Shopping Holland Bowl Mill's Imperfect Sale...
Holland Bowl Mill's imperfect bowls will have more grain or color variation and may not be perfectly round when compared to premium bowls. Because of these imperfections, each size bowl (12, 15, and 17-inch) is priced at a heavy discount compared to HBM's premium selections. You will be shopping bowl size. HBM will make a wood type surprise selection for you.
There are a specific quantity's of bowls already set aside to support this promotion in each size. When the respective quantities are sold out, the size will be marked as "out of stock" and no longer available in the promotion. We post some updates on Facebook on available inventory levels during the 4 day sale.
What won't you find in these bowls? Cracks on the rim or structural issues. Just like the premium bowls, all imperfect bowls come with a lifetime guarantee from cracking or warping, provided they are properly cared for. Avoid leaving standing water in the basin, and do not place bowls in a dishwasher, as that will void our lifetime guarantee.
Bowls will vary in wood types. All hardwoods and great for chopping! Wood types- Walnut, Cherry, Beech, Red Oak, Ash and Maple. You will be shopping by Bowl Size. HBM will make a "surprise selection" of wood type for you to fulfill the order.

We have been eating a salad for one of our main meals daily since 2013 when we transitioned to a whole food plant based lifestyle. Over the years it evolved to a chopped salad which we absolutely love and make every day in our Holland Bowl Mill 15 inch wood bowl, using a mezzaluna knife. You might be thinking, why make a chopped salad? For starters chopped salads are more delicious than traditional mixed greens salads. Once chopped, each bite of salad is delightfully flavorful. The salad is reduced in volume and it's easier to eat! Chopped salads can be made low calorie density so they are perfect for weight loss. Salads made with plenty of dark leafy greens also happen to be nutrient dense and some of the best foods we can choose to eat. Add in lots of other raw or cooked vegetables, fruit and some starch and you just made yourself a five star salad!

Also, I wanted to ask...do either of you ever eat out of your bowls? Like is it an issue if a salad with wet ingredients/dressing sits in the bowl for about an hour or so?

You can eat out of the bowl if you wish. It’s just so big and deep that we prefer to eat our salad out of a different container.
