  • After getting the Wall Tent set up on the platform, we decided to add a tent fly to better protect the tent. We also added the Camp Chef Alpine Heavy Duty Cylinder Stove to our tent for some much needed heat as temperatures are dropping fast.

    Great setup! I love my Camp Chef stove. I did gasket the door and added a stovepipe cap on top.

    Nice camp!!! Love my camp chef barrel stove!!! I upgraded mine to 6 in black pipe and put a gasket on the door and 3 fire bricks one at the back and one against each side to hold heat! The gasket really helps burn time!

      We will have to look into doing that! If it is above 32 degrees, being able to control the heat would be nice.

    Would love to see an update on your tent and how things are going. Do you live in it full time?

    When tank is on stove, make sure you keep it full of water so it doesn’t warp

    Wow what a nice tent. Love the platform too. The stove is reported to be extremely well made lasting years with proper care. Ashes getting moist inside sure will rust out a stove quickly.
    Enjoyed your video. Best wishes to you both.

      Snow has gotten into the wood stove from the chimney. I have noticed rust, but it's a great tip that I wish I knew sooner! I will most likely start taking down the chimney when it's not in use. Thanks for watching!

      I bought a cap for my stovepipe. It really helps keep moisture out. Home Depot has them for around $ 5.

    Well done! Can't wait to see what's next. Maybe some cross country ski trails with the snow dog at the shack? 😉

      Absolutely! Just was out there this weekend and there was roughly 4 inches of snow on the ground!

      Wow, you are right, big increase in price. We do love our tent and it's held up great all winter with the tarp on the top

    Have you had any excessive creosote buildup with that stove or has it been minimal? Nice work! That tent looks amazing!

    • @gravesupnorth
      @gravesupnorth  7 місяців тому +1

      So far, very minimal! Thanks for watching

    Is there any separation between the tent and the tarp over top? Does moisture build up in the winter?

    • @gravesupnorth
      @gravesupnorth  7 місяців тому

      No, the tarp is game-changing to keep any melting snow off the canvas.also UV rays. Thanks for watching!

    If you’re not there to get snow off the roof, is that a problem?

    • @gravesupnorth
      @gravesupnorth  2 місяці тому

      If there is more than roughly 6-8 inches of snow, It will have to be knocked off.. if you build your own wood frame, then it wouldn't be a worry. Thanks for watching!

    You are leaving up year round, correct? Did White Duck have any thoughts on that? Guessing with rain fly it should be fine. Would like to do the same. Thanks. Good job

    • @gravesupnorth
      @gravesupnorth  Рік тому

      Yes, we are leaving it up year-round. We didn't contact White Duck for their thoughts on it. Cuyuna Cove mn has white ducks tents that have been set up for multiple years now. We believe with the rain fly that will help a tremendous amount with mold and sun damage. If we get 10 20 years out of the tent, I would be very happy. Hopefully, before then, we will have a more permit building. Thanks for watching!
