- My exhaust set up is Mazdaspeed Protege swap into the Protege5, Stock downpipe and catted section, Megan Racing 2.5in mid pipe, HKS Axle back Muffler.
In this much requested video I showcase all the cool sounds and noises that come from my car. The parts that excite me the most were the turbo spooling and blow off valve.

Looking into getting the HKS muffler for my protege but it’s for the Protege 5. Would I have any figment issues on the sedan?
I believe you would, It would be too short. The tip needs to be a few inches longer.
Really looking into getting forged internals for my P5, any recommendations as to where to get them?

How much hp is yours pushing? I’m wondering because I plan to install a turbocharger to mine to be exact the mazdaspeed protege turbocharger
I have a mazdaspeed protege swap with a cx racing fmic and a catback exhaust. Guessing i’m making around 170-190 hp.
how reliable are these things? and also, how is the stock sound system? looking at gettting one..
They are fairly reliable, it’s a simple Japanese 4 cylinder economy car so there’s not much to break. The sound system is also decent but it needs a subwoofer or something for more bass. I hope you can find a good one!
What happen to the p5? No more content :( I have the exact same color one 5 speed 😢
I actually sold the protege close to a year ago. So unfortunately no more protege content. That’s awesome that you have the same car, they’re so much fun!

@@NoahGaebel If you mean to successfully turbo my car, I will have to disagree. If you mean for your specific setup, that makes sense since there are a myriad of differences between the P5 and a DX
You can obviously turbo any protege, either if it’s got the 1.6, 1.8, or 2.0 or even manual or automatic. It just the easiest and most convenient to turbo a manual 2.0L. It already has a hard enough with mods and support so turboing anything is arguably not worth while but it is possible. To be honest I don’t know the differences between a manual 2.0L DX And a p5.
Very true. The amount of aftermarket support for the 1.6 is pretty much nonexistent. Mainly in the case of the headers, exhaust, intake, and I believe the cams. Otherwise, the protégés share a fairly identical format so parts can be swapped out pretty easily in my experience. My suspension setup is a hodge lodge of the 2003 P5 and the 2002 ES.
Yeah you can almost put everything besides some aero from the mazdaspeed protege to a p5

Not too bad, wouldn’t recommend if you haven’t wrenched on some other stuff first but finding all the parts and making sure you having everything is the harder part
