I'd expect no less from a person named after a bass guitar.
is this an inside vulfpeck fanbase joke I'm not getting?
@@unacuentadeyoutube13he has a series of signature basses, 3 now I think
@@unacuentadeyoutube13 it's an evolution of the "Cory Wong was named after a Vulfpeck song" meme
For more context than that, Ernie Ball made a Joe Dart bass.
@@Iceman259 yes, thank you. I was aware at the time but still didn't get the joke lol
Man looks exactly like what I'd expect a man with his talents to look like.
His name is Joe fart
@@harvey_weenstain8857Stank so intense it changed his last name.
Or Joe Dart. He has a very unique style. He plays with Cory Wong too.
Not gonna lie, I'd of figured he was black.
Joe fart mediocre bass player
It turns out that toan is actually stored in the neck.
He's like a Pez dispenser, but instead of candies, you get sweet notes!
Thank you Theo for avoiding the crowd acceleration from 80 to 250bpm
Got the pleasure of seeing joe play this week. He is immensely talented and being able to see his technique up close was a treat.
1:24 Cory Wong, one of the Beastliest Rhythm Guitar Players gives up because Joe Dart is too fast (Pun intended)
Its a very cleverly composed song, because the tempo rises while the complexity doesn't as much. Especially when the loop finishes (at the end of thos video) and starts again. Still i couldn't do it so
I will express my joy for this music by clapping out of time.. said every concert goer.
Normally players have to keep up with the clapping, here the audience has to try to keep up
The ADHD is near limitless is power😂😂
Man do these guys know how to groove together.
joe dart is joe dart because joe dart is joe dart
Extra points for doing that with an audience clapping along to a Michael Bublé tune!
Wat?
@@madrums007 the claps are not on time which is crazy cause at vulf shows they normally are
There he is: the coolest man alive
Amazing video editing, really shows the skills of the players in action !
That was beastly AF, yo!
I want to see Joe Dart play with Leo P from Too Many Zooz. Feel like their energy would be a good match!
crows claps on beat? now thats a win
he's playing it like a saxophone
Sheeesh... super detailed transcription. And yup...Joe still has the chicken rubberneck thing. Thanks.
YES, Joe Dart deserves more recognition. Love to see it.
🎸⏩🔥
that moment you realize joe dart was just warming up
0:56 intro was siiiiick, and it just keeps getting better
Jesus is this what a great bassist looks like? I have got some years to go it seems.
Vulfpeck
I love it
crowd pissed me off
I actually love Vulfpeck from their cover of Mmmbop lmao!
Joe Dart being Joe Dart
Joe. Dart. On. The. Joe. Dart. Bass. Vulfpeck Live at AB Ancienne Belguige. Look it up. Great Show.
Vulfpeck stays winning
Vulfpeck never rehearses
Is that steve-o playing bass?
That looks like the bass player, Joe, from Katz Man,
Its funny to me how you arent related to jacob collier. Now imagine a tiny version of yourself growing out of your ankle🙏
the one at emo's is infinitely better. so fucking good
"Joe Dart Beastly Solo"
Could you narrow it down?
Any idea what song he’s playing on? The beginning of the solo sounds a bit like Superstition by Stevie wonder
its beastly by vulfpeck
@@bubsedoodlesthanks
Cheers to the drummer who had the perfect chance to steal the Solo but didn't.
He so fucking cool I’m actually angry at god
😂
cool but is George dead?
Is it just me or does this feel... not that good? Maybe my brain is too much in the wavelength of Adam Neely's recent(ish) video about tempo and nuance, but it's hard to say that speed doesn't have a negative effect on the "feel" which seems to be the core principle at least at the start of the solo
like 1:22-1:28 has clear intent, it's just a matter of the tempo that's making that not quite execute in a way that satisfies that intent
Vulfpeck is the bandification of the "if you can play it slowly, you can play it fast" meme. Insane flex. With that said, I kinda agree with you on that the "feel" gets diluted.
His speed and creativity kind of stagnated at higher tempos and he lost his momentum. He definitely had the potential to go wild at the end but just got stuck in a loop playing the same thing
finally another sane commenter. he often flubs the rhythm even.
@@nathanreiber6819 yeah the whole thing feels more like a party trick than anything musically motivated. Like key changes can be cool and musical, but if you were to do 24 of them back to back it'd be pretty clear it was no longer about musicality...
Honestly...the mid section there is soich missed tempo playing it gets really hard to put up with. As the pace really picks up it is banging but....I like when my bassists can play on every tempo without missing simple connections. All around a hot piece though.
^^^ this guy can't keep time
pin me please
beacsue i love music
live love lie
Ya know, it's really funny how people will go nuts over this and appreciate it, yet as soon as it's 300bpm tech death with the bassist doing utterly absurd, fast things, people don't even bat an eyelid. One of the most infuriating things I constantly see. It's like everyone completely rejects true skill and talent. I say that because this guy, although very good and having some _t a s t y_ licks, is pretty mid at best compared to many other bassists I listen to. Esp in the speed dept.
it s because it sounds good
@@Roberto-fp3qbyou think so? half the solo was played out of time. and while, in many cases, thats not very important, it's a syncopated funk rhythm so it literlally just fucks everything up.
yeah how dare people like music that sounds good instead of listening to music that sounds like fucking awful dissonant noise for 10 minutes straight. Higher skill does NOT equal a better listening experience.
@@nathanreiber6819 idk what any of the shit you said means but yeah it sounds good so thats all that matters.
The crowd!!! If you are someone who cheers and yells while an artist plays/sings, please know that I hate you and your selfishness.
It’s disrespectful to the artists and everyone else in the crowd and it’s you saying - I’m going to make this moment about me.
Go nuts when the song is finished. Fill your boots. Scream your heart out. Just let everyone else enjoy the music without having to strain over your need to be noticed.
perhaps you should try the symphony then
