hahaha totalmente. Si lo comparamos con américa latina, éste sería un debate en el que se dice mucho más gritando mucho menos y sin recurrir al insulto. Otro nivel.
Personal attacks and insults are usually used by those that cannot gain the advantage in a discussion from the merit of their points alone. Jordan knows he is in the right and therefore has no need for something as desperate as an insult to try and grasp the upper hand.
notice how the other professor has notes he's reading from and Jordan just stays calm and looks directly into the camera the whole time. He's speaking nothing but truth, and facts.
In order for a society to function for the good of society they have to have a means of communication based on logic and reason. Without logic and reason you can't have a discussion about anything nor can you resolve anything. With this lack of communication the society breaks down and becomes divded like our is.
If someone were to refer to Peterson as "she", would he get annoyed? Perhaps, it's the wrong way of addressing him. But should it be illegal to do so? The counterargument seemed to be "be kind". Kindness shouldn't be enforced by law. If I don't keep the door open for the person behind me, I shouldn't be fined for it. That's what defines kindness: the choice. I choose to be kind because I want to, not because I have to. If you're forced to be kind, it's not kindness anymore.

Truth is more valuable than kindness. These people don't realize or care that by making me change the words that I use, they are taking away MY FREEDOM. Keep your hands off my freedom, or I will come at you. All men should be free to say whatever, do whatever, so long as their actions cause no harm physically, or to the property or to he basic rights of the individual. Political correctness is a slippery slope people. To those offended by my use of the word man, man is an interchangeable word. It can refer to a male, or to the huMAN race. Keep your political correctness away from my freedom.
I am a huge fan of J.P. but he is wrong on this one. You must have both truth and kindness (love). Truth without kindness (love) is nothing more than a club. Kindness (love) without truth is nothing more than moral relativism leading to chaos. If they are not utilized together then J.P.'s truth that is "more valuable" than kindness cannot exist as it has no purpose. Truth does not stand on its own but must be connected to real-life interaction and application and how we live or it is a useless truth. The statement, it is true that kindness is better, proves my point. If truth is more valuable then that statement is empty, not requiring application. If kindness is more valuable, then we cannot determine if being kind is better, truly. But together the statement and the action communicate a truth that requires action, and an action that defines what is true. And that is the simple truth, and I say that with the utmost kindness. :D
@@rjeffes Ryan mate kindness is an emotion which is important to have, however truth is something separate, it has to do with things like honour and integrity also factual information, and as such we must bring our feelings into line with the truth.
From a linguistic point of view, Dr. Peterson is spot on. Changes in language take place naturally, out of common use, they have never been imposed. In the Spanish language, we have The Spanish Real Academy that sets certain rules but even they have to get together with other Latin American Academies of the Spanish language over a certain period of time to include in the dictionary words that were not considered correct previously but now are commonly accepted. Why? Because language is dynamic, not imposed.
I couldn't agree more. Language is always dynamic and is always changing in a NATURAL WAY. You can't just force something into a language's grammar. Words are okay since they are just a matter of singular and plural, or gender in some languages. But a Pronoun? That's a whole new level. You have to mess with the language's grammar and structure. We cannot call those people male/female, therefore we cannot use boy/girl, or man/woman... Is a newborn or a 1 to 4-year-old boy or girl able to decide what pronoun they want to be referred to? What about grammar? Adjectives, adverbs, objects, sentence structures, demonstrative pronouns, possessive pronouns, plural and singular forms, verb conjugation in all tenses, vocatives, declinations, and so on. Those people are delusional. Some demand to be referred to as they/them/their. Uh-uh, shouldn't it be they/them/their/THEIRS/THEMSELF/THEMSELVES? The pronoun "they" is the 3rd-person plural. So it means that they don't have a singular pronoun? That single person is always a collective? Since "they" is plural, when referring to a trans-woman, we should say "They are over here!" Then, let's be consistent and do it right. You cannot just pick a pronoun and that's it. You MUST do it accordingly: - DO Betty cook? HAVE Sean done their homework? DO THESE Carl PEOPLE know English? - ARE Meghan doing okay? Shawn HEARTS BEAT very fast. Hanah MAKE things for THEMSELVES. - Dylan? THOSE PEOPLE? I do not want to talk to THEM. Lol, it's easy to think it is all about just picking a pronoun and having people refer to you by it. But there's a thing called GRAMMAR. Let's just stop this nonsense and let language follow its course as it has always been. Should new pronouns appear, language itself will naturally take care of them and all of their grammar rules by itself. Every single word there is today has evolved/derived from others. You cannot just create a word (pronouns, in this case) out of nowhere and that's it. What about etymology, morphology, phonetics, and phonology? Peer said that just in NY there are 31 new "gender identifications." What if each one decides to create a new pronoun? We will have 31 new pronouns. Should I organize my Contacts by pronouns now?

In order for a society to function for the good of society they have to have a means of communication based on logic and reason. "Truth is a much higher value than kindness." Pure savagery here.
One day you will understand that truth is very important
@Linus Arvidsson absolutely

One positive thing: they are not normal (not feminist) woman so you can hit them.
ikr? I nearly spat out my drink when that thing on the right opened its (a non-binary pronoun!) mouth and started talking in that awful pitchy voice
Because it isn't funny.
You MUST do it accordingly:
- DO Betty cook?
"The highest possible value is TRUTH" Well said Mr Petersen.

I agree. Language should evolve naturally as opposed to by laws made by small extremist groups.
This!
“Legislation or not” as if his whole entire point isn’t free speech. They’re not even listening to him. He’s thinking long term consequences of legislation.
Sadly he's not stating it. Legislation is one thing he's against. That he PERSONALLY choses not to use them is another subject that is getting jumbled with the legislation message.
@@shiraiterra He's stated in other interviews that without the legislation he'd consider calling people he knew personally by their preferred pronoun. The point is that having to remember someone's pronoun and then also becoming a criminal by not remembering someone's correct pronoun is ridiculous.
And what are the long term consequences of legislation? Global famine ? What horrible damage it would do to society at large ? I’m genuinely curious
@@thepoet456 What damage it would do ? Replace pronouns with names and then do a thought experiment, how many people would break the law every single day, with no real intent to do so ? You can't force people to say what you want them to say. Imagine if the law gets approved, and then the next, and then the next, etc. At some point, you wouldn't be able to speak freely, cause the state would require you to say a looooong list of words and phrases, that they decided on.
@@younesbarakat1395 so you think it will be a law leading to capital punishment if somebody broke it ?
And if there’s no legal punishment for pronouncing somebody’s preferred pronouns ...would that be ok then ? Or it will still be violation of freedom of speech ?
“Kindness is the excuse that social justice warriors use when they want to exercise control over what people think and say.”
@Byron Bezuidenhout
Due to the fact that the average person wants to be kind, unlike the SJW who only wants to APPEAR kind. However, in that we regularly see how angry and disgusting these leftists are and the filth they push, they can no long be allowed any quarter.
Aye, Tmg gang
Byron Bezuidenhout this is sick?
good ol' manipulation... the very evil that humans created.
Fax!
If you need a cheat sheet to remember pronouns than that kind of defeats the purpose of pronouns
Great. I need to know, what is the polite thing to do with Doritos fingers. I like licking them, I think it's respectful. What is the appropriate way to to do it, please tell me so I don't offend and of your subjects.

That dude on the right side looks like a mixture of being both 21 and 63 years old.
Jordan, I believe most of Canada agrees with you on this.
No Peterson for days
I sure hope so

Jordan Peterson is a badass. He went against this nonesense from day one!
Well he got help from people like ben, tate, and matt. We need them to speak our voice
@@sillyfamily233 Tate? Tate isn't on a level ANYWHERE near them.
@@abceckswhyzee7169 Tate’s way of thinking and speaking and his way of articulating words is just like Dr JP. So yea he’s just as smart as JP but he’s way more aggressive
@@-Abduuu I have seen Tate get some things wrong. I haven't seen J.P. quote incorrect statistics.
Tate gives off the impression that he has done all his research and is completely confident in the authenticity of them.
J.P. gives off the impression he has researched them as well, but he adds a disclaimer (explicitly stated) for things he thinks are subjective to him. Tate does not
Tate intelligence and education are normal , jp is a scientist , they are incomparable , however they share the same ethical fundamentals
