Because when you have a HE strong BB line in the game aka RN BBs you are going to see more and more players using HE on the other lines thinking its good lol. ua-cam.com/video/pTCgNKujaXM/v-deo.html
Technically Angeling the ship is a real tatic, but given how inaccurate most battleship shots where in real life (mostly due to human error that isn't simulated in game for convienence) survival in this game takes priority over mass fire.
@@themanformerlyknownascomme777 I mean how in the game crossing the T would be a bad thing because you'd be exposing your broadside while the other guy wouldn't.
That's because today, they're making games to make the populace stupid. I have the source materials to know what the statistics are for the German Tiger II, and I've found games that don't actually replicate it, so even though the game appears realistic, it is not. I have no idea why they've chosen to make the German tanks easier to kill (in other games) than they were for real, but I've seen enough in WoWs to know not to trust their statistics, mechanics, etc.
@@Statalyzer It's because of the overmatch mechanic. 32mm of plating shouldn't be able to bounce 16" shells, but since it can, the game has created this weird situation where bow and stern plating thickness is more important than main belt thickness. Besides that, in WWII, the US Navy considered expected battle ranges for battleships to be between 18,000 and 30,000 meters. Battles in WOWs tend to be fought at much shorter range than that, where broadside belts are not going to be effective even against the shells they were designed to protect against. Third, IRL, shell dispersion tends to be much more pronounced along the Y axis than the X axis, whereas in the game it's similar along both axes. IRL, getting the trajectory of a shell exactly right to hit the lower hull where the citadel is probably requires a lot of luck in addition to a perfectly dialed in fire control computer. That third problem is probably not possible to simulate in a game like WOWs, where players are manually aiming their guns. Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts seems to be more realistic in this respect.
Flamu has already shown that you can play perfectly against a conqueror and you still have no chance. All this HE spam going on, would it be because WG loves to frustrate the player base into purchasing premium fire extinguishers.
If you are refering to the Montana in one of his Conqueror videos, the Montana was sailing broadside on and kept firing his guns, instead of running silent and change course. Any BB could punish that Montana. The Yamato could probably have sunk it much faster. Stop the hyperbole. A lot of these "high damage games" is against people who insist sailing broadside. If people did a bit of research, they would find there are plenty of ways to deal with the Conqueror, but it is just so much easier to blame the others than their own playstyle.
I don't think that you were watching the same vid... The Montana did angle, but realized it was a conqueror so the best option was probably to flee. Flamu in fact even explained that his plays were pretty good. He had to turn broadside to get behind the island. What was so stupid was that it was 17km away. AP doesn't do shit at that range-also Montana with the lowered citadel was gonna take absolutely nothing. He wouldn't have turned away if AP was being fired at him. Stop trying to defend obviously broken balancing decisions. Watch the entire video. Flamu is one of the better players of the game, at least listen to his complete opinion. Even WG said it's OP and is nerfing it. Please. Although I would rather have them remove the stupid, stupid HE spam, than delay the heals; that means even more camping.
Wait, WarGaming admitted that something is OP? And they actually care enough to get off their asses and do something about it? Are you sure we're talking about the same WarGaming here?
I love that the Bismark was about to type in chat complaining about his team "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory" as if he had nothing to do with it.
One thing to remember is that while the Conqueror does more damage on average, it is low quality damage because fire dame is 100% healable, HE damage is 50% healable and the Conqueror targets BBs ata far higher rate than any other T10 BB, Conqueror vs Conqueror would look silly, what with the super heal and all the fully repairable fire damage. Could easily see each getting 200,000+ damage off the other.
I feel fire is OP in this game. It can be quite ridiculous at times. Sure, this guy in the middle game uses his damage control too soon, but even still it's basically a no-win situation for him being set on fire over and over and over again. I've had battleships burn out on me because of HE spam from CAs and it just feels massively unreasonable.
Conqueror alpha damage is also something like 1.5-2 times larger than other t10 BB. Couple that with the quarter penetration, can deal massive damage to angled ships.
damn i could tell this was an old video when i saw multiple different strike groups of aircraft coming in on the screen, had a little heart stopping flashback there
During events that require fires, I'll burn the HE and say it's for an event. Got more fires with Tirpy than the Hotlanta during that first ARP prevent
long time ago in my new york i was inside a smoke screen and faced off against a destroyer who poped out from right around the corner of a beach just outside the smoke, i was on discord with some on my team and pulled off a homer scream, he sailed out right infront of me and i run him over before he gets his torps in the water, it was just him and me left and i barely survived the colision, it was before i knew about these vids with jingles, had i known i would have saved the replay and sent it to him.
I swear that Gkurfurst is in my team every tier 10 game. German BB's? Worst dispersion, best armor. What do german BB captains do? Camp the back as far as possible from the caps.
i normally wouldn't defend such action but by the time you reach any appreciable distance you have been stripped of AA and have at least 2 fires going all while on half health.
i try and get up close in my bismarck, but often find that 90% of the team are hiding and trying to snipe.... if all the BB's had the same shitty dispersion as the bismarck, then the game would be much less campy...
To be fair, the GK actually has pretty decent dispersion, so it can hit fairly well from long range. What it doesn't have is good deck armor, though, so the GK *does* take a lot of plunging-fire damage at range. Still, with the camp-heavy meta being what it is, trying to push before ~50% of each team are dead just means you get burned down before you can get anywhere. So the GK was doing the right thing, hanging back like that. What the captain was *not* doing right was sailing in a straight line while getting derped by a Mongqueror and especially burning his DC on single fires. And really, high-tier BBs these days have only themselves to blame if they're not running the fire-prevention captain skill. It makes even Conq fires almost tolerable.
Conqueror's heal WAS nerfed. It had its cooldown increased by 50%. Also, that Missouri not running all premium consumables tilts me almost as much as the Bismarck spamming HE.
I also encounter too many players who only shoot HE with battleships. I once encountered a Yamato when I palyed my Amagi. When the first salvo was HE, I thought he just had HE loaded. When he kept firing HE, I decided to stop running away and show him what the 410mm AP shells of the Amagi can do. Went broadside to him at 4km and got like 3 citadells on him, sinking him because he was already under 50% HP and still kept firing HE.
The pen of the conqueror’s HE will citadel cruisers, penetrate belt and deck armor of most ships. It’s ridiculous, not to mention the insane fire chance and alpha damage.
The middle channel can be useful in the end game, esp if you manage to catch retreating enemies, provided your team won on one of the side flags and is pushing up.
First time that I have to say that Jingle got it wrong. If you are under fire by a Conqueror then waiting for the second fire us just a matter of one reload. So it's basically just delaying the inevitable for one salvo. The Conqueror is just overpowered and can wreck any detected ship no matter what it does.
Actually Jingles, the British HE has 1/4 penetration values, so it is penetrating the kurfurst deck and upper belt armour. 419/4 ~ 105.... also, the British HE has almost the same HE Alpha as the oktybrskaya's 12 inchers
I tried incorporating this knowledge into my BB gameplay this evening (only at tier IV), but I found myself rarely being effective with AP, since it seems like I'm the only one who regularly turns to fire broadsides against enemies (sorta necessary in the Wyoming, since it means the difference between four guns and twelve). All the enemy BBs and CA/CLs seems to want to face me head on, so I ended up pretty much using my HE all the time. When I got opportunities for long-range broadsides I would use AP, but I got quite a lot of non-penetrations doing that.
Have a nice recording of my Bismarck on two brothers were I go bow on and rip into the broadside of an Iowa. Not really worth sending in though since the damage total was not above average, no outstanding rewards, just a Bismarck pushing and cracking a front while the team does 'NOT' hide at the back of the map.
This 1 time I yolo'd up the middle of Two Brothers in a Sims. 5 ships were hugging the mouth of the channel. Sank 3 instantly and crippled a 4th. Within the first couple minutes of the match it became a 14 vs 11 fight. Suffice it to say we won that match.
The concealment nerf will actually help against the conqueror. It will make the ship die quicker which was one of the problems with it. It survived to long compared to other BBs. It is a ship that takes tons of damage when focused and the stealth made it to easy to just stealth up and heal back when getting focused.
I never really thought about the notion to not use your repair parties to quell 1 fire. Usually, I get set a fire, i put it out!! Now, I'm gonna have to reconsider that, and wait for the fire to be put out on it's own. Hmmm.
Ah WG introduing a BB that spams HE on 27km with ultra high precision and high fire dmg, now all this ships need is good stealth a good heal and maybe fantasic AA to be completly OP... oh wait indroducing THE conqueror. Well done WG
What "ultra high precision"? It has the worst accuracy of the Tier 10 BBs with the 419mm guns. Also, it's long range AA is pretty bad(worst in tier), meaning torpedo bombers will get the majority of their payload off. If the CV plays well(and not try to drop it from the front as in this video), he can take half the health or even sink the Conqueror with 1 wave. Torpedoes in general deals high damage(it has lousy torpedo protection) and it can only heal 10% of that back. And it has a lower healthpool, so each torpedo hit takes a huge chunk of health away. The Yamato can overmatch 70% of the armor that covers the Conqueror(bow, stern, deck, upper belt and superstructure is all 32mm or less. Only the lower belt is stronger than that), meaning very few ricochets. Basically, you can fire long range AP shells and deal consistent 20k damage(4 hits) every 30 seconds. 203mm HE shells can penetrate 32mm armor, no problem(so a Des Moines firing HE can deal 20k damage in 25 seconds). German secondaries will rip the Conqueror to shreds, if it gets within 10km range, because the 150mm HE shell can penetrate 70% of the ship's surface. People are so blind to the "perceived OPness" of this ship, that they dont look for ways to deal with it at all. I have even read that some just go AFK when they see a Conqueror on the other team. No wonder they end up dealing huge damage then.
fendelphi Kurfurst was hit by 8 shells at 25km, that is extremely good accuracy. So your in denial dude. Conqueror is totally over the top. Just a few percentage point drops on some of its stats would make it a great ship to play with out pissing every one else off. What's wrong with that?
@canine carp: In most of the salvoes, less than half actually hit the ship(often, it is just about 4 hits). The 1 time it lands 8 shots, 7 of them shatters on the belt. Also, you are talking about shooting at a broadside Battleship. The easiest target to hit in the game. And then there is RNG. Basically, any tier 10 BB that is able to fire at that range, could have done the same thing, but more consistently, as they all have more accurate guns or access to better modules. If you ignore the stats, it is you who is in denial. Anecdotal evidence can prove just about everything. Anecdotal evidence could "prove" that the Shimakaze is the most OP destroyer in the game, as it "can" instant kill 3 ships at the same time.
You can fire nothing but high explosive if you are in Orion for example, its usually a better choice against heavily armoured targets due to the unique armour piercing
I sailed right through the middle on Two Brothers in my Bayern together with one Queen Elizabeth, 2 Clevelands and 1 New Mexico. We were the only survivors
This video has been showing up a lot in my youtube sidebar. Maxim #43 of the 70 habits of maximally Effective mercenaries has a different view of Our Gnome Overlord's wisdom. Maxim #43: If it's stupid and it works, it's still stupid (and you're lucky).
Dave, on the other hand... Dave doesn't have time for regrets, he doesn't sit around in front of the fire in his rocking chair, worrying about what might have been... Dave lives for the moment. "Live fast, die young, leave a good-looking corpse", that's Dave's motto. Oh... Jingles, where did you get this from...
I was going to make a comment somewhat like this but I thought I'd scroll through a bunch of the comments to see if there was already one there and I finally found yours. I still might put up my own though.
Jingles About the conqueror spamming HE part, If shells arch in such way that they get close 90 degree hits, you can easily do citadel damage. It's called plunging. Yes, there is another option than firing AP at the belt armour of enemy ships. If it doesn't penetrate the citadel, the deck armour of battleships are weak enough for AP shells to do 50% damage per penetration. It's not bad option to fire HE and burn enemy ships but continuing to fire HE instead of plunging shots through the deck armour would do more damage than just damaging secondaries. Moreover if you overdamage the superstructure, the cruisers that have to spam HE to do any kind of damage will do little to 0 damage because the structure would be deprived of any possible health. Also, HE damage is considered light damage which means if the opposing player has any brain they can recover most of their health while getting an "anti-cruiser" shield to their superstructure.
7:32 Chance of fire on target = 1 - [(per-shell fire chance FAILURE)^(number of shells that impact)] For anything up to four shells, the heavier guns are much, much better. 73% vs 86% (smaller guns first) for two, 86 vs 95% for three, 93 vs 98% for four. 96 vs 99% for five, 98 vs 99.7% for six, and beyond that we're talking 99 point something percent for both ships that's as close to certainty as can be expected. If you are unsure of your accuracy, take the heavy-gun fit; your chances of fire on target for a small number of hits are significantly better.
The Des Moines did not neccesereally make a mystake by putin out one fire, the mystake was to keep shooting when he could have just stelted up and wait for the Conqueror to aim his guns somewhere else before shooting again.
Ever since the launch of the British battleships with their very good HE a lot more people in battleships of any nation are using HE these days, even when AP would be a far better option, I admit I do use HE quite a bit in my HMS Lion but not exclusively except when I was doing a mission to get a witherer, still it was hard to fight the desire to use AP because who doesn't love paddling people who give such a beautiful broadside. Sadly I fear the lowered citadels on most high tier BBs also mean people are less motivated to try AP
I just want to point out for the G. Kurfurst game, the battleship is currently on rent for Clan Wars, and it could be that it's an inexperienced tier 4-5 player in the GK. That's just a possibility though
notice how when the conqueror took his second shot at the enemy g.kurfurst, his rear turrets were'nt even pointed in the direction the shells travelled? if you go by the onscreen reticles at least anyway...
Watching that 2nd replay I am beginning to realise why me in a Nagato and a team mate in a Lion did so well the other day when outnumbered. Now I want it more, can't wait for the nerf just as I am about to buy it lol
Conqs nerfs were +800 meters on the detection at full stealth AND massive increase to heals cooldown. Now from the moment you activate your heal till you have the next one up you have to wait 2min 20 sec assuming you run premium heal, or 3 min 20 sec if you run the "normal" heal. And it's even more ridiculous than it sounds. You can clear 6 seconds 9 seconds off with Jack of All Trades (or 12 and 18 sec with Jack Dunkirks JoAT), leaving it at total 2min 14sec and 3min 11sec (or with JD 2min 8 sec and 3min 2 sec) respectively. Get your facts straight Jingles.
Where the hell are these broadside-sailing cruisers when I play in a BB!? All the ones I fight have WASD hacks!
That’s what I want to know
starflame34 I have aim hacks. I kill them from 20km away with my Kongo. Seems legit
25:29 well I might buy the Izumo again if it comes with its own smokescreen :D
Patrick Joergensen, so I'm not the only one who noticed...
ikr? still, it is authentic proof that this is an original Mighty Jingles video, so i wouldn't ask it to ever be removed.
Watching that Bismarck makes me angry somehow
But then, he's probably doing a mission that requires setting fires to ships or deal fire damage
SuperK3V1N007 then get a cruiser or DD -_-
Or secondaries - it's not like the Bismarck is short of them
Well, did you guys notice that the Bismarck got 3 badges for torpedo hits? Did he steal the torp-launcher from a Tirpitz or what?
The bismark was being spectated, that was a different players badge.
Tiger the Lion Ah,thx. Didn't notices that.
the last time I was this early, Sea Lion was still an option...
Military History Visualized Fancy seeing you here
Funny last time I was this early there was only two genders........
Still are ...
Err, does that mean never?
Holy smokes you watch Jingles? What's next? Am I going to find The Great War channel or Sabaton commenting here?
i would lose my shit if they did lol.
I Guess the Bismarck captain thought HE was the best.
He AParrently didnt't get the memo of BB
James Froit that was both brilliant and cancerous at the same time
TheCanadiaKiwi yeah i know
Because when you have a HE strong BB line in the game aka RN BBs you are going to see more and more players using HE on the other lines thinking its good lol. ua-cam.com/video/pTCgNKujaXM/v-deo.html
This man needs to be stopped
The absurdity of the alpha, fire chance, and module destruction still make it pretty fucking stupid yet disgustingly entertaining.
14:00 "He's off in search of windows to lick" Jingles you made me spit out my cheerios cause I was laughing too hard
A Kraken Unleashed without the Kraken gif? What is this?
23:50
Actually Jingles, the Yorck has 210mm guns.
That moment when you get the notification for a New Jingles Video....
While you're watching said brand new Jingles Video.
Logic....
which crosshair is the guy in 10:36 using??

203mm HE shells can penetrate 32mm armor, no problem(so a Des Moines firing HE can deal 20k damage in 25 seconds).
German secondaries will rip the Conqueror to shreds, if it gets within 10km range, because the 150mm HE shell can penetrate 70% of the ship's surface.
People are so blind to the "perceived OPness" of this ship, that they dont look for ways to deal with it at all. I have even read that some just go AFK when they see a Conqueror on the other team. No wonder they end up dealing huge damage then.
fendelphi
Kurfurst was hit by 8 shells at 25km, that is extremely good accuracy.
"If It's Stupid But It Works..."
It's stupid. We've gone over this, Jingles. All it means is someone got lucky.
22:38 The only ships that should go down that channel alone are the ones from the 2017 Halloween challenge.
For some reason I kept waiting for that first Bismarck to detonate an enemy, you know, "if it's stupid but it works..."
No Yamato music ? No kraken clip? Jingles you're growing old!!
Don’t u love the moment when jingles says the izumos in the smoke firing his 152 mm he at you
Couldn’t help but think of Blackadder when he said “I have a cunning plan”
That 2nd HE demo shows clearly why the Conquerer is OP.
Yay! I needed more Jingles today
I sailed right through the middle on Two Brothers in my Bayern together with one Queen Elizabeth, 2 Clevelands and 1 New Mexico. We were the only survivors
That was good jingles. Thanks
That Dave in the Missouri gameplay was very exciting to watch. Nice to see someone try something different.
That enemy Izumo at the end, either there is no God or Evolution failed. What a muppet!!!!
lol that bismark captain needs to hit the co-op battles for a few years.
Yamato player at the halfway point of the vid got his tactics from the cartoon.
This video has been showing up a lot in my youtube sidebar. Maxim #43 of the 70 habits of maximally Effective mercenaries has a different view of Our Gnome Overlord's wisdom.
Maxim #43: If it's stupid and it works, it's still stupid (and you're lucky).
The last time i was this early, Club Penguin was still a thing.
Good lord Jingles this is like the 70th time you've used this title lol
Think he getting old more or less, thats why.
It should be a series...
Zack Tyler Oh my God you're right!!!! We must bring this idea to the attention of our Gnome Overlord at once!
I guess you could say that this is one of those situations where “if it’s stupid but works.” XD
that facepalm also shown admiral tirpitz, is not it tripple irony :D
Jingles! What are you doing?! It's nearly 4:00 am where I live! Uuuggghhh!
Jingles the name is Kiwiat which is I think how the name of former F1 Driver Daniil Kvaat is spoken, when it's done wrong afaik. ;)
4:23 jingles swears for the first time in history
Dave, on the other hand... Dave doesn't have time for regrets, he doesn't sit around in front of the fire in his rocking chair, worrying about what might have been... Dave lives for the moment. "Live fast, die young, leave a good-looking corpse", that's Dave's motto. Oh... Jingles, where did you get this from...
Awesome, DHO made it into one of Jingle's videos!!!
The Bismarck at the start, i think he picked a mission to disable parts on ships, i have that too with my cruiser.
Nonderyon but then...get a bloody cruiser xD
Am I the only one who was most annoyed but the fact that jingles didn’t put the kraken clip up when the Missouri got kraken unleashed
I was going to make a comment somewhat like this but I thought I'd scroll through a bunch of the comments to see if there was already one there and I finally found yours. I still might put up my own though.
"If it's stupid but it works..."
Wargaming: It is stupid, but we make it work. Just give the idiots a tool they cannot fail with.
"I bet you can guess what happens next."
*ad starts*
Well it wasn't THAT.
I was hoping for "Tarzan" by Baltimora to kick in when the Baltimore showed up... Maybe next time.
Jingles about Yamato Captain:
He's off in search of windows to lick.
ROFLMAO
5:29 Teammate's like, "dude why don't u fire AP rounds? wtf."
Jingles
About the conqueror spamming HE part,
If shells arch in such way that they get close 90 degree hits, you can easily do citadel damage.
7:32 Chance of fire on target = 1 - [(per-shell fire chance FAILURE)^(number of shells that impact)]
For anything up to four shells, the heavier guns are much, much better.
That Bismarck shooting HE shells triggered me
I RAN SO FAST WHEN I SORE JINGLE'S UPLOAD A VIDEO I SMASHED MY LITTLE TOE ON THE CORNER OF MY DESK IM IN SO MUCH PAIN BUT THE PAIN IS WORTH IT
If it's stupid but it works...
...it still hurts.
Aye.
yay, a Spartan has made it to glory, great work Spartanm50 if you see this, well done.
No, the rental ships are Clan Wars only. You cannot take them into random battles. That's what makes this so sad to watch.
notice how when the conqueror took his second shot at the enemy g.kurfurst, his rear turrets were'nt even pointed in the direction the shells travelled? if you go by the onscreen reticles at least anyway...
Oh my good god JINGLES SAID FUCK, THIS IS NEW AND IM SCARED
wow last time I was this early
*insert shitty joke here*
wow last time I was this early
shitty joke
range upgrade conqueror
spell icup my dude 《trump inserted》
if i remember right, they did "Nerf" the heal of the conq by giving it a longer reload time on it
Back in the days when it was still a fun game to play!!!!
Missouri doing the Flambass before it was cool:D
if i had a dollar for every time jingles says"If It's Stupid But It Works" in one of his videos, i could pay for college
i was laughing the whole time i watched the Missouri battle, the enemy Izumo was clueless.
holy shit, a 30 min Jingles video, are you feeling well Jingles?
Watching that 2nd replay I am beginning to realise why me in a Nagato and a team mate in a Lion did so well the other day when outnumbered. Now I want it more, can't wait for the nerf just as I am about to buy it lol
Thinderer is a straight punisher with HE.
Bob is another "Popular Name".... Only name I can spell backwards when drunk!
Really a conqueror clip.... great watching the most balanced mega zao set fires is fun
Jingles, FYI they did nerf the COOL DOWN of that ridiculously OP heal. So there's that...
No kraken unleashed clip :(
Hilarious commentary - one of your best WoWs vids
