the show and took us on his rollercoaster of emotions, so he didn’t really paint himself as a saint who hated the stalking.
Wow, the actress sure did an amazing job portraying her. lol
Piers was probably scared she'd come after him if he went too hard on her! 🤣
😂😢😅
She did bombard a daily mail journo! 😅
@@lululemonpiesright? Neil Sears said he regrets giving her his phone number. 😂😂
When Martha asked him, "Did someone hurt you? Who was it?" he truly felt her concern and appreciated it for a while. He didn't tell the police about Martha because she's the kind of person who enjoys looking after others. But eventually, it became too much for him to handle.
I’m confused why none of the journalist are informed on this part, but it was said in articles before the season came out, the part that was changed was her name and the fact that she was arrested. He stated that she was never arrested. I don’t understand why no one has seen this disclosure!
Cathy bates not susan boyle
Anyone that’s done a degree will know their grades. When Piers pushed Fiona Harvey for her grades all she could say is she did ok. She had no idea how grades for a BA is broken down. Piers did push her but she couldn’t give him an answer.
Great interview Ian and Maddie top stuff
First time I actually had respect for Piers Morgan.. he handled her as if he understood that she was a little off beat and walking a fine line of realities and fantasies.
What a ridiculous comment. Interviewing her in the first place is grossly unethical.
@@user-tw8de2dc6rwhy is it unethical?
@@user-tw8de2dc6r did I mention anything other than the way he handled her during the interview? Nope didn’t discuss his ethics nor hers.. but have at it it’s called my opinion
If she is lying it is easy to prove....
indeed - and yet to be proved ...
Why are people discussing the stalker and no one is talking about the rapist?! Has the entire world gone mad?!
It’s cause she was so easily found. No one’s certain who the rapist is
@@Junitunes They found him too.
My thoughts are, yeah she’s probably like the character in the series and embarrassed as well as delusional and in denial about what transpired between her and Richard - but what about the man who sexually abused Richard Gadd? The man he had PTSD/revelations about that prompts him to personally admit that he should actually be reporting that man to the police rather than a lonely, mentally-ill, woman who was so infatuated and obsessed with him that she ultimately stalked and harassed him, which is also considered criminal behavior, which she obviously needs diagnosed and treated for the mental illness that drives her actions. What about the sexual assault from the man in the tv and film industry who actually committed the crime of raping Richard Gadd? Why aren’t the Internet sleuths searching, stalking, and threatening him? I’m sure he could be found, too, especially if Richard’s friends during that time leaked the man’s name. I would like to see him try and explain himself in an interview/interrogation like this woman.
Agreed! Horrific!
I think they fucked up by not saying it’s based on a true story
It did say so
@@elleema8357 No they said it WAS a true story, should have said BASED.
@@nicolawood9534 ohhhh 😮
Yes, they're in trouble. It seems like she's never been convicted, no one could find criminal records on her.
@@e.k.7134They're in trouble? I doubt it. If they come forward with the 41,000 emails, her case would be very costly and expensive on every level.
She has a Facebook account where she has made multiple public ramblings, it is definitely her and I believe she is a stalker based on her behaviour
She is more obsessed with Richard than she claims. She is just trying to fix the damage she has done, but her personality stays the same. A true narcissistic stalker.
I watched an analyst. He said she used a lot of words like “obsessive, stalking etc”.
She said “I don’t think you can look trough a window on the third level ..”
How does she know it was the third level if she hasn’t seen the movie?
She said people told her about it
Maybe because she actually lives in the third floor flat and he couldn't magically manifest outside her window. That's what she said. He couldn't appear at her third floor window. Taken in context, it is nowhere near as dramas you make it sound
Yes, I do believe it true. Based on her other high profile stalking charges, and recent stalking of British journalist Sears, who has recently been stalked by her leaving threatening voicemails and emails because she's offended by a truthful article Sear's wrote about her.
They are both lying. He lied and over exaggerated to make the story more interesting and she's minimizing the story to save face. What ever the case, what he has done to her now is way worse. He didnt even need to say it was based on a true person. Didn't consider her livelihood and safety one bit. He should have gone after the rap1st instead.
I do agree with you. Buh I don't think he did anything to her. He put his story out there, the internet found her.
@@HopeBlakkyl He said he made the character so different that she couldn't be found. he didn't.

How odd that the host of this show hasn’t even seen the series….yet has strong opinions on the subject. Strange.

Yeah but because of her
@kr50401 1st, he was not without a job. 2nd, after God knows the amount distress she caused him and apparently did not get any jail time, I think he deserves to get rich because of her, and she deserves to remain in her delusional bubble. @@kr50401 I meant at the pub
If the show is based on real life, where is her prison sentence? The TV series said she got nine months. That is public record.
Richard has said he added that in as an ending.
Richard explained that certain details were changed to not only mask her identity, but also for TV. He said irl that he never pressed charges and that people that are ill to this degree need help, instead of prison time.
@@irpk7211
I’m wondering how it actually played out in real life?
Did he get some kind of restraining order you think?
With all true stories told on tv there will always be parts and phrases that are added for dramatisation purposes. The story perhaps needed an ending, and if Richard has stated that in previous interviews it was a dramatised ending, then why are people jumping on it?
@@myaccount2672because the damage is already done. You cannot state it’s a true story then after in an interview say- oh I made up a false ending. He’s got no credibility and rather than seek the help he still needs he monetises his sickness
This was so strange. The guy has not even watched the show. He said 4.5 million views is similar to the amount who had watched baby reindeer. Not even close. Just really odd.
The fact that no one mentioned her name and she came out to claim the personality just further proves she’s the stalker. She’s at the interview claiming those things didn’t happen. If it didn’t happen to you, then it’s not you they are talking about 🤷🏽♂️
u guys are not very well informed when you say who is she going to sue - its called jigsaw identification. Netflix and writer calls this a true story and has failed in their duty of care to keep Marthas identity secret (something they managed to do with Darrians character who is accused of raping Gadd) which opens them up to legal action. As opposed to calling this is true story it should have been categorised as fiction inspired by true events.
I would take your legal advice more seriously, if you could type English.
@@thephiman1 They are right though
💯
Her identity was NOT revealed by anyone but HERSELF.

Everyone misses that at the end of the show it states that Marth didn't actually go to jail and that part was fictionalized. smh.
Everyone seems to be missing the point that they said it was a true story. Even if it's at the end, people found her and they believe she's actually done everything in the show. Smh right back at ya
She should have said “yes I was in love. Yes I was very confused based on the mixed signals he gave me. (Bc when you watch the series you can see the bad decisions Richard made too) Yes I reached out to him too many times. But no, I did not attack him, and no I have never been convicted of a crime”. That would have been more believable and she would still have a case for defamation. That is, If it’s true she didn’t do those things.
There’s a reason why no one has sued Netflix and won. I hope they counter sue
Stalkers can be very convincing liars
Now interview the groomer tv producer!!

That is Richards business, not ours

That irritating vocal fry……..
At 7;21. Here's where the people involved will have to answer if this ends up in a civil trial. They all said this was based on fact and truthful events. They never stated the series is "loosely based on events that took place." The hook to get viewers is that it is not a work of fiction like a Hollywood movie. The series was promoted as based on real events. The prison sentence could be challenged. That is important to any case since the alleged stalker in the series actually was found guilty by the courts as a stalker and then sentenced. This is essential to her case if she files it. As a lawyer she would have a ruined reputation. There is an allegation by the producers and writers of the series that she now has a criminal record.
He said the jail part was fiction.
she posts like 20 times a day on her Facebook!! crazy random insults. he portrayed her spot on !!
I remember the sullivans lol and "the flying drs" 🤣 I was only about 6
I wonder if the actress who played Martha did some stalking herself to 'nail' the character as well as she did. I understand that Mr. Gadd could share voicemails so she could mimic the voice, cadence, etc. But the subtle traits and facial expressions would take observation over time. Verrrry interesting.
You don't say the same for the actor's who depicted being racist, rapists, murders and prostitutes. Why would her being an actress be any different. That's what actor's do. ACT.
@@gi_girl6117 Because she's in that role to look and behave like 'Martha' and countless people say she's practically a doppelganger for her. Besides, I'm sure the lead actor/author playing himself, could comfortably re-enact his encounters with 'Martha' since her near-twin was imitating her to a tee. I have no idea if such precision was expected of the other cast members. I'm just commenting on the Martha character. 😂🤣
Netflix and Gadd literally state "this is a true story "
Not based on a true story or inspired by real events. So these two missed the point a bit.
Not that I necessarily believed Harvey, but for balance. So if she is telling the truth I imagine she would have a case
At the end of each episode it indicates creative license
Don’t know who this Maddie female is but that voice is difficult to listen to.
And yet here you are.
Her accent is what we Australians call: Okka or Bogan.
They all sound the same on this show idk what you’re talking about
It’s the sound of an airhead trying to make herself sound smart, and disguising it with vocal fry
I disagree. I think she's trying to clear her name as anyone would.
agreed. I believe her!
Her name wasn’t mentioned anywhere. She literally just outed herself.
The show is only disturbing and uncomfortable if you have never experienced abuse before. If you have experienced abuse, the show feels empowering.
Pretty much the other way around
There are lot of women who were stalked by ex-boyfriends. I know of one case where the ex-bf was the nephew of the city police Chief. A cop on the force said she had little chance this guy would stay away. So she had to be moved by social workers and the court officers to another city three hours away so she had no hassle from the ex-bf. He eventually was convicted but spent very little time in jail. However he never tracked her down again and eventually found a new gf.
No it really triggered my trauma tbf
If the genders were reversed and it was a male stalker then would he been as soft in his interview?
I have a question ...in "real life" was Gadds abuser arrested or did he report it?
No, he didn't report his alleged abuser
@@scorpiorising7694 interesting!

Does Ian Collins ever allow other people to talk?
It's only about half of this program which is about baby reindeer. And did Martha really keep her silence, I don't think she was really called for until the last week.
Didnt Netflix have a disclaimer at the end saying some things had been changed...?
Yes, at the end of every episode
Why would she deny things that can be proved ? Going to prison etc !
Maybe because it's dramatically inaccurate??? They made it up. It isn't true. That's just the bottom line by the looks
Fiona speaks so much like Madeline Kahn in Yellowbeard.
Did Maddie Hale say that she drank a lot? At the same time accusing Martha to not be 100% fine?
As I watch this interview, anger wells up inside me knowing that if it was a man that stalked a woman like this, he would be have been in jail not walking around hosting interviews.🤷🏽♂️
Great publicity for Netflix; they'll be rubbing their hands together with glee!🤪
Yep. Netflix is advertising this piers Morgan interview.
I REMEMBER THE SULLIVANS! I TOO WATCHED IT IN MY LUNCH BREAK!
Piers Morgan’s Baby Reindeer interview shouldn’t have happened. The interview takes advantage of a vulnerable person that is clearly not mentaly well. It’s clear he’s not even remotely interested in hearing her side of the story and is solely chasing clout. Am appalled at the decision Piers made but i get that in his head views and a quick buck are worth more then human dignity.

Im 47 from the UK and when I think of Home and Away the first character i think of is Bobby too. 😊
All I can say is this doesn't appear to be a true story at all. So how did Gadd and Netflix get away with that statement? Very strange set up.
'every law student i know knows their marks' - the 20-something year old who likely knows students fresh out of graduation. I found the reference to Susan Boyle was cruel and unnecessary
Since the film is based on a true story and the ressemblance to Harvey is accurate, it would be interesting to see the outcome of suing in court. Harvey could stand a chance, actually!
With a green spot in his face? What is she trying to say?
Whats so wrong about all of this is no doubt Richard Gadd, Netflix nad Piers Morgan have all made a hefty profit from this and yet she was given £250. Even if she did everything in the film, there is still a duty of care, surely? I think she should be entitled to some of the cash from all of this!!
