The 'Wheel' was such a massive improvement over having to hammer every curve and bulge into sheet metal. The Aircraft and Automobile industry would have lagged terribly without it! So nice to see an iconic piece of machinery being brought back to life. It would be nice to see how the wheels themselves are made...👍

Great job with the ranalah’s, Dom.
Nice to see them being used.
I trained as a plumber 30 years ago here in Copenhagen, and we had a ranalah in one of the workshops, all original parts. The blacksmith’s used it all the time, I remember.
I made a fruitbowl that I had silverplated for my mum on it as a side-project, which she still has.

When I was a kid, my Uncle came home to CA USA from England where he had lived for years after WW2. He brought with him his english bride, who had been his nurse in the military hospital after being wounded. He also brought 2 cars with him. His wife's, 61 Austin-Healy Mk1 Sprite in green and his almost brand new 65 Cortina GT in red. I always loved the head lights of the Sprite and the tail lights of the Cortina. I noticed several of the Cortina's in the video, couldn't say whether Ford or Lotus. Just brought lots of fond memories seeing those tail lights. Great show all a round and your work is paying off! Thanks for letting us troop around with you!

Dom, you're a massive inspiration to young people to get involved in practical skills. We've lost much of our manufacturing in this country due to the insistence on university education; but that doesn't suit everyone so many young folks are floundering in academia when their real place is in the workshop or construction site. Brilliant video.

Agree completely…. I went straight into Industry when I left school, wasn’t academic at all. In my area there was loads of choice and opportunity career wise. Engineering, footwear industry, textiles and printing to name a few. Mostly gone now and it’s a real shame !

This brings me back to when I was a kid living in Germany and Holland in the late ‘60’s and early ‘70’s with all the beautiful cars in Europe and especially England.
I’m sure it occurred to you that you are building an extremely important heritage product, and in the process becoming part of the immortality of history. Your name is forever embedded in the stories craftsmen will be telling in the next 100 years.
I’ve watched most of your videos and I am amazed and thrilled at the number of companies there doing casting, machining, etc., keeping critical industries alive. It’s people like you who keep them in business.
Things are a bit more spread out here in Southern Arizona, geographically.
Keep up your amazing work and videos!

I have just watched this video and it is fabulous, I have to mention that I live less than 200 yards from the old Austin J40 factory in a little village called Glan-Y-Nant, Hengoed Mid Glamorgan South Wales. My wife’s late uncle worked there after a accident in the local colliery.

Congratulations on your success. We saw these at the Revival and my companion (who is restoring a Lanchester) was delighted to be able to tell me about them and your story. My first thought after being told was that they look as good for producing mediaval / renaissance plate armour as car panels and found with a little research that they date back to at least 1500. An additional market for you, perhaps.

Really interesting. The Revival looks fantastic and your view reaally helps. On Discovery Channel, I saw a program called Buy It, Fix It, Drive it and one of the presenters, Sam Lovegrove, was using a modern English Wheel to produce panels for a 1930's Sunbeam.
