Lest you forget - you do a wonderful job of taking care to change the video clip for every subject you talk about, even if its just a short sentence. I really thank you for taking so much care. You do a wonderful job with these reviews.
Great car....just been on the Porsche configurator: -Rear Drive Coupe -PDK -Jet black -Alcantara -Jet black wheels -Red seat belts -Red air intakes Maybe for Christmas LOL :D
The keen eyed out there have spotted the video is 9:11 long like when autocar reviewed the 918 their video was 9:18 long. Let's hope Koenigsegg don't do the same with the one:1!
Rough, raw, hard, wild, fits only one to two people and no bullshit in purposeful seats, loud, and fast. Your description of the GT3 pretty much sums up exactly what I'm looking for. I'll have one of them in RS trim please.
I do not comment on UA-cam videos. However, I must take the time to tell you that your videos are absolutely well crafted. Your reviews are rewarding to watch. Thank you for your quality work and continuous production. Cheers from Montreal, Canada.
Your system is either too slow, or you are Sir, no offense! Check the Video Section on the channel, and you will experience delight! Have a nice evening!
Currently driving a 2013 C2S and about to order a 2016 GTS! Loved the video; well-made and perfectly edited. Also, thanks for helping me choose Carmine Red over White. ;)
The only problem is, this car is a PDK. If you drive a sports car for the experience, the manual trans is much better. The PDK is for people who only care about numbers.
Have a 2019 version of this car the intro of this video was totally bang on. Amazing handling and plenty of pace for all but the ready to lose their license drivers.
I atleast visit Porsche website about 2-3 times a day and configure CARRERA 4 GTS COUPE, CARRERA 4 GTS CONVERTIBLE, CARRERA GTS COUPE and still not Satisfied i do the GT3 aswell. At the end of each configuration i write down total amount when im done with all of them i calculate them and the amount wakes me up from dreaming. 😢😢😢.
great vido. you're right, the gts badge will become as usual as the S badge. If you look back to the 993, the CS was something else, with wide body and so on but now is just another option, just like the gts is becoming.
Fortunate enough to won this car, it really is something & there won’t be another natural aspirated 911 GTS again. For performance, that sound, and daily usage it really is hard to find anything better.
I think this is probably my favourite XCAR film. Does anyone know what music was used in the film, and where I could find it? Notably at 1:00, 1:49, and 8:25.
5:36 Downshifting with an automatic is so boring. Flapping away at a paddle multiple times because you're stuck with sequential gear changes would be horrible for me. I'm so glad you can get the lighter manual that lets you have fun driving the car instead of the heavy and boring PDK automatic.
A rear drive manual GTS might be the Porsche to buy of the "standard" 911 range in turns of value later on down the road. Possibly the last n/a manual 911 they will make.
In one shot we see a man with a blazer on the finish line, two feet close to racing cars, and in the next a "no smoking" sticker on the 2015 car. Oh, how the times have changed.
I love how the GTS looks but I can't help but feel it's the Porsche for people who sacrifice absolute driving perfection for a little more comfort. As opposed to the GT3 which does the opposite. To me, I just couldn't enjoy knowing that the car was a little less crisp than what I could have gotten just for a touch more comfort. Then again, I'm probably the minority.
Soon the GT3 will be about comfort too because Porsche doesn't care about performance anymore and the new GT3 is nowhere near as competitive as the 997 and the 996 were. The only thing the new Porsches carry on from the legendary Porsche history is the price tag and no, you're not the minority, all Porsche enthusiasts I know (and I'm a german so I know many) share this feeling and this thought gets confirmed by the fact that Porsche is focusing on things like the Macan instead of the race-spec vehicles but then again that's what the retarded market wants. The worlds' politicans and the worlds' car buyers are behaving like newly-rich retards nowadays.
Your approach to story building is among the best that is on the market for car reviewing imo. Thus everything else from D.O.P, sound editing, grading etc. is always high standard and well executed. Thumbs up all the way ;D
GTS has always been a trim level since it was re-introduced. Remember, it was re-introduced on the 2009 Cayenne, which was a heavy pig. The sports car GTS models are on point, but its definitely just a trim.
+TassieLorenzo Dont care. Manuals are so much more fun and involving. Plus, the PDK gear changes just don't sound as good. Tents of a second only matter on the track
+Sharia Pepe We seem to have different taste :P I find the McLaren 570s for example much better looking than the P1. Aside from the Ferrari, Lambo and Pagani everything you summarized is exceptionally good looking but they're all off by a little. The Pagani looks like an abomination to me. The R8 for example has been one of my favorites for a really long time but the more I look at its back from the sides it just seems worse and worse. I don't like how the Viper goes upward near the back. The F-type is the closest to perfection but again, something about the back seems off, it looks vaguely too short. Hard to pinpoint. The 918 looks weird in the lower middle. It's really annoying how they all come so close to being perfect but fail. There is nothing I can see on the 911 Carrera GTS that immediately turns me off and there is no other car I can say that about as far as I know.
great review - but this the weirdest spec gts to date - painted front and back air dam and lower valence 'bodywork' but the side skirts aren't painted - weird........ mine's the other way around and the side skirts could just be left black, but I live in Arizona so the painted side skirts have held up well.........
***** It's an amazing car (you're awesome video clearly showed that!), no doubt about that: the speed, the comfort and the usability is outstanding, but I have really, really, really fallen for the GT3 - to the point where I am almost preferring it over the incredible 918
Dee Jay Not really into the GT2, awesome car still, but (as Captain Slow would say): the GT3 makes me "fizz" - and that is without me having even driven it!
Which Porsche's these days have a 2+2 config? I want to buy one, but the wife says it needs spots for the kids. I want a sports car, not a sedan. So I'm looking for 2+2, not 4 door like the Panamera, and not an SUV/SAV like the Macan or Cayenne
If you gave a Carrera S all the options that come with a GTS, including the 430 hp engine, it's about $15,000 more...$6,000 if you don't go for the increased power

The (coming soon) GT2 will straight out murder you, or at least maim you severely - if not physically, then financially. The Panamera should be heard, and never seen. The Cayenne is only to tow your trailered GT2 RS to the track. So, when it's all said and done, the 911S is the car to get and drive every day.

The only problem is you having not enough money. Porsches are worth every Penny, especially compared to so called competitors like the Corvette or what you were referring to.
Porsche Curves That's the most stupid thing I've read on the internet today. Guess why the 997 GT3s are rising in value? Because real porsche enthusiasts know that this company is producing overpriced bullshit nowadays and the new GT3 doesn't even have a manual. And this car won't become a classic like the air-cooled 911's from the past that's for sure. And nope the less expensive cars you can buy which have more performance won't lose value more than this porsche, that's just an ignorant statement. The fact that the macan has a 18 month waiting list shows that this company is NOT about performance but profit and retarded customers nowadays.
Every time I think about maybe adding a porsche on my shopping list, I look at the insane markup on them and then think "nah I'd rather have an S-Audi or AMG Merc". I'm sure they're nice cars, but on principle I'm not going to spend $80k on something with mid-300s horsepower.
I would never consider buying this 911 even if I hat the money. For me the 911 Carrera S is better looking and the 911 GT3 (the one I would love to have) is a better value for money, which is very important since the car with all the options like this one in the video cost something like a GT3 with some extra kit, why would you buy it then?
No manual anymore on the gts... Shi* it's suppose to be the one for antousiasts, not only lap times or going down autobans. It should seats between the both and the manual would be great for that.
Every 911 is the one that I'm looking for..
This episode is 9:11 long. Coincidence?
Haha wanted to post the same comment. Probably not just a mistake 😏
it says 9:10
Marc D No it doesn't.
Philipp X the weird thing is, in my subscription box it says 9:11 in the thumbnail, but on the video it is 9:10
Coincidence I don't think so.
Lest you forget - you do a wonderful job of taking care to change the video clip for every subject you talk about, even if its just a short sentence. I really thank you for taking so much care. You do a wonderful job with these reviews.
The duration of this video is 9:11. Genius. ;)
I was checking to see if anyone else already said that. You did. Props.
I am about to post the same thing as you . I think it was the intention of the one who edited this videos for sure
Great car....just been on the Porsche configurator:
-Rear Drive Coupe
-PDK
-Jet black
-Alcantara
-Jet black wheels
-Red seat belts
-Red air intakes
Maybe for Christmas LOL :D
The keen eyed out there have spotted the video is 9:11 long like when autocar reviewed the 918 their video was 9:18 long.
Let's hope Koenigsegg don't do the same with the one:1!
Just use 13:40 for One:1.
Antonius Tyaswidyono did you mean 13:01?
Tom Quaif
because of One:1's power output of 1MW. Or 1,340bhp in old money.
Antonius Tyaswidyono it took me a while to get that but good thinking!
I can see where you're going but that would mean this 911 vid would be 9:11 in length due to it having 911bhp...which it does not
Rough, raw, hard, wild, fits only one to two people and no bullshit in purposeful seats, loud, and fast. Your description of the GT3 pretty much sums up exactly what I'm looking for. I'll have one of them in RS trim please.
The last naturally aspirated 911 carrera. Guaranteed a future classic.
last road oriented NA carrrera. There are new GT3 NA but they are track oriented
@@milospinkfloyd3325also now the GT3 Tourings and rare ST
This is the first time in a while that I've actually LIKED the sound a Porsche (aside from the 918) has made.
***** Given that I'm the kind of person that likes the sound of the Nissan GT-R, M4, and older Porsches? Yes. It really is.
I do not comment on UA-cam videos. However, I must take the time to tell you that your videos are absolutely well crafted. Your reviews are rewarding to watch. Thank you for your quality work and continuous production. Cheers from Montreal, Canada.
I am a big fan of the GTS line, 911 carrera 4 GTS would be a seriously nice all weather package
Very good compromize this GTS. Nice video !
9:11 Video, you won the internet! :D
It's 9:10 for me.

I like how you guys often look at the history of vehicles when doing reviews. It gives a nice perspective that many other reviewers don't give.
Currently driving a 2013 C2S and about to order a 2016 GTS! Loved the video; well-made and perfectly edited. Also, thanks for helping me choose Carmine Red over White. ;)
the british reviews catch the spirit of the 911 so real, so impressive - it's a shame that german reviews don't
Proud owner of a 991.2 GTS!! Best car I´ve ever owned!! Great review!!!
Thanks for helping me decide. I just ordered mine in silver with awd and will be delivered in 3 days. Thanks again!
just great
The only problem is, this car is a PDK. If you drive a sports car for the experience, the manual trans is much better. The PDK is for people who only care about numbers.
It looks bloody gorgeous.. and those wheels in black are epic.
I love this guy. Any video with him in it, I automatically like!!!!
Awesome!! Thanks, guys!!
***** I'm anxious for the GT4 review and I bet you guys are anxious to drive it!
I just noticed that Alex looks like Chester from Linking Park...
RIP :(
Now I can't unsee it
Another cracking video, thank you! That is an amazing road car. I agree with you about the steering feel on the 997 range.
I really like this xcar reviewer. I enjoy all his reviews...
Your reviews are just excellent. Keep up the good work! Thanks!
Nice video. Very informative to someone in the market for a new 911.
Great video, and the car looks fantastic. Alex does a great job!
I'd forgotten how much I loved this review!
Thisis hte bestreviewbar none for thi car, the 991.1 GTS!
The only reason I like the GTS better than a GT3 (as a road car) is the fact you can get it with a manual transmission!
Have a 2019 version of this car the intro of this video was totally bang on. Amazing handling and plenty of pace for all but the ready to lose their license drivers.
Sick car and nice review!
there is NOTHING in the world like a 911 PERIOD
FroopieLoopies Ferrari and bugatti son!
Great car. Great video

Hahaha I do the same!
Looks so perfect! 2015 is gonna be a fantastic year for Porsche once again. Cayman GT4, GT3 RS and so on. I can't wait 😃
great vido. you're right, the gts badge will become as usual as the S badge. If you look back to the 993, the CS was something else, with wide body and so on but now is just another option, just like the gts is becoming.
Great vid. Don't change your format at all XCAR
easily my favourite Porsche along with the GT4, carerraGT, and 918
Fortunate enough to won this car, it really is something & there won’t be another natural aspirated 911 GTS again. For performance, that sound, and daily usage it really is hard to find anything better.
Where are these roads? Looks awesome!
Great review!
I think this is probably my favourite XCAR film. Does anyone know what music was used in the film, and where I could find it? Notably at 1:00, 1:49, and 8:25.
If I could afford a 911 I would pick the GT3 anyday
Great review on the GTS - can you confirm is the car you reviewed the Guard Ref?
Splednid review as usual guys :)
5:36
Downshifting with an automatic is so boring. Flapping away at a paddle multiple times because you're stuck with sequential gear changes would be horrible for me. I'm so glad you can get the lighter manual that lets you have fun driving the car instead of the heavy and boring PDK automatic.
Wow the video is even 9 minutes 11 seconds long.
But jet fuel can't melt steel beams
Alvin Rohani 9 minutes 10 seconds!
A rear drive manual GTS might be the Porsche to buy of the "standard" 911 range in turns of value later on down the road. Possibly the last n/a manual 911 they will make.
9 minutes and 11 seconds exactly. Nice touch

*****
The Carrera GTS is a mid level Porsche 911. It is fast and has great handling. It is not designed to be a hardcore vehicle like a GT3 RS.
Porsche gts looks nice but I prefer it a different color . Glossy red doesn't do it for me for a Porsche. Also funny how this video is exactly 9:11
Excellent Review, Thank You ;)

what is that song that plays around 1:00
If it's got flappy paddles, it's not the 911 I've been looking for.
You can get manual versions of these too so don't worry!
mojostevo
What are you looking for a 1970s light weight Porsche or something like that.
mojostevo But the PDK is so much faster. :/
+TassieLorenzo Dont care. Manuals are so much more fun and involving. Plus, the PDK gear changes just don't sound as good. Tents of a second only matter on the track
Such a lovely car :)
This might be the most beautiful car ever
Which one(s) do you find more beautiful?

Those wheels. I’d get them on the GT3
Would still take the GT3 over the GTS, simply because I am not normal.
***** It's an amazing car (you're awesome video clearly showed that!), no doubt about that: the speed, the comfort and the usability is outstanding, but I have really, really, really fallen for the GT3 - to the point where I am almost preferring it over the incredible 918
Why not the GT2? It's a GT3, with a turbo
Dee Jay Not really into the GT2, awesome car still, but (as Captain Slow would say): the GT3 makes me "fizz" - and that is without me having even driven it!
Love how the video length of the 911 Carrera GTS is 9 minutes and 11 seconds long. Brilliant!
Thank you Porsche for doing the sensible thing, by putting wider rear wheel arches on the RWD cars in this GTS.
Ohh and a great video as always ***** Keep it up.
The GTS is a nice update :)
When is the GT3 video coming up?
Which Porsche's these days have a 2+2 config? I want to buy one, but the wife says it needs spots for the kids. I want a sports car, not a sedan. So I'm looking for 2+2, not 4 door like the Panamera, and not an SUV/SAV like the Macan or Cayenne
+speedevil22 oh shit. Just realized this has rear seats. Yes. I'll take 9.
that was funny rofl ^^
speedevil22 you CAN fit a kid in the rear until about the age of 10-12 years old... Kids fit in my carrera
Yes. For DD, I would either choose 911 GTS or S. Everything else is too much for me.
If you gave a Carrera S all the options that come with a GTS, including the 430 hp engine, it's about $15,000 more...$6,000 if you don't go for the increased power
the porsche you want is the 991 s or turbo or turbo s.
the more balanced for the money is the 991 s with the right amount of optionals.
GTS is definitely the car that I'd like to buy. It's super balanced
good
It's 2023 and I want one! 👍😀❤❤❤
What is this color is on that car? Is this karminn-red, indisch-red oder the "mighty" lava-orange? thx
Guards red ;)
eisenherz188 green I think
The S is still the car to go for.
If you get the Carrera you'll always wish you got the S.
If you get the Turbo the value sinks like a stone, and the upkeep makes you wish you bought the S.
The GT3 breaks you in half, and so you can only drive it at the track, or install a special pillow to sit on - and you'll always secretly wish it worked just like a normal S, and didn't have motorsport prices for parts, which have to be regularly replaced.
The convertible marks you as gay, and gets you burned.
The Targa marks you as stupid, and ignorant.
The C4 just wastes tyres and weighs too much, and if you live where it snows a lot, then the car for you is the C4S. If you want to drive fast in wet weather, you should be in your Cayenne S, as it has massive traction and grip in the wet.
The (coming soon) GT2 will straight out murder you, or at least maim you severely - if not physically, then financially.
The Panamera should be heard, and never seen.
The Cayman is just too logical, and too clinical, and too mid-engined, and too small.
The Boxster is too much fun, and too trendy, and too small, and it only looks like a 911.
The Cayenne is only to tow your trailered GT2 RS to the track.
So, when it's all said and done, the 911S is the car to get and drive every day.
The huge problem, same with all porsches, is the price. You can get a noticeably faster car for that price, especially if you live on the US.
The price isn't a problem at all. Supply vs demand. Porsche wouldn't charge what they charge if they were losing sales. The Macan has an 18 month waiting list. Wouldn't say price is an issue.
Go watch this and you'll see that the 911 is a better bang for buck than the Corvette: ua-cam.com/video/kHlPpAmNCIU/v-deo.html
The only problem is you having not enough money. Porsches are worth every Penny, especially compared to so called competitors like the Corvette or what you were referring to.
It's obvious you've never driven a Porsche.
***** If you buy the right one they don't. Air cooled 911s are catching a pretty penny and 997 GT3s are rising in price.
Porsche Curves That's the most stupid thing I've read on the internet today. Guess why the 997 GT3s are rising in value? Because real porsche enthusiasts know that this company is producing overpriced bullshit nowadays and the new GT3 doesn't even have a manual. The fact that the macan has a 18 month waiting list shows that this company is NOT about performance but profit and retarded customers nowadays.
cool
There's a targa 4 GTS, but I would get the coupe GTS with a sliding glass roof...cheaper, sleeker, and almost as open
Love the GTS, though I personally prefer the GT3.
***** Yes it is, I used to drive a 996 GT3.
I always love Alex's reviews, but hey, GTS over GT3? Really?
Lenght of the video: 9:11. Nice touch
Man why didn't you get the manual one . That would be superb!
Love how the video is 9 mins 11 seconds.
Man I would love to have a 997 GTS .
It's the Carrera I'm looking for in the universeeeee!!!!!
Mmm...No, I think the 911 I'm looking for is either the GT2 RS or the upcoming GT3 RS. :3
I would buy a Carrera S and get the Carrera S Powerkit which up's the horsepower to 430.
shame though horsepower is not enough you get blown by any amg , is there any aftermaker reprogramation available ?
50grey yes oh many
GT4 is 10 km/h slower, but the same 0-60 time as GTS. Although not as pretty, it's miles cheaper and better balanced.
I'd even say it's much prettier. But there we have the same problem with everyday usability.
On iTunes, this 991 episode only had 12 seconds of video. Thought it was an odd promo.
The auto pdk is 3.4s 0-60, we have one of our own and have gotten 3.2 but Porsche advertises slower times. Opposite of Ferrari
No manual anymore on the gts... Shi* it's suppose to be the one for antousiasts, not only lap times or going down autobans. It should seats between the both and the manual would be great for that.
How much does this cost?
"The *GTS* came from a racing car, not a cruising machine"
the irony.
The video is 9:11 long. Nice touch.
Video length is 9:11....coincidence?
