    A note from Tami....
    We have been eating a salad for one of our main meals daily since 2013 when we transitioned to a whole food plant based lifestyle. Over the years it evolved to a chopped salad which we absolutely love and make every day in our Holland Bowl Mill 15 inch wood bowl, using a mezzaluna knife. You might be thinking, why make a chopped salad? For starters chopped salads are more delicious than traditional mixed greens salads. Once chopped, each bite of salad is delightfully flavorful. The salad is reduced in volume and it's easier to eat! Chopped salads can be made low calorie density so they are perfect for weight loss. Salads made with plenty of dark leafy greens also happen to be nutrient dense and some of the best foods we can choose to eat. Add in lots of other raw or cooked vegetables, fruit and some starch and you just made yourself a five star salad!

    I absolutely love this chop and talk and hope you do more. I cannot tell you how much the two of you encourage me to continue with eating healthy. I think both of your salads are beautiful! My salads tend to look more like Tom’s😊 I enjoy anything you guys post. I wish I could have joined the live but I was working. Thanks again❤️

    We all sat at the table to eat our meals when I grew up...for all meals. I like where we all are there together and interact. I tried to continue the tradition while our daughter grew up. For the most part we managed to eat some meals together (3 of us), but because my husband had shift work that changed every 3 months to different hours, a lot of time it was our daughter and myself eating together at the table. I think that is really important...sharing our time together! Love your salads by the way....beautiful, healthy and Good!!

      @@NutmegNotebook I placed my order! I’m SO EXCITED! Thank you for all your hard work & dedication. That discount & special offers was sure impactful ! Now on to my health journey!I’m not exactly prepared to batch prep YET. Any suggestions to make my first salad easy? I’m concerned with how to make an easy dressing. 😬

      Well we have a lot of ideas in this video on our salad making. Also If you Google Nutmeg Notebook Chopped Salads you will find a lot of links to our videos or blog posts. We also have a video showing how we batch prep our salads so Google Nutmeg Notebook Batch Prepping Salads and watch that video. Google Nutmeg Notebook Salad Dressings for those recipes. We also like flavored balsamic vinegars from California Balsamic see our link underneath this video. Also we have an online class called Beautiful Chopped Salads with 12 videos and a recipe ebook. Use code Nutmeg30 to save 30% on it. Here is the link nutmegnotebook.com/course/

    I love the Walk & Talk videos - and now Chop & Talk! I hope you’ll make more.😁 I enjoy watching your longer videos at night when I’m puttering in the kitchen. One question Tami: do you toss your beautiful salad before eating or do you leave it “compartmentalized”?

    • @NutmegNotebook

      Thank you fur your kind comments and for watching. Usually I toss the salad but it depends on what the toppings are.

    Hey Tami and Tom, this was pretty impressive. I can’t believe how much you put in the salad and that you and Tom have such varied salads and tastes. More prep work though. I noticed you aren’t adding dressing on top, but you did dress the chopped salad part with flavored vinegar? I tend to douse with more dressing. I guess by using vinegar on greens then you can taste the other ingredients more?

    • @NutmegNotebook
      @NutmegNotebook  2 місяці тому

      It’s just personal preference. We want to taste the flavor of all the delicious ingredients in our chopped salads so we usually opt for vinegar. But sometimes we use one of my salad dressing recipes. Right now we are all about the vinegars!

    I'm sorry. I'm not trying to be mean, but please let Tami speak. Please stop cutting her off and talking over her.
    I like it when she does the videos by herself. There is no interruption when she is talking and no confusion and/or extra noise.
    It is really annoying to watch someone redirect the flow of the video and do things his way. I love Tami's calm energy and will still watch her videos, but only when she does them alone.

      I somewhat agree as it was a noisy video with lots of background noise and less calm than other videos I’ve seen. Maybe because it was an impromptu video or because it was lunch and time to eat 😅still enjoyed all the info. 😊

    You directly chop in the bowl so it forms dents with the chopper, when you clean does not soap water enter it, or is there another way of cleaning these bowls.

    Maybe it's just me but it seems since you met Sia you are becoming orthorexic. Tom doesn't look like he is getting enough food.

    • @NutmegNotebook
      @NutmegNotebook  2 місяці тому +2

      @@user-fc6hy1fn3j Yes it is just you. I think people in our society are surrounded by over weight people and now they no longer realize what normal weight people should look like. Tom is at a healthy weight for his height. I’m not sure what qualifications you have for diagnosing orthorexic in others but I don’t think you should go around giving people labels like that! There is a huge difference between making healthy food choices and intentionally getting a wide variety of plants in our daily diet vs someone who is becoming orthorexic which is a serious eating disorder. Unless you are medical professional who specializes in eating disorders you really shouldn’t throw these terms around. If you were a medical professional you would know better than to leave such inappropriate comments.
