I got stranded deep in one of California's most isolated forests completely alone. It sucked.

If someone wanted to contrast a typical (rinse & repeat) GMBN video, I’d point them to this! Yes, others have done the “Oh, I’m alone in the woods” videos before….. but not like this. Well done!
Thank you so much🙏🏻
@@nrmlmtber I can't find knee pads that go around my thighs.
Have you found a brand that you are happy with?
I heard that same night in that same forest there were big foot sightings, some people are even saying big foot had a bike.
One of the funniest, and obviously dedicated mtb creators out there. You are deserving of tons of more subscribers!
Crazy he doesn’t have a million. Dude is funny and quite a capable rider.
“Let’s set up camp...” Kicks some branches out of the way and sits down. Epic.
The most important thing about staying safe while out in nature is understanding your surroundings. I thoroughly enjoy being out in the woods at night, it’s soo peaceful to me. The odds of getting attacked by an animal at night are actually extremely low. With a good light setup, mtn biking at night is so fun!
Great video!
I have been turned around at night in the woods in areas that I have been to many times during the daylight hours. It is very easy to become disoriented, we use even the smallest landmarks to orient ourselves subconsciously, and even with a flashlight at night, we loose this to a certain extent. Great video, really enjoyed it!
Great video man ! I had a buddy not stay with the pack and went ahead once. he took a wrong turn and ended up many miles away and we had no idea he took that turn in the woods. He had no shirt, no water as i was carrying it. his left crank arm was loose, no tools at all,no lights and it was dark. He never left the pack again
This was good, kind of Blair Witch Project vibes. I like that you tried to get a drone treetop shot in the night, even if it was just blurry blobs!
When I first started seeing NRML MTBer vids in my suggestions I thought it was just another MTB channel. Then I was like damn, this guy is huge and actually funny! Then I got scared and subscribed.
Yoooo this is the Halloween special that no one expected lmao. Legit gave me chills and laughs.
Much respect dude. Trying to sleep alone in the woods is no joke.
I work nights so most of my biking is at night. I just stay out of the woods because I can't see bumps. If I'm walking its no big deal. It's 1:45 pm and time for bed
At first, I thought this video was going to be a Michael Scott - Office type episode. But wow, I'm impressed you stuck it out (solo camping can be intense). Hope you at least had a Garmin on you though. Btw, I totally spotted your rig driving in Novato a couple weeks ago - made my day :)
You don't get enough views for this! My favourite MTB UA-camr!
Aww going in the dark is the worst
Did an almost night (sunset time to early night) ride yesterday in my local trail here in NY and it already made me paranoid when it got really dark.
As a kid, I was lost in the woods overnight, lashed myself into a tree that night, that was in Northern BC, Canada. It was a spooky night for a 14yr old, but I stayed calm, and that's the most important thing to do! I now carry matches, reflective blanket, a few protein bars, chain, tube, pump, a multitool and basic repair tools at all times! Im 57 now, and after an experience like that you realize that the small amount of weight of a basic survival kit is beyond worth it!
Imagine doing this in australia 😂
😂
This video wouldn’t have been uploaded lol
So many things can take you out all at once. 😂
💀👌🏽
It's almost like you can mix backpacking and mountain biking for a camping/bicycling expedition...
What an experience man.... You're strong I would cry all 🌃✨ tough man, you rule!
Anyone who hasn’t been in the woods by themselves for the night doesn’t know how scary the woods are at 2am lol
I'm happy not to find out what it's like 😂
I've seen too many horror films I wouldn't handle this
Even by 10 PM the woods are a different ecosystem from daylight. I do a fair amount of night riding, I see around 5 deer each time. At first its freaky because from far away you'll only see two glowing eyes staring back at you, but they're usually not super interested in you. Lot's of racoons in my area too, they make the FREAKIEST sounds
The first couple nights are weird after that you get used to it.
I actually enjoy going out in woods at night alone. I don't even bring a flashlight.
You have got to do a duos version of this, please!
I'm a big guy at 6,6 230lbs but when I'm alone I get so nervous bro. 🤣 anyways love the vids bro, keep it up!
For a moment there, I thought one of the creepypasta channels I'm subbed to uploaded a new vid. 🤣
"I saw a portapotty in the middle of the woods. I never should've gone in.", that sounds like a legit creepypasta. 😂
😂 thatll be the next thumbnail🎃
Love the Halloween music vibes. This kinda makes me want try to do this here in Florida.... But then I thought... Mosquitoes, biting flies, Chiggers, ticks, spiders, snakes... Uh maybe not!
My last solo ride at night I saw eyeshine next to a tree at about head level maybe 20 yards away. It was probably a raccoon peeking from behind the tree that it was climbing, and I wanted to get closer to make sure but I thought, "what are you going to do if isn't a raccoon?" Yeah, I didn't linger in that spot. I've heard whispers in the dark once near some old foundations during another ride. I'm in the Hudson Valley of NY so it's not big wilderness. Yes, I've always got TP and lights, a knife, but I also carry a small emergency blanket. It's folded up and about the size of a wallet. Great video! I was expecting your friends to ambush you......mine would.
Man, this almost happened to me in Mendo. I did this nasty uphill for almost an hour and took a nap at the top of the trail. When I woke up, it was the tail end of sunset and I had to smash down the hill chasing the last of the sunlight. I didn’t have a light and almost rode off the trail like three times. I got to my car right as it got dark.
Damn bruh when you actually explained what you were doing I was like “oh no”. I’ve watched enough survival shows to see where this was headed. Most people underestimate how insanely useless you feel out alone and exposed in the woods at night. We’ve taken modern shelters for granted. Nature is a cold hard bitch folks
Brilliant video, l couldn’t do what you did, very brave, well done
Dude! You’re insane! Hope your “where you don’t wanna get bit” parts didn’t fall off!
That was a great video, thank you.
DUDE !DUDE! DUDE !DUDE! WOW!! respect man ,my balls just jammed my throat, alone in the woods at night ,with minimal kit & no shelter..
Bro you are at another level to do that. AVANGERS ASSEMBLE 💪💪
Enjoyed ur others video too thankyou🤘
Ho man,is there a thing that you can't do?
You are the idol for all fat bikers(me included)...
You are better that many actors...
If you make a 10 hour movie,I would watch it every weekend
All hail to the allmighty fat biker!!!
Quick tip: cats don’t usually hunt during the night but during sunrise/sunset when the eyes of their prey are adjusting to the light change.
Hahaha that's me every f**ing time :D Very nice video enjoyed it a lot!!
Bro I love your videos, just went on a night ride and the silent, pitch dark woods is more sketch than the trial it self
Thanks dude🙏🏻 also night riding is terrifying, especially if youre alone😅
Super cool
You clearly went unprepared. I always carry something to split wood in half, something to split a wild animal in half, salt, a tarp and a fire starter in my bike emergency kit.
My bike buddy n me, we also ride trails @night. But never alone bro =)
This is so funny lol. I guess I've spent enough times outside overnight by myself I've forgotten how creepy the sounds can be. Talking is one way to keep animals away...most of the time lol
Excellent choice of music and sounds, got goose bumps here.
That was a cool video. Them bawls must weigh a ton.
My anxiety levels were highly elevated throughout this video.
Dude that's terrifying
AWESOME VIDEO
Woah Imagine setting up the camera’s, walking back to get them and continue doing so for some nice shots. Would definitly be scared doing that!
I'm sure the animals were more worried about getting eaten by you 😂
Not what I expected it to be, but enjoyed it very much
when you said "listen to how silent it is out here"... I expected a fart 💩
I thought the intro would be one of your jokes.... crazy!!
Lyons, tigers and bears oh my!
Bro your crazy for doing that
I love you dude but you literally camped on my home trail that’s right above a tons of houses so it’s not really dense or remote woods at all, that whole area is highly trafficked the thing you gotta watch out for most is rangers lol
Your friends waited for you thats cool I guess a little camp fire is not cool there in California great entertainment right here 👍
The forest hippies...lmfao. Are you Cartman’s big brother?
respect
Carrying a mylar blanket and some paracord takes up practically no space or weight and can make a little shelter if only for the psychological benefit so you're not just exposed on the ground.
This is mental!!!

I'm glad that it's "something" not "someone" wew
Dude I was scared watching this.
Bro this is called elk camp here in Wyoming when someone gets lost
Me who loves to go to forest at midnight with no flashlight:lol
how do you have a full battery at 3:00 a.m.
You found the car pretty fast did you use GPS?
Watching this video at midnight, I think I've never been that shitscared by an ad😭
Survivor Man: MTB Edition...
You are crazi
Nah but wtf actually was that thing at the start
I shouldn’t have watched this video until next week because I am going camping in 3 days
But elk camp it can get to negative 50 and there are 3 ton moose and elk it's scary as hell even with another person with u
What about the gps in your phone?
I always feel like somebody’s watching me
And I have no privacy oh oh
🤙🤙🚲💨💨
u should Caleb with B1ker
What I hear is you've really never camped before lol
5 thumbs up from me.
I was alone biking in the woods awhile ago up here in the PNW and I had one of the most scariest experiences that I ever had. Something was watching me for sure & whatever it was throw a very big rock at me. Needless to say I didn't finish the ride & didn't stick around long enough to see what it was & high tailed it back to my car as fast as possible. I was absolutely terrified 😨
Sounds like a big foot
@@brabbit3873exactly my thoughts. For sure. That rock was too big for a person to throw the distance that it traveled. I had my GoPro with me but I didn't have it on at the time but I turned it on when I got further down the trail and started to record what happened as I fleed the area in a panic. When I started out on that ride something in my head told me not to go in that dark ass forest alone but I didn't listen.
@@harveycasey1900 yeah as soon as I read the part saying a big rock was thrown I knew yup that's a big foot totally scary man. I remember reading a story about soldiers Vietnam coming across rock apes aka big foots. Aww well never again in the bush alone lol
@@harveycasey1900 you should post the footage because that I something I would want to see.
@@QuiglaMTB I thought about it & I will but it's kinda embarrassing on my part because I'm hauling ass downhill trying to describe what happened & it just sounds like I'm blabbering 😅
And this all happened about five to six weeks ago.
Alone in the dark.
You just gonna stand there for 14 hours? Yeah just last week after work I took a track that didn't go where I expected... Finally made it back to my car before dark
Kudos! Great video. I also have come back in the dark a few times including when I had a 3 hour concussion 😓
Why dfak you took your bike and dident ride them?
I hope you had a firearm in that bag bro whenever I go out like that I always keep a gun with me I had an experience just last week where I ran into a mountain lion at Mount Baldy Southern California
Why do I have a nagging urge to go and do this?
why are you walking with your bike?
When you're ready to step up to "alone in a cave overnight" let me know. I need to find a cave that I'm not familiar with and have someone blind fold me and take me deep into it to see if I can find my way out.
So u spent the night in LA.. huh
Damn dude that’s impressive
Dude...careful with them lions. To them you are a meal. But the hippies would eat you too...
A bike movie without biking.....
Lol
what happened to your tiktok😧
Wheres your damn lighter???
Didnt wanna trigger any eco hippies thinking i would start a fire😂
@@nrmlmtber ha thats what i figured! Aint no joke out there.
But im sure you have one😁

Big city baby, but I love you, one dat you will become a man.
This is such a stupid thing to do if he did it for real though. It's flat out dangerous and reckless. If you're gonna need help you'll also be endangering others who will have to come looking for you (more likely your body), so it's not just your life that's at stake. Besides, many young people who see this might think this is really cool and attempt to emulate this in spite of what he says at the end. It would be a different matter entirely if he had been properly equipped, knowledgeable and ready to face the wilderness but this really felt off, it was an attempt at becoming yet another missing person case, and for what? Posting a video? Getting likes? I don't want to spoil anyone's fun but there are safer, smarter ways of doing it.
boohoo
Bro chill… I believe he was just showing what a rider would experience getting lost after a ride, not planning on spending the evening in the woods.
while your statement could be true if it was actually a dangerous thing he was doing.... its not, just creepy
