Jordan Bernt Peterson is a Canadian clinical psychologist, cultural critic, and professor of psychology at the University of Toronto. His main areas of study are the psychology of religious and ideological belief, and the assessment and improvement of personality and performance.
He earned a degree in political science in 1982 and a degree in psychology in 1984, both from the University of Alberta, and his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from McGill University in 1991. He remained at McGill as a post-doctoral fellow for two years before moving to Massachusetts, where he worked as an assistant and an associate professor in the psychology department at Harvard University. In 1997, he moved to the University of Toronto as a full professor.
Dr. Jordan B Peterson has been a dishwasher, gas jockey, bartender, short-order cook, beekeeper, oil derrick bit re-tipper, plywood mill labourer and railway line worker. He’s taught mythology to lawyers, doctors and businessmen, consulted for the UN Secretary General’s High Level Panel on Sustainable Development, helped his clinical clients manage depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety, and schizophrenia, served as an advisor to senior partners of major Canadian law firms, identified thousands of promising entrepreneurs on six different continents, and lectured extensively in North America and Europe.
He has flown a hammer-head roll in a carbon-fiber stunt plane, piloted a mahogany racing sailboat around Alcatraz Island, explored an Arizona meteorite crater with a group of astronauts, built a Native American Long-House on the upper floor of his Toronto home, and been inducted into the coastal Pacific Kwakwaka’wakw tribe.
With his students and colleagues, Dr. Peterson has published more than a hundred scientific papers, transforming the modern understanding of personality, and revolutionized the psychology of religion with his now-classic book, Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief. As a Harvard professor, he was nominated for the prestigious Levinson Teaching Prize, and is regarded by his current University of Toronto students as one of three truly life-changing teachers.

Mr Peterson has the ability to condense complicated subjects into short and understandable phrases. This marks someone who understands a subject "Inside out and backwards." Explaining a new topic to an expert is easy, to a laymen is difficult, and to a child requires mastery.

To put it in short; the presidents of the teacher’s unions are willing to sacrifice the future of millions of children for their own sanctimonious cause, the end effect being failures by the millions into the work force, and what’s worse is no-one wants to pay someone a minimum wage when they’re quite frankly not even worth minimum wage.
Now the unions are so powerful that parents cannot blame teachers for their children’s’ shortfalls, so the teachers, who are barely clever enough to teach themselves, remain in power and are almost impossible to fire and replace.
So now teachers without any economic, political or historical education are free to spread their own utopian socialist, collectivist ideas without the basic logic to understand no one is the same and the individualism is paramount.

Nathan Bruce I make my own opinion based upon statistics and data given. You ask how are the unions invisible? They’re right there! I agree unions are meant to be of good cause, but many of them are not. Unions first and foremost are supposed to enforce law, not create it. Many school unions are teachers unions, not student unions, and are state run rather than a private company with a monthly fee. At the negotiating table, only teachers are allowed. No parents. Because of this, the teachers more often than not get what they want, like simplifying curriculum so it’s easier to teach, or just giving kids endless tests so they don’t actually permanently take in information, rather remember for the test then forget forever. Lacking teachers can’t be held accountable because the teachers aren’t rated on test scores nor student performance. If there’s no accountability for lousiness, how are you actually supposed to have an effective system? Therefore, given this information it can be assumed the president of the union (elected by the teachers or mayor) favours the teachers, sacrificing students for his own reputation, simply because the teachers are the only front he is directly faced with. Does this make the president a happy person? Of course not. If he can’t stand up to the teachers, he’s given up on himself as a sacrifice to the happiness of the teachers.
If this man EVER ran for Canadian Prime Minister, he would have my vote without hesitation.

The clip of the lecture leading up to ~ 6:20 and the following few seconds is literally PERFECT. Ever since I became aware of Jordan a few years back and started learning more and more about him, I have grown to have nothing but the absolute, utmost respect for this man. It is, of course, obvious that he is incredibly intelligent…but to stop there and leave it at just that would be one of the grossest understatements of all time. The way this man is able to frame his thoughts, ideas, or “arguments” with SUCH crystal clear and easily understandable language-which he is then able to immediately support/back up with cold, hard, indisputable FACTS that he is capable of recalling literally INSTANTLY-is something I can only best describe with the word “phenomenon.” 😳 The fact that he then CHOOSES to use this ability to *publicly* speak out to fight for what he believes in-even in the face of some of the most vitriolic, aggressive, short-sighted, narcissistic and unreasonable human beings I’ve *ever* seen-is, hands down, one of the most incredible and inspiring examples of perseverance, dedication, and loyalty to the concept of TRUTH and the RIGHT to free speech that I have ever been fortunate enough to witness. I honestly can’t remember a time when I’ve wished more sincerely that I could thank a public figure for doing what he does with the level of integrity, courage and flat out hard work that he does it with 🙌🏻❤️

My comment was an attempt to show that I researched and Drew my own conclusions on JP and thought I would share my conclusion, that he is in fact not the monster that some people say. As to your other question "am I left leaning?" Well having listened closely to Dr Petersen I would say that your question is moot. I'm using my brain to try at least to get to the truth. The concept of left or right is a distraction from the truth. Either side is a club for you to join and feel comfortable in, with like minded people, a safe zone so to speak. According to Dr Petersen you need to stand up and be a man or woman of your own design based on your own conclusions and not debase your self by asking such shallow questions.

So, I have to say that Jordan Peterson is definitely in my top 5 people I respect. Another one, though it's a character, is the scene in Balboa when rocky talks to his son outside of his restaurant. Another is my dad, as he has taught me most of what I know, and he went from being a sharecropper's son who woke up in the morning as a kid with snow on his bed due to the hole in the roof, to being upper middle class and giving me everything I needed and most of what I wanted. Hell, he didn't even have indoor plumbing until he bought his first house at the age of 20. And another is my Father-in-law... If I was 10% as smart as that man, life would be great. Hell, Mensa contacted him. I have a small group of people that I whole-heartedly respect. My respect is not something I just hand out to everyone. My last of the top five people I respect, is my 3 year old granddaughter. She might even be number 1 on my list.

So I personally would probably be pretty fine using whatever pronoun people think they deserve. I am rarely going to intentionally be a jerk. But I am not going to let myself be forced to do it. I help people whenever I can. If someone spills there drink I clean it up, I hold open the door for people behind me. I do those things because I think it is the right thing to do. But it would be wrong to get the government to force citizens to do those things for other people. In the same manner it is wrong for the government to force people to use specific words to address other people. If you disagree that’s okay, I’m not planning on this turning into a huge discussion.
