I use aquatec spraying it I’ve used it for internal an exterior window and kitchens an wide range of other things all my samples windows an melamine board r still goin strong amazing drop of paint when preped properly an sprayed with 10%water an correct drying time an good gun it’s solid. Simon is a lovely an if ya have a problem I phone him he will give you the correct advice
I’ve used Kolorbond several times… brilliant paint never had an issue staying this and it never fails and sticks like shit!! The finish is far superior to some of these crappy spray jobs use see where they do zero prep , bang it on and bugger … cowboys !
Yes and like you did the full clean etc .. changed from light brown recently to dark anthracite grey.. did 6 windows and facias and a brick door surround with it (undercoated first) .. never had a problem finish as you say is great… and by the time I’ve done the second window I just go back to the first and so on 😁 @@ProfessionalPainterDecorator
New to Hvlp spraying… Ive just started experimenting with a Fuji Q5… you mention in your Video applying a dust coat first.…and not over-atomizing the spray… what would be a good sign the finish is atomizing correctly. Cheers
Get some Card and alter paint flow and air flow, see how it makes the spray different. Too much paint with not enough air will splatter. Too much air and not enough paint will makes it go all misty and weak as a finish. Start with full air, then reduce till you get a nice spray fan pattern. Getting a dust/mist coat to start with.. just reduce down the paint flow so not so much gets applied.
Hi Phil Going to spray some window frames with the Kolorbond original What masking tape would you recommend Thought either orange frog tape or tesa outdoor blue Also what to clean the gun out with Jeff
Hi Jeff, have you watched the uPVC door spraying, it shows you washing the kit out. Tape... for brick.. Masq RED tape, Glass.. I use the precision 'orange' Q1 tape... general I use the q1 'yellow' tape
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator Hi Phil Yes meant taping them up Didn’t know the rubber could be painted, thought it would peel off Cheers mate Love the vids by the way
hi paul ive recently started a project on some wardrobes but they to have some sort of plasticy laminate wrapping on them.... ive cleaned them off and i got recomended some 123 primer to put over it and then top coat but once i applied the paint it seems to chip fairly easy..... ive just bought some shellac primer i was wondering if i could go straight over the 123 primer with it? as some of the doors are just in the 123 primer still
i feel a bit lost with the project now as i dont know weather i need to strip it all back to the laminate which is a massive job or if i could literally just sand it a bit and go straight over with the shellacbin primer
@@Shortboxing47 Shellac based finishes will tend to stick to anything other than waxes or oils, just give it a good flatten off and a key and it should be fine, with the laminate wrapping you need to give them a real good key for the paint/finish to adhere because it is so flat so that may be why its coming off easy.
Phil do you have a video on the Original? I used the original a few months ago and done a scratch test 3 weeks later and was horrendous. Right back to the white pvc it went.
When Ricky Gervais paints his windows . Forget the office this guys even funnier in this sketch .
Thanks, it will def be interesting to see how Auatek stands up, I must get into spraying👍👍
You should!
Hello Phil enjoy your videos, my only criticism is you repeat yourself too many times keep up the good work from a fellow professional decorator

What about the tape on the black rubber gaskets Phil
Jeff
what about it?
do you mean, taping them up?
YOu can go over them with kolour bond
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator
Hi Phil
Yes meant taping them up
Didn’t know the rubber could be painted, thought it would peel off
Cheers mate
Love the vids by the way
Great video once again 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Do you mask the black rubber seals as well or paint them as well?
I thought I covered that on the video?
KolorBond you can go over the rubber. If you feel the erge to carefully tape the rubbers feel free ;)
Have you used this on composite doors? Also would a 1.5 needle handle this paint once thinned down?
You can use this on GRP Composite doors.
What tip did I use?
1.5 if it's thin enough.
Hi Phil, just wondering if you have details of the respirator/ mask you use, please.
oh yes.. there's a video I've doneon that... have you found it yet..?
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator I'm looking now👍

zinsser 123 does take a good 7 days to fully cure.
keep it on and carry on with the top coats. and don't try and chip it off.

Hi mate, I know this is a stupid question. Know when you using 2K can you use it on metal? So I can do my door and garage. Thank
think you can.
whats on the door now?
Nice job mate 👌

Yeah, a few vids where I used it.. also a vid where I go back to see how it's stood up over 6monthd and a year +

hello phil do you have to do a mix ratio with thinners when using kolourbond
Hi, no, it was a case of just adding a little bit and seeing how it sprayed and adjusting accordingly. But a splash of water did help the Aqua.
Would a 25 litre compressor be okay to use?
yep. Id say so.
Great mate with is the colour code?
RAL7016
Could you do a future video turning the window around and spraying it with a airless sprayer as most DIY people don't have expensive Q5 machine's
How about I use a cheap £40 hvlp?
Have you seen that video of me trying it out?
Yes it was a few months ago I think
2k Polyacrylic is better
what did you think to the 2k upvc paints i tried a few weeks back?
