    There are plenty of Spanners on the internet - but only Dom can say he’s proud to be the biggest spanner of them all and we would all positively agree!
    Keep up the good work.

    Great work Dom. Can't wait to see what you do for the lettering on the handle. You make welding seem like something worth learning.
    Really appreciate that you seem to be more comfortable looking at the lens. I can "see" you putting in the effort, well done.

    When this started I though, "Oh ok... no big deal. A flat simple spanner cutout with minimal depth." I never imagined that you'd go so far as to roll the metal as you have.

    What about making some nuts out of very thick cavity thermal block. I mocked up a petrol tank for a custom Triumph I am building and it worked really well. It’s easy to carve the screw thread and you can get it at any DIY store. Just an idea Dom. Love this project you two 👍🏼

    I went on a cruise many years ago on an old fashioned liner. On the deck up at the bow was a spare propeller. The Allen key required to fit the grub screw would have been in scale with this spanner!!!!!

    Hi Dom.
    I'm glad the inner vote won. I said in your previous Spanner video that old school all the way and rightly so.
    It's going to look great when it's finished. How will you go about doing the writing? Weld it?
    What if you were to go the same way you did on the Ranalah? That worked out looking really good.
    Also, how about you display the original small Spanner next to its big brother at Goodwood? Perhaps showing some still shot photos of how you both built the spanner.

  • @totalutternutter

    When you do the lettering you could use neodymium magnets to hold them in place instead of weld, then if you want to take it to other shows as well as goodwood you could plasma cut new letters.

    Great video Dom, Great news on the Ranalah sale, you must be a very pleased man as all that hard work is starting to pay off, loving the spanner, have you thought what will happen when Revival has finished?

  • @541Dave
    @541Dave Рік тому +1

    Hi Dom, the angle (head vs long straight joining piece) should be 30 degrees. This allows you to turn the spanner over when undoing a hex nut in a tight space. 60 deg per side, halved for turning the spanner over gives 30degrees.

    • @541Dave
      @541Dave Рік тому +1

      Also, the long curve could have been formed on the Ranalah with a rubber band on the flat wheel. This technique is demonstrated by Carl Fischer on his Make it Kustom UA-cam channel - the thickness of sheet may be an issue….

    • @DominicChineas
      @DominicChineas  Рік тому +1

      Yeah it wouldn’t have been a good idea to put 1.5mm though the ranalah!! I appreciate the info about the 30 degrees though thank you

    • @541Dave
      @541Dave Рік тому

      Thinking about the angle a bit more, it might be 15 degrees that you need.this will give a total of 30 degrees when the spanner is turned over!

    I much prefer the (much) slower turning metal bladed cut off tool. The grinder version sprays dirt far and wide - yeuch.
